Great place to stay and staff all so helpful. We were so happy with the Guest Laundry and the 11am checkout as we managed to get all our laundry done before we left. Was brilliant . Easy walking distance to all the eateries /shops at the Dock .

Excellent check in, although very busy they were quick & effficient. Hotel is very clean and rooms are very well maintained. Staff are incredibly helpful & very polite. Restaurant is excellent as well. Only hiccup was getting stuck in the lift due to a technical issue. This was however dealt with quickly & efficiently by the in house team & reception staff.

While our room had all the usual facilities, the carpet, curtains and bathroom were all of sub-standard cleanliness - stains/dirt on the carpet and curtains, and dirty marks on the bathroom floor and door. In addition the sink was blocked. We reported this when we left for the evening and were told that this would be sorted by the time we returned, but it was not. The TV remote only seemed to be able to turn on and off the TV and adjust the volume, it was not possible to view the TV guide or select different channels. Also there was noise from the dual carriageway outside which continued all night.

I am flabbergasted by future in. Absolutely disgusting. If I didn’t have an epileptic friend and two autistic daughters I would not have spent a minute longer than I have to in this place. There are worms coming out of grate in the bathroom. They maybe white but I am going to say it is a worm because if it is a maggot I will not be able to deal with it

I’ve stayed at Future Inn Cardiff many times over the years and have always found it a reliable and comfortable place to stay. Unfortunately, this recent visit was by far the worst experience I’ve had here. The room itself wasn’t great — the walk-in shower was poor, and when I went to unplug my phone charger from the bedside fitting, the whole socket came away from the wall. Around our room, bottles and plates from other guests were left in the corridor from the afternoon and were still there the next morning when we checked out. Overall, the hotel just didn’t feel as clean or as well-kept as it has been in the past. It’s lost that polished, well-run feel I’ve come to expect. I was due to stay again in a few weeks’ time, but at around £450 for one night in a similar room, I’ve decided to cancel. I’ll drive to Cardiff and back rather than pay that much for what no longer feels like good value.

The room was generally clean however there was a chocolate bar on the floor by the window which made us wonder what else might have been missed. The toilet seat was really lose and the bathroom door lock was broken. Since it was just the two or us we didn't left it

Great hotel. Staff very good. Bed super comfy. I just found the room too hot. The air conditioning was making a lot of noise but didn’t seem to cool the room. So I didn’t sleep very well sadly.

Large room with two double beds which was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. Beds very comfy - soft and firmer pillows. Big desk space - ideal if you wanted to work and, as well as the aircon the window could be opened. Good quality laundered towels, bathrobes available and free parking. 10-15 minutes walks to Cardiff Bay. Would recommend to all types of travellers. I didn’t eat here but the bar staff and reception staff friendly and efficient. Also ice machines for guests - added bonus.

Overall a pretty tired property albeit clean. The WiFi did not work for most of our stay and when it did, it was not useable for working. My video calls were poor quality and documents and sites took a long time to load which made it very difficult for working. Service from staff was good. Breakfast was fine. Would have been acceptable at the normal rate of £69 but to charge £400 per night was extortionate.

Rooms very hot. Air con didnt really work and the first room we were in didnt have a window you could open. We asked to be moved rooms to one with a window which wasnt a problem at all. The window only opened inches! Breakfast too expensive. No fans available

Service was absolutely appalling. Extremely rude staff upon arrival. We were forced to pay an additional £30 for another adult to stay at the property even though I had originally booked for 3 adults to stay at the hotel. It was a special 60th birthday surprise for my mum and she ended up in tears from the rudeness of staff on reception. We were passed from one member of staff to another which took around 40 minutes to resolve the issue despite having a young child with us who was getting very stressed. Staff very rude when asked for additional milk and towels even though we had upgraded to a suite. Additionally, I booked for the sofa bed to be made up for my Aunty and called the hotel to ensure the request would be accommodated. Despite this, on arrival, the sofa bed was NOT made and we had to wait a further 30 minutes for a bed to be made up. Would not recommend this hotel.

