Would have liked more non sugar options at breakfast. Also earlier time. Start at 7.

Full disclosure - there is nothing technically wrong with this place. It just...is. No frills, no amenities, nothing fancy. You get what you pay for. So that said, it is affordable and parking is cheap at $10 per day and the location is not terrible. Rooms are spacious. Bed wasn't great, but wasn't terrible. There is no daily housekeeping. Rooms are white. No decor. Dated furnishings. No USB charging lamps or other standard amenities you'd see at a larger, likely more expensive place. The photos they use in their listing are of what is probably the best room they have. I booked an "oceanfront" room and I could see some ocean, but it was by no means "oceanfront," and the view was partial and the balcony not private. The "view" (in this order) was across four lanes of PCH, a railroad track, a ditch, some rocks, and then the ocean. No beautiful sunrise or sunset view from my 3rd floor room. The balcony chairs are plastic adirondacks. The cups are plastic, the coffee and toiletries generic. I did not have breakfast there, but opted to pick up some groceries to have food in the room before I left each day. The staff were nice. I will opt for a nicer actual oceanfront room down closer to Dana Point or Laguna next time where it's prettier and more resort-like. This is neither pretty, nor is it a resort in name or function. It was an affordable place to stay. Nothing more.

My daughter and I stayed here while attending the Ohana Festival. Absolutely a great location, we were able to walk to/from the event safely. The room was so spacious and very clean. The balcony was a great bonus; we enjoyed sitting here while enjoying the gorgeous sunset. We would definitely stay here again if in the area again.

Great view of the ocean. When we were checking in the staff lady did ask if we wanted to change our room for a better view, larger room and larger bed because she said our original room booked bed was small for two people. Honestly did not want to spend more money for just one night but other then that the room was really nice. Complimentary breakfast was a nice touch.
