Property was very nice. Resort fee per day is around $33 $5 fee that you have to pay on top of the room reservation. It includes sparking wine, fitness room, pool, bike rentals, and more. WiFi is free but be careful with signing on for the first time as there’s an option for $20 per day high speed internet right next to the free option. Fitness room is a little small but works for a short stay. Pool is also a little small but works. It is reasonable walking distance to Santa Monica Pier & the Promenade. Parking here is very limited near by as there’s only meter parking with 2 hour limit. Valet is pricy at $50 per day. If you’re going to rent a car and looking for overnight parking, there is the Civic Center parking garage that is maybe a 3-5 minute walk which ranged 15-25$ for overnight parking each day. It is also fairly cheap for all day parking. Overall the stay was great & the hotel was great.

It’s about a 30-minute walk to the Santa Monica Pier. The location itself is just okay—not great, not terrible—but the hotel was excellent. Super clean, and the highlight was the free bike rentals. That ended up being the best part of our trip since we spent a whole day biking along the LA waterfront.

I was there for 9 nights. The key is to book a room with an ocean view and balcony. The neighborhood is not great, but not terrible, either. It's very close to the beach. 15 minute walk to Santa Monica Pier, as well. One minor complaint: there is a daily "Destination Fee" added of $39/day. This is pretty steep for just a pool (a nice pool, mind you), but one where you are not permitted to bring out any food or drinks.

Very nice weekend stay, staff was very helpful and courteous. Enjoyed the free bike rental. However- only 2 elevators serving a large and very busy hotel on a weekend and 1 was out of service during our entire stay! Elevator wait times could hit 20 minutes at peak morning and late afternoon times. Not what you expect from this type of hotel.

The valet parking was very inconvenient. Had to wait 30 minutes to get my car. Also needed a cart for my luggage but they needed to supervise everything so carried everything without any luggage cart. Near the pool table there was no ventilation. Also room had no coffee maker or paper cups to make tea. Swimming pool was nice salt water but not heated.

Spent four nights in mid August. Lovely Hotel. Inviting lobby and bar. Pool and gym are nice. It’s a bit of a hike to the beach and pier, maybe a half mile. But it is walkable. Valet parking only, $60 a night, but they were very quick getting the car. They use a text message system which was super easy. They provide bottled water and towels for the beach. Overall enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

This hotel is under construction...I tripped and fell on construction debris, my room was recently painted and the air was contaminated with paint fumes, the staff was surly and unhelpful. I did not sleep and was nauseous and had a headache in the AM. THIS HOTEL IS A HEALTH AND SAFEY DANGER...DO NOT STAY HERE!

There were a few things wrong with my stay. First there was another guests old food in the fridge when I arrived. Then there was a party right outside my balcony that made it difficult to have any privacy. There were multi color lights shining into my room. Finally I was told I wasn’t allowed to sit near the pool with a coffee unless I bought the coffee from the hotel. When I tried to move to the lobby I was told by a rude member of the bar staff that I wasn’t allowed to drink it in any communal spaces but was allowed to drink it in my room. After charging an outrageous and mandatory 33 dollar a day “amenities fee” it is insane that I can’t drink a coffee near the amenities. This hotel charges for the “privilege” of using a pool and gym but has outdated rules on how to use them. That alone will stop me from ever staying here again

I was in Hotell mainly for sleep. The mattress is super old with a big indentation in the middle. It created lower back pain for me The room carpet is dirty. hairs were found on The bathroom floor and its counter as I walked in. Thanks to my Lysol wipes I took care of it The valet staff were nice, friendly, and helpful The protest outside of the hotel was not pleasant

The lobby and restaurant are great. The rooms were styled nicely however they were not clean. Upon arriving the room smelled musky. The AC on the wall was not working. The bathroom was not properly cleaned. The bathroom floor, toilet and bathtub had body hair from a previous guest, all over. I was very uncomfortable.

I would not recommend this hotel. The location is not safe, especially at night—it feels dangerous to walk around the area. The pool advertised is extremely misleading. In reality, it is very small, only allowing a few people at a time, and it is impossible to actually swim in it. The so-called fitness center is just a tiny room with a couple of machines, nothing like what you would expect from a proper gym. The staff, especially those working at night, were rude and unprofessional. While I was outside the hotel using my vape, security ordered me to move to the sidewalk, and the front desk staff were far from welcoming or polite. Although the room itself was fine, the towels were disappointing—they did not feel properly clean or fresh. Overall, this hotel did not meet expectations, and I would strongly suggest looking for other options.

We enjoyed our 5-night stay at this hotel. It was clean, spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel other than sleeping, but we tried to utilize a lot of the amenities when we could. The restaurant offered a variety of food, the pool was refreshing, and the complimentary glasses of champagne were an added bonus! The location was also very convenient, as we were able to walk to Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica Pier, and Venice Beach. We'd definitely stay here again in the future!

