This area is not a good area but the motel was nice clean I didn't make it to breakfast I was told it was over at 10:00 and it was over sooner than it was so I didn't get to make it. Hard to find a parking space very cluttered in the area. I wish they had microwaves in the room and coffee machines. I also wish they had a Jacuzzi and a pool!

Basic hotel. No pool or jacuzzi. Continental breakfast was bagel, yogurt, oj and packaged muffins. Bathroom was small. Very clean and staff was nice.

We spent one night here and had a comfortable stay. The room was spacious and we were even able to bring in our bikes. When I asked the front desk if the area was safe enough to leave our bikes on our car she recommended we bring them in and even offered to put them in their storage room if we didnt want to keep them in our room. The complimentary breakfast, had no hot food, besides bagels you can toast other than that just cold hard boiled eggs and cereal, they did have instant oatmeal. If you picked this hotel because of the pool, cancel your reservation because it no longer exists and they should update their pictures online.

Property has been redone and is now Sparks by Hilton. We drove past it not knowing this as it was still listed as Hampton Inn on Expedia. It has all new finishes, carpets, paint, wallpaper beds, etc., and is very clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location is right off highway and there is a low level of traffic noise but not annoying. It's also very convenient to restaurants. However, it no longer has a pool and the room didn't have a microwave or coffee maker as advertised. Also, there is a desk but not a desk chair so we had to drag the accent chair, which was not the right height, across the room to use the desk. Perfect fo an overnight stay. I would stay again.

This hotel is nice and clean, despite it's surroundings. The bed is firm and the AC works great. Breakfast is reasonably varied but basic. We booked here because my daughter wanted a pool for her birthday as the city pools are still closed. It was paved over a few years back.

I love the property by the freeway. Staff is polite. Only thing made me think twice was a strong stale smell upon arrival into the room, once i opened the window for a bit it went away.

Pretty clean room…only complaint with the room/inside of the property was a stained towel (had enough for one night to make do without bothering staff). Not the greatest area of town, pretty loud street/interstate noise but may be better on the other side of the property. Had security outside watching the parking lot at night so was not worried about my car parked in the lot over night although wouldn’t leave anything of value although probably a good rule to follow on the west coast in general.

The carpet in the hallway was dirty. The AC in the room was loud and rattled. I woke up at midnight one night, and the room was warm. I tried to adjust the thermostat, but the batteries were dead. I had to get dressed at midnight and go to the front desk to ask for batteries. I changed them myself. The walls seem to be thin. We could hear kids running in the hallway and the room above us - we could hear the footsteps. The location was next door to a gas station/convenience store that play loud music on outdoor speakers at night. We could hear it when we were trying to sleep. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed having breakfast and coffee every morning. The staff was very pleasant.

There were hairs on the top of the toiletry bottles that they have in the shower. The area appeared unsafe with multiple vagrants laying on the sidewalk. The breakfast included is very limited. Only bagels, prepackaged muffins and yogurt.

This is my 3rd stay. The staff is consistently awesome. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. But...my first 2 stays were on the back side of the property - away from the street. This time, i was on the front side. The noise from traffic, street racers and the non-stop outside music from the nearby convenience store plus loud people outside made sleep nearly impossible. Sorry to cross this place off my list.

She heard me for having a rough last few weeks and needed a good night sleep from work and personal life. Healthcare work is real burnout and I was. She is an amazing person. Sheila at the front desk was great! The night manager guy with glasses on the other hand was rude and dismissive. Upon checking in at 10pm with 2 sleeping kids in tow, we went to the room only to be met with a putrid and musty smell. Went to ask for a different room but he said no rooms available. Then handed me a febreeze bottle and said that’s the best he can do. When I complained, he said he would give my money back and said I’m free to look for other hotels. A simple “I’m sorry for the inconvenience would do’. He deserves to be demoted. Not how a manager should behave.

Not so good. Accused of sneaking dog in but we didn’t. Came through the front and used elevator right by lobby. We also went downstairs to take them out and walked out the same way when we checked out. Not sure what they’re talking about.

Pretty clean room…only complaint with the room/inside of the property was a stained towel (had enough for one night to make do without bothering staff). It was a place to sleep and shower. It was good for that at least. The area was not desirable however. We witnessed a drug bust in the parking lot while walking out to dinner. Police had a guy on the ground, weapons drawn. People just walking around like it was nothing. Obvious drug area as there were many wandering around.

Area was a little rough but the location was convenient to the freeway and the event I attended. Overall it was a lovely sight and the staff were very kind, pleasant and helpful. I still give The Spark an excellent rating.

Nice hotel with friendly people. Breakfast provided was nothing more than toast and some cold cereal choices. Very limited. Breakfast coffee we though was weak in strength. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Maid services come very early in the morning.

Over the years we’ve stayed at a number of places in Bakersfield on our way to Yosemite. Since the goal is just to grab some shut eye, we tend to look for clean, good value places. Spark has been by far the best. Excellent warm, friendly and fast checkin where the staff let us park our e-bikes in the storage areas. Rooms nicely remodeled with good wifi. Breakfast was meh— bagels and cream cheese with coffee. Conveniently close to electrify america charging station. Will certainly stay here again.

Breakfast options were pretty much non-existent. Same old routine stuff yougurt, baget, cream cheese and juice. Usually, we expect some savories for a complete breakfast, but Hilton and Spark are totally on a cost cutting spree. Otherwise, the location and comfort was good.
