Laguna Beach House

Hot tub was out of service, tv had connection issues, toilet clogged but was fixed quickly. Great location, fresh daily cookies were nice.

Laguna Beach House was quaint and charming. Perfect laid back atmosphere for the two of us. We enjoyed the pool during the day and fire pit in the evening. It's within walking distance to the beach, shopping and dining. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at Laguna Beach House again.

I must start with how amazing the staff is! Super helpful and knowledgeable! The room was as described and felt very spacious with a separate sitting area. The view of the ocean was lovely! The mattress was on the softer side, but not uncomfortable. The room was clean and air conditioned (it was a hot day so very grateful for this). The underground garage had plenty of parking and had steps leading up to the guest rooms which made luggage transport a breeze. The pool is salt water, not chlorine. The hotel sits between 2 busy roads, but it was quiet overnight and in the morning. It is a half mile walk downhill to the main beach and town, though there are places to eat nearby. The trolley runs in the summer and is free. The complimentary wine and cookie were delicious. This hotel is very accommodating! I arrived 3 hours early and they checked in since my room was ready. They also allowed me to remain parked in the garage after checkout for a few hours so I could stay in town longer. If you need a beach chair or other items, they have items to borrow. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

Very cute property and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Only downside was the hot tub wasn’t working. But they allowed us to go to the sister property to use theirs. And I do wish they had more of a food and beverage offering at the hotel. But otherwise, an amazing stay that won’t break the bank.

Although the new Laguna Beach House is a nice hotel, prepare yourself for lots of extra expenses. Parking for one night additional $45; amenity fee (which was not mentioned) $35.00 plus tax$4.90 and then if drink a bottle of water you will pay for it. It felt a bit over the top on the extra charges.

LBH is in a good location, spotlessly clean, and has extremely comfortable beds. My only complaint is the “hidden” charges that are not specified on Expedia at the time of booking - $45/day to park your car and a $30 + taxes charge per day for amenities. Not sure what amenities they are referring to - maybe the pool? Beware that you will have an additional $80/day in fees.

Second time to this hotel and we love it. Small but friendly. Love the fresh cookies and wine in the afternoon. The scent in the lobby is amazing and we enjoy hanging out by the pool.

The property was fantastic. Bed super comfortable. Great walkable location. Staff was so helpful. Sad the hot tub wasn’t working but everything else was fantastic! Highly recommend this hotel.

The "partial" ocean view is if you stand on the pool deck and look through an alley that is between two buildings. The "balcony" on the "balcony" rooms is the second floor access to your room door, not an actual balcony. The pool is tiny - only about three feet wide and ten feet long. A "late" check out of 1pm will cost you an additional $80 dollars. Also don't bother to mention your stay is related to a special occasion such as anniversary because unlike other places I've stayed, not only do they not do anything special like leaving a little note in your room, they don't even greet you with a "welcome and happy anniversary, thank you for staying with us" when you check in. The room was clean and comfortable.

I had a room by the pool. I have come to this hotel many times and will continue to do so as it is close to my parents’ house. That being said, I always have a hard time with tiny bugs swarming all over the bathroom floor and/or the bathroom counter after it has been dark there for a long period of time. Also, there are not nearly enough trash cans in the room. Just one small one out in the large space and the same in the bathroom. Fine for an overnight stay but not for four days!…esp in the bedroom trash can as my family had lunch brought in on a few days! We had to smash the trash down! But again, I WILL be back. 🙃

This is a darling hotel within short distance to every thing you could possibly love about Laguna Beach. The decor is appealing, rooms are impeccably maintained and cleaned. The staff is so friendly and they add amazing little touches like coffee in the morning along with wine and freshly baked cookies in the evening. The pool is nicely appointed with a fire pit, numerous chairs, umbrellas and complimentary towels. This was our first stay and we hope to be back soon.

