Great location location location…10 minutes or less to pointe Vecchio, the Duomo, Uffizi museum and train station..Bathrooms were small tub could use a grout and caulk redo…paint…small items as overall hotel was great ….breakfast, pool, and especially rooftop bar were perfect and staff all polite and well trained

Our room was spacious and clean with comfortable bed and pillows, housekeeping did a wonderful job. We enjoyed the breakfast, there's a good variety and the staff very attentive and polite. We also liked the roof top area where you can have a drink, or just sit to admire the panoramic views. Location of the hotel is excellent, just a few minutes walk from main train station and T2 tram stop from airport. You can easily walk to all the tourist attraction sites, and there are many restaurants nearby.

Loved everything about the beautiful Croce di Malta. My room with a balcony was exceptonal with a beautiful outlook. Hotel staff without exception were helpful, friendly and professional. They went out of their way to find me a room for one night that I was unable to book online, meaning I didn't have to move. Tje rooftop bar had a stunning view over Florence & the pool was lovely to return to after a day of sightseeing & walking. I would most definitely stay at the Croce di Malta again. H

Excellent hotel right in the centre and within easy reach of everything you could possibly want. Superb room with 2 bathrooms!!!!! Unheard of. Gorgeous staff on reception and at breakfast. Pool does sit in the shade so is cold but that didn’t bother the kids. Stunning sunset view from rooftop.

Seven-minute walk from the main train station, and within walking distance to several major tourist attractions in Florence, the location of this property is ideal. Front desk staff always greet you with smile. Room we had is loft style. While comfortable, the decor and finish are fairly basic. Outdoor pool is not heated so it might not be suitable to swim in when outdoor temperature dips. Maintenance around the pool area is poor with dirty (some even broken)lounge chairs. Breakfast on the other hand is impressive, even comparable to some of the 5 star hotels we stayed. Enjoyed our stay in general. Wish the maintenance of public areas such as pool and the rooftop terrace could be kept up.

This was an exceptional middle of the Price hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was exceptional, the room was very clean. They had a nice courtyard area to have a drink and a great rooftop restaurant with one of the most amazing views. The bathroom was small, but I’m seeing that is to be expected visiting Italy. The location was perfect for us, 10 minute walk to the main train station, which will take you everywhere.

A lovely property, conveniently located close to the Santa Maria Novella train station. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating, and the breakfast is very good. The pool is nice and great for cooling off after a long day of sightseeing. The rooftop bar has a lovely view of the Duomo and the city of Florence. We will certainly return to the Hotel Croce di Malta!

Nice hotel and pool, rooftop was nice but short hours and no shade on hot days. Housekeeping missed our room both days while our friends on other floors received regular morning housekeeping. It would be nice to have more amenities in the room, particularly body lotion, shampoo etc.

Pros: Included breakfast buffet, pool, rooftop bar Cons: Air conditioning is warm, all we did was sweat, most staff are not very nice. The first night they told us the AC was broken. Now it’s supposedly fixed but it’s just as hot as when it was broken. We talked to the front desk several times and were given fans. Manager was supposed to contact us but no one has. Also when we checked in we asked about laundry and they said we bring it down in the morning, and they bring it to us cleaned at night. The first morning we were here we brought it down and they told us it’s closed on weekends. Why wouldn’t they tell us this when we asked about it the day prior? There’s no security and anyone can walk in the hotel and go up the elevator to the rooms. The furnishings are all dated. There’s no way to take a shower without getting water all over the bathroom. There’s drink service by the pool, but in our three days here we were only asked if we wanted something once. No one comes around and the few times we asked as they walked by we were shouted at to wait and sometimes they’d come back 20 mins later and sometimes not at all. We stayed here for the pool since it’s hard to find in the city. The rates are quite expensive considering all the cons.

Very clean & comfortable. Easy to find. Was a short walk from everywhere i wanted to go & near Unita tram stop for airport. Breakfast was good. Kettle / safe / slippers in room. I felt safe as a solo female traveller. Reception staff were friendly & helpful. I arrived early & my room was ready & available. There is a fantastic view from the rooftop terrace. I would stay here again & recommend to others.

Everything about the hotel was clean and well maintained. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed with a good bathroom. The breakfast had a wide choice, was excellent and the staff worked extremely hard. Being just a short walk from the bus and tram station made it easy to get to from the airport, but then everywhere we wanted to visit was also an easy walk. Just a perfect location to visit Florence.

