Amazing location actually IN the Old Town, which was great as a base for exploring Prague on foot. The only drawback was that we arrived by car which meant it was difficult to self-park anywhere near the hotel because the centre of Prague is so crowded, so we relied on the hotel’s rather expensive valet service (Kč850 per night +Kč150 per valet in/out service). Having said that, the hotel is excellent - our Junior Suite on the 2/F was massive, like staying in a castle! The bathroom needed at update, but otherwise the room was excellent with a well-stocked minibar (all payable). The roof top bar (elevator to 4/F and then staircase) has one of the best views over the Square and the Clock Tower, and hotel guests can access the bar as a priority over non-guests. Staff were really helpful at checkin, checkout, car valet, bar, and dealing with general queries. Minus point - I would have to say that this hotel is NOT disabled-friendly. There are 2 or 3 steps up to the ground floor entrance, then there is an elevator (or staircase) up to reception on 1st floor, but there isn’t really much space to enter/exit the elevator on each floor, and there were steps into our suite (and within the suite) and at other places along corridoors leading to other rooms. You also cannot reach the rooftop bar without climbing many steps (up from 4/F, and again once you’re in the bar). The hotel location was excellent at the heart of the old town with the clock tower and the main square right around the corner. The room had a nice classical decor with a very spacious adjacent bathroom. A small single elevator we had to share with the rooftop bar customers was crowded at times, but we managed.

We loved being in the heart of Old Town Square just steps from the Astronomical Clock. Our room even had a darling balcony where we could look at the tower and listen to the chimes! We spent an evening in with drinks at Black Angel’s - the best cocktails! - followed by dinner on the glorious rooftop terrace. Prague is already magical, but our stay at the Hotel U Prince made our trip even more memorable!

Although we have stayed in several Bauer hotels and do love them, we were disappointed here. We had to change rooms due to noise, air conditioning not working and being directly across from the stairs to the terrace bar. We couldn’t leave our windows or curtains open due to a constant flow of people outside the window. But the thing that will keep us from staying at this particular location again is, the terrace bar. It is very popular because of the view. It was wonderful. But for hotel guests it made it nearly impossible to get to our room using the elevator in a timely manner. We had to use the stairs most times. When we were on the 4th floor we had to wait in line behind 2-3 elevator loads of bar people. When we checked in it was made clear that if we wanted to go into the basement bar, we could not wear tennis shoes. So we didn’t go because all we brought for this walkable city vacation, was tennis shoes. Funny, because we saw plenty of people go down to that bar in tennis shoes. We were offended from check in that they would tell us that. We’ve stayed at the Iron Gate and were never told things like that. They have a beautiful bar and restaurant and no one ever made us feel like we were not inappropriately dressed because we were wearing our $250 tennis shoes.

The room was very clean but some weird issues. There is no where logical to rest the suitcase to unload. There is a sign in the bathroom asking people not to bathe outside the shower due to flooding. This is both ridiculous and hilarious. They paid money to have this sign made and the issue is actually that the rubber seal on the door does not work. Luckily we caught the ridiculous water flow and my husband was able to create a fix using a towel. Otherwise the entire bathroom would have flooded. People are not bathing in the bathroom, the shower just leaks like a sieve. The view in the room was amazing. I also wanted to surprise my husband with a bottle of champagne and some roses and they made him sign for those upon arrival so that ruined the surprise. We had the audacity to show up to breakfast and say good morning to a young female staff member who immediately snapped at us for being cheerful? We asked if breakfast was ready (there are two rooms and cereals were visible) she gestured around and said “does it look ready?” So a 7am start time is not accurate. And don’t try to be cheerful in the morning! It will not be well received by that girl. No one would answer questions about what was gluten free. The restaurants at the hotel were very bad, so were the options in the area. Inauthentic and expensive with no flavor. Lastly the bed is in a loft so one adult has to climb off the bed like a crab since the space is too small. Great area. Would not recommend hotel

We loved the hotel and our room was quaint. There were problems with the bathtub and shower. The guard didn’t work and water flooded the Lou. I sopped up as much as I could hoping it wouldn’t seep into the room below. Needs a better design. We had trouble finding outlets to charge our phones and the lighting was minimal. Loved the decor and the the hotel was so convenient!

