This is a beautiful property located on a nature reserve. A tour of the reserve is included in the cost of stay and well worth it. Clarence is very knowledgeable and passionate about plants and animals.

Gorgeous property, felt like luxury in the middle of the jungle. Our room was great - the shower is nice & gives you the option to open the sliding window & look at nature while you shower. We are not usually pool users but we loved the pools at Gaia & used them everyday. The drinks & food were above average & all of the staff were exceptional - patient & kind to us, remembering my husband & I by name. The hotel offers a free tour by the Macaw reserve & through the forest with Clarence - what a lovely guide & experience! The transportation to & from your room is via golf cart - this was no issue but something to be aware of. Overall a wonderful experience - would stay again in a heartbeat.

This was our second stay here and we hope to return again! It is amazing and cannot be faulted anywhere. All facilities are top quality and all staff go out of their way to make you feel valued. The shuttle bus to the beach and national park is a real bonus and essential if you don’t have a car. Walter very kindly dropped us off at a restyle wanted to try and picked us up there on his return journey. Food in the restaurant is excellent and views from there and the new rooftop bar are stunning.

We had an incredible stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and safe. (They go the extra mile by calling you by name anytime you interact with them.) The rooms were spotless, spacious, and so comfortable, with thoughtful touches like espresso machines and a personalized selection of toiletries. Amenities were top-notch, including the 24-hour golf cart service, a beautiful pool with excellent swim-up bar service, and a relaxing spa experience. Loved the welcome drink & property orientation. On-site food was fine although cocktails were kind of weird. Room was nice - the shower was amazing. Pool was teeny and difficult to walk around (must step across decorative waterfall). Extremely steep paths all around the property - not for anyone with any mobility issues. Really appreciated the shuttle to Manuel Antonio. Staff was friendly.

Gaia was a beautiful property that we celebrated our honeymoon at. Our loft suite was spacious & clean. The pools and grounds were well kept & luxurious. The staff were kind & attentive. We had Edson as our concierge who was helpful & available in booking excursions, taxi's, & truly was helpful with anything we needed. We booked messages at the spa & a facial because it was so relaxing & refreshing we had to go twice. We loved the breakfast at La Luna daily, the best coffee with the most beautiful view. We would visit again & would recommend.

Beautiful Hotel. Excellent service! Parked and immediately greeted by the host who called a shuttle to take us up to the lobby. On the way we stopped to see a sloth in the trees as well as a pair of macaws. They took our luggage and guided us into the restaurant with amazing views. They had pre prepared cocktails for us, a eucalyptus wet towel, and went over their amenities and services they provide. The room was very spacious, clean, incredibly comfortable .pool was great. We saw about a dozen spider moneys in the trees 20’ from the pool area. Restaurant service was top notch and the food was delicious. Breakfast was 10/10! Highly recommend. I would absolutely go back. They also provide free shuttle service to Manuel Antonio park and the beach every hour of the day

The property in on steep land, but transportation is available 24/7 via golf cart and the staff respond quickly. There are many amenities. First, the concierge staff are top notch. Johansy made sure all of our needs were met and she went above and beyond to do so. For example, when we found out the mini bar service was no longer offered, she helped us order snacks and drinks to be delivered from a grocery store to have in our room. Second, the resort provides its' own guides for the Manuel Antonio National Park. We arranged to have a private tour due to my mobility limitations. We had Clarence Whittaker as our guide, and he was so patient, friendly and helpful, he pushed me in a wheelchair, UPHILL and over gravel and rocks. He was incredible. And of course, he was an excellent, knowledgeable guide. I cannot say enough about him. There is also a free tour of the hotel's own nature reserve, but we didn't go on it. The food at the restaurant is excellent. The included breakfast is very generous. All the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The view is gorgeous and we watched the sun set from the restaurant and Sky Bar every night. We heard howler monkeys and toucans. The drinks were delicious and not overly sweet like in the US. Our room was lovely, comfortable and clean and it had nice amenities too, like delicious coffee, a sitting area, an outdoor sitting area and a luxurious shower with multiple nozzles. The housekeeping staff were wonderful and accommodating.

The hotel was quite beautiful and so were the views. They have a sky lounge to observe the sunset. The Scarlet Macau Conservation was a great hike- saw a sloth anpart from the macaus- and is complimentary. The place is overall dated but otherwise good.

