The lack of parking is annoying - you have to pay full price at the neighbouring mutlistorey - we ended up paying £30 odd quid for our overnight stay. Malmaison should at the very least have some kind of deal arranged with them. The room was a bit tired, and needed a revamp - very dark too - made it hard to see when doing your makeup and hair. Undwerwhelming overall. Lovely staff though.

The hotel was beautiful, staff warm and welcoming. Parking is recommended on the hotel website at the carpark next door however, this is very expensive and you do not receive a discount from Malmaison. I would recommend doing your home work on alternative parking although it was safe and manned.

Great room overlooking river. Unfortunately I paid in full two weeks before and would have saved over £150 booking two days in advance. Printed menu did not look exciting but food was excellent--one of the best meals we had over the three days. Parking is expensive!!

Lovely hotel with a great bar and restaurant. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food was very good and the service was superb in the restaurant. Room was nice, but unfortunately we had a rear view onto ugly buildings rather than a river view.

Major Building work was taking place to the restaurant and bar, which nobody was informed about prior to their stay ( we spoke to other people who confirmed they hadn’t received notification). The temporary bar was tiny and the restaurant was a converted conference room, with limited menu for breakfast and dinner. Really poor service that this wasn’t notified in advance, as the stay was really spoilt by not being able to access the lovely bar and restaurant we’d enjoyed during previous visits. We’d brought friends on our recommendation too, so it was really disappointing.

Lovely location just a short walk into the City Centre and Docks. Rooms are lovely and I personal love the massive baths. Parking is pricey though as hotel doesn’t offer a discount for guests but car park is right next door to the hotel. Would highly recommend

Not a 4 star hotel, outside there was cigarette buts everywhere and an ash tray left on the table full for 2 days. staff are amazing especially breakfast staff 2 Latvian ladies were superb and a credit to the hotel. Scottish reception manager extremely helpful he sorted the toilets out, after the whole floor around the urinals was soaked with urine. The room 207 was dated the bed was two single mattress which sank in the middle and had a musky smell. The room was also very dark. Bathroom room dark and shower looked dark and dirty see photos, the picture says it all. Zoom in on the drain very dirty.

We had decided to upgrade our overnight Monday stay at Malmaison to the highest grade in a double room, which was a club deluxe double. We checked in after 3pm as instructed. Upon entering our room we initially felt something was wrong. The shower looked like it had been used immediately before we arrived. There was a used towel on the rack. One bottle of water was missing and there were no coffee cups alongside the machine. The last resident had also left their nectar card in the room key slot by the door. We were leaving for a meal in town straight away, and so went to reception on our way out and informed them of this. The lady on reception was very nice andapologetic,and asked if we wanted to move rooms. We confirmed we would like this if possible. The manger on reception then said, this was not possible. They said the room would be seen to immediately. We returned a few hours later. Our room has been serviced and there was a voucher for four hotel drinks on the table. We were very grateful for the drinks vouchers but disappointed we were not moved after check in.

Good hotel facilities let down by poor service and unusually for chain hotel, hygiene, especially in the bar/restaurant. Bar staff failing to clear tables. Using poor practices to taste cocktails and handle ice. We were in the restaurant and one of our friends asked for piece of lime and barman delivered 2 pieces in his hands, he then placed it on the table next to the drink! Why he hadn’t put it in a glass or on a plate was a surprise. Not the sort of thing you expect from a restaurant selling a steak for £50! On another occasion bar man finished a cocktail, licked his fingers as he put a bottle back on the shelf and then he immediately handled some ice into a glass. The bar team looked professional, but the hygiene discipline is very poor. Later in the evening restaurant bar team not willing to make Expresso Martini and more interested in re-stocking than serving remaining customers. I could understand if we were intoxicated, but we we’re two families!

Lovely place. Shame the toilets in the restaurant were not up to the quality of the rest of the hotel (toioet paper all over floor, sinks out of order, dirty hand dryers). The hotel is a regular place for us to visit when we come to Liverpool and is always a treat.

This was a massive disappointment from the start, the room as neglected with filth under the bed and threadworm carpets. We went to the bar it was filthy beyond worlds fish and chip boxes and lots garbage. We orders a cocktail waited for 10 mins then the “barman” said we’re not finishing the old fashion off with a smoke dome as I’m too busy it cost £26. He then gave us a load of attitude.: it wasn’t a good experience the weakest it looks like this Hotel have given up.