This is an incredibly beautiful hotel in the old town pedestrian only square. Walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Staff are amazing. Rooms clean. Bathroom large. Rooftop restaurant/bar is a must visit and drinks in the basement bar are a memory we will never forget. Square is a bit noisy at night (sounds echo). Wish I was still there!

La limpieza no era buena había una mascarilla usada en la habitación, tras eso nos cambiaron de habitación y nos dieron una bastante pequeña y con el techo bajo que te acabas la cabeza a la altura de la pata de una cama también tenía un trozo de papel usado el cuarto de baño. La bañera no guardaba el agua para darse un baño. El desayuno era básico de todo. Podría pasar como un hotel de 3 estrellas

A beautiful hotel right in the centre of Old Prague, Less then 100 yards from the Astronomical clock in the Old Square. Staff were superb (Ivan was especially helpful and polite), the room was beautiful and clean and the bar and restaurant served great food and drink. We will be booking this hotel again.

Hotel U Prince is in a great location. It is right in old town. Easy to walk to many sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was large with plenty of space. Breakfast had many options of breads, sweets eggs and more.

An excellent location in the heart of everything. This is both a blessing and a challenge. One elevator in constant use, mostly by those going to the bars or Terrance. Most aren’t hotel guests. The two restaurants serve good food. The location directly across from the astronomical clock means lots of nearby traffic. Our room ac did not work the entire 4 days there. On the third day someone brought us a fan, which helped —-some. If going during a heat wave demand proof the Carrier wall unit works. The location is near everything in Old Town.

I absolutely loved our stay in this hotel. We stayed there twice. Room 21 is Amazing! Photo worthy. It has a separate sort of living room, separate from the king bed bedroom. We also stayed in a more traditional room (34) the only catch was that the minisplit could not keep up with the high temperatures, so we were hot every night. We were able to open the windows one night, but it looks over the busiest square in town (beautiful view!), so that means loud people, music, etc on Friday, Saturdays. Aside from the suboptimal ac, this hotel is amazing. The rooftop restaurant is worth going even if you are not staying in the hotel, just for the view, and the bar is a prohibition era bar in the basement that has An amazing vibe!

I really wish that I could give this hotel a 10. It is a beautiful hotel—lovely décor in the hallways and room, flowers, great bathroom with nice shampoos and lotion and a face cloth, comfortable bed, robes and slippers, nice terrace and plaza restaurants. Fabulous location. However, we had no WIFI. First, I was told that so many people in the bar and restaurants were using it that it was overloaded. But when I couldn’t sleep at 4 in the morning and wanted to read from my phone so that I didn’t wake my husband, there still wasn’t WIFI. We had to go to reception to download maps and I had some work e-mails that I needed to respond to. The 3 people that I spoke with in reception were not even apologetic.

I chose this hot based on reviews I read of how friendly and welcoming the hotel staff were. This was not the case. They were very rude, not at all helpful and gave us the wrong time for our breakfast. When I raised this, they didn’t come up with a solution or suggestion. They claimed we had it written down on welcome card in the room. We didn’t receive this so we had nothing to refer to. We therefore missed out on breakfast and had to pay for brunch in the hotel. we waited 35 mins to collect our bags for our return flight as the reception was overwhelmed by new guests. No sense of organisation, total chaos , lack of staff around to help. We nearly missed our flight. The hotel itself is stunning, However the staff were very poor. Felt very let down. And sadly won’t return to this hotel.

This hotel was right in the center of the main square. It was a very busy area. This had both advantages and disadvantages. It was pretty noisy at night and 2 of the 3 rooms we rented had broken AC. Our room was nice and cool thankfully. We also enjoyed the rooftop terrace. The staff was ok, not super helpful or friendly. As we were checking out, a man that carried our luggage down asked me to give them a review and then proceeded to take my phone to make sure I gave them 5 stars. This was not ok. However, since we were on our way to the airport I couldn't do anything at the time. Overall I think it's a good hotel and the rooms are nice. If you're looking for something right in the middle of the action, this is it.

