What guests think

AI-generated summary based on recent guest reviews

Hardman House draws mixed feedback: travellers praise its friendly staff, central walkable location, and comfortable beds, but many highlight very dated interiors, stained carpets, and recurring maintenance issues like broken air conditioning, inconsistent hot water, and finicky TVs.

Stayed 2 nights

The air conditioner in the room was broken which made it very uncomfortable to sleep in such a warm room. Didn't finish my stay. Checked out and went somewhere else.

During the time of our stay at that hotel, there was no air conditioning.Just fans. It was really hot that weekend. And we requested a second fan, so it did cool down to bed. But not having the air conditioner makes one melt. The hotel itself was pretty nice.Clean and everybody was pleasant. But the fact of not having air conditioning was not good

Checked in without them telling us there was no AC working. Walked into the hotel room to walk back out. Room was over 90 degrees. They offered standing fans and told us to open the window. Had to check out and cancel our stay.

i only needed to stay one night but check in was easy, place was quite even though its located near what seems to be a busy street and it was located near lots of things. The big issue was that the A/C was down. they were very apologetic and had a pair of fans already going in the room when i got there and they were extending a discounted rate to the guest because of the issue. other than that It was a nice stay. Its nothing extravagant, its an older hotel but if you just need some sleeping quarters, this will do.

Stayed 1 night

Elevator closed fast and almost closed on leg cause tried to hold elevator for whole party to enter. Son was left behind 2xs. Fridge in room did not work. One of the Lights by bed didnt work. Carpet was kinda stained and looked gross. Didnt want to walk around in socks. Bed was clean, but when layed down i sank in it. No firmness- but somehow it was pretty comfortable cause i slept through the night. Before falling asleep we could hear almost every step the occupants in the room above us took. Spoke to front desk about fridge and light. He said thanks and he will put it in for maintenance person later. Hotel vibe did not feel the safest either. Breakfast: Not sure if its because we went down at 830(breakfast done by 9) but there was no milk for cereal(carafe was empty), no cream at all for coffee, poor quality of fruits; oranges were sour and the one banana there was green. Room with 2 queens were little over 100$ a night so that was good. Everywhere else in reno and surrounding areas were $300 plus a night. Im just used to staying at marriotts. Maybe If i didnt come with my kids probably wouldnt have cared so much.