The location was excellent and so was the breakfast. The property is old and has a very strong strange smell in the room. The management has asked the staff to only turn air conditioning when specifically requested. I did on the day I checked it but they turned it off a few days later and that made the smell worse. The staff was trying to assist but they had no other rooms available.

Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen und muss dringend renoviert werden. Wir haben netterweise ein Upgrade auf ein ruhiges Gartenzimmer bekommen, leider hat es in diesem Zimmer aber schrecklich nach Kanal aus dem Waschbecken gestunken. Wir haben das auch weitergegeben, aber was auch immer gemacht wurde, hat das Problem nicht gelöst. Ich denke es war ein Montagefehler, weil das Becken keinen Siphon hatte…. Leider war auch die Duschkabine wahnsinnig klein, steckte beim auf und zu machen und war auch in den Ecken nicht sauber gereinigt, was ich mir in einem Hotel, egal wieviele Sterne, immer erwarte. Die Lage ist super und das Personal sehr freundlich, das Bett war bequem und sauber und wir haben wunderbar geschlafen, auch das Frühstück war gut mit reichlich Auswahl. Der Pool im Innenhof ist ganz nett, haben wir aber nicht genutzt. Alles in Allem wars ok aber wir kommen erst wieder wenn renoviert wurde…

We arrived at 22:00 to a room located on the fifth floor (the elevator only reaches the fourth floor) with a broken air conditioner. It was a particularly hot day. It turned out that there was no phone in the room (!) so I had to go down to reception again. The girl at the reception offered me a fan instead and after I insisted agreed to give us another room. The new room's sink in was cracked, but the air conditioner worked.

Nice room. We ended up with a balcony which was a lovely surprise. Very clean bathroom. Good hot water for a shower/good hairdryer etc. Comfy bed. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Rooftop bar was a nice touch. We didn’t use the pool but the option was there, and towels offered. Quite expensive but it is in a really good spot in Florence, very close to the train station and main attractions. Enjoyable stay.

Overall, this is a very good hotel and I would probably stay here again. The room was large (for Europe), the beds were super comfy, the AC worked well, and the included breakfast was very tasty with a good selection. I have mixed feelings about the location. Walking from the train station to the hotel using the Google preferred route, we thought it was rather sketchy, even in the middle of the day. For two of the three nights noise from the street from party goers and homeless people kept me awake. One night it went on fairly steady until 4:30 AM. Bring ear plugs! When we walked to the train station using a different route it was much more open and clean and enjoyable. The hotel is close to the main downtown area and museums making everything very walkable. You may want to ask for an interior room though to avoid the street noise. A couple of small issues we had with our room was that the toilet would run for 10 to 20 minutes after flushing. The location is great, more central in Florence, and the staff very friendly, but the condition of our room was less than desirable. The room, while big (2 floors), is dated. The staircase shakes a little bit and is slightly unnerving. We had constant issues with mosquitos (and we did not even open the window). We were constantly getting bit and must've killed a dozen or more mosquitos during our 2 night stay. You can even see on the walls were past guests have killed mosquitos (blood splatters). This made sleeping and getting a good nights rest nearly impossible. The bathroom, particularly the shower is terrible. And given where the showered head is positioned, water will get all over the floor. Unlike Asia which has a lot of wet bathrooms, which include a drain in the floor for water to drain, this hotel bathroom does not. Front desk staff always greet you with smile. Room we had is loft style. While comfortable, the decor and finish are fairly basic. Outdoor pool is not heated so it might not be suitable to swim in when outdoor temperature dips. Maintenance around the pool area is poor with dirty (some even broken)lounge chairs. Our room was tiny had no real window to the outside, it was an enclosed space with a tiny opening in the ceiling. The bed was somewhat lumpy and tilted to the side. The only redeeming quality was the breakfast.

Our room was spacious and clean with comfortable bed and pillows, housekeeping did a wonderful job. We enjoyed the breakfast, there's a good variety and the staff very attentive and polite. We also liked the roof top area where you can have a drink, or just sit to admire the panoramic views. Location of the hotel is excellent, just a few minutes walk from main train station and T2 tram stop from airport. You can easily walk to all the tourist attraction sites, and there are many restaurants nearby.

