Decent hotel but some definite pros and cons. Pros: very near UCLA's campus. The hotel offers free shuttles to the UCLA medical center as well. Complimentary breakfast was better than expected. Cons: attached is a picture from my room. Was this at high noon in the middle of summer with that much light coming through the curtain??? Nope, that was in the middle of the night. I tried to find a light switch to turn of the patio lights and there is not one. I called the front desk and they said that they said that the lights have to stay on to light the alleyway. These were very bright lights. Next, the parking spots were very small. If you end up renting a car, be aware that the parking spot are a bit precarious. Overall a good experience but if you like to sleep in total darkness like I do, maybe consider a different hotel.

Great location. Perfect for my needs. Walkable to food and entertainment and stores. The elevator is the only odd aspect. It would sometimes go down then back up to the floor you started at without opening at the lobby.

The price for the room is unbeatable. Not the fanciest by any means, but comfortable and clean. Parking is a pain, but it's free, so I can't complain about that. Just be prepared to park in very tight, narrow spaces.

Corner room 323 had skylight in bathroom which was nice so didn’t need to flip the light switch in the middle of the night. Staff pleasant. Mini fridge was a good temp. No freezer section. Coffee maker is the kind to brew a single cup from a filter bag. Didn’t use the TV, microwave, room safe or patio. Only grabbed an orange and granola bar from breakfast. Checked in right at 3pm on purpose to get a self-park space. Tight but okay for mid size sedan. No way an SUV, minivan or super duty truck would fit! Friday night in LA you’d expect late activity but only heard guests in hall 11 pm. Some dude screaming his head off out on the street before 8 am though. Glad to be on upper floor! Hammer Museum an easy block walk. UCLA campus under a mile.

This place is in a great area and has free parking. The staff was friendly. The room was really spacious but some of the building (lobby, elevator, exterior) are aging. The room was relatively up to date but not the cleanest. One towel was very dirty and o e of the beds had less that clean sheets.

This hotel is in a good location but the facility is located behind several restaurants which have garbage cans next to the hotel. The dirty water flow out from the kitchen and garbage cans. It was not a pleasant experience. The staff was nice but the hotel carpet was dirty and old. The room AC was not working properly at all and the room smells not good. We had to turn off the AC completely and opened the windows. The toilet was leaking water from the bottom and it was not a good experience at all. Not sure why other people rated high on this hotel.

Pros: -very close to Ronald Reagan so we were able to walk to visit a family member. They also have a shuttle but we never used it. -Cute neighborhood with many restaurants. - one of the employees at the front desk was very sweet and helpful. Cons: -Mold present all over the bathroom in unit 212. Very upset especially since my baby was exposed to this mold. -was charged an additional $10 per night for an "extra" guest even though I only had 3 people for a room that sleeps 4.

Very clean rooms. The cleaning crew is doing a great job. Big rooms. Good breakfast which you can take to your room as there is a dining table and four chairs. Parking is ok.

We've stayed twice before in double queen rooms; the rooms weren't fancy but they were clean, comfortable, and a great value for Westwood. This time we did a single queen and the room reeked of mildew and had extensive water damage around the slider as well as a horrible drywall patch directly over the bed. The room was very shabby and needs a serious cleaning. They said they were unable to change rooms for us.

I knew this would feel motel-ish and it really does. Positive was the room was clean and spacious. General facility is medium run down. I’m too picky, but I thought it was gross that the stairs had carpet which seemed really old and dirty and was never vacuumed. I was happy for the location but will look around for some place else next time I visit.

Check in was quick. Parking was easy. Pillows too much lumpy stuffing (all 4 of them), bring your own. Our room was dark. Bathroom was very cramped/small. Room and bathroom were clean. Nice to have a fridge. Bottom sheet on bed was inside out (that was a first). Room was dated with dark carpet and dark brown floor to ceiling curtains across the entire back wall. It was quiet and overall it was eh, for the price paid

Parking space is very small. Staff might have to move your car depending on where you park. Room temperature was uncomfortable upon walking into it. took about an hour for the room to cool down. There were several internet connectivity issues. Maybe they need to upgrade the bandwidth and speed.

When I came in a bit early to check in to my room with my daughter, the senior white man rudely asked, “Can I help you?” I asked if we could check-in and he loudly exclaimed, “No! The rooms are still being cleaned.” I was about to leave with my daughter, when another white couple arrived to check-in. The senior receptionist suddenly changed his attitude and simply asked them for their name and where they’re visiting from. He assigned them a room, so I decided to ask again. He impatiently told me, “Listen! Let me finish up here first.” He ended up assigning us a room by the laundry room and where the staff congregates. Although there was nothing wrong with the room itself, the ice machine across from our room was very disruptive. Besides the older white individual, the rest of the staff was very kind and gracious to us during our stay.

I showed up at the Royal Palace with my back completely thrown out while on a solo roadtrip and was very moved by the staff's kindness. They helped me get into my room early so I could lie down, and when it unexpectedly got much worse they helped me extend my stay and even brought me a fork when my food delivery was missing one! I will absolutely be back and especially recommend the Royal Palace to anyone dealing with medical stuff or disabilities. They were so understanding and nice which made a scary situation much less stressful. Thank you all!!

We had a nice stay at the Royal Palace Westwood hotel for three nights. The hotel is in a safe location walking distance from the UCLA campus. Staff are nice and welcoming. Parking spaces are narrow and are good for compact sized cars.

Simple, no frills hotel with a great location in Westwood. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking can be tight but still very convenient considering the location. Breakfast is decent - bagels, pancakes, cereals, pastries. You have it take it to your room, which was not a problem because we had table and chairs in our room.

The first room we were given smelled heavily of smoke. The second room was better, but there must have been pets previously in the room, because my allergies were bad all night and I could barely breathe. The bathroom was the nicest part of the room, recently renovated. The continental breakfast was a joke and they should just eliminate it as an option. The food was horrible. My son got generic Cherrios as well as generic milk, which he had to throw out because it was inedible. He is NOT a picky child, so I was surprised that it tasted so bad, but trusted him. I stuck with a banana and instant oatmeal, since that is hard to mess up. Anyway, better to not do the breakfast at all. The parking was crowded and very narrow, so don't bring a large car. The only thing good about the hotel was its location, close to Westwood and walking distance to UCLA, which was why we were there.
