La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Colorado Springs South AP

Breakfast was terrible, few choices and the eggs were so watery. Sausage patties had an odor to them. Elevator by the main desk could use a service. Our room keys stopped working twice and then the lock took a moment to react to the key card swipe. No toiletries in the bathroom (soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee, creamer packets). One of the beds in our room was not fully bedded with linen and super thin pillows. Evidence of water damage is showing around the tub and toilet areas of the wall. Only one staff member working the front desk during peak hours the entire stay. We were not granted an early check in or late checkout even though we had driven 16 hours. Super sub par experience. We won’t be booking here again for our future reoccurring trips to Colorado Springs.

Card reader doesn’t work on outside doors-I stayed at this property 6 months ago with the same problem. It is unsafe and incredibly inconvenient.

The property was advertised that it had a hot tub and whenI arrivedI was told there was no hot tub. A lot of things were out of order, including the elevator

Your beds are terribly uncomfortable… two nights sleeping on the mattress put my back into a world of hurt. Switched rooms and beds were lil better but the damage was done. Papers and such behind the dresser… went a whole day without hot water. My hair was so greasy, it was embarrassing being out and about. The pool was freezing and no lights at the pool to see in the dark. Very unsafe. Breakfast was nothing to brag about. We will definitely not stay there again.. very disappointed

Every staff member I engaged with very much did not want to do their job and made me feel like I was doing something wrong by requiring their attention for anything from checkin / out to alerting staff of broken door handles. The one treadmill in the “fitness center” was broken, the door handles are broken, overall not worth the price I paid per night :/

Check in was quick and easy. Once we got to the room, quickly realized how dated the hotel was. Everything was from the 80’s. Fridge was not plugged, microwave did not work, not enough plug in’s, lamps didn’t work. Went to the outside pool, and it is ice cold in July!! We saw guest after guest come and want to swim, and couldn’t because it was so cold! Being in Colorado it really needs to be heated or inside. Overall the hotel is very dated and ran down! Very disappointing.

Trash piled up at overflowing trash cans that were never emptied all three days we were there. Broken elevator for two days (not fixed by the time we left). Breakfast served 6-9am. By 8:15 on day 2 they were out of sausage (the only meat offered) and milk. By 8:15 on day 3 they were out of eggs, sausage (no other meat), milk, and plates. Lots of trash all three days. Very disappointing.

The room is spacious. The elevator is slow. The staff should iterate what was staples on the key card insert because we don’t read everything.

The pool was still closed and I wasn’t told until after I had already checked in. The tv in my room was broken and the floors were really gross. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was yummy

If I could rate a negative -10 I would this hotel was the worst place we’ve ever stayed at, We went to visit our daughter who is stationed at Fort Carson and had to stay the last 3 days with her because it was so disgusting and dirty. It states a smoke free hotel but the entire hotel reeked of smoke We’ve travelled all over the world and this place was by far the worst. The clerk that checked me out and yes I checked out early even though they had already charged my card for the majority of my stay when I checked in which was an extended stay, I will also be sending my complaints to the hotel directly. I don’t think the carpets have ever been they smelled and looked like they’ve been soiled. I wouldn’t recommend my anyone to stay there.

Awful! Walk into stained disgusting rugs, Bathroom door was visibly dirty & doesn't shut well or lock, Bathroom sink needs to be scrubbed, Light above mirror was broken and tapped together, also didn't work. Toilet handle is holding on for dear life. Sheets were stained. Tried to changed rooms but was told they were booked. Will NEVER stay again. When leaving we were asked how everything was. I said that well - we surprising slept well. The lady just laughed. Wasn’t worth anymore words.

The first room we checked into smelled horrible, even the whole hallway on the third floor smelled bad. The carpets in the rooms were heavily stained and the bathroom felt dirty. We asked for a room change and the front desk helped with that without issue. They gave us a room on the fifth floor. It smelled better, but the carpets were still pretty stained. There are signs that say the hotel is smoke free, but we saw cigarette butts in the elevator and it smelled like smoke. The pool had leaves in it that weren’t cleaned out. I guess you get what you pay for, but I’ve never stayed in a La Quinta that was so dirty.

Floors were filthy. Hallway in 6th floor smelled like cat pee. Breakfast was awful, not stocked well and out of everything.

Not a very good first impression, when arriving there was a planter that should have had flowers or something in it, but it was covered in cigarette butts.The room definitely needs a makeover, carpet was coming up, very, very slow, drain, there was some hair on the shower wall, which totally grossed me out. And the TV volume did not work, couldn’t change it up or down. It was just at one volume, which was on the low side.The air conditioner, which was very good ,noisy but good. We had to turn the air conditioner off to hear the TV. we brought our small dog with us. They had dog stations available, but there was no dog bags. Unfortunately, there are some bad dog owners out there that do not bring poop bags.

