Loved this hotel. Parking is tight, but lots of spaces. Courtyard rooms are great. Loved the outside chairs and grill. Thankful for the coffee pot and frisge.

My family and I had a terrible experience. We found a cockroach in our hotel room. The carpets were dirty and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. The sinks/pipes had a terrible smell in both the rooms we were placed in. We alerted the staff that a roach was found in our room and in fairness we were able to switch rooms instantly. However, based on this experience, I can safely say this hotel is one, if not the worst hotel we've stayed at and won't be staying in another SureStay or Best Western affiliate - and would advise others to do the same.

Very clean. Updated in 2019. Comfortable bed. We had a room closest to the street so it was a little loud but not unbearable. Breakfast area was basic but everything was fresh and clean. They had yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, fresh fruits, pancake maker, milk, OJ and apple juice. Staff was very friendly. Secure area. Nice patio to sit outside. Trader Joe’s is next store so that was convenient as 1 evening we just purchased a microwave dish for dinner. Spa tub in our room was clean and comfortable. Parking was convenient and free which was a plus!

The back entrance was supposed to be closed at all times but was always left open. The front desk was made aware and nothing changed. It made the environment feel very unsafe.The towels were flimsy and very rough. Rooms need more lighting.

The cleaning staff turn the AC off every day when they clean your room so you come in to a boiling hot and humid room. Turning the AC back on doesn’t cool the room back up by morning meaning you sweat all night. Since the rooms are unairconditioned when not occupied, they smell like mold. Other than that the hotel was very clean and very lovely.

When I first drove up i was not expecting much, the building has an older design but well kept, the surrounding area going through redevelopment, I was quite surprised, the receptionist was friendly and receptive. The grounds were secured by a locked metal gate. When I walked into the room I went “wow this pretty nice”. Very clean and spacious, the room had a little dinette with table and chairs. Every tissue and towel was creatively folded (the little things). The bed was comfortable with plush bedding. I felt felt very comfortable staying here.

Overall it was ok. The carpet in my room was nasty and had a bad smell. I had to keep the ac on low or the room would get stuffy and start to smell. It’s old worn out stained carpet. However, the breakfast and staff were nice. I, however, wouldn’t stay there again.

Lovely little place. Our room was modern and clean and had a small kitchen. Great shower! Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. The pillows were a little lumpy, but thats my only complaint.

Nice sized clean room in a walkable neighborhood with a Trader Joe's next door. My room had a jacuzzi tub, small fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Continental breakfast was adequate -- I was glad to find gluten-free bread to make toast.

The location is very close to Santa Monica beach so it was nice. The only thing is it’s on Pico Blvd so it can hear the traffic if someone speeds down the road at night.

Our trip was abbreviated by the Palisades Fire. The night we spent there was excellent in spite of the developing situation. They were very accomodating and allowed us to cancel our remaining days without penalty. We will stay there again.

Horrible experience. Arrived from a 6 am flight and they put me in a room where they were laying carpet upstairs. Employee in the front was rude from the moment we walked in. Tub didn’t work. Breakfast was basic.

I confess that I booked this in a hurry and I thought I was booking a HOTEL and with a pool. This is a glorified motel and there’s no pool. It’s also in the middle of a busy road with no shops really nearby. Reception staff were generally nice. The rooms are very spacious and clean. To make the most of your stay here you need a car but if not you can get a pass to use the big blue bus which is super easy to use, cheap ($1.10 per trip) and takes you everywhere around Santa Monica. Breakfast was ok and there’s also a Trader Jo’s a big blue bus stop away from motel. You can walk back with light shipping. There’s also a Wholefoods about two stops away in the opposite direction. Recommended only for short stays but it’s pricey especially for solo travellers

Property was very conveniently located for us to use as a base for day trips to: Santa Monica and Venice beaches (walked one day and bused another), West Malibu and Ventura (drove), the Getty Villa and Center (drove), and Hollywood Boulevarde (bus and metro train). We enjoyed experiencing this side of LA by various means. Surestay was clean, comfortable, provided sufficient breakfast options for our preferences, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Would stay again. Thank you.

This is really a very good stay for the price. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and provided everything you need. Breakfast was simple but definitely sufficient - plenty of spreads, many choices of packet beverages, creamers. Breakfast also includes pancakes from an automatic pancake maker, hard boiled eggs, packet milk, toasts, bagels, gluten free bread, apples, bananas etc

Everything was great, the only request I would put in is better breakfast options, like hot food. Scrambles Eggs, Bacon, Sausage or grits. The breakfast consist of a lot of starch but no other options. Just a suggestion. 😊