We were a little disappointed with the quality of the room. For a 4 star hotel and £237 a night for a standard room, we expected a higher standard of cleanliness. There was a musty smell in the corridor and room. The headboard was filthy with stains. The extractor in the bathroom was covered in mould. The room was in a general poor condition. Had food in the bar area, seabass was full of bones and made me unwell. I had to return it and order alternative which was t any better. The brisket was dry. Wouldn't stay here again as we didn't find it value for money

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Our room was nice just the loos don’t flush properly. Breakfast, bar food & dinner excellent. Good food at sensible prices. Only moan is public loos where toilets didn’t flush, smelled horrible (dirty mop/not clean) and it gave a dreadful first impression on arrival. Staff excellent, Jackie London

We arrived into Liverpool early and the multi-storey car park opposite was super handy, safe and secure. As we were early our Club Room was not available but we were able to leave our bags. We checked in around 16:30 and had room 622 on the 6th floor. Only one lift was in operation. When we got into Club Room it was roasting so we quickly put the key in power supply and turned the aircon onto Cool and set as low as possible 16oC. The room was clean and well presented. We showered and made our way out for tea as the room was too hot. We left a room key in the power to keep the air con and to hopefully cool before we came back. When we returned around 10pm the room was still hot but as we were knackered so hopped into bed. The bed was comfy, but only having one pillow each sucked. Our Sauna Room wasn’t cooling and by 04:30 after tossing and turning we decided enough was enough, we got up packed and checked out, nobody on the 24/hr reception, after kicking about for 5 minutes we placed the key behind the desk and began our drive back to Scotland meaning we missed the breakfast we paid for too.

We had 2 nights in the Malmaison for a wedding. Overall the hotel is lovely. We had a club room which was a good size, the bed was amazingly comfy and you can swim in the bath! The staff were friendly and efficient. There were a couple of things that could improve. Firstly the aircon wasn't very effective, the room felt stuffy and too warm. The windows don't open so no option to get any air in. Secondly the room was quite dark and the lighting not bright enough. Could do with a big mirror on the table near the window for make-up. The location is great, not too far from the centre and a nice walk in past the 3 Graces. Given the vast choice of hotels in Liverpool I'm not sure I would choose the Malmaison again, but I did enjoy my stay.

We were in the restaurant and one of our friends asked for piece of lime and barman delivered 2 pieces in his hands, he then placed it on the table next to the drink! Why he hadn’t put it in a glass or on a plate was a surprise. Not the sort of thing you expect from a restaurant selling a steak for £50! On another occasion bar man finished a cocktail, licked his fingers as he put a bottle back on the shelf and then he immediately handled some ice into a glass. The bar team looked professional, but the hygiene discipline is very poor. Later in the evening restaurant bar team not willing to make Expresso Martini and more interested in re-stocking than serving remaining customers. I could understand if we were intoxicated, but we we’re two families!

Lovely hotel & room, reception staff excellent, meal in restaurant excellent it was 50%off steaks (only reason we booked as very expensive £40 to £50 ) but when we got the bill only one of the steaks in the offer we were not advised of this when ordering, we did complain but had no feedback at all this left us feeling very disappointed and spoilt a lovely meal

Malmaison is located in a great spot on the Mersey river. Close to the shopping centre and many landmarks. Was 40 mins walk to the new Everton Stadium which was the purpose of my stay.

Lovely location just a short walk into the City Centre and Docks. Rooms are lovely and I personal love the massive baths. Parking is pricey though as hotel doesn’t offer a discount for guests but car park is right next door to the hotel. Would highly recommend

Great room overlooking river. Unfortunately I paid in full two weeks before and would have saved over £150 booking two days in advance. Printed menu did not look exciting but food was excellent--one of the best meals we had over the three days. Parking is expensive!!

Great hotel located in a superb location near Liverpool docks. Staff were friendly and professional, my only observation cooked breakfast can take a long time to be served so factor that in when going for breakfast.

This is a well maintained modern hotel. Staff were courteous and helpful throughout our visit. I visited with my son and we had booked a twin room. The request for a twin room seemed to cause a little consternation at reception. Our check in was delayed whilst our room was prepared. When we arrived in the room double bed (consisting of two singles) had been made up with single duvets but not split. We pulled the two beds apart only to find that they were pushed back together each time the room was made up. The bar had several lagers but a very limited selection of bottled ale (our preference) with none available on our second evening. The restaurant menu was disappointing. It was that of a pub restaurant rather than a mid to high end hotel. There was a wide selection of stodgy high fat food available (burgers, pizza etc.) but little in the way of lighter dishes. A passable stay, but expensive for what was on offer. Will go elsewhere next time.

We were a little disappointed with the quality of the room. For a 4 star hotel and £237 a night for a standard room, we expected a higher standard of cleanliness. There was a musty smell in the corridor and room. The headboard was filthy with stains. The extractor in the bathroom was covered in mould. The room was in a general poor condition. Had food in the bar area, seabass was full of bones and made me unwell. I had to return it and order alternative which was t any better. The brisket was dry. Wouldn't stay here again as we didn't find it value for money

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Our room was nice just the loos don’t flush properly. Breakfast, bar food & dinner excellent. Good food at sensible prices. Only moan is public loos where toilets didn’t flush, smelled horrible (dirty mop/not clean) and it gave a dreadful first impression on arrival. Staff excellent, Jackie London
