Property was conveniently located for Cardiff town centre attractions. Staff friendly and helpful. Discounted Car parking nearby worked well. Its an old hotel but does have character and our room was quiet. No lifts may be a problem for some guests. It was good value and I would use it again for another visit to Cardiff

We choose to stay at this family run hotel because it was in a very central convienient location. There is😀NCP parking very near for which the hotel offered a discount code making it much more affordable . Although we did not have the breakfast it was available at a very respectable price. The rooms are a good size and clean with everything you need. The hotel is tired and could absolutely do with a refurbishment for sure and you would struggle if you had mobility problems but it suited us really . We had a good night's sleep and the staff were very friendly.

Easy to find, very safe as locked front entrance, very conveniently placed ,family run,24 hr front desk,comfortable room,no issues at all,second time of staying, good value, bit old style but great for me and would highly recommend and will be staying again.

Fantastic location, you literally step out into the centre. Great value for money but be warned, there are quite a few steps to get up to reception and then your room as there is no lift.

The property is old building but overall clean and good. Just one thing pity is no own parking. You have to park nearby NCP parking lot which was quite expensive but you can get discount code at hotels. The parking is the only issue. Hotel location is just at the center of the city. Close to shopping mall and the castle.

Really easy to check in and find my room. No lift available, and quite steep stairs. Facilities were quite dated, but clean, and with such a central location it was perfect for my stay. Plus the discounted parking was a bonus.

Great location, right in the heart of the main resurant and shops, yet quiet. The staff were so friendly and helpful. A big thanks to the lovely lady on reception when we arrived making the stay relaxing and enjoyable. The property while of a older vintage is clean, warm and the bed was super comfortable. Diisounted parking in public parking close by was available. . Property has no parking access out front as on the walking only part of the shops. There are also steps, no lift. Secure front aceess too. I would stay again. Thanks very much to the staff for making our stay memorable in Cardiff.

It's an old but well kept property bang in the city centre with shops, restaurants, pubs, the central train & bus stations nearby. It's so accessible that we had no need for transportation at all. The major drawbacks are that breakfast isn't available on week days and the hotel has no elevator, so get ready to log your heavy luggage all the way up flights of creaky stairs.

Very friendly staff. Only downside is no lift and lots of steps but was aware of this before stay and not a problem with me. Deco a bit dated and found strange had to leave room key in hotel. Overall happy with stay and would stay again

Staff were lovely!!!!! Hotel is run down. Our room, looked out to a wall. There were cobwebs in the corners, the sides had not been cleaned properly. The bath room, shower holder was broken. There was black spots in the silicon around the taps. The wall paper was coming away from the walls. Needs to be cleaned better particularly around the stair cases. The french lady on the front desk, was such a delight. She was so helpful and was very friendly. No breakfast during weekday, but being on high Street this wasnt an issue. We didnt complain, as staff were working their behinds off and were genuinely trying.

This hotel is badly in need of a refit. The room I had was not very clean and very old tired furniture. Bathroom light a horrible industrial stark light whilst the room lights were very dark. Very shabby and would look great after a refit

What stood out the most was the receptionist from the moment we arrived think her name was Alison (the blonde one. ) She was very friendly and helpful, our room was clean and tidy and we would definitely book again thank you so much.

No soap in toilet only shower gel in bathroom. Safety notice regarding hot water has taps wrongly labelled. If description had been accurate I would not have booked this hotel.

Lovely old accommodation. Lovely host. The building is old so it’s quite noisy (bring earplugs works well) Our shower didn’t really work well, so we could only use the bathtub. It’s in the city center which makes it perfect to go around Cardiff. We liked our stay!

Check in was easy with a 24 hour front desk. It was accessible from the bus stops and an easy walk to everything that I was there to see. Staff/owners were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Property was creaky in the floorboards and there was little sound insulation. If visiting at a busy time bring ear plugs.

Clean, cosy room. Good heating, comfy bed, tea and coffee supplies and very friendly and helpful receptionists and night staff. I would request a quiet room next time as ours was very noisy- overlooking one of the busiest streets in Cardiff. Also unfortunate that there are noisy, traffic calming measures right outside.

All staff were so lovely and welcoming during my stay. I really liked that the property operates a system where everytime you leave, you drop off your room key to avoid losing it out and about and recollect on return. 24/7 reception great for people on the go and nightlife. Would stay here again. Thank you for the great experience!

Had a fantastic stay at the Sandringham. We travelled by train and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the station. It is also centrally located so again all local attractions and bars and restaurants within walking distance. It is also easy to get a bus to and from Cardiff Bay from a bus stop just down the road. Rooms are basic but have everything you need and more supplies of tea/coffee etc are easily available from reception. There is no lift, but this did not cause us a problem. On arrival a member of staff actually carried our case to the room for us. Great value for money. What really made our stay here so great though was Alison on reception and all of the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful to me and my autistic son. They really went the extra mile. Would definitely recommend and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

It was a great location, 5-10 minute walk from Cardiff Central train station. Very busy street so just be aware if you are staying at the weekend. The windows were fab though, you could barely hear anything with them closed. It may be a little dated, but so clean and very comfortable. Plenty of towels, and all the necessities such as hair dryer, kettle and drinks. The staff were so helpful, letting us store our luggage after checkout so we could go shopping. 5 minute walk from Cardiff Castle, 10 minute walk from the National Museum. They had a map for us, gave local information. Would recommend, and already have! Would stay again and book direct with the hotel next time as much nicer to deal with a real person in my opinion. Overall, lovely stay, beds so comfy we slept in almost til checkout time!

Great location! Right in the heart of Cardiff. Cardiff castle is about 5 minute walk and you’ll walk past about a dozen pubs and dozen shops on the walk there. The property does not have an elevator and it is a bit of a hike if you’re staying on the top floor, but other than that this was the perfect location for our stay!

Helpful and friendly staff. Hotel very well situated near to the Principality Stadium. As we were in the front there was some noise from the bars in the street outside but it didn’t take us long to get to sleep! Lovely breakfast and catered for gluten free

This was my second stay at the Sandringham Hotel. It is not fancy, but it was clean & the staff were friendly. There is a decent cooked breakfast available on the weekends. It is a short 5 minute walk from Cardiff Central Train Station. There is no lift, & the hotel reception is upstairs from the street.
