Although we were at the Florence Old Bridge we had full access to the Hotel SCALETTA Ponte Vecchio which included breakfast and access to the rooftop area. Parking was not the easiest but the hotel was very helpful with arrangements at a local garage which picked up the car at the hotel and then dropped it at a nearby plaza when we departed.

Florence Old Bridge was an easy check in procedure. You had to check in at Hotel La Scaletta. They were very good with communication and accommodating our early arrival. They recommended a parking garage nearby in which you can make reservations ahead of time. It was not a far walk from the historical center. Overall, good experience.

Room was nice, bathroom shower could have been slightly cleaner (you can tell it’s older). But as it’s affiliated with the hotel scaletta across the street you have the option to access the breakfast buffet, and the “skybar”. We loved having our breakfast up on the top most balcony, very serene.

The hotel itself was quite good. The Old bridge accommodation is across the road from la scaletta hotel which is where you check in. You get a room with a double bed television and a functional but quite small bathroom. There is a small bar fridge in the room and also a safe. The air conditioning is quite effective but can be a little bit noisy. The biggest issue we found was on arrival there is no where to stop the car if you have one to go and check in. We parked around the corner and were then informed that the best option for parking is to use the valet car parking. The reception staff told us that this is usually best organised before arrival as what will happen in that case is the valet will meet you about 50 m from the hotel in one of the answers and take your car. As we had not organised this reception staff were very kind and rang the ballet service who then met us where we had park the car. The other issue to be aware of is to actually get to the hotel you need to pass through a couple of pedestrian zones. If you pass through these zones and you are parking at the hotel they will contact the parking authorities and have any fines waived. If you do not park and get this information passed on you will be fined. In the area there are numerous restaurants souvenir shops and plenty of gelati cafes. It is an easy walk to the old bridge and also approximately a 1 km walk to the Duomo and other significant features.

Our stay at this place was average. We loved the fact that it was walking distance to many attractions and downtown. Otherwise, everything else about the hotel is pretty average. There was no water left in the mini fridge. The cups that were left were dirty. And the room was very stuffy and too small.

Variety of food you can’t go wrong. Location was perfect it’s a block away from the river. 2 blocks in and all the historic buildings are at reach. Million of places to eat. You can walk around all day and night and never have to leave the area. Love Florence will be back

Staff was kind of rude. Also not great that there isn’t a phone to contact staff if you have issues. You have to leave your room go down stairs and cross the street to the main hotel. They key card isn’t all the functional too. You really have to push it into the scanner. Worst of all the bed was super uncomfortable. I’ve slept more comfortably on a plane. That bed was a brick. Oh and no welcome wine like how Expedia mentioned.

The location is perfect, right across the bridge from all the main tourist spots. It is more similar to a BNB. It’s across from the main hotel and the rooms are all on a locked floor and the building is locked. It felt pretty safe and seemed like it used to be an apartment. They do daily house keeping and the main hotel across the way is very helpful. There are no phones in the room which was no problem for us but just an FYI. The room was very spacious and bed comfy. It’s a good spot if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room and is affordable. The only con was the WiFi barely worked. We would stay here again for a quick trip.

I read the room description before I booked but seeing in person left me a bit disappointed. Room was smaller than I had pictured. Luckily the ceiling was higher so not as claustrophobic as it could've been. Lack of natural night was noticeable. There is a small window opening into a "courtyard" but not enough for my liking. Had trouble using key card to unlock doors even though I heard the buzzer. Lack of coffee maker in room was not good. Room had small fridge which was helpful. Receptionist was very nice upon arrival and the bellboy who showed me to the room was also nice. Just FYI, you do need to check in at hotel across the street. This property is not bad by any means but I personally would choose something else next time

Ubicación excelente. El baño un poco pequeño, poco espacio para dejar las cosas y con un escalón de entrada muy poco práctico. Sobre el personal del hotel, no me gustó la poca información que nos dieron desde recepción sobre la ciudad ni tampoco que insistieran en que mi reserva no estaba pagada cuando sí que lo estaba. Me cobraron lo que no debían y solo cuando pude llegar a mi habitación, con wifi (no había cobertura en la recepción) y descargarme mi reserva, pude verificar que yo estaba en lo cierto. Resolvió el problema una persona diferente a la chicha que nos atendió (que seguía insistiendo en que la reserva no estaba pagada). Él le mostró su error y resolvió el problema muy rápidamente, haciéndome la devolución al momento, pero sería de agradecer que las personas de recepción estén bien informadas acerca de los difentes formas de pago que ofrece Expedia, que para eso es su ventaja. The location of this property is great for walking. If you have to use a taxi, be aware that the ride will be a bit longer due to being on the other side of the river and the numerous one-way streets. Plan accordingly and it isn't a problem. The hotel was great at calling the taxi. Staff was friendly and helpful. The small down side was that we had requested twin bed set up and the hotel had confirmed this yet, when we checked in, the beds were set up as one. The hotel sent someone over to re-do them but it would have been nice to have it the way we requested upon our arrival.

This is a great bargain in Florence, terrific location. Part of the Hotel La Scaletta, a 4 star hotel, across the street. Not 4 star itself, but very comfortable and well maintained, with great service. Would recommend it to anyone spending time in Florence. That side of the Arno, the Oltrano, is a welcome break from the craziness across the river!

It’s old, but has all the modern amenities we expect from any hotel. It’s very well located, only 100 meters from the famous Ponte Vecchio (and 50 meters from Palazzo Pitti). Employees are very nice and helpful.

Great hotel for an affordable price, amazing central location to all the museums, the Duomo, plenty of restaurants and shops. (12-18 min walk) Hotel is right on the old bridge Street. Only complaint, i wish the beds and pillows in Europe would be more comfortable. Very firm mattress. 4/5