If you're looking for a quiet, quaint place to stay with amazing customer service, this is the place for you! We spent 4 nights at Gaia and thoroughly enjoyed our room and the staff. We booked a jungle view room and it was exactly what we expected ..clean, quiet and great AC. The next morning, Boris, the owner approached us at breakfast and informed us that he wanted to move us. He moved us to an amazing suite with a rooftop deck overlooking the ocean! Totally unexpected but appreciated! Carlos helped us get to know the place and helped us line up transportation to Tamarindo at the end of our trip and Jimmy made sure we were always fed and had our beverages whether it was morning coffee or evening cocktails. We enjoyed the vegan breakfast each morning as well as a couple of options for dinner. The view of the macaws each evening topped off the view The hotel provided us with transportation to the beach as well as set us up with a trip to the park. Overall, it was an amazing stay and we would do it again! Special thanks to the gentleman who came and saved us from our unexpected guest as well as our pool side bartender who we watched the monkeys with. Apologies for not knowing your names.

Fue una buena experiencia. Centrico. La comida es buena. El personal de restaurante muy amable. Solo en 3 ocasiones nos quedaron mal, 1 pedimos bebidas en la alberca y jamas nos llegaron apesar de estar ahi un buen tiempo. 2 pedimos cosas a la habitacion y lo mismo no llegaron. 3 por la lluvia entro bastante agua a la habitacion nos dijeron que nos moverian y al final, que arreglaron el problema. En resumen regresariamos a Costa Rica? Definitivamente. Nos volveriamos a hospedar en el hotel Gaia? Probablemente no

Alex was amazing, housekeeping did a fantastic job. The people at the main entrence were always helpful. Our server for breakfast was always smiling and always willing to go the extra mile to help us. Everything about this place was great. Hopefully you get Alex as your concierge

The housekeeping staff were wonderful and accommodating.

Johansy made sure all of our needs were met and she went above and beyond to do so. For example, when we found out the mini bar service was no longer offered, she helped us order snacks and drinks to be delivered from a grocery store to have in our room. Second, the resort provides its' own guides for the Manuel Antonio National Park. We arranged to have a private tour due to my mobility limitations. We had Clarence Whittaker as our guide, and he was so patient, friendly and helpful, he pushed me in a wheelchair, UPHILL and over gravel and rocks. He was incredible. And of course, he was an excellent, knowledgeable guide. I cannot say enough about him. There is also a free tour of the hotel's own nature reserve, but we didn't go on it. The food at the restaurant is excellent. The included breakfast is very generous. All the wait staff were friendly and attentive. This hotel is somewhat isolated, but it does provide shuttle service to public beach (which we took advantage of). The food at the dining room was some of the best we had in our 12 days throughout Costa Rica. The check in and check out were efficient. Concierge service was provided via WhatApp and was smooth during our three day stay. The staff was outstanding. The room was dated and apartment like with television in the bedroom instead of the living room. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Gorgeous property, felt like luxury in the middle of the jungle. Our room was great - the shower is nice & gives you the option to open the sliding window & look at nature while you shower. We are not usually pool users but we loved the pools at Gaia & used them everyday. The drinks & food were above average & all of the staff were exceptional - patient & kind to us, remembering my husband & I by name. The hotel offers a free tour by the Macaw reserve & through the forest with Clarence - what a lovely guide & experience! The transportation to & from your room is via golf cart - this was no issue but something to be aware of. Overall a wonderful experience - would stay again in a heartbeat.

Gaia was a beautiful property that we celebrated our honeymoon at. Our loft suite was spacious & clean. The pools and grounds were well kept & luxurious. The staff were kind & attentive. We had Edson as our concierge who was helpful & available in booking excursions, taxi's, & truly was helpful with anything we needed. We booked messages at the spa & a facial because it was so relaxing & refreshing we had to go twice. We loved the breakfast at La Luna daily, the best coffee with the most beautiful view. We would visit again & would recommend.

Beautiful Hotel. Excellent service! Parked and immediately greeted by the host who called a shuttle to take us up to the lobby. On the way we stopped to see a sloth in the trees as well as a pair of macaws. They took our luggage and guided us into the restaurant with amazing views. They had pre prepared cocktails for us, a eucalyptus wet towel, and went over their amenities and services they provide. The room was very spacious, clean, incredibly comfortable .pool was great. We saw about a dozen spider moneys in the trees 20’ from the pool area. Restaurant service was top notch and the food was delicious. Breakfast was 10/10! Highly recommend. I would absolutely go back. They also provide free shuttle service to Manuel Antonio park and the beach every hour of the day

