We had a last minute need for a hotel room. I called the direct number prior to booking to ensure the pool was open. After being told yes, I told my 2 and 3 year old we could swim and stopped for bathing suits on the way to check in at around 7pm. After arriving, I was told the pool had been closed for some time and there was nothing the hotel could do because I booked through hotels.com. I could have booked at 3 other nearby hotels for the same price.

A one night stay for business. Extremely Clean and comfortable. Slightly lacking in maintenance of the building and rooms. I.e. plumbing in tub and sink slow to drain, paint and caulking needs throughout building. Would reccomend again.

Everything about our stay was good. One thing however 4 of the staff members were taking their smoke break at the front door while we ate breakfast So the smoke comes in the lobby and breakfast area. This happens at many businesses, but smoking areas should be encouraged away from front entrance.

Our stay here was just for the weekend, but the house keeping was not up to par. The cleaning lady came in daily and grabbed the garbage and gave us fresh towels, but the beds weren’t made and supplies weren’t replenished. We ran out of things such as toilet paper. On top of that our room was near an area where you could hear the water pipes banging all day and night.

Upon arrival, they gave us a key to the wrong room that was already occupied. When we finally got to the correct room, there was empty beer cans in the cabinet as well as someone’s personal items (paper plates, plastic bowl, and a can opener). When I called guest services to complain, the lady at the front came and personally removed the beer cans, but left everything else. I was told that a manager would contact me in the morning to address the situation, no one ever contacted me.

Always a good experience at HIE in Fort Payne, Al. Our room is always clean and welcoming and quiet. We stop in for one night to get off the road for a 2 day journey to Va. we always stay at this hotel because we are very happy with the service we receive. Also a very good breakfast.

Our room was wonderful, but the ac didn't stay running all night, so when it turned off you could hear EVERYTHING! (Slamming doors, road noise, people talking outside,etc.) needless to say, we didn’t sleep very well in the very comfortable bed.

Was given a room just off the lobby. When asked will it be loud was told "I\'ve never gotten any complaints". Surprise it was loud. Not only did the door to the check in counter slam and bounce several times each time someone entered or left it, they seemed to do so every 10 minutes all night and into the morning. At 3AM I called the front desk and complained and was told they would stop and they did not. Horrible sleep because of it. The walls are also paper thin and I was awoken several times to the chatter going on in the room next to me which went on until 3:30AM. Breakfast was sub par and the hotel itself was dated. There are only two hotels to choose from in the area so stay at the other one (which didn\'t appear to be much better) or travel closer into town and find something better.

Staff was very friendly. Checking in and out was efficient (no waiting at all). The breakfast was good. The food was well-prepared, and the food area was very clean. Lots of eating options very close to the hotel. As far as convenience goes, it's a 10.

The staff was excellent. Very efficient and obviously dedicated to doing an excellent job. The front seat attendant, Hope, went above and beyond when finding and retrieving some articles I accidentally left in my room after checking out. She held them safely at the front desk until my son could come pick them up for me. That is superb, honest service! Great property, extremely well run.

We requested a late check out due to being in town for my husband's grandfathers funeral. We were asked what time we wanted to check out, and after making our suggestion of 1:00 (or possibly 1:30), we were told no. The staff said they could only go to 12:30. If that were the case, why didnt the staff simply say 12:30 from the beginning? Additionally, we could have checked in at 3pm, but did not arrive until 11pm.

You walk in the front door and it smells “bleachy clean” I love it. The room was in great shape, the linens smelt clean and plenty of easy access outlets for all or our stuff. And the best thing was the pancake maker in the morning. You push one button and “bam” 2 pancakes.