If you’re looking to spend a decent amount of time in the hotel, there are some things to consider. The staircase in our room creaked anytime people walked around in surrounding rooms. The AC was turned off for the hotel because the hotel staff said it was going to be cold the next day. When we tried having our windows open, mosquitoes were coming in and we decided it wasn’t worth it after getting some bites and seeing our blood after squashing some of them. The breakfast included was very nice, and there were many options. The staff was always very kind and the laundry service was very good as well. Ultimately, the hotel was nice; however, there are probably better options.

It was a great last minute stay - reception was excellent in warmth and friendliness at check-in. Breakfast was great in both service and buffet options - very nice assortment. Our room was small but well appointed and the bathroom was very updated and more than spacious enough. Good closet and storage space as well. Hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly throughout the stay. Good value for the money!

We had a very pleasant 6-night stay at Groce di Malta Hotel in April-May. Especially we liked the rooftop bar with beautiful views and the lovely garden with pool. The location was very good, 5-10 min walk to the main sights and plenty of dining options right next to the hotel (both Via della Scala and Piazza di Santa Maria Novella had nice restaurants). Breakfast was very good. All our questions regarding taxis etc. were promptly handled by the reception staff. The decor in the room was a bit outdated but all was clean and worked well.

Pros: Included breakfast buffet, pool, rooftop bar Cons: Air conditioning is warm, all we did was sweat, most staff are not very nice. The first night they told us the AC was broken. Now it’s supposedly fixed but it’s just as hot as when it was broken. We talked to the front desk several times and were given fans. Manager was supposed to contact us but no one has. Also when we checked in we asked about laundry and they said we bring it down in the morning, and they bring it to us cleaned at night. The first morning we were here we brought it down and they told us it’s closed on weekends. Why wouldn’t they tell us this when we asked about it the day prior? There’s no security and anyone can walk in the hotel and go up the elevator to the rooms. The furnishings are all dated. There’s no way to take a shower without getting water all over the bathroom. There’s drink service by the pool, but in our three days here we were only asked if we wanted something once. No one comes around and the few times we asked as they walked by we were shouted at to wait and sometimes they’d come back 20 mins later and sometimes not at all. We stayed here for the pool since it’s hard to find in the city. The rates are quite expensive considering all the cons.

Everything about the hotel was clean and well maintained. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed with a good bathroom. The breakfast had a wide choice, was excellent and the staff worked extremely hard. Being just a short walk from the bus and tram station made it easy to get to from the airport, but then everywhere we wanted to visit was also an easy walk. Just a perfect location to visit Florence.

Nice hotel close to all of the main attractions. Located very close to the train station. Hotel staff all very nice. Room was simple but more than enough. Air conditioning was working very well. If you want to be located right in the action you could stay a little closer to the Duomo but this hotel was very nice overall

Fantastic location, next to the train station and very close to the historic centre. Breakfast was good and service attentive. Coffee was better when prepared at the bar rather than the machine, of course. Some renovations and better insulation between the rooms would be helpful. A pleasant stay overall

Seven-minute walk from the main train station, and within walking distance to several major tourist attractions in Florence, the location of this property is ideal. Front desk staff always greet you with smile. Room we had is loft style. While comfortable, the decor and finish are fairly basic. Outdoor pool is not heated so it might not be suitable to swim in when outdoor temperature dips. Maintenance around the pool area is poor with dirty (some even broken)lounge chairs. Breakfast on the other hand is impressive, even comparable to some of the 5 star hotels we stayed. Enjoyed our stay in general. Wish the maintenance of public areas such as pool and the rooftop terrace could be kept up.

This was an exceptional middle of the Price hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was exceptional, the room was very clean. They had a nice courtyard area to have a drink and a great rooftop restaurant with one of the most amazing views. The bathroom was small, but I’m seeing that is to be expected visiting Italy. The location was perfect for us, 10 minute walk to the main train station, which will take you everywhere.

Great location but space around the pool is super small and busy. Staff were nice but wouldn’t allow us to eat a sandwich anywhere in the hotel (even though they don’t have a restaurant) . Amenities are a bit tired really. But the location was amazing.

The pool is great. Rooftop bar has wonderful views of the city in the evening. Location is great - walking distance to train station, and all the sites in the city. Room is basic.

Room was exceptional! Big with a bath & 1/2 and a balcony overlooking the pool. Yes a pool in the heart of Florence. Definitely a nice place to recharge before going out for the sunset & dinner. The included breakfast was the best “hotel included” we had in Italy. We also enjoyed the roof top bar ( but it did close at 9:30PM). The staff was also very helpful & all fluent in English! (There was a union strike occurring while we were there & the staff made us feel better about the trains)
