A lovely location. Very easy to walk to the restaurant and attractions in the Bay (eg Millennium Centre, Techniquest). The staff were all very welcoming. Plenty of space in our room with a lovely view of the water. Breakfast was very tasty. The pool was a good size.

the exterior does look tired the foyer is lovely . our room was nice with an awesome view across the bay but having two women sharing a room we noticed a severe lack of plugs for hair and phone room wasn’t much better than a premier inn room … bathroom is tired and needs an overhaul … my biggest let down was the spa … small pool … to get into the hydra pool you had to climb up the ladder and then down the other side …. not ideal for the older person … reception was extremely pleasant and helpful … tho i am still waiting for my deposit to be returned to my bank account 4 days after leaving … will have to chase i think

Receptionist was very friendly on check in. Room was clean and spacious with a lovely view. Bed was comfy, shower was hot though being tall the rainfall shower head was a bit low. Slept very well despite a party going on downstairs. Breakfast was good quality, with plenty of choice, though they did run out of some of the hot food and there was a bit of a wait to refill. Pool area was nice, plenty of room and multiple wellness facilities (sauna, jacuzzi, hydrotherapy), though could do with more chairs/places to leave towels and robes.

Really nice stay here. The pool & sauna was nice. Room was great & with a lovely view. Cocktails in the bar. David on the front desk was such a lovely guy. Very friendly & welcoming, as with all the staff. Would recommend & stay again

Lovely staff. Really nice hotel. View from window was amazing. Breakfast was brilliant. The only thing I would say what needs improving is the bathrooms a little updating. Room 506. Tiles seem a bit dated and could do with a good ( ones on side of bath joining to the floor) clean. Apart from that room was lovely.

It was our first time staying at the Voco St Davids and we had such high hopes. The staff at check-in were a little robotic and preoccupied but polite nonetheless. Upon entry, the entry is beautifully and tastefully decorated with modern dark undertones; however, that is lost as you enter the upper floors and rooms. Our room was comfortable, but it wasn't very uninviting (nothing like the hotel's entry). The furniture was very dated and tired, with chips and scuff marks all over the side table, and the sideboard was a little dirty. There were very few options for drinks in the room and the coffee machine just wouldn't work. The door and frame which opened onto the balcony were a little dirty. The bathroom was the real letdown in this hotel, it is so old and dated it's almost embarrassing. The small light mirror is dated 1997 (original sticker), made of plastic and so discoloured it needs replacing. The shower head wasn't very clean but nothing extreme. A telephone in the bathroom (right next to the toilet) was very confusing and I could not see the purpose for this. We ordered Breakfast for our room and I have to say it wasn't amazing! It arrived on time by a lovely member of staff however, the trolley on which breakfast arrived was a very old trolley. The white tablecloth arrived stained with orange juice and what looked like coffee or brown sauce!? We won't stay here again as it wasn't to our liking, it's not the worst hotel but by our standards, it's not 5* worthy.

The St Davids used to be a very upmarket prestige hotel. However, since my last visit the hotel is shoung awful signs of age.i stayed in room 122. The bathroom smelt very musty, the main room area had unidentified dorty marks on the carpet, walls and ceiling. Dining atnthe hotel wasnt the greatest experibec with staff failing to tend tables in a timely manner. Overall poor service amd dirty room. The prices St Davids charge you wouod have thought the hotel would be kept in tip.top condition.

The hotel looks very nice. Lovely rooms, comfortable pillows and bed. Everything is perfectly clean and well maintained. Staff are so accommodating. Spa is very big and luxurious. Sauna might be the best I have been in. I can’t fault it and I would come back for sure.

A very lovely and beautiful hotel. Staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Spa treatment the best we've had so far and worth. Spectacular view from our bedroom which we got upgraded to.. Will definitely stay again No free parking so we paid parking but easy access to public transport and short taxi trips to cardiff centre. We did not have dinner in the hotel but the breakfast was good Very crean

Gorgeous location and lovely hotel, huge doors seem luxurious! Some tired elements-stained bedroom carpet, poor shower drainage. Lovely to have use of robes but they were far too small and apparently very few XL available which seems crazy! ALL staff however courteous, knowledgeable and really motivated to please guests.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Rowan at reception was welcoming and helpful. The only thing that made the experience an 8/10 instead of a 10/10, was the room was almost unbearably hot. The air conditioning was antiquated, incredibly loud and largely ineffectual.

Nice big room, comfy bed, great view, but one major issue. I booked a suite with its own lounge, had floor to ceiling windows on two sides. Unfortunately, on arrival the room was like an oven, the aircon in the bedroom worked well, but in lounge did nothing. Phone reception and was told that the lounge aircon only heats and doesn’t chill. I queried this twice and the heat made the lounge almost unusable. After writing same on Hotels.com website, a day later a maintenance arrived and fixed the aircon in the lounge. Then all was fine, so it’s strange the hotel’s receptionists when asked twice claimed the air con in lounge didn’t aircon. Once fixed the room was great, but disappointing this took two days instead of hours, particularly when paying a big premium for suite.

Lovely hotel, perfect location in the heart of Cardiff Bay, only a 30 minute walk into Cardiff Central. Lovely big room with balcony and nice view. Buffet breakfast was really good! All members of staff were lovely.

