Nice room. Staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and attentive. Breakfast was excellent and a lovely dining room and garden area. Unfortunately we had not realised there was no evening hot meals in the restaurant on a Saturday night. We had planned to eat in or have room service and neither were available. We could not find much open close to the hotel so ended up eating what we could find from Greggs and The little Tesco across the road.

The check in process was smooth with no issues. Unfortunately the bar was not open when we arrived which meant we couldn't visit the on site bar as it opened after we were leaving for a concert. The lifts take a long time. The room appears fine on first glance but you can very quickly see that the carpet hasn't been hoovered. There are no hygiene covers underneath glasses and mugs which are left rim down on the surface of shelves. The water pressure of the shower and the tap is absolutely awful. It takes about 15 minutes just to have a quick wash because the water is just trickling out of the shower head. The bed is hands down the worst part about the room. It is unbelievably uncomfortable and the pillows are no better. Genuinely one of the worst beds I have slept on. There's no bottled water in the room so no provision of cold refreshments. There are tea/coffee making facilities but you would have to use the bathroom tap to fill the kettle up, something I don't personally like doing. We are on the 5th floor and it is incredibly noisy outside with clocks of birds screaching constantly. I appreciate this isn't the hotels fault and can't be helped but something to bear in mind if you're booked into a higher floor room.

Wonderful customer service from all staff, lovely clean rooms with crisp bedding, and good black out curtains, I had the BEST sleep ever. The breakfast was delicious with a wide choice of foods for all dietary requirements. I used the swimming pool and sauna (2 mins offsite) which was a fantastic venue. I loved the central location of the hotel and I will most definitely return.

Parking NOT free - a bit of s rip-off, as fir 2 nights, you have to but THREE days, bed (standard double) is too small, shower works, NO A/C (just a small fan, as windows open very slightly, breakfast good.

Great hotel. Easy check in process. Room was very modern and very clean. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was also modern and clean. Car park is only 5 minutes walk away is reasonable at £9.60 for 24 hours.

The hotel is exceptional value with friendly service that comes with a can do attitude. Rooms are comfortable and the campus is in a handy location for the city centre. The highlight though is the access to a 25m Edwardian swimming pool which is a short walk but still within the campus. The steam room gives a good heat and is a decent size too. The life guard took the time out to explain the history of the pool and there’s some fascinating old black and white photos from its early days.

Had a nice stay here, the room was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent we stayed at the weekend but there were no bar or restaurant facilities as the don’t open Friday and Saturday which was odd, when we got back to the hotel we fancied a drink and asked if there was a shop locally or vending machine we were told no it was only by chance we saw a notice saying they sell wine and beer behind reception if they advertised it better I’m sure they’d sell a lot more at the weekend.

Was pleasantly surprised Only thing that was a bit of an issue was parking there wasn’t any space in the hotel car park so I had to park quite away away which meant driving my car over and unloading my bags and then travelling to the car park and walking back then in reverse. And it was £13 The other thing is I kept getting lost because all of the buildings look exactly the same and it’s not well signposted . None of this is the fault of the hotel but just something to bear in mind. We will be back

Had to change my room due to a problem with the generator. New room still had blue cleaning gloves on the chair and the bath had not been cleaned. Swimming pool was also closed. Reception staff v friendly but an unclean room is not a selling point

It was ok - Apart from brown marks on the towel - See pic - Shampoo wasn't working - extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working - wifi was going in and out - And the smell in the bathroom was putrid - The drains clearly need seeing to - I want a refund.

I was in a single room as far as it could possibly be from a lift. There was a lot of walking! I like a firm mattress and supportive pillows but the ones here were a bit too solid even for me. The bed seemed wider than a standard single though Very short of electric outlets and none for USB Very pokey bathroom with the tightest shower cubicle ever The breakfast at £15.95 seems incredibly high. I can't comment on the quality as I only wanted a light breakfast and that price put me off. A continental is available for £9.95. I went to the nearby Costa.

