The rooms are modernized and nice. It sits on a high Bluff with great views all around. There’s lots of walking either down to Dana Point Harbor, or into the shopping part of Dana Point. The restaurant breakfast was very good. The health club is nice and large.

Beautiful place. A bit of a money trap with resort fees and mandatory valet parking at close to 50.00. You can park on the street but it’s limited time parking g. If there was a parking lot we could t find it. Overall we really liked the resort. Great staff, incredible views.

We had a great few days at Laguna Cliffs. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub where drink service was provided. Many hotels in Laguna Beach don't have very nice pools. Just sayin'. We loved the view of the ocean and the marina.

Most staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Parking staff was made me feel rushed especially was I was not forewarned there was a valet only option I was not organized for a one night stay and although I did not need assistance I needed more than 30 seconds to grab my items and determine what I would need since I wouldn’t easily be able to retrieve something I forgot. Also I didn’t appreciate no where in the description did it note it would cost $60 for parking which if you bothered quoting me the $35 resort fee I would have to pay at the hotel that wasn’t included you surely should have told me about the $60 valet parking fee I would be required to pay since there is no self service parking on site or anywhere nearby.

Beautiful views of Dana Point from the hotel and beach full of surfers. Enjoyed the 2 pools and hot tubs on the property. Bonus checking out Salt Creek Beach, one of the most vibrant, clean and fun beaches in Dana Point- Laguna that is 25-30min trolly ride from the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Great property with Amazing views. The staff was very good. We borrowed bikes from the Hotel, which saved us from renting them from a local shop. Family friendly. The Gym was well equipped and there are free filtered water machines all over the property.

Great greeting upon arrival but horrible from there. From rude disrespectful hostess, to not cleaning room after asking twice for it to be done. Poor service once sat at restaurant. Called for valet to bring car up because we had electric rental that they charge you $35 extra per day. Have to valet electric cars. Told we wouldn’t be charged for having to wait twice more than 20 minutes even after calling valet from room only to be charged on departure and no manager on duty in early morning to handle. Sent email expressing poor experience and no reply yet. Beautiful place but very very disappointed

We came in town for our daughters’ Volleyball tournament. Also, we stayed a total of three nights, Only one staff member at the front desk was professional he was an older guy; he was really great. The other staff were very rude and made you feel like you were not supposed to be there. The carpets on Level one have a very strong oder. The beds are by far the worst we have slept in in years of traveling. The food was average. We either went out to eat or Door Dashed. For the money you pay and the advertising they resort does it was not worth it. Many families in our team did not stay there because of this.

Beautiful property and great walkable surroundings. Staff was generally great but most of our stay they skipped our room - had to call for towels and other standard items. Never explained why and although we reminded they still didn’t show up. Also free wi-fi is only for direct bookings.

Overall I felt taken care of and was able to decompress. The staff is amazing and fast . The parking attendants were excellent too. The management team were able to listen to any mix ups quickly and efficiently resolving minor issues the came up doing my stay. I definitely recommend this place to vacation again I. The near future . Thank you to Marriott I may think about becoming a member. My grandpup loved it especially with the huge scenic park right across the way. The restaurant was amazing. One of the bartenders though did not even acknowledge me for 25 min as I sat at the bar waiting for service. I literally had to yell to call him over so I could get a drink , there were only 2 other guys at the bar so I was literally ignored. Other than that all the others were wonderful. Places of concern were no vent in the bathroom. Soap dispenser in shower was near empty More towels and pillows as well as blanket. I felt like I had to constantly call housekeeping since I stayed for 7 days . Tissues and toilet paper, trash bags can be left in the room especially when guest are staying for a longer period of time. Valet parking was highly expensive especially when wanting to tip. The restaurants were great and live music have a wonderful ambiance. I am hoping to bring my sister in November to see how the message and workout room and the swimming, jacuzzi rate. Not much has changed since last stayed here 25 years ago. Marriot has done a great job keeping the property fresh and updated. I only use hotels to sleep in so as long as they are clean, the showers work, and the beds are comfortable and sleepable I am happy. They check all those boxes