The main positive of the hotel is its view over the Bay. But other than that, found it to be a fairly basic offering as far as hotels go and certainly not one that I would consider 5 star. It might have been so 10-15 years ago, but now it just feels like a fairly innocuous place to stay. The service in the bar/restaurant left a lot to be desired. The wait staff were well-meaning and nice, but seemed constantly confused with different people having to come back up to get clarification about orders and such. They were also somewhat disruptive overexplaining their reasons, while we were mid-conversation with clients. Additionally, I asked for a receipt to be emailed to me, which I never received. I tried to call 4 different times, and no one at reception ever answered. My call would just ring until it disconnected, so that was quite frustrating. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, but not as sharply presented as one might expect. It was all perfectly serviceable and as a place to spend a night for a business trip, then it's all you really need. But if you're expecting a luxury experience, I'd look elsewhere.

Had a good stay and my suite was fine . My problems started once I’d left. Noticed a double payment was in my pending of my bank account. Getting through to this hotel is a nightmare but eventually it was sorted via email and a computer glitch was to blame . I guess this can happen even in a 5• hotel . Then my son received a £100 pound parking fine , I’d paid for parking and it’s on my invoice. Tried to contact front desk , no answer. I contacted reservations and they tried to transfer my call to no avail . This is not what you expect from a hotel of this standard and one doesn’t need this sort of stress . This is a hotel I’ve loved to stay at before but now I’m unsure I would risk going back again . This is why my rating is so low

Condescending and sexist customer service manager ruined weekend. Minor issue escalated due to bad management. Breakfast staff and evening restaurant staff great as always. Hotel is looking tired. Cob webs in main windows. Focus now seems to be on corporate and spa which means degraded service for others. Very sad to see standards slipping.

Honestly the most enjoyable hotel stay in a long while. The hotel itself is great but the staff and the level of service is what makes this place stand head and shoulders above others. ALL of the staff from reception, to restaurant to the engineer who came to week our air con controls were just lovely and so efficient. I can’t speak highly enough of them. Thank you

We arrived a little early so went in the bar for a sandwich, the table and seating had crumbs and bits of food on them from previous use which we had to scrape / brush away. The following morning at breakfast there was again food remnants on the chairs and table. The evening bar staff were unable to charge anything to my room without it being an issue when i tried to get drinks for myself and my wife so i had to keep paying by card when i had already put a deposit in at reception for sundry items. The reception staff were very good as were most of the dining room / bar staff. The bedroom was excellent as were the other facilities at the hotel and it is well placed to walk into the city or the many bars / restaurants near by.

Loved the view from the room of Cardiff bay, the staff are friendly and helpful, the room was clean spacious and comfortable. Location was with in walking distance to bar’s restaurant and attractions. Best hotel breakfast I have had, so much choice. We will definitely be back.

If you're looking for a city break in Cardiff then Cardiff Bay is a great location. I especially liked the location of voco St David's because it has the wetlands nature reserve on one side where you can sit and enjoy birdsong and a low key beauty. And on the other side it has pubs, bars, chain restaurants, statues, interesting buildings like the Parliament and the church where Ronald Dahl was christened. The rooms have a floor to ceiling window leading to a balcony with a great view over the bay. Balcony doors are heavy and if you go out at night to take a picture wear shoes. I was in flip flops and skinned my big toe on the door. I'm clumsy, it's not the door. The spa is included for guests. I didn't book treatments but I did enjoy the large swimming pool and the hydrotherapy pool. It's excellent. Clean, spacious, friendly spa staff. I even went down the next morning and got a plaster for my toe from the spa reception. I had breakfast in my room. Can recommend. I ordered vegetarian sausages hoping they would be traditional Glamorgan sausages and they were! The food was perfectly seasoned but I wish they had put a salt and pepper shaker on the tray. I like extra pepper on my eggs and extra salt on my fried mushrooms. That did not stop me from eating every mouthful. It was very well cooked and seas

Great facilities. Had lunch, dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The food was amazing and great service. We had a treatment and used all the spa facilities. I had a massage with Hema and she was amazing! I would definately book in with Hema again. All the staff were so helpful and welcoming.

Receptionist very helpful, room and view lovely, excellent shower; only let down by 'missing' staff at breakfast. Literally had to find someone to welcome us in/show to a table. Agreed, it was busy due to half-term, but surely that could have been provisioned for?

The room we stay was fine but surely not at the 5 stars quality compare to many others 5 stars hotel I have stayed before. The room was abit aged, coffee cups got coffee marks which need to be washed before use. Second night we didn’t have hot water which wasn’t impress. Breakfast was nice, a lot of options. However, dinner foods were the opposite. We had grilled chicken burgers and the chicken breast was very dry but the chips was nice. For what they charged for the foods definitely not worth.

The accommodation and the Spa were amazing. All staff were freindly and helpful apart from one Bar person who thought it ok to add a service charge on drinks without asking and justify this by saying he didnt get paid much and needed to pay his rent! The liftf were slow and 1 not working Otherwise food was great and overall had an excellent stay

Everything was perfect. Everything was just so slick from check in to the bar to breakfast which was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had. The host at breakfast was lovely and that pancake machine was something else! Cannot wait to come back The room was absolutely stunning.