We have stayed at the Gaia two times before. We love it every time. This time it seemed a bit of the mark though. The toilet paper roll was loose and wouldn’t stay up, the shower drain was plugged( they fixed after a day), and the rooftop bar was not open the first couple days we were there. The breakfast was also lit as good as it used to be. Still a good and free breakfast but not what I looked forward to each time. Staff is always very attentive and willing to help any way they can. Our concierge was also in constant contact with any issues and even got us a spa spot on a rainy day even when they said they were full when we called. We stayed in a suite with balcony. This is a plus on rainy days as we sometimes just sat and watched the wildlife from our balcony

Great property, great staff, Jose was our concierge. He was excellent. Johnny was helpful at the pool and Ricardo did a great job in the restaurant. Staff pointed some amazing animals for us and we saw beautiful views of macaws and sloths. Clarence’s tour of the property was incredible and extremely informative.

By far the best hotel experience I've ever had. Truly luxury! The rooms and property were stunning, my massage was immaculate (thank you Jenny), and the sushi at dinner was the best I've ever had. But the amenities and service are what really set this place apart. All the staff were so attentive and eager to ensure an outstanding experience. In particular, Gary went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of our stay and made everything as effortless as possible. I think I've been ruined for all other hotels. This is the standard we all deserve!

My wife and I stayed a week at GAIA and it was AMAZING! Upon arriving at the property the staff was fantastic. They greeted us by name once we entered the gate and brought us up to reception where we were met with a VIP experience. Alex and Stephanie were beyong accomodating and went above and beyond. They setup all of our activities and made all the necessary accommodations including transportation. They even sent me all the details to make sure I had all the right info. Then they followed up with us to make sure everything went well. They set us up on a park tour with our guide Clarence who was phenomenal! He was not only informative but tremendously skilled at his job as well. He helped my wife get amazing pictures of the wildlife and was a pleasure to talk to. Clarence as well was our guide for the Macaw tour and we were given a top notch tour once again. The restaurant staff was superb to say the least. Ricardo, Steven, Adam, Andre, and Steven from Columbia were phenomenal hosts and made us feel like family. The service was second to none. We were made to feel welcome and all our needs were attended to. The food was wonderful and we couldn't of asked for a better experience. Boris the owner would even come greet us at breakfast in the mornings to say hello and make sure we were enjoying our stay. My wife and I loved this trip to Manuel Antonio and a big reason we did was because of the staff and our stay at Gaia. The property was beautiful and amazing.

The property owner accuses anyone who doesn't highly rate his property with five stars of having “outbursts” on another review website. Every single traveler with a critique of his property isn't mentally unbalanced. The hotel arranged transport with a driver who was supposed to be bilingual but didn't speak any English. She showed up late. When I critiqued this, the owner sarcastically said "being met at the plane is a service for diplomats." I'm not ridiculous. I know that my transport cannot meet me at the plane. But it should be on time. At this price point, there are nicer hotels in the Manuel Antonio area.

Nice and clean hotel. Location is somewhat remote, need a car ride everywhere you go. The Macau tour from the Hotel with Juan was excellent.. breakfast serving time is kind of long. You need to take a shuttle from the gate to your room. Spa closed at 5pm, which we feel is too early after activities. Wish it could open later for guests to unwind.

We saw as much wildlife at the hotel as we did in our guided rainforest trips. The restaurant at the hotel serves fresh, delicious food. They have a shuttle that runs down the the beach, allowing beach access but opportunities to retreat to a more exclusive hotel away from the noise around the beach. Their service team is always available to ensure your stay is perfect.

This beautiful hotel exceed our expectations. Located inside a natural reserve, offers guests a true immersion in Costa Rica’s nature, the most amazing views, excellent service and food. The staff is extremely friendly and we were pampered during our entire stay. Countless small details made us feel home from the beginning. We were allowed an early check in and also received a room upgrade. We mostly enjoyed watching the sunset from the swimming pool or the restaurant while enjoying dinner. The tour inside the reserve was also a highlight. The restaurant surprised us every day with delicious dishes. Being vegetarian I had enough options too. The location allowed to be in few minutes at Manuel Antonio National Park, restaurants, bars and shops. First time time at the Gaia Hotel, but sure not the last. Totally recommend it.

