Hyatt Centric Cambridge

The rooms are spacious and have a fresh, modern look. Our room was clean overall, but unfortunately one of the bins still contained rubbish from previous guests, which was disappointing and off-putting. While the towels appeared clean, they lacked a fresh scent, something both I and my son—who stayed in a separate room—noticed. The hotel is visually appealing but lacks practical functionality. For instance, a double room was equipped with only one chair, and there was no convenient space with a mirror suitable for hair drying. On a hot day, the room’s thermostat couldn’t be set below 19°C, and with no operable windows (likely for safety reasons), there was little to no fresh air circulation, which made the room feel stuffy. Regarding parking, it’s misleading to state it costs £20 a day. The actual parking is limited to a maximum of 4 hours during the day, so it’s not possible to park for an entire day even if you’re willing to pay. However, parking is free from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next day, and there is a nearby Park and Ride option that allows up to 18 hours of free parking. Will not come back.

The hotel takes some finding as it isn't well sign posted at all. There is no illuminated signage outside the hotel entrance So it's difficult to spot especially after dark. I couldn't find anywhere to park, so pulled up outside the front door and jumped out to ask receptionist where the car park was. I was advised they did have a car park but i should have pre booked as it was full! But there was a park and ride he could give me directions for!!! Not what you want to hear after a long day. The hotel itself was fine. The restaurant looked ok but the menu was fine dining and very expensive. Certainly not within the average companies food allowance that's for sure. Ended up eating next door at Dutch which was nice.

Great hotel. But it was a shame that Hotels.com didn’t share that it was £20 for parking for the evening.

They listened! This is my go to hotel when I visit Cambridge. A large part of that is because they have EV charging in the parking garage. Usually it was 40p/kW. The time before it had gone up to 70p/kW. I complained to the hotel not expecting anything to happen because the chargers aren't run by them. But on this visit the price had changed to 55p/kW. Ok it isn't back to 40p/kW, but it is a more reasonable price. Hotel itself is still great

Excellent rooms, great bar and cafe and a good small gym. Restaurant as well. They also have secure bicycle storage if needed.

Stayed here a couple of times, great hotel. Modern and very convenient. Great that they have underground parking with EV charging. Food in the bar is limited but tastes great.

It was a beautiful hotel, the staff were very friendly. The rooftop terrace and pizzas offer a brilliant view and taste very very good.

Excellent and spacious rooms, stuff is polite and courteous. Easy to find and adequate parking in and around the property. Brilliant rooftop Oscar, Pizza and bar. Excellent food options around with a sansbury superstore on 2 minutes walk. Quiet and peaceful.

This is my go to hotel when I’m in Cambridge. Rooms are great and functional. Except there is no desk to work on, just a small table. Staff are great and I enjoy the Dutch bar. Another thing I like is the underground parking with EV charging. The EV charging was always a reasonable price, 40p/kW. On this stay I found the price had increased to 70p/kW. It’s not even a fast charger. Very disappointing.

Terrible housekeeping and cleanliness in the room We stayed more than a week and room was cleaned only twice and both times standard of cleanliness was not up to any 2 stars hotel and we did inform team many times to clean and change linen and was not done till we had to officially complain. We understand the rule of changing the linen every 3 days and this is what we were requesting and linen was changed first three nights and after that linen was not changed till 8th night which was only one day before we check out following day

The room was spacious and spotless. Best bed I've ever slept in (even mine at home) with good quality bedding and pillows. Lovely place to stay.

I have given bottom marks for cleanliness, this is why; as pensioners we can very occasionally suffer a 'leak' in bed, so we travel with bed protection which goes under the sheet. At bedtime on the first night, turning down the sheet revealed on the mattress topper the stains of bodily fluids of previous occupant(s); this was reported the next morning and the mattress topper was removed but NOT replaced. That was reported after the second night (and as a gesture of goodwill, the £40 parking charge was credited). Reception counter staff were helpful after both complaints. I am unhappy and marked 0/5 because the HOUSEKEEPING processes are clearly inadequate; chambermaids need to be better trained and fresh mattress toppers have to be available. I'm sure each chambermaid does her best, but I suggest that management have to run a tighter and better hotel. The draught at the front door is awful, leaves blew in constantly and it's very cold sitting anywhere near there. What about building an inner doorway and putting in overheat radial heating?

Sink did not drain . Room was not cleaned at all during my stay of 2 nights

This is our favourite place to stay. Spotless rooms, friendly staff and a good night’s sleep.

