Great condo. The day pass for the pool, gym, and other recreation was phenomenal. We went during the off season. While it was great there was no crowd, on the flip slide most establishments for food and entertainment were closed. That's not a reflection of the property, but more about the season. Great property and staff!

Rooms have no air conditioning. The patio door and screen were left open prior to our check in, the thermostat was registering 92degrees in the room. Mini swamp cooler was not functioning. After 3 attempts, was able to contact customer service. They brought 2 additional fans. Achieved a decent temp by 11:00pm thanks to Mother Nature. We paid a 77 dollar resort fee, only to find out that to use the pool and facilities was an additional 10$ per guest. When requesting a late check out of 12:00pm (which was stated was an option included in the resort fee) we were told no. Those things aside, location is great. Very cool view over the village. I would say this would be a much better stay during the winter.

First impression was guest parking and that was a struggle. We arrived late (11pm). Check in was smooth and staff was excellent! He instructed us to search for a space marked in green, which we could not find. We contacted the safety patrol person and he found us a place to park in the main parking area, which we did not know about. When we finally made it to the second floor of the Timber Creek Lodge, we noticed the carpet was terribly stained. As a ski resort, we recognize that it is almost impossible to keep it looking clean. Finally, we were surprised by the extra $10 fee to use the recreation area, as we already paid a resort fee. The pool and hot tubs were listed as an amenity but there was no mention of an additional fee. Otherwise, I would consider returning to the resort. The property was lovely and overall clean and comfortable.

So I booked the property because of the activities for the family and did not realize until we arrived that EVERYTHING was closed! It was literally a ghosttown. The property was nice (a few upgrades needed), the elevator was broken half our trip so be prepared to walk up a lot of stairs, but overall the stay wasn't terrible I just wish I would've been informed during booking that all activites would be closed. The rec center was open which has a pool to swim for $10 per person.

It’s really nice to stay so close to the Village. The pool is convenient and clean. The arcade games are HORRIBLE overpriced. The food options are great and we loved Rubicon pizza and pasta.

About 30 minutes before our check in time, I received an email with check in instructions. On the email, it also mentioned for use of amenities, there’s an extra charge of $10 per person, per day. This includes pool area and gym. When I was looking for a hotel, the description said it had a pool and gym, but didn’t mention we’d have to pay an extra fee, so that was a disappointment already. We get to our room and we unpack all of our belongings, including our groceries we just purchased only to notice the unit doesn’t have an AC, the huge sliding door in the living room didn’t have a curtain, and also didn’t lock, and the dryer wasn’t working. Which being in Tahoe, we need a dryer due to being at the lake daily. We called the front office and said they would be able to assist us in the morning. They offered us two units to look at, which one didn’t have AC and it smelled horrible. The one we chose, still didn’t have AC, but there was a curtain and doors locked at least. We had to re-pack from the night before and move to the new unit. The next day, we noticed the fridge wasn’t working which caused our food to go bad and had to buy more daily. The overall resort area is not kept up and it looks almost abandoned. We were very unsatisfied with our stay here and spent a lot of money due to groceries having to be thrown out. The description says the amenities are included, and they aren’t. It also says they have AC, which the units don’t. We will never stay here again.

A very nice,, well equipped property. Nice fireplace (did not use fo a summertime trip,, but would be nice for a.winter ski visit.) Nice facilities, pools, hot tubs, games rooms. Good restaurants. Quiet, and also music by the skate rink in the village during the day..

Check in personnel was kind and friendly. Since it's their slow season no one was really there to keep things in order. No one vacuumed or took care of the common hallways. There was a half eaten granola bar that was there from Friday-Sunday. I finally just picked it up and threw it away. Carpets were tearing and stained. I would go with vinyl flooring to help with wear and tear- especially for snow season. Location was great and Inclined Burger and Rubicon had great food. Wish we didn't have to pay $10 per person per day for the fitness/ community center.

While clean and functional, this unit needed an update. The paint was peeling, light bulbs needed replacing, rug needed to be secured so that risk of tripping was reduced etc. Wooden decking around complex needed maintenance. Ice machine door was locked and unavailable. Coffee filters didn't fit the coffee machine in room.

We’ve never had huge issues with anywhere we’ve stayed in Tahoe, but we stayed at 3114 Aspen & it was very dirty- spiderwebs everywhere, thick layer of dust on everything, clumps of hair stuck to toilet, carpets/floor were gross, old napkins in the couch, patio was not usable as there was a huge tarp with logs in the corner (we stayed in summer) to name a few things. It was very outdated with a dirty, hard couch that no one wanted to sit on. We looked at all the 2 bed/2 bath condos & none of the pictures were of the condo we stayed at. It was so bad that we requested to be moved- they were able to do this, but unfortunately while the new place was in better shape, we could not get it to cool down & ended up leaving late at night before our check out time the next day as all the kids were so uncomfortable they couldn’t go to sleep. The details on Expedia were pretty misleading. We thought the condo was at the village, but both condos were a few minutes away- not a huge deal, but annoying when we thought it was right there. We also did not know the units did not have AC until after we booked the non-refundable room & the resort emailed us frequently asked questions. We did pay a resort fee, but to access any of the facilities (pickleball/tennis courts, pool, hot tub, game room, etc) you also had to pay a $10 per person/per day fee-not sure what the report fee paid for. The staff were very nice & helpful in changing our condo, but we will not stay at this resort again.

