The hotel is tied but because of the location and the on site parking it’s good value for money.

The hotel is very dated and like a previous review that I read after booking didn't realise that the parking was £18.00. I appreciate that Cambridge is a city, but prior notice on Hotels.com would have been appreciated. The excellent continental breakfast that a lot of people commented on, I personally would rate as mediocre. Despite the obvious wear and tear of the property, on a positive note the bed was very comfortable. The nightporter we met could do with some training regarding his customer service and equally it would be good if some drinking water could be available to residents, even after the bar closes.

There's lots to like about this place - it's characterful, in a terrific and central location, and the parking [though expensive] is very useful in a city which isn't car friendly. However, it is a little tired, decoratively, there are no lifts [trying to take my case up three flights of windy stairs was... interesting], and they were clearly short-staffed at the time of my visit.

Very convenient, clean and efficient hotel. The only downside was a very disappointing shower

Our lovely room felt like a B&B. We opened the window. I don't think our room was air-conditioned. Excellent location by the river and Jesus Green, and walkable from Bridge Street. We enjoyed dinner and happy hour
