Ocean Park Hotel

Quiet, lots of parking, easy to find, clean, friendly staff, and close to stores and restaurants. No AC but there is a ceiling fan and the window can be left open overnight to cool down.

This is a great spot to lay your head. There is ample parking and the parking lot is well lit. We arrived at 9:30p. The lobby is a bit small, 1 person office. We just politely waited in the hallway. Check in did not take long and the clerk was friendly. He made sure we understood that the bathrooms were shared. It is listed in the hotel description. Our room was on the second floor. It was clean and the window was open to allow fresh air. There was a ceiling fan to allow circulation. The bathroom is located halfway down the hall so not far from the room and it was clean. There is a shampoo in the shower. Remember you towels which are in your room :) It was an enjoyable stay and our family will be returning.

Parking was simple. Close to pretty much everything I needed. I was very satisfied with my stay.

Great value at great price. We chose the room with private bathroom, comfortable bed and free parking. Will stay again if need to.

This is a no frills old school style hotel. You have to share a bathroom and shower with whatever floor you're on and it's a two-story hotel. There are separate showers and restroom accommodations for each men and women on each floor. The rooms do not have air conditioning but they do have a very nice fan and some rooms have a sink. Wi-Fi is free and decent and cable television have lots and lots of channels. The room I was in faced the parking lot so I was able to keep an eye on my vehicle and it was relatively quiet. This is kind of like an international hotel most of the guests are coming from Europe other places so if you're a Yankee it's pretty awesome to meet new people. The two people that I dealt with the day shift and the night shift or morning and evening were both amazing guys. Truly awesome great service. It's easy to doordash stuff if you need it there's a couple of really good places in the area and you're not all that far from the pier. The neighborhood is mostly residential and felt very very safe. During the day they'll be lots of dog walkers This is a nice place to be. I would recommend that you pack a pair of flip flops with you to make your shower experience better but the cleaning staff does a great job and honestly this is way cleaner than many places I've stayed. I definitely will come back if I'm in Santa Monica again.

Very nice location a lot of good restaurants , short drive to Santa Monica Pier , big parking lot available ,service is excellent. Very nice people running the property. The only downside was you have to share the bathroom and the shower. Which I didn’t find any problem it was very clean .

Plenty of parking and worth every penny

Very nice for the price. Bathrooms are communal on each floor, but are very clean and private. Beds are comfortable with a TV and nice blackout curtains. Offset from the becah but still close enough, parking wasn't super clear but a small lot past the hotel provided ample parking.

It was good for the price. Tip...if you need a desk you have to ask for one. There is a reason they provide ear plugs. The walls are thin. There was little noise during sleep hours. If you go, keep quiet for you neighbors sake. Shared bathrooms are clean. Off street parking is free. Lot fills up. Walk to restaurants. My favorite is il forno.

Room was fine. Staff friendly and responsive. The shared bathroom was new for me but worked fine. The free parking is a huge plus. It’s on the edge of a nice and quiet neighborhood. Within walking distance of a few restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay again

The room was quaint and on the smaller side. No biggie since it was just me, but i do not suggest for families. My room had a sink only since the bathrooms are shared. The bathrooms are clean, but the showers did smell of mold. I wore my sandals! My room was not cleaned once despite having placed the "please tidy up" door hanger on my door. I asked the employee at the desk about this, and he said the housekeeper should have came and would let them know for the next day. Again, no one cleaned my room. I was there for 6 days. Overall, my stay was okay. Also, please keep in mind you can hear everything, and the rooms do not have air conditioners, only ceiling fans.

Overall it was satisfactory. We had no issues and appreciate how they provided make up wipes, bar of soap, and ear protection. The bathrooms were clean, staff was nice, and available parking during our stay.

Very clean and friendly staff. I didnt want a whole microwave for just one time so they were kind enough to let me use their breakroom. Perfect for my solo trip. If you're used to walking then everything was walking distance but even if you're not all forms of public transportation were basically right in front or like 2 blocks away. The shared bathrooms were always clean too

It was as advertised. It's not the "Century Plaza Hotel", but if that price who would expect it to be! The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the remote control television was clear with many channels to choose from, and the manager was friendly and helpful. There are clean, shared bathrooms. The one night that I stayed there I used the bathroom three times, not once did anybody else appear while I was in there.

Was prepared for the shared bathroom, but it was a mess. Also note no air conditioning, which is fine most times of the year, but open window meant quite a loud evening. The room was also extremely small.

The property is old, but the rooms and the shared bathroom was clean. I never actually ran into anyone in the shared bathroom. It was perfect for a one night stay near my office.