The bed linen was dirty with something crusty at check in. Rather than changing the linen, they left a stack of linens on the dresser for us to change. The tub drain back flowed black residue and had to be cleaned. Otherwise, we liked the style and feel of the hotel. The area is very nice, safe, and convenient. Easy access to the beachfront, shopping and dining.

We spilled water on floor, used towel to wipe up and towel was black with dirt.

This place was ok…but definitely not what we expected. Being a boutique hotel with seemingly great reviews, we found the hotel lacking. The pool area was minimal, with dead plants in the pots on tables, I mean..but a few succulents and show you’re trying!! the room was ok, however, cleanliness in the bathroom was not great. Mildew on the shower curtain and rod, dirty water runs on the baseboard, stained old tub. It looks like the renovation wasn’t full, just minimal to look acceptable. Balcony was not great, no real effort here. Staff was ok, but not over-friendly. When we left, we said thank you, the lady said, “you’re welcome” as she walked away. Just seemed like they were not happy to be there. A few of the staff were helpful and nice throughout the week, but an overall rating would be just ok. Our room wasn’t serviced one day…why? We ran out of tp in the room, asked for more and to have sheets changed since there was some sand (beach remnants:)), it’s seemed like a big ask, they changed the sheets, but no tp, had to call and ask again. It’s just the basics, but also not the service we would expect from a $400 ish per night hotel. I don’t do reviews, but I just had to write this in hopes they would see it and get better. We liked the location and the area. Laguna Beach is amazing…I wish this hotel would have been. It didn’t ruin our trip, but I won’t stay there the next time. Laguna Beach House: please do better…there’s so much potential here!!

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Laguna Beach House. The hotel room was extremely comfortable and impeccably clean, making us feel right at home. Every staff member we encountered was professional, polite, and welcoming. We especially appreciated the complimentary cookies at check-in and the location couldn’t be better - just a short walk (5 to 7 mins) to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The convenience of overnight parking in their underground garage was also a huge plus. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Laguna Beach!

Our stay at The Laguna Beach House was great. The staff was kind and helpful. The vibe was what we'd expext from a hotel in Laguna Beach - relaxing! The beds were comfortable, and the area was quiet.

The area is walkable to downtown area. The jacuzzi was not working while we were there. The staircase was very slippery (it was raining) we also felt with ants in our room. I don’t think the ant were due to a lack of cleanliness or effort on staff. I had a damp towel on the floor and when I woke up in the morning there were hundreds of ants on it, on the nightstand and a few in the tub… searching for water maybe idk

The hotel is cute and has nice touches like bathrobes and cookies. The walls in the room were very thin and we could hear full conversations from next door. The balcony had no view and in order to get pool view you had to open blinds to your own room and let everyone from outside look in.

Room was spacious, simple and pretty. Bed was comfortable. Road and other outside noise can be a deterrent, but luckily does not last all night and solved with ear plugs.

Truly one of the best boutique hotels we've stayed at. Every hotel should be equipped with their amazingly comfortable king size bed. Room was super clean and every staff member was super kind and professional. Would love to stay there again:)

The pictures did not do this place justice. The rooms are very big, clean, and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable too. Very good value for the price.

Nice, bright, clean room. Small pool, comfortable sun beds. Fire to sit around outside in pool area in the evening. Our room had a balcony which looked out onto the main highway so there was some noise. This may bother some people but we live on a busy road so we’re used to some traffic noise. Bed was very comfortable. Used the umbrella, chairs and towels provided by the hotel for Picnic Beach which was lovely and they let us use them on checkout day too. We would stay here again.

Our unit was nice, clean but a little dated. The downside is we were on the first story of a two story building and had a lot of noise from unit above us. This actually interfered with sleep as it occurred late at night.