Absolutely insane how terrible it was. Filthy. Unhelpful. Trash all in the hallways and overflowing from each bin. Couldn’t get my room cleaned after asking for 5 nights. Found a booger on our fresh towels. Asked to borrow the vacuum and do it myself but was denied. Even found a piece of human scalp in my room! Still wouldn’t get cleaned or switched rooms.

This place was so disgusting. Carpets were stained bed skirts. I can't even tell you what was on them. Didn't notice them until the morning. OMG! Yes the rooms were cheap and I guess you get what you pay for. But there's no reason for a well-known name brand hotel to have their name associated with this kind of low quality.

The lobby is the most clean part of the property, when I got to the hallway outside of my room there were mountains of trash piled up next to the large full trash can.(I regret I didn’t take pictures) the room was ok, just ok. There was a deep depression in the worn out mattress which seemed to keep swallowing me during the night. There were pubic hairs in the shower I didn’t discover until the next morning. I went down for the breakfast which was included and was discouraged to find a few slices of bread to toast. The front desk clerk was standing in front of the toaster and she had a bagel she was fixing so I asked her if there were any more and she told me she had brought it from home. There were a few crumbles of scrambled eggs in a tray next to an empty tray I assumed once had sausage or bacon in. I moved on over to the waffle station which was filthy, it was covered in dried batter that looked to be at least days old. I gave up on eating anything and moved to coffee. There was one empty carafe and a full one of hot water. No coffee. I gave up and went to return to my room and waited a very long time for the elevator, when I asked the front desk if something was wrong with the elevator I was told it works on and off! I walked up 6 stories back to my room! Awful …stay away!

This was the dirtiest room we have ever been in. The carpet was filthy, bathroom dirty, couch was stained, walls were stained. The pool was outside and that is why I gave it 2 stars.

Shower had very little water pressure. Bed was not comfortable. Refrigerator kept freezing everything we put in it (even after we turned it down)

Old, needs a major upgrade, rooms smelled musky, door

The location was convinient to a lot of restaurants and a huge movie theater, but it was loud from the busy street. Our room had stained carpet and the bathroom doors were broken (missing a door knob and broken latch) and the floors weren't very clean. The mattress was very soft and definitely well used so it was not comfortable. The breakfast consisted of eggs, sausage, bagels and toast. Not much. Also the available items in the shop were very minimal. It was definitely on par for a $60/night room.

Rooms are good but very noisy from adjacent highway

Upside: Hotel staff are very nice. Location is great. Low priced. Nice size room. Bed pretty good. Shower has great water pressure. Downside: no luggage rack in room, no toiletries except a tiny bar of soap and tiny bottle of shampoo, furniture pretty run down, carpet dingy, breakfast just so so. Dog in room next door barked constantly as it was left by itself.

My door didn’t close all the way unless I slammed it. But it could still be pushed open enough that a person could see in without opening the door. The floor was so gross my socks were black just walking from the bathroom to bed. Breakfast was fine. Would not stay again. I’m usually fine with La Quinta hotels but this was disappointing

The room was clean and comfortable enough and the value was exceptional. Breakfast was very good. However the keys did not work well making it an adventure each time we tried to get into the room. Even switching keys for the 2nd night didn't solve the problem. In addition, there was NO TV remote in the room. We called the front desk to rectify it. The attendant said she'd have to go to another room to get one. None came. In reaching back out, she said she couldn't leave the front desk and nobody else was around. We did not have TV access, therefore, throughout our stay, and the lack of service in solving the problem was disturbing.

Dated furnishings and building. Poor maintenence. Doors have a sign telling you to pull up or down after inserting key card. Have maintenance install the handles correctly. Had to change room and in the 2nd room it was a very small tv

Appliances and elevators were old and did not work well. Maintenace was done poorly and made the hotel appear cheap. Also, I wish they would have advertised the strict no vaping policy when I booked- I would have booked at a hotel that had a balcony.

We had our room robbed within two hours of getting there. Manager at front desk was horrible and the rudest I have even experienced. She lied to other customers who had stuff missing as well and changed from no housekeeping enters a room to oh it must be with housekeeping. Some keyed them a key to our room. Additional customers told us they were allowing access to the stairwell by non guests. Police report filed. She refused a refund and refused to call her boss or give me her name. Unbelievable. Never stay here

Stephanie and Erin are the absolute BEST! I can’t even begin to describe their kindness, both went above and beyond!

There was never enough food prepared AND ready to refill at any given day. We were also charged f..r Benjamin’s for a bogus smoking charge when no one in my family smokes anything, no vapes, nothing! Hotel trusted more in their faulty system than to hear anything we had to say or ask. Staff was completely hateful…namely Josephine Heger (Assist. Gen. Mgr.) and pee-on Heather. They also said corporate applied the charge when Customer Care line called her a liar when I spoke to them and staff at the same time. The hotel charged the fee and could remove it but refused. I recorded every conversation that took place to prove we tried to abate the issue to no avail on their end. According to web searches, LaQuinta and Wyndham hotels are notorious for charging bogus “smoking” fees to guests, especially those who are definitely non-smokers like us. We also had the Do Not Disturb sign on our door the entire time we were there and they entered the room twice without knowledge or permission!