This stay was the biggest waste of money. The room was awful, the bed was SO uncomfortable, the walls were paper thin and could hear everything happening outside and above us. The cleaning people stole some of our food, the cleanliness of the room was subpar at best. My suggestion is do not waste your money, stay somewhere else!

We have been visiting North Star resort for almost 14 years. It used to be a very upscale resort. This past week we went for a three night stay at one of the Resort managed properties. Expedia shows a balcony. There was not a balcony. the WIFI did not work and Resort said just connect to a different WIFI. All we got was slow or no WIFI. Two Burners on the stove did not work. The water heater either did not work or was very small. We could not take a shower longer than t0 minutest before the hot water ran out. The bed pillows were terrible. It was like no pillow and last thing the Expedia said the bed is a queen bed and I can not swear to it but I think it was a double. It was so uncomfortable. We booked three nights and we went home after two nights. We talked to the reservation desk and they kept saying it is Expedia problem. The desk clerk seemed to have found us another room. He went to ask his manager and came back and said not there was not any rooms available with a balcony.

The beds were absolutely horrible. We checked out a day early they were so bad. We tried to get an upgrade and pay extra but that didn’t really materialize. If I returned to timber creek lodge it would only be with the option to change rooms based on the condition of the beds.

The location was great. Close to Northstar Village with a short shuttle bus running regularly there. The full kitchen worked well. However our unit had old stained carpet. The lighting was very dim, with one lamp knob broken so you had to plug/unplug it to turn it on/off. The dryer vent wasn’t attached, and of course cold air would come through to chill the condo.

Access was difficult with several flights of stairs, Aspen 3162. TV wasn't working. Coffee maker was broken and light over the sink didn't work. Freestanding lamp socket was broker away from the base, but was able to reinstall so we could get it to work. We were not warned that heater was cast iron gas stove that made a terrible condition racket when warming up and cooling, unable to sleep. Asked front desk to get repairs done. Repairman showed up over an hour later not able to replace coffee maker or repair lights. As an independent consultant who audits commercial properties this was on of the worse hospitality units ever encountered. Don't know the condition of other units just this one. We will not return.

I recently stayed at North Star Resort, and my experience was deeply disappointing. From the moment I arrived, it was clear things were not as expected. The resort was surrounded by loud road construction, which made it difficult to get around and impossible to enjoy any peace. I had hoped for a quiet, relaxing escape, but instead, I was greeted by constant noise and disruption. When I entered the lodging building, the common areas were in disarray. The flooring had been ripped out, leaving nails and debris everywhere. It felt unsafe and far from welcoming. Worse, when I asked the staff at reception about it, they seemed just as surprised as I was. There was no communication or warning about this construction, which made the situation even more frustrating. In my studio, though the flooring was intact, construction materials were left under the furniture, making the room feel incomplete. It was far from the comfortable, relaxing space I had envisioned. The final blow came the next morning when workers began sanding walls and floors right outside my room, filling the air with dust. I suffered an intense allergic reaction that I’m still recovering from. Although I was eventually moved to another room, the damage was already done. I left North Star more stressed than when I arrived. The disorganization, lack of communication, and constant disruption made this an awful experience. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone seeking relaxation or comfort.

The photos on Expedia is very misleading. It made it seem like the condo was in the actual Northstar Village but instead it was a few minutes drive away. There was a shuttle but due to the storm that came in, it wasn't working fully. Thank goodness we were able to walk (20 min) back from the slopes to the condo. Another annoyance was that there was no shovel at the condo nor when I called the front desk to borrow one. The pathway and steps to the condo from the parking lot were to difficult trek through and our car was completely boxed in by the snowplowing machines. The property itself was well kept and clean though.

The website showed the property as a ski in and out on the mountain. I did not know we had to take the shuttle to the mountain. The booking also showed pool and hot tub but failed to say it costs$10 per person per day. Booking also failed to say there were no elevators and the unit is up 3 flights of stairs. Will not book through travelocity again. Very misleading

The area and resort are nice. Nothing spectacular. The 1 bedroom condo that we stayed in was quite comfortable but the finishes and furnishings were outdated and need updating. Location is convenient to downtown Truckee which is nice.

Initially got part of the information for the property, (door code) was not given the gate code. After we did get in and unpacked another renter opened the front door with the same door code, then the desk clerk told us they put us in the wrong unit and we had to move. Grossly uncoordinated and poor communication. Location is great, but of the three condos we were in over the week, they all showed their age. Loose toiltes, poorly attached shower heads, bricks missing or loose on the stairs to/from units. Every one had an ice maker, but none were hooked up. The only thing these units have going for them is location.

Not as advertised. I was expecting to stay at the condos that were depicted on the picture which overlook the Village with ice skating rink and shops and restaurants but was given a condo that was in a different corner of Northstar, not walking distance so we had to drive about 5 mins to get to the area where we expected to stay at. Other than that, the condo was as clean as it can be, the carpet was filthy dirty but everything else was relatively clean. My biggest disappointment was the false advisement of the location

Great space and restaurants at the location Staff called and setup entry via email, so we went straight to the room. No air conditioning but July and it was a nice temperature. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but not bad… tub stopper needed a scrubbing and ceiling fan vent had dust buildup.. 2 of 4 bulbs not working on bathroom… looked intentional which was a bit annoying when doing hair and makeup. The rest of the condo looked great. Would definitely go back
