My rental car got 4 tires stolen. Pool is closed, gym us closed and restaurant is also closed and hotel post does mot mention issues

Un anounced costruction during our whole stay. Dirty filthy mess. Elevators quit working several times. Key cards quit every day. Room not as pictured. Pool hasnt worked for years. Parking lot full of drug addicts from the cannibus store next door. Staff was awful. Worst hotel of my life.

(1) We paid full price, but the hotel was under major construction - a mess. (2) We arrived early and asked to check our bags until check in. They were unable to do that, and we had to go to our activities for the day with all of our luggage. (3) When we went out to dinner, the elevators were broken. We had to climb down from the 7th floor and were late for dinner.

Ekevators weren't working, had to call front desk to send someone. Pool was closed and there was a lot of unfinished construction. My room had no microwave nor refrigerator and the TV was only analog or HDMI. There was one dim sconce by the door and the bedside table lamp didn't work. Corners and edges of room and bathroom had dirt/dust accumulation. Staff and other guests seemed sketchy, especially at late hours. Had to walk to nearby gas station to get a snack. There was loud partying, and the 5th floor smelled like week-old farts.

Staff was nice, but the entire first floor was under construction. No Restaurant or bar. Very loud and dusty. Floor dirty Bedrooms beds good, but room in bad condition

My car was towed two days In a row and had to pay $157 twice. All I spite is me having a parking permit. It’s almost a scam there.

I totally understand (and support) downtown hotels charging for parking, but this place is an industrial park directly next to the highway. Do you really need to charge $4 to leave my car outside?

We needed a quick room for the night, said there was a pool...no pool. Property under construction. No cots available. Bathroom was dirty & definitely in need of maintenance.

Elevator went out of order during midnight. It was still not working up until the morning. Breakfast was very limited in hotel is under renovation or under construction and there’s a lot of dust everywhere and dirt.

There were renovations being done. The elevators were not working. We missed our event due to the elevators being broken. What if there was a fire? How would we have made it to the 1st floor from the 3rd? Very upsetting! Had to carry all our luggages 3 flights of stairs!

Tried 3 rooms. First 2 were non smoking but smelled so much like smoke you could taste it. 3rd room smelled fine and seemed clean until a mattress check. It had bed bugs. We left and spent the $40 extra to stay next door

The hotel was under renovation and dirty. Smells like smoke. No staff present and no desirable breakfast choices. Queen bed small and uncomfortable.

Did not like a thing about this property. Our room was so run down unclean unsanitary there was mold in the bathroom around the tile at the tub ceiling paint was peeling off the curtains were hanging loose

Hotel is disgusting! Do not stay here. Everything is dirty, even a condowm was found under the bed.

This is the single most disgusting hotel we have ever seen!! The whole place is a terrifying mess, the room looked like a murder scene. The couch had wire hangers stuck in it, and looked as if they just picked it up off the street. The tub was filthy and falling apart. The walls were scratched up and the furniture too, the floors had not been cleaned in a while. We walked in the room and looked around took pictures and promptly left. I would not recommend this place at all!!

The hotel is dirty, the room smelled, the couch was full of dirt stains that it had to be covered with a blanket to be able to sit on it. There were no mirrors in the room, the bathroom was nasty, I’ll never stay there again or any other La Quinta!

Very cool room on the corner with great views of the ocean and New Haven! Very nice staff! The hotel is close to everything in New Haven as well as being right off the highway.

This hotel was not good. The lobby was under renovation so everything was a hot mess from the start. The lady at the check in table did not really speak. It was quite awkward. The whole place really needs to be renovated because everything looked old and crusty. In the room, there was a couch that was dirty and had a hole in the middle where the springs were caving in. The bed had a noticeable dent/dip in the mattress and was essentially concave. The air wall unit was clearly broken or something because when it came on every 10 minutes it had a high pitch squeal. I paid extra for water view but very much regret it because the highway is in front of the water. Between the highway noise and the dang high pitch squeak from the air unit, I hardly slept at all. The bathroom was old and janky but honestly the nicest part of the room. I even got a slight workout squatting down on the tiny low toilet. Thank god I only had to stay here one night because even at check out there was some crazy guy flipping out screaming and making threats and the police had to come. That was scary. Honestly the whole thing was a nightmare. 0/10 do not recommend.

Average cleanliness and staff was nice enough. However, renovations go late and are loud and the lobby is a mess. No fridge or microwave in rooms. Tv repeatedly froze before resuming working. All night long noise of music/cars/bikes causing disturbance of sleep into the early am. Elevator broke and key cards stopped working multiple times. Dog friendly for $25 extra per night per pet but they dont have anything set up for them, just the grass next to the parking lot. One perk is the 15 minute walk to the little Italy neighborhood with the famous pizza but route covered in trash/glass. Have always stayed in budget motels/hotels with expectations to match but this was one of the worst experiences. Would not recommend or return.

The view of the ocean from the right room is great. The furniture, however, looks like it's been neglected for a decade. There is quite a bit of noise coming from around the area as well.

The mattress is too soft which makes my back pain worse.

On the positive side, we appreciate the new mattress, new and clean sheets, and towels. That was really nice. On the other hand, the location is next to a busy highway and the windows are not sound proofed at all. It was clear that there were new updates and repairs. However, it appears that it was a property with lots of damages from the past. Elevator lights not working, and odd damages makes us wonder what happend in the past and does not feel safe and assuring. We ordered a suite and recelived a room with a dirty sofa with many stains. The furnitures were miss matched as well. For over $200/night, I think this location needs to bring more value to its customers.