Location good. Reception staff at check-in not overly welcoming. Did not smile. Went through the process of checking us in, but we then had to ask what time room would be available and also about parking. Phone in room wasnt working so came back down to tell her as we wanted to order room service. Told us to fiddle with the lead. I explained that I had tried that but not working. She said she would sent maintainance, but nobody came so i had to go down to bar to order room service.

Shocking stay. Queued for an hour to check in, no hot water in the room and no functional phone to call down to reception to report the problem. I have followed this up with hotel for a refund and they have accepted that all the problems were there but ‘unable to offer me a refund’ they have offered a complimentary upgrade for a future stay. I will never use this hotel again awful experience

Upon arrival, the receptionist on duty did not acknowledge us and continued to carry on with whatever he was doing on the computer. Eventually, when he did acknowledge us, we were greeted with a very blunt 'Next!' and he continued in this manner throughout the check-in process. Even the person waiting behind us looked at us and raised eyebrows in regards to how we were treated. Another member of the reception staff assisted us later on with ordering us a taxi, very helpful, thank you. The room was very basic and not overly clean, beds very uncomfortable. Positives were the room was spacious and the air conditioning was a god send during the heatwave! Reception area and bar very clean and inviting, pleasant bar staff. We did not eat so unable to comment on the food. This hotel is not a 4 star in our opinion.

A short drive into the city (or about 30min walk). Good location to explore Cardiff, the Bay and surrounding areas. Nice comfortable room, free parking (always a bonus!) and breakfast included (though we didn’t partake due to an early start and late awakening) The cost was higher than would have liked but it was central and it was an International weekend.

fleeting visit to cardiff, and booked this hotel. not heard of before. but impressed rooms that we had were massive, comfortable. and cannot fault for price we paid. definitely will use again when in cardiff again. easy walk to mermaid bay and the lovely eateries there and the beautiful theatre. did not grab food in hotel as previous things booked elsewhere . but looked good from what i saw. thank you

Lovely hotel, well appointed and a nice room However, had to queue to check in, and again at breakfast. Bed is quite hard and the shower pressure is terrible (on sixth floor). Staff lovely, friendly, helpful. Plenty of parking. Lovely bar area and the breakfast was good.

Amazing location, lots to do by hotel and free parking is a win win. Train station within walking distance, Cardiff city around 20-25min walk. Lots of eateries within walking distance. Hotel room very spacious with everything you need. Hotel staff very helpful & friendly. Hotel bar nice with reasonable prices. Had food in bar on first night which was nice, ordered a pizza on third night which was awful, tasted like a frozen one, definitely not a freshly made one and at £16 I was not happy. Complained to waiter who said he would get the chef but he never came. Have had better pizzas from Iceland! That is the only criticism I have on the hotel, everything else was superb and I’d definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay but i was not prepared to pay £15/£17.50 for breakfast i found that was taking advantage when i could walk around the corner and pay £7 in Wetherspoons.I have had breakfast in this hotel before and although very nice i will not pay that.Maybe it is time for us to start looking for different accommodation in Cardiff in the future.Very disappointed that we had to leave without having breakfast!😡

Had our second two night stay at the Future Inn and had a great time once again. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast has lots of choice and items are refreshed regularly so great no matter what time you show up. We treated ourselves to room service and had a very tasty pizza one night. We will be back.

Stayed in family room. Loved an idea of double beds rather than pull out sofa beds for kids. Room was spacious. Free parking was a bonus. Will stay there again. Hotel restaurant was disappointing. Ordered pizza and burger. Burger was ok. Pizza tasted exactly like Domino’s frozen one from the supermarket for £5, but charged £15 here . When asked they confirmed they do not make tgem. Wouldn’t go back to that restaurant and pay those prices for “cook from frozen” food.

Not attractive setting opposite industrial area and building site but clearly a development area. Restaurant dinner was disappointing and service was slow - dishes were not cleared during breakfast which was basic but ok.