The beds are fantastically uncomfortable and the walls are paper thin. It's effectively a retrofitted motel, but location is great and they've done a nice job upgrading. However, bring ear plugs so you don't hear people through your walls. Also, hotel should get new mattresses. Current ones are hard as a rock and exceptionally poor quality (you can feel the springs with every turn). Very nice staff and wine hour was chill

Lovely location, which is why we chose this place. We could walk to a couple of restaurants quite easily and then enjoy the views just a block away at the water. A couple of problems we encountered were first our TV did not work and since I was traveling just with my daughter, I chose not to call the front desk because I did not want someone coming into our room to try and fix it. Second from about 5 o’clock in the morning and on, we were awake due to noise and footsteps from the room above us. The walls or the ceiling was so thin we could hear footsteps, toilet, shower, and what seemed like furniture being moved for the price we paid. This was extremely disappointing.

Great little hotel, so nice to have parking where we could just grab our car and go when we needed to. Had a problem with the A/C and it was replaced the next morning! Offered complimentary wine at a nightly happy hour. Super nice staff, clean, cozy.

The staff was very helpful and friendly with check in and check out a breeze. The property is older, but it’s very pretty and clean. Our only problem was the bathroom door stuck when opening and closing it. We did have a great stay and plan to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Laguna Beach House and will definitely stay again! Marietta and the other front desk staff were incredibly kind, responsive and helpful with any needs we had. It is an old motel that has been refurbished as a very quaint surf town boutique hotel. Every detail was thought out.

We arrived to check in at 9:30pm after a day of outing in the town. Got to the lobby and no employees there, waited 15min, then yelled out for someone and heard a voice from a restroom and still had to wait another 5mins. Unacceptable, I don’t mind waiting if there’s a line or if busy. Shouldn’t have to wait 20mins if I’m the only one there.

Excellent is not the right word for the surroundings of the Laguna Beach House. The park and the Pacific are a minute away. Gorgeous and, as far as I’m concerned, magical.

Really great property! Very clean and well appointed. I could see ocean from my patio and from the main front window. It’s sits back from the beach you can’t hear it but it’s easily walkable. Literally around the corner. A lovely grocery store right down the way &great restaurants are walkable. I’m not a walker so I Uber’d to the main beach did shopping. Def want to go back. Highly recommend. I felt so taken care of here which is nice as a solo female guest. I felt very safe & welcome.

A lot of add-on fees for parking and "resort" type of daily fees for things that should be standard like coffee in the lobbey and internet access.

Cozy little hideaway right on the PCH. Great little pool, hot tub and firepit! Wine at 5, cookies at 6 and coffee in the morning. One block from beautiful Heisler Park. Fabulous coastal views. Great value for the money.

We were greeted by Michelle who was absolutely wonderful and had a vast knowledge of Laguna. She’s gave us so many great recommendations for activities (tide pools, walking/hiking trails and taking in the beautiful scenic views), transportation (riding the trolley) and some incredible restaurants with the most beautiful views and delicious food. This hotel has a fun surfer beach vibe. They offer coffee from 7-10 am, ice cold water all day in the lobby, Red and White wine from 5-6 pm followed by mouthwatering cookies from 6 pm until they are all gone! The property has an adorable little pool and jacuzzi and a chess set in the lobby. This location was absolutely perfect it was located just about 1 block from the ocean , 10-15 min walk to downtown and the main beach off broadway. Our room had a nice table, two queen size beds, nice size shower with a sink outside of the bathroom in the bedroom area (I love this feature) and a cute little balcony that overlooked the Laguna nursery Nextdoor. Such a nice relaxing time. We will definitely be back!

This boutique hotel is convenient to major restaurants and the beach, yet far enough away from all the downtown hustle and bustle. Only 36 rooms. Cozy, Super comfortable beds, spacious, bright rooms. Love the happy hour wine and cookies and early morning coffee. Only wish would be to have a microwave in the room and creamers for coffee.

Not a fan of the mini bar in the room or the items to buy in the room or the lack of a microwave, but being close to town and beach is great. Property is kept emackulet and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Rooms are well decorated. Beds so comfy. Happy hour with wine at 5:00. Warm cookies, too!