Stayed 1 night before my flight. The single room was clean and amenities good. My only negative is that the walls are quite thin as i could hear the couple in the next room talking. The staff seemed friendly. Only a 20 minute walk to Grand Central & Bullring, and to New St Station for the train to the airport.

Switched rooms as couldnt get WiFi working at first and had to get some work done but was the hotel's decision and zero fuss. Great room and food, would have stayed longer under different circumstances. And the water options by reception are great!

The staff were really friendly and informative. The facilities were great and it was all very clean. I had a great stay other than the bed was rock hard. I can sleep anywhere but this bed was so uncomfortable I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet to add some softness to it as it started to hurt my body. Everything else was great apart from that

Liked: staff were wonderful, the hotel was very clean, the areas around the hotel seemed safe, breakfast was great, bed was comfortable. Only negative was poor sound insulation in the room. I was unfortunate to have noisy people in the adjacent room and I could hear them talking throughout the night.

As always, really welcoming and really efficient. Rooms are clean, comfortable and fairly priced. CO2 ratings on the restaurant menus shows it takes sustainability seriously and provides, umm, food for thought.

Amazingly friendly staff and very helpful. Car park is a short walk but not far from hotel. Was a little confusing finding the parking but was sorted easily with the help of the staff.

Area unpleasant with racist graffiti everywhere and lots of hangabouts. Hotel public areas very pleasant and room fine with a good shower and comfortable bed but no airflow or aircon so very stuffy. Breakfast staff manager was incredibly rude to me over a misunderstanding about breakfast that was entirely the hotel’s fault (reception had told me it was included, she said it wasn’t). Wonderful customer service from all staff, lovely clean rooms with crisp bedding, and good black out curtains, I had the BEST sleep ever. The breakfast was delicious with a wide choice of foods for all dietary requirements. I used the swimming pool and sauna (2 mins offsite) which was a fantastic venue. I loved the central location of the hotel and I will most definitely return.

Booked for my son to stay in after moving out of his apartment before going down to Heathrow to catch a flight. He left the hotel and headed to catch the only train of the day due to the strikes only to find out it was cancelled. He now had nowhere to sleep but headed back to the hotel who checked him back into his room he had just left and found him a room for the next night. The staff at the hotel were so caring and took all the stress out of the situation. Wonderful setvice above and beyond in a quiet, comfortable hotel with a fabulous breakfast!

The hotel is exceptional value with friendly service that comes with a can do attitude. Rooms are comfortable and the campus is in a handy location for the city centre. The highlight though is the access to a 25m Edwardian swimming pool which is a short walk but still within the campus. The steam room gives a good heat and is a decent size too. The life guard took the time out to explain the history of the pool and there’s some fascinating old black and white photos from its early days.

It was great, clean, central, comfortable and really good value other than reception staff randomly knocking on the door at 1am... they said there had been noise complaints about the room while we were sitting in silence watching TV, but the TV was so quiet you couldn't even hear it in the bathroom. I heard shouting outside later on so I assume that was the actual issue but the staff didn't bother to check before disturbing us at 1am... and when I mentioned this on checkout they didn't seem sorry at all. Overall the room and breakfast were good but the staff 100% have a 'student security' mentality not a 'hotel guest' mentality so it would probably be great if travelling alone for business, but don't expect a hotel-level style of service.

Stayed for 2 nights & I would recommend. It is a short walk from train stations so no taxis needed. Easy walk into Birmingham city centre with its multitude of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, shops & places of interest. Hotel is clean, bright & airy. Staff are helpful & knowledgeable. Room was spacious, clean & well maintained.

