The Tides provides very good value for the money. So close to downtown Laguna Beach. Walk to everything! And free self-accessible parking was a bonus. We went in October and used the outdoor fireplace next to the pool at night to chill after our long walks.

Our favorite Laguna Beach stay - even more so than properties several times the cost. Everyone who works there is so kind, and the rooms are perfect for families. The kitchenette facilities are so convenient. Also, this inn has hands down the warmest heated pool. We’ve comfortably enjoyed it in December and January - it’s amazing.

Nice and clean, it was a grill by the pool it was fun to grill whatever you Want 6pm in the afternoon. It was good cleaning and service, gives me ocean vibes. Warmly recomended!

It’s a great place to stay as it is close to the main beach, the free trolley, and great restaurants. The pool area was great as well. The pool was clean, it had a grill and a bar, and a fire place. It was very nice at night. Great location for a family doing a weekend getaway!

Our room was great! We loved having a little kitchenette! The beach was super easy to get to and the hotel staff was very nice and helpful with beach towels and boogie boards! This is definitely an older motel, but our room was clean and we couldn’t beat the price. We loved that there were coffee shops and a grocery store nearby as well.

My stay at The Tides Laguna Beach was for a long weekend - we only stayed a total of two nights. Since we knew we would be spending the majority of our time exploring the hills and the beaches, we wanted a simple, clean, convenient, no-frills hotel - The Tides Inn delivers on each. The only issue we ran into was one of a mildew/mold odor. It didn't bother me too much as I chalked it up to unavoidable moisture that is a constant factor that close to the beach - my fiance, however, was bothered by the odor. All that said, I'm sure there are ways to limit the exposure to moisture and decrease the likelihood that guests will be impacted. Also, be aware that sound travels very easily between rooms. Other than that, it was a great stay and I would, honestly, book again if ever I needed a place for my fiance and I to lay our heads for a week or so. I would not, however, book the Tides Inn for a family vacation. is in an amazing location, just a block away from Cliff Drive and Heisler Park. Staff are friendly, helpful, and responsive.

While this is an older property it has been well maintained. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom is tiny. My wife and I are tall and it was tough to bathe the shower was so small the door was popped open each time we moved our arms. Not a deal breaker, but we are slender and it might be difficult for larger guests. Beds were better than average. Comes with free parking and that is a bonus in Laguna Beach. Our room was at the front of the property and it was quiet, just a little traffic noise from PCH. Nothing to keep someone from sleeping. This is a nice property, but be prepared to deal with the limitations listed above.

Everything was great. It smells like flowers on the whole property. The place is so well kept. You can tell the owners and staff take pride in this place. They also have beach stuff for you to use. Pool was great and the outdoor fireplace. Zero complaints.

The property itself is older but very well maintained and updated rooms. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and nice. Pool area is clean and well taken care of. The fireplace is on each evening. Parking is available for each room and is free.

We thought this was a wonderful little motel and a good value! The staff was super welcoming and helpful, and the rooms were renovated and very cute. Comfortable beds, Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator, bottled water and lots of quaint touches like games and books. Easy covered parking and a nice little pool. Also really convenient to the beach, dining etc. Excellent front desk service and good WIFi. Highly recommended!

Great location for Heisler Park and walking around Laguna. Rooms simple but have everything you need. Cleanliness left a little to be desired, and when discussing a dripping tap, water under the sink and leaving a hairdryer wet there was no apology or action taken, which was a shame.

My expensive room had a ceiling with water damage, the paint on the bathroom door was peeling off, the one small table was damaged and outside by the parking supplies for the building were haphazardly stacked up. I was given a discount after I complained. The staff was friendly.

The Tides was a perfect location, within walking distance to all amenities, and a great scenic beach walk. The reason for my not-so-stellar review is that the floors and walls are paper thin (it's an old property) so I could hear conversations and feel footsteps above and near me during my stay. If you book, I hope you don't end up in Room 210 (if I remember correctly) as that is a tiny corner room with ZERO natural light.

The room was really spacious. A king bed & two oversized chairs in the main room. A galley kitchen with plenty of pots, pans & utensils if you wanted to cook & full size stove & fridge. Several restaurants less than 5 minute walk.

Was on 2nd floor in large room with kitchen. Very clean and comfortable. Very large bedroom, separate sitting/dining room and a galley kitchen with everything we needed. Wood floors look recently refinished - they sparkled! Loved the decorations. Comfortable beds with lots of pillows. Windows face towards Pacific Coast Hwy and the pool - no problem if road noise does not bother you. There are supplied ear plugs for those who don’t like road sounds. 3 min walk to the beach and magnificent sunsets. 5 min walk to restaurant and market and 10 min walk downtown. All in all, very nice room.

The staff are very accommodating. Rooms cutely furnished; comfy beds. Nice linens and towel. Two frustrations — the hot water was very slow to heat up in two different rooms. Ran the shower for at least 5 minutes to get it hot enough. A real no-no in drought-prone California. Second issue is the paper-thin walls. Heard low talking voices til 1:30 a.m. on one side and someone carrying on a very long, loud cell phone conversation at 5:15 a.m. on the other side. No way to stop ‘em or get away from it. It’s an old place so no thick walls to dull the sound but solely based on that, I wouldn’t stay again. Too bad cause it’s a fun, funky place with a good location on Coast Highway in north Laguna Beach.

I stayed at Tides for one night as I was attending the art festival. Everything about my stay was positive. The staff are lovely, my room was very clean and even had a bath and kitchenette! The location is perfect for walking into town. Parking is included on the property grounds. I would definitely stay again.

Super helpful staff. They were friendly and allowed us to leave our luggage in the main office until check in. Once they contacted us that our early check in was ready, they moved our bags to our room. It was super great that they offered towels, boogie boards, and chairs for the beach with our stay!

The staff was extremely kind, and the location was very clean. I was able to walk almost everywhere, including to a very nice nearby grocery store, and five minute walk from the ocean. There is a free trolly that stops very close to the hotel as well.

I loved my stay at the Tides!! It’s a wonderful jewel in Laguna. Near galleries and the pacific coast trail. An easy walk to downtown and the beach. My room was impeccable and loved the vintage touches in my room the little dressing room and vanity. Updates made it fresh and clean, thick towels and lots of hot water. A personal note from the manager was a nice personal touch. In room coffee was dark roast and that’s perfect! So many details were attended to! Thank you Sara and Anderson at the front desk, and the staff in housekeeping were amazing - thank you for your attention to detail. I’ve already made a reservation to return again! I loved this spot ❤️

It's well located. Relatively quiet considering it's on the street, which gives it its excellent convenience. Very clean and extremely well laid out in each room. It's a tried and true favorite. Parking is a challenge. That's the only downside.

Everyone working there was helpful, welcoming, and appreciative. We had a very nice room on the top floor facing the ocean. The location of The Tides is what makes it so special. We never needed to use our car. Restaurants, art galleries, lovely shops, entertainment, and the breathtaking views of the ocean from the nearby paved trail were all within walking distance even for me, a woman in her 70s. We hope to return someday.