I cannot say enough about this hotel: from the fact that I found it at the last minute to the amazing location to the very friendly staff. I arrive way earlier than check in and they put me in a room right away. As other reviews have pointed out: the building is OLD (but isn’t that what you want when staying in Old Town Prague) so you’ll have to no be bothered by a tiny quaint elevator, winding stairs and creaking floorboards. Hopefully the beautiful rooms furnished with antiques and very modern, and plush, bathrooms make up for that. The food choices were great — don’t skip the bar in the basement — and central Prague is literally right outside your door. You can pop out every hour and cross the street to watch the Astronomical Clock every hour if you wanted. Cafes, theaters, museum, shopping are all just steps away. Finally, what friendly staff from front desk to restaurants to housekeeping. I made a special trip to Charles Bridge to up my luck that I will be able to get back some day and enjoy another stay at Hotel U Prince!

U Prince is a distaster Was crelebrating my 50th bday through Europe and ended in Prague with the thought that staying at the U Prince would be the highlight of my trip but instead it was a total nightmare. U Prince is advertised as a 5 star Hotel but its really a 3 star at best. The staff look like they were in Hell most of the time and dont want to be bothered with you. They falsely advertise with a Junior Suite with grand pictures that are probably the most uncomfortable room ever... small bathroom, and tiny space. The ultimate point of anger and frustration was with Client relations person named Barbara which I dont understand why they keep her around since she clearly lacks any sense of client relations and when I asked her to see her manager due to her dismissiveness.. she simply said I cant call him "unless she had a valid reason to". She begrudgling switched me to a room that was almost the same dimensions.. and by that point I had to make a decision of either checking out and adding to my frustration or staying. At check out please check your bill because U Prince, inserted multiple tips and charge you for items from the minibar that you never used. Prepare yourself to share the hotel with the entire Old Town tourists that want to take Instagram pictures on the Terrace which always closed early and makes it impossible to take the elevator to your room. Breakfast was included but was cold most of the time and only had one person working which made it easy to run

Although we have stayed in several Bauer hotels and do love them, we were disappointed here. We had to change rooms due to noise, air conditioning not working and being directly across from the stairs to the terrace bar. We couldn’t leave our windows or curtains open due to a constant flow of people outside the window. But the thing that will keep us from staying at this particular location again is, the terrace bar. It is very popular because of the view. It was wonderful. But for hotel guests it made it nearly impossible to get to our room using the elevator in a timely manner. We had to use the stairs most times. When we were on the 4th floor we had to wait in line behind 2-3 elevator loads of bar people. When we checked in it was made clear that if we wanted to go into the basement bar, we could not wear tennis shoes. So we didn’t go because all we brought for this walkable city vacation, was tennis shoes. Funny, because we saw plenty of people go down to that bar in tennis shoes. We were offended from check in that they would tell us that. We’ve stayed at the Iron Gate and were never told things like that. They have a beautiful bar and restaurant and no one ever made us feel like we were not inappropriately dressed because we were wearing our $250 tennis shoes.

Beautiful hotel but right off the extremely busy main square. Drunken, bar patrons were literally howling in the streets outside our windows most nights till 4am. They also only have one elevator and that is also used to access their very popular rooftop bar. Most times it was faster to walk up to our fifth floor room than to stand in line for the elevator.

Centrally placed by the main square. Anything you want is in walking distance. The hotel has two restaurants and two bars. Staff really helpful and mostly with excellent English. On the down side, the square is noisy, especially late at night, when it is full of (drunken) revellers.

The hotel was very good but The restaurant at The rooftop was sold out of 3 differentiere courses and The The Wine was choose was also sold our. When we Got The head course it was served with The wrong sideordner and when they Got that Wright The source was on wrong plates. The ripeye was more like a porkchop at leasy they tolk that out of The Bill. Besidde that there was a super view over The city.

We had a beautiful and large bed and bath. Location could not be any better!! Front desk staff amazing. The restaurant, not so great. Had a very rude encounter with waiter and food very average; but, the terrace view was wonderful!