Balcony room facing the ocean is key here. Can sleep with the ocean breeze. Times spent in room for various reasons makes it not feel like a bummer. Bar staff was awesome. Pool area umbrellas and such could use an upgrade. All staff was nice.

Great view from ocean view room. AC was not working and we don't have a coffee machine in the room. Also, i think we are next to a utility closet as there are wooshing and thumping sounds that you could hear esp at night.

My room (723) wasn’t any bigger than the dorm room I had in college. Barely any room to walk around the bed without bumping into a wall. The coffee maker is only there if requested. Parking fee is very high. This was my second time staying and the first was much, much better with a bigger room.

Perhaps this property will get a facelift as it changes into a Hyatt very soon. The location is great (walk to beach), the pool is private but needs "life." The fitness center needs better air circulation and less blasting music! My room was a double that smelled like smoke, and even after requesting a diffuser or some kind of refreshing, the stale smoke smell was always there. The shower wouldn't stay on ... if water pressure dropped a little, it would pop off. The makeup mirror was limp and wouldn't stay in place, etc...The room essentially needs an update all around. But the staff was great and responsive.

The ocean view was great but the room was very small with the 2 queen beds. We needed a guest to tell us that you need the room key to make the elevator work (the front desk did not tell us right at check in, but pointed them out). Beds were not comfortable and we had to check out 1 day early (no refund either).

I’ve stayed here several times while visiting my son. In general it is excellent, but a couple of comments 1. I was woken on my first day there (Saturday) by the strikers outside which I suppose couldn’t be helped. 2. the room was excellent except that I wish there was a light behind the chair for reading and the bottom electrical socket by the bed did not work. in these days of rechargeable everything that’s kind of a big deal. Nevertheless I will clearly stay here when I am in Santa Monica

Tracey, the front desk staff was horrible. We showed up 30 minutes early to check in, rooms not ready, that’s fine. She’s suppose to call when it is ready. Check ins at 3 though so we didn’t think it was a big deal. 3:10 rolls around and still haven’t heard anything. We go ask Tracey and she says the people in our room aren’t checking out until 5….oooooay, why didn’t you tell us that when we tried to check in earlier? She was also beyond rude and would not let anyone speak. They tried to downgrade our room and offer to waive the property fee and car parking fee. Absolutely not. We left and got a better room at the Jamaican bay inn in marina del Ray.

Stay here regularly and always a great seat - love the staff - friendly and professional - rooms are clean and comfortable - gym is good and has peloton bikes - pool area nice! Location is good in that it’s walkable to Main Street Santa Monica but less expensive than the hotels in the beachfront!

Christian and team were great. Darius was so welcoming when we arrived and gave us a complimentary breakfast to help celebrate our 40th birthdays. Hugo and Alex helped us arrange a car rental for the day. Marta was always friendly and helpful with our requests for extra towels or water. Would definitely recommend the stay, just for the staff alone! Thank you

I had a wonderful time here. The restaurant staff are amazing and super helpful. The front office staff is also top-notch the front office manager Shirad and his team are doing an incredible job. I stayed here for a week, and can’t wait to come back.

What a pleasant surprise! The location was very convenient and the lobby had a great feel to it. But the staff was the most notable part of our stay. From Valet, to Reception to Housekeeping - the friendliest, most welcoming people. What a delight. Thank you!

A solid, affordable hotel walking distance from the beach (ten minutes or so). Pros: - good location - decent food - illy coffee in AM - pool, game room - balconies with views of city/water Cons: - could use a better tap list at the bar (I'd suggest a local hazy, like Madewest hazy IPA) - the first room we were put in had a burst pipe, and a mechanic/plumber was dealing with it when we arrived (it smelled terrible), so they moved us to another one, but this one had a city view, not an ocean view, so it was essentially a downgrade. It was also, we learned the next morning, right above the hotel entrance, where protests began at 7:30 AM. The hotel staff should have disclosed this and moved us to the other side of the hotel, as sleep - or doing much of anything - is basically impossible for 1-1.5 hours. So make sure to ask for a room NOT facing the hotel entrance, and do some googling on the protests. - They moved us after we brought this up, so we got to the other side of the hotel. The room was great but when we got into the queen bed it had sand under the covers, which was not ideal.

The hotel is nice and remodelled. Did not use any amenities except for coffee which is excellent since it was too cold this weekend for the pool or bike rides etc. I have an equinox membership so did not use their gym but rooms are good size. Bed comfortable - love that they had robes, slippers and a desk for some work. Would stay again if prices remain competitive as the hotels location is less convenient then the hotels after boardwalk.

I didn’t love the location. It’s a bit sketchy to walk after dark. Also the room had an odor of mustiness. We tried two rooms, same issue. Hallways were a bit odd too. But I liked the lobby a lot, and the front staff were very nice. Pool was nice too. Gym was sufficient.
