SureStay Hotel by Best Western Santa Monica

We stayed at SureStay for 2 nights. I will say right off the bat that the gentleman who was working at the front desk the night we checked in and the morning that we checked out was very friendly and respectful. He gets 5/5 stars. As for the room itself, we were a little disappointed in the price for the value of what we got. The bed was average but not extra cozy, the pillows were clumpy and not very supportive and there was no mini fridge or microwave in the room at all. The room was a decent size for 2 people but any more and it would have been horribly cramped. We were on the second floor and certain areas of our floor creaked, so I felt really bad if there were people in the room below us because it was really bad right in front of our sink/bathroom area so if we were brushing our teeth or needing to walk to the bathroom it would make a lot of noise. The hotel is located in a very convenient area (Trader Joe's is a 2 minute walk down the road and lots of restaurants around too).

Breakfast was okay. I left two brochures in my room. The cleaning staff removed it and brought to a front desk. That was very strange. Never happen to e anywhere before. I thought that was very strange. When I couldn't find the brochures. I called the front desk and they told me they had it. Housekeeper should not remove something belong to the guests.

Clean room, great price, friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel buildings are older, but the rooms are nicely remodeled. I stayed in the building with the center courtyard...it reminded me of the TV show Melrose Place. Room was nice and clean and remodeled in a nice modern design. Breakfast was adequate. No hot food except a pancake machine. Staff was super nice. They do charge for parking in their lot.