I arrived at the hotel by 6pm and I was told that my room was not ready. I made a comment that check in time was 3pm and I was told 3pm is not guaranteed and if I wanted to, I could cancel my reservation (totally unacceptable). Finally at 7:40pm I was able to check in. Also I was not happy that my check in deposit was $150. I am very disappointed and in the future will think twice before booking your hotel. I feel the lack of communication by the staff couldve been much better. If I had been given a courtesy call to let me know that a room was not ready, I wouldve made other plans until checkin time.

It looks like the hotel is under staffed. Check-ins looked delayed, complimentary breakfast needed attention, the grounds looked like it needed attention. The homeless population is an issue not only for hotel but all of the city.

There was a deep depression in the worn out mattress which seemed to keep swallowing me during the night. There were pubic hairs in the shower I didn’t discover until the next morning. I went down for the breakfast which was included and was discouraged to find a few slices of bread to toast. The front desk clerk was standing in front of the toaster and she had a bagel she was fixing so I asked her if there were any more and she told me she had brought it from home. There were a few crumbles of scrambled eggs in a tray next to an empty tray I assumed once had sausage or bacon in. I moved on over to the waffle station which was filthy, it was covered in dried batter that looked to be at least days old. I gave up on eating anything and moved to coffee. There was one empty carafe and a full one of hot water. No coffee. I gave up and went to return to my room and waited a very long time for the elevator, when I asked the front desk if something was wrong with the elevator I was told it works on and off! I walked up 6 stories back to my room! Awful …stay away!

Oh man. This was a mess. We've stayed before with great service and breakfast, but this time, nothing seemed to be taken care of at all! I was told by the staff that they'd recently been bought out, and I think they all just stopped working in protest or something. Everything was dirty-- hallways not vacuumed and covered in white dust that looked like plaster, the main floor ladies' room hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Nothing was refilled -- towels, soap, water in the lobby (since the water fountains were out of order too), coffee machine, light bulbs, the whole breakfast setup -- all needed changed or were empty, and were not refilled even after asking. The kicker was when our keys stopped working after we got in late (9 pm) on our second night. After one try with the master key, we were told they just couldn't open it and there no way to get into our room! We just got a ballad of why she had "absolutely no way" to open the door. A lot of pushing on our part led to a second employee trying her hand, and putting much more effort into the process. At least she understood that, "too bad" wasn't going to be an acceptable solution with our clothes, medication, etc trapped in the room. She called someone (a manager I suppose) and there was a device that could open it all along! Thank God that young lady didn't give up as easily and we were able to get into our room. She gets the only deserving stars. We'll be choosing a different one next year. What a shame.

we had some bumps checking in. They charged a 150.00 deposit regardless of debit or credit card that I was not expecting to have to pay so had to do some scrambling to figure that out so I wish that had been made clear when i booked. The. the a/c was not working when we got to our room and it was 96 degrees out so upon going down to talk to someone about that, the guy at the front desk when we checked in did not seem very interested in helping do anything about that. The a/c did finally kick in about 3 am, it didn’t run the greatest but it at least cooled the room down enough it was tolerable. All that being said the lady who checked us out I felt went above and beyond so she made up for the first guy. Still waiting for the deposit to come back, hoping the delay is just because it’s a weekend.

Great extended stay. Very friendly staff. Great location to lots of attractions. Clean and comfortable.

Three cars had windows busted out in hotel parking lot overnight. Hotel has security that doesn't patrol parking lot and they have no cameras

Amazing staff, comfortable and plenty of food options nearby. They do need to service their dryer, it doesnt dry a sock. Overall will stay again.

This part of town is really run down and filled with homeless, and sketchy people.

Not the cleanest. Almost nothing was available at breakfast when we went at 7:15. I suspect the breakfast person arrived late and the hotel was fully booked.

I won’t be staying here again ! Check in is at 3 well at 530 still nothing with excuses cause short staffed when asked for manager one isn’t available at that time room never got refreshed we asked for towels daily cause not even that was restocked at a 5 night stay .. breakfast is supposed to start at six at seven. It was finally getting put out you got boiled eggs, and Cold sausage, frozen yogurt and lines that never stopped. The waffle machine was set too high, so it made them extra crunchy. I have stayed at many La Quinta and this one was embarrassing. Lesson learned and I picked the meteor. I didn’t go for the cheapest or the most expensive I learned my lesson, it could use an update because it smelled really bad. It had an odor. Also the pool is open till 10 but the lights cut off and there is absolutely no lights. The side door doesn’t allow your key to work. It needs fixed, overall, we weren’t in the room very much but I wish I would’ve got a refund so I could’ve gone somewhere else