Cleanliness was an issue in the room, Couple spots on the carpet where it hadn’t been cleaned properly, bathroom also had lots of hard water stains on shower head, staff were friendly however, beds comfy - just a few unclean bits

We had a lovely stay. The bed was very comfortable and we found the staff were so accommodating. We had a drink at the rooftop terrace, I was cold and the staff offered me a blanket and turned the heaters on which was lovely! The breakfast was also fantastic! The only things we feel were lacking for a 4 star hotel was the drink choice in the room; it would have been nice to have bottled water and hot chocolate, particularly as the bottled water was free when we asked for some. It would have been nice to have a few biscuits available as well. We also found that the towels smelt very musty - as if they had been left damp. The smell was very obvious!

Overall a good place to stay. Easy bus link into central Cambridge too. Close to the new Cavendish Laboratory also. Air Conditioning cannot be adjusted below 19degC.

Huge comfortable bed, standard king room was a great size, best of all zero noise outside the room, not a sound. Great choice of breakfast food, all very fesh, reasonable price. Parking on site and a bus stop accross the road takes you into central Cambridge or station.

The overall experience was positive. The hotel looks newly built and is tastefully designed and decorated in the MCM style, which we appreciated. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. The main king-size bed was excellent, but the additional sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. My 20-year-old son had a terrible night and suffered from back pain for a few days. Overall, it was a good experience, but don’t ask my son about it! Or, if you’re looking for a more comfortable stay, consider getting two rooms instead of one.

Very comfortable room, spacious and stylish.

Arrived 3:00pm to cold room, adjusted air conditioning to heat mode with no response or improvement in temp. Notified reception and they came to adjust saying should improve in 10-15 minutes No improvement and notified reception if no change we are leaving. Left at 6:00pm

This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. The staff were very professional and very friendly - there is a lovely relaxed vibe about the place. Our room was ready when we arrived and an early complimentary check is was offered - we really appreciate this and it was lovely start to our stay. The hotel was easy to find - well organised parking arrangements, we pre booked a space. We had a deluxe room with courtyard view. This is one of the most spacious hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. The room was well organised and designed. - mini fridge, tea and coffee, ironing board, fluffy towels, and toiletries. The pizzas available to order from the rooftop Terrace are an absolute must. One of the nicest pizzas I have ever had! The options for food and drink at this hotel suit every budget. There’s the option of dining in the restaurant for breakfast or grabbing a lighter bite at the café. The rooftop terrace is also a lovely place to enjoy your drink.Our visit was in February so although it was a little chilly, it was still a pleasant visit. There are blankets and electric heaters. We had a lovely nights sleep, the super king bed was perfectly comfortable! The hotel was very quiet. We were not disturbed by slamming hotel doors or noise from outside. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.

Great location, comfort and staff. Only downside was no desks in the rooms.

Kim at reception was excellent-despite long queues she remembered my booking and had everything ready for me to check-in, with the correct room configuration. There was no early-check-in charges. The room was well provided for, with complimentary tea/hot chocolate/ peppermint tea, biscuits, toiletries ( (all high quality). Matt came to help set up the sofa bed. He also assisted me with the wifi and other queries, most efficient and helpful. All in all, a great place to stay.

I would have concluded that this was a great neat hotel with good dining options and great bars but safety above everything else. We were rudely awakened by fire alarms. We evacuated in our PJ. Fire alarm was faulty and kept going in and out. I initially called front desk no answer so we proceeded to exit. We were left outside for about an hour. No one came to address us or brief us about if it was an actual fire or false alarm. We were left standing out in the cold in our PJ’s and every staff who passed by walked leisurely by without answering questions for guests. Only about 30 of us had actually evacuated. No one went in to make sure people evacuated/took guest count. Staff just carried on like we didn’t exist. Questions to staff in the kitchen were brushed off as they carried on their tasks through the sounding alarm. No apologies, no explanations, nothing. After standing outside for a while, we all went back inside. Still no explanation. Found out later that there was an actual fire because a guest “decided to toast their croissants 3 times”. My concern is that in an actual serious fire situation, there is no procedure in place to ensure guest safety, ensure complete evacuation or keep you apprised of updates. You’re on your own. What shocked most was when I address this at check out, I was dismissed and guests blamed for choosing to stand outside as in we did that to ourselves. I will never stay in such an unsafe place. Very serviceminded staff, thank you so much for helping me store and manage quite an amount of luggage. The stay itself and the surroundings were very pleasant.