Lovely clean facilities. We stayed in a double room & it was very spacious. Clean. Bath is big too. Bed comfortable. Heating was lovely when on made the whole room cosy. Bar service was second to none very polite & professional. Edwin couldn’t do enough for us. We wanted a drink in the bar said he would stay open another half hour/hour for us. Edwin made are stay he was very comical but professional made us feel very welcome & looked after. Brilliant area for the Christmas markets to 10/15 min walk away. No parking available on site think we left it too late to book, so we parked round corner at millennium car park for 24 hours it was £9.80 so not too bad. Overall very happy with are stay, thank you

Stayed 1 night before my flight. The single room was clean and amenities good. My only negative is that the walls are quite thin as i could hear the couple in the next room talking. The staff seemed friendly. Only a 20 minute walk to Grand Central & Bullring, and to New St Station for the train to the airport.

Nice room. Staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and attentive. Breakfast was excellent and a lovely dining room and garden area. Unfortunately we had not realised there was no evening hot meals in the restaurant on a Saturday night. We had planned to eat in or have room service and neither were available. We could not find much open close to the hotel so ended up eating what we could find from Greggs and The little Tesco across the road.

We booked this hotel as it was close to villa park for Pink concert. The hotel room was clean however the breakfast let the hotel down. The tables were large and seated 8 per table so guests either had to sit together or wait until tables became free. There were some smaller tables that seated 4 or 2 but not enough for this hotel. Breakfast was not good... tables were not cleaned quickly I had to clear our table myself and the full english breakfast was anything but! There was no eggs and people were told to wait 10 minutes when we returned after 10 minutes there was no sausages and limited mushrooms. The juces were served by the start of the full english breakfast queue so very diffucult to get as people were in the way queuing for their breakfast. Its a conference hotel so i get the reason for the large tables but they also encourage couples and families so unless you had 8 in your party seats were wasted. Staff were not helpfull and we felt like they were just wanting the whole thing to end. And 1 lift in the hotel of that size ? Shame cos its got space and a good location to be a very good hotel.

A real surprise, did not expect it to be on campus and to be so spacious, modern and generous. Very good room sizes, well furnished with all the required elements for a business trip. Excellent standard of food in the restaurant for both breakfast (nice wide choice too) and for evening meal. Would definitely recommend.

All in all it is a pretty good place to stay, the room was generally quite clean, provided tea and coffee, body wash, shampoo & conditioner (personally the smell wasn't to my taste but I won't mark down for that). The location is excellent with food options about if you don't fancy what is on the menu. Their food was nice and gets delivered to your room quickly at no extra cost. My only issue was that I requested no onions on my meal and there was loads of onions on it and I can't eat them. The staff are friendly and the building is modern. I personally found the bed a bit uncomfortable, but for what I needed it was fine. There are parking options about too if you look for them. Adams Street car park is 10 minutes and £3 for 24 hours which you can renew up to 5 days. The hotel met most of my expectations except the bed

I arrived late at night, reception guided me from the car park to the venue over the phone, which was helpful. My room was much better than expected, spacious, clean, the bed really comfortable. Breakfast was good quality & plentiful, dinner was pleasant too, & both good value. The staff were always polite & helpful. Situated well for the town centre & rail travel. All in all a lovely stay, far exceeding my expectations.

The hotel itself was ok. However, the room was stifling warm and no air con. Opened windows in room but was extremely noisy up until around 4am. Should have known this would be the case as sited within the Aston university campus. The biggest issue for us was the shambles at breakfast. My wife ate continental but I went for the full English and had to queue for 20 minutes as NOT self service. Tables not cleared and my wife had to ask for yoghurt and pastries to be replenished. The only person who had any go in them was the young lady who checked us into the Restaurant. Everyone was complaining. We did get a refund of the Breakfast cost. Restaurant staff training required and make the cooked breakfast self service.

Had a nice stay here, the room was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent we stayed at the weekend but there were no bar or restaurant facilities as the don’t open Friday and Saturday which was odd, when we got back to the hotel we fancied a drink and asked if there was a shop locally or vending machine we were told no it was only by chance we saw a notice saying they sell wine and beer behind reception if they advertised it better I’m sure they’d sell a lot more at the weekend.