We really appreciated the fact that an original building was saved and transformed into a quaint and affordable hotel. The decoration was interesting and the rooms adequate. Even with showers/bathrooms in the corridor, we never had an issue even when the property was sold out. We realize that extensive maintenance and renovation was necessary to bring the rooms up to par. However, one of the only issue we noticed concerns the showers stalls. Tiling will definitely need to be restored before water seeps more into the walls and leaves purple streaks all over them. Also, it would be nice if the cleaning ladies didn't start making noise so early in the morning... :) In any case, we thank you for a very pleasant stay.

Rooms are quite sparse, like a dorm room. My room was next to a makeshift outdoor patio they placed the parking lot because there aren’t any common spaces.

This property is probably cheap but the overall status of the room and amenities were good. The room had a pedestal sink and mirror , a mini fridge and microwave. The lighting would be better with a lamp as it was bright and overbearing. There was no remote for the tv so i had change it from the box. No ac unit in the room but was fine since it wasnt hot. The shared bathroom was fine but one of the showers, the pressure was extremely low. You can hear doors slamming throughout the night and people stomping around. Other than that, the stay was comfortable and the place seems well kept and clean. Staff was nice too

Very comfortable room, but on the small side. A little pricey for the room we got but that's California for you.

There are no air conditioning which made the room uncomfortable and hot. The TV didn't work at all.

No a/c in room. Window was broken and only half would allow to be open. Not booking here again.

A freshly painted flophouse. Noisy doors. Zero amenities, except 2 free sets of earplugs. Really! A bed and a tv.

super hot, No Ac. Super noisy neighbors the TV was so loud and I’m pretty sure it was right next to the wall we were sleeping next to.

The bathrooms are closed for cleaning in the morning. I don’t mind leaving my room to use the bathroom- but it is a HUGE problem when you can’t get access to a toilet when you wake up in the morning and both the cleaning crew and Anthony at the front desk were so rude and disrespectful about it. Instead of giving me access to a toilet- they both argued with me. This is completely unacceptable. If you are going to have rooms without their own bathroom- You CANNOT close the bathrooms in the morning before checkout!! It’s not 9:40 am, checkout is 11:00am and the bathroom on my floor and the handicap bathroom downstairs. There is one other bathroom available for the entire female population of this hotel. It has two stalls and both have been occupied. I have literally been running all around the hotel in my pjs to find a place to pee.

The staff was not there when I checked in. I had to wait for a long time.

Great experience over all but checking in can be a process. One time the guy wasn’t there and we waited 30 minutes for him to come back. But over all a decent place.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ocean Park hotel. The staff was very polite and went out of their way to help. The rooms and common spaces were always clean. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, and there are several cafes and diners within walking distance—there’s even a cute coffee cart right by.

The property is a nice and quaint building, that reminds you of something that you might find on the beach. Unfortunately, some of the rooms include a very small desk and chair. Additionally, some of the employees are rude and the door is left open at night. It appears that there are a few people that try to sneak into this hotel. The showers are clean but the windows are kept open. No A/C but it is rather cool at night, the downside is that there are people constantly yelling in the area. You have great dining options that are walking distance.

Lovely place - bathrooms looked brand new, beautiful shower tiling and frosted glass doors, room came with a mirror, towels, luggage rack, fridge, and a small vanity with a chair. My room was on the first floor and the window overlooked a small, grassy yard-like space with lots of sunshine and fresh air. Bed was comfy. Shared bathroom for toilets and showers, but my room had a sink in it too which I was pleasantly surprised by. There's a Santa Monica Bus stop half a block down the road, great beach access with a single 15-minute bus ride, always felt safe walking around even as a woman traveling alone. Convenient for people visiting Riot Games Arena, too - it's a half-hour walk or so.

Ocean Park Hotel offers a highly reasonable room rate and is an excellent home base stay in Santa Monica due to its neighbourhood situated location and close proximity to transit, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica's snazzy waterfront area shopping district with impressive eateries, and park space located within a short walk to Pico Blvd and those that exist on Ocean Park Blvd itself. I wouldn't think twice about booking another stay upon next year's return, all my simple guest needs were met.

We liked our stay. Clean, quiet, great location and access to public transportation. Trader Joe's is near by. A coffee machine would be nice on the premise.

Let's see: Trader Joes near by; 7-1ll near by; restaurants (Mexican, Japanese, Mediterranean, Italian), near by. Starbucks, near by. Quiet neighborhood. Everything clean. Excellent staff. Yep, I'm happy!

Very friendly staff, very clean room and bathroom. Super comfortable bed. It feels more like a luxury hostel. My room had a bathroom but they had many different sleeping rooms with shared bathrooms. I loved the photos of the lifeguards of Santa Monica! As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe. Nicely tucked away in a residential neighborhood.

The hotel’s location is very convenient, there are a lot of restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and bus stops nearby. The room and the bathrooms are nicely clean, and the staff is very friendly.