Lovely stay but a couple of issues checking in with one member of staff who didn’t really help or know about parking etc. Cafe closed on the Sunday morning as machine wasn’t working. And issues around wanting an alternative to what was on offer for breakfast. Room was very clean and comfortable.

Hotel was struggling to provide key cards on check-in, waited in the queue for 25 min. Before arrival, I requested a feather free room. Unfortunately room that was provided had feathers in duvet and pillows with feathers. Housekeeping arrived to the room to change the duvet, ended up leaving and coming back twice to get it changed. On the last attempt, I gave up and left the room as it still was not correct. Room was not serviced on first day even though I requested it through the housekeeping.

Great hotel, let down a little by the reception staff, who were nice but clueless.

Unfortunately there was no menu in the room for evening meal. It took reception 45 minutes to bring one. An hour spent thereafter trying to get through to room service and reception to order dinner and the lines just rang out. I had to make do with a sandwich from Sainsbury’s!

This is our go to hotel in Cambridge when we come to visit our daughter at the University. Secure parking, really big rooms and great shower. A quick 10 min Uber ride from City centre and easy to get out on to the A14 and A1M. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel in a city which ain’t cheap to stay in this represents good vfm!

New hotel , with clean , modern and spacious rooms . It is not really easily walkable to the city centre ( takes 35-40 mins ) , but there are bikes , and it’s only an 5 mins Uber ride into town . Will stay again as it’s good value for the price we paid .

Great location

We were only here for a night but it was a lovely stay. Room was clean and we were able to get free bikes or a free bus pass into the city. The area was also nice and quiet.

We like the room very spacious and clean the bus stop is very close which makes it easy to get into central Cambridge and the free day bus ticket is a nice touch the breakfast is very nice and the restaurant is not that busy with plenty of room the car parking is convenient being part of the hotel you just need to book it before you arrive all the staff were friendly and helpful a very nice place to stay

The Hyatt Centric is clearly very new and in incredibly good state, the rooms are large and clean, the area it is in is new and quiet. It is slightly out of the way from central Cambridge but the bus stop right outside the hotel. The staff were friendly and the new rooftop bar is a good addition.

Great hotel. Very easy to get into Cambridge with park and ride bus. Lovely bakery round the corner.

The hotel has a great feel to it. It was our first stay here and we would definitely stay there again. We had a warm welcome and an explanation of how the hotel worked and what time breakfast worked in the morning . It felt relaxed and the nearby park and ride was also very helpful to get into the city centre. Highly recommend

Whilst the hotel is a couple of miles from the city centre, the bus service was very good & right outside - the free voucher was much appreciated. Only suggestion would be better coffee in the room, either a nespresso machine (or similar) or even just coffee bags.

everything as expected from a Hyatt. Particularly recommend the rooftop bar. Newly opened with a great group of young people set to make a great venue. Very friendly and helpful and serve great Pizza.

Hotel was great, did not expect to pay for parking as it said parking and was not clear a charge for parking under the hotel on site. cost £15 for overnight, Dining room was good, had lunch and evening meal. We booked breakfast, a full English, but cooked a long time ahead, even though down for breakfast soon after opening time. Bacon hard and rubbery has was the eggs, not a very good breakfast and at the cost should have been fresh. Better to go to Sainsburys across the road for breakfast. Everything great, but unexpected parking charge and rubbery breakfast.

Had a nice stay, got upgraded due to an unavailability issue and the room was a very nice standard. The breakfast was a bit expensive and just quite average however the evening meal was decent. Staff were generally quote friendly and pleasant

Good location, new hotel with nice rooms. Bathroom was nice, clean, and very functional. The front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful and nice. We appreciated their efforts to make our stay even better. Breakfast is nice and, at £18 per person, not expensive. All in all, a nice hotel that we will visit again.

Great hotel bar was shut in a Friday night at 6.30pm and restaurant where we had breakfast was a bit tired and coffee machine not working so couldn’t get a decent coffee.

Our only complaint is that the restaurants and bars in the hotel close at 10pm and that was on a Saturday night.

Good size room and bathroom. Quality fittings and decoration. Great breakfast options. Evening meal options nearby. Only negatives were parking opportunities at the hotel. Deluge Shower head could do with a descale, due to water jet going all over the place (apart from down!).

Great hotel, restaurant was closed so we went into town, and I didn’t get charged for parking. Breakfast was expensive so I went to a bakery round the corner. Nice hotel, friendly reception, parking could be better sign posted. Wasn’t sure if I could park on the road, reception said they take no responsibility which is fair enough, but I didn’t want to risk getting clamped so parked under the hotel which would have cost £15.