When we checked in, it was a wedding and then we found out we had to pass right in the middle of that wedding and the guests weren't happy to see you passing their food table and party. We got some bad attitudes from their guests and when we got into our room music was so loud to the level that we didn't sleep until almost 2 am. I booked my room To get some rest but unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Love the hotel and love all the employees who are helpful and friendly but we did not get the room we reserved (we were supposed to get a balcony and we were on the ground floor) and our room was not great. It was next to some sort of utility/storage area where we hear the comings and goings of employees regularly. Other than that, love the hotel

The hotel itself was nice, gorgeous views, but the extra charge of $52 to self parking plus resort fees and other random fees at check out amounted to an extra $100. My room on the first floor had a little patio that anyone could access from outside. The screen door didn’t close properly or lock and the sliding glass door had a broken handle which you had to slam to get it to lock. I felt unsafe. There were no other rooms available to move to. Check in isn’t guaranteed until 4 which was really late. I expected more for the amount I paid. I will try to avoid Marriott’s in the future.

We booked 2 rooms with partial ocean view and both were the worst rooms they have there. Balcony in one had a very high wall blocking any direct view. Second room was facing the roof and being on the same level as the roof that's all you can see. That should be disclosed before booking. Pillows were very tiny and very uncomfortable. Sheets also were made of very cheap quality. The rooms seemed to be clean. Hotel itself is ok but our rooms were very disappointing.

Great hotel, very friendly front desk staff. Beware of hostess in restaurant. She is extremely rude. Nothing like being scolded for not having a reservation in front of your kids, after the front desk assured you, you wouldn’t need one!. And then listening to her complain about the front desk staff! Also apparently new self park system and still working out kinks, so was double charged. Still waiting for that to be resolved.

Lost our house in the Palisades fire and booked here to regroup. THE STAFF - EVERYONE - was extremely friendly, compassionate and generous. Never seen anything more heartwarming and restoring (in Humanity). This was perfect place for our stay!

Really nice hotel in an excellent location. We attended Ohana Fest and the hotel is just a few minute walk to the venue (Doheny state beach). The hotel is quiet. Good for families or couples looking for a relaxing time. Close to restaurants. In the summer you can jump on the Dana Point trolley for free and zip around the city and neighboring beach communities.

Upgraded us but it was not what I expected our ocean view was of the swimming pool. outrageous parking fee. you had to pay for the internet - in this day and age - The map of the resort did not show that there was 2 swimming pools so we endured the pool with all the noisy kids and one even mentioned to his mother he would get out after peeing in the pool. The restaurant was badly lit I could not even see the plate of clams that iw as eating, I requested candles and that was a joke - wife's sea bass was overcooked and the clams were so-so. We will never visit this resort again

Loved the location and the area. Dining is not that great. No gluten free items at all, servers don’t know anything about allergies, and you have to pay extra for coffee.

Hotel was beautiful, staff was great but we spent $285 at the Lanterns Egde, the food was not worth the price. You’re paying for the view. My husband got a $60-70 steak and when it was brought to the table they had pre cut it. Coming from Texas you do not cut a steak. All the juices had come out the the steak was dry.

The food was beautiful in appearance but absolutely tasteless which was surprising for a Marriott, ended up having to order door dash the last day is our only regret staying here. The entire team was very professional and friendly overall.

Hotel was under construction at our time of stay, we were not made aware at time of booking. Only 1 overpacked small pool with no chairs available. Lobby is practically non existent. Not an experience we were expecting from a resort. Local beach was far, no hotel transport, overcrowded and water was dirty with garbage. Overall the area is overhyped. We took no photos of anything as there was nothing impressive. Will not be visiting again when in California.

The hotel has major construction 6 days a week. It's loud and dangerous. The experience is not as advertised - not even close to relaxing; and not all amenities are available. Failure to disclose is unethical.

I was not made aware prior to booking that the hotel was under construction. There was no adult pool. I had planned a romantic weekend away with my boyfriend and I ended up next to the bumping music of the kitty pool at 9 AM with the splash zone and Art center under my window. I booked a Harborview room, but that side of the hotel was under construction. It was a disaster and the food at the restaurant was mediocre at best.