Beautiful Hotel. Excellent service! Parked and immediately greeted by the host who called a shuttle to take us up to the lobby. On the way we stopped to see a sloth in the trees as well as a pair of macaws. They took our luggage and guided us into the restaurant with amazing views. They had pre prepared cocktails for us, a eucalyptus wet towel, and went over their amenities and services they provide. The room was very spacious, clean, incredibly comfortable .pool was great. We saw about a dozen spider moneys in the trees 20’ from the pool area. Restaurant service was top notch and the food was delicious. Breakfast was 10/10! Highly recommend. I would absolutely go back. They also provide free shuttle service to Manuel Antonio park and the beach every hour of the day

This is a nice hotels with beautiful pools and amazing location inside jungle. The service was fabulous throughout our stay, very attentive. The rooms are very large! We had balcone as well very spatious rooftop for sunbathing. Another cool thing was that they keep their own parrots and you can see them fly across quite often. There are some details that make me rate is 4 starts, not 5. The food for lunch amd dinner is hit or miss. Recomned tuna mains and salad, quesadillas and tuna andangp wrap. Calamari salad was disgusting, chef should check the temperature pf tempura oil, when it is not hot enough food comes out increadibly oily. 1. The hotel is pld and need refunbishing. Furniture must be changed, it is just too old, giving this expensive hotel a cheap look. 2. Breakfast is not a buffet and they are super tight on included options. For example for eggs royale or fritatta you have to pay extra $10. It is just simply stinginess. When I pay over £300 for a night at a 5* hotel with breakfast included this I am expecting a quality breakfast. 3. $60 for 30 mins in Sauna. This is just lame charging that much, feels like total rip off. Overall, I would say this is a 4* hotel not 5*. There is a big room for improvement facility vise, but service is good. Sauna must be free and breakfast menu with charges has to be revised.

By far the best hotel experience I've ever had. Truly luxury! The rooms and property were stunning, my massage was immaculate (thank you Jenny), and the sushi at dinner was the best I've ever had. But the amenities and service are what really set this place apart. All the staff were so attentive and eager to ensure an outstanding experience. In particular, Gary went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of our stay and made everything as effortless as possible. I think I've been ruined for all other hotels. This is the standard we all deserve!

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay here. The unit was comfortable, and everyone was super friendly. Our stay included breakfasts which had a good variety of different and tasty options. The view from the open air restaurant and the lounge above it are awesome.

Positives: Overall we enjoyed our stay. Cannot say enough nice things about the staff - they were wonderful. The room was also very nice and comfortable. Firm bed. Awesome shower. Golf cart available for transfer up and down the hill. Wonderful hot stone massage. Negatives: we are vegetarian and although breakfast was amazing (and included), the other meals lacked sufficient options. Pool facilities were older. Limited room on the sun deck.

This hotel should get 10 stars! The staff was beyond helpful and I have stayed in many countries and I have to say the pool and grounds were above and beyond my expectations. Staff was so quick. Everything was set up both in the room and outside hotel by staff. Food and drinks also amazing!! I would stay here again!

Loved the welcome drink & property orientation. On-site food was fine although cocktails were kind of weird. Room was nice - the shower was amazing. Pool was teeny and difficult to walk around (must step across decorative waterfall). Extremely steep paths all around the property - not for anyone with any mobility issues. Really appreciated the shuttle to Manuel Antonio. Staff was friendly.

I stayed here with two of my friends for the last leg of our Costa Rica trip to celebrate my 40th birthday and cannot say enough good things about this hotel! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We also had a gorgeous patio as well as a rooftop terrace, which was wonderful for enjoying coffee in the mornings and watching the macaws 🤗 Our personal concierge, Stephanie, was incredibly helpful and communicative during our stay. She checked in on us each day and helped to coordinate dinner reservations in town, taxi rides and even a private cooking class onsite for us at the hotel! ☺️ The hotel is beautifully positioned at the top of a hill, with excellent views of the ocean, and wildlife. We saw macaws everyday, as well as toucans and parakeets. I highly recommend taking the complimentary scarlet macaw tour on the property to learn more about the native wildlife. We saw three sloths on our tour, including a mom +baby! If you are visiting Manuel Antonio, I highly recommend booking your stay at Gaia!

Lovely stay at the Gaia Hotel. The location is ideal and the staff was very helpful. The restaurant was excellent and accommodated my gluten issue. Gorgeous sunset views from the bar at the top of the resort. Because the resort ascends up the hill, there are lots of stone tile steps that can be tricky to navigate. Watch your step. Be sure to tour Manuel Antonio National Park (reserve a ticket in advance) and go to the swimmable beach in the park. The beach closest to the resort has strong currents. Be careful and listen to the lifeguards and don't go out beyond your waist.