One elevator in operation (fits 5 maybe) is manned by an operator and you must call the front desk to request an elevator to your floor to exit (10 minute wait 1st time). The rooms are dilapidated, many electrical outlets did not work, wifi was nonexistent (had to use personal phone as hot spot), bathroom amenities were a sample size bar of Dove soap with Dove shampoo and conditioner (trial size containers). Window darkening shade was torn and shoddy. Furniture was badly worn and very dated. Room void or carpeting, exposed breaker panel in wall.

Overpriced. Bare room with no amemities. No fridge, microwave, ice. Bed was rickety. Coffee not available until 7 am breakfast.

Hotel has undergone extensive renovations, new pergo floors in the rooms, bathroom was really nice, new carpeting in the hallways. They just need to replace the furnishings in the rooms. Lamps were rusty at the base, metal bed frame squeaked and the mattress was sad. Nice on the eyes, but if you are looking for a good nights sleep, you might wanna lock elsewhere. Plus it’s close to train station, heard train whistles all night long.

Front desk you g man (Mark) was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Elevators were not always running. The microwave in rooms made a noise that sounded like it was going to explode in all of three rooms I paid for.

For the price, it was a great place to stay. The lobby under construction, and it was a bit noisy, but the room was nice and the hotel staff were very pleasant.

BEWARE: Ongoing Construction, Poor Service, and Rude Staff (Stay: August 1–3) I stayed at this hotel from August 1st to 3rd, and I want to strongly warn anyone planning a stay here—avoid it if you can. The hotel is currently undergoing major renovations, particularly in the main hall. There was construction everywhere, with plastic sheets hanging all over, dust in the air and covering surfaces—including the small dining area. It was hard to breathe comfortably, let alone enjoy a meal. The breakfast area had limited seating, and the food selection was very poor. Overall, the environment felt chaotic and neglected. What made the experience even worse was the unprofessional behavior of the front desk staff. A receptionist who introduced himself as Mark (I’m not sure if that’s even his real name) was watching soccer on his phone while answering questions about check-in and check-out. When I politely repeated a question to clarify, he got visibly irritated, called me an idiot, and when I asked him to calm down, he threatened to call the police to have me removed from the hotel. I was absolutely stunned. This was a deeply unpleasant experience, both in terms of the physical condition of the hotel and the staff’s behavior. I strongly advise not booking a stay at this hotel until renovations are complete and serious improvements are made to staff professionalism. Photos attached.

They didnt clean my room. When I asked the cleaning lady (Eva according to a note) started excusing herself that if we dont leave the room before 11:00 she didnt clean it (we left room at 10:45) the she implied that if we leave stuff in beds she wont make them (which obviously we didnt). Very rude

The receptionist on duty couldn’t be more unhelpful and rude if he wanted to try. Checked out after 2 nights stay at 10am and wanted to leave my suitcase there for a few hours at reception/storage as my airport shuttle wasn’t coming until 2pm. He said that they don’t offer anything like that. Have stayed in all types of hotels around the world and first time that something as basic as that was denied. So unhelpful and rude. Room was basic and did the job but will never stay at this chain again out of principle. Terrible service.

I was not really satisfied that weekend. I stayed at that hotel because my car got towed the very next day and I wasn’t told about the parking situation there.. I got there exhausted and the lady there was working kind of fast so she just gave me my room key and asked for my ID but did not mention how the parking process works and she didn’t even offer to call my room to ask if I gotten a parking permit for my vehicle and for that reason, my vehicle ended up getting towed the very next day and I had to spend all the money I had for that weekend to get my vehicle out and it was $210. My experience was ruined and I went out there to enjoy New Haven and I couldn’t even do that because of the fact that my car got towed and I lost the money I brought for that weekend.. I don’t ever wanna go back there again because it’s just the fact that I was not notified of how the parking works and the lady at the front desk did not mention it to me at all. She didn’t even bother to try to call my room to ask if she’s giving me a parking permit for my vehicle but like I said because of that, I lost my car the next day and I had to take a Uber all the way up there to get it back. I don’t know why the person at the front desk didn’t notify me about the parking even if there was signs aroun I was exhausted and it was late. I just wanted to go up to my room and rest. They said they couldn’t do anything about it and it really hurt me because I lost the money I brought for that trip. No compensation

While not very convenient for someone without a car, this hotel is very well managed and comfortable, with a view of the Connecticut River across I-95. Alicia at the front desk was unfailingly welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful, and she increased the quality of my stay enormously.

I was taking my daughter to Yale for a summer program and I booked the hotel online for one night. I am very pleased to find out that it's a very clean hotel. All essentials are available in the bathroom. Toilet seat needs a little improvement. The breakfast is also good. Overall we are satisfied customers and it will definitely be our choice if we visit New Haven again.

Its not bad. My room wasn't dirty. The staff were fine. The location is great for any traveler. And the price was right!. I could walk to premium restaurants. I could view the long Island sound. Dunkin and a dispensary across the lot. I'll be back!

I stayed overnight on a long trip back home. It was a simple check in and my dog was very welcome. The room was basic with supplies and towels available. There was an Italian restaurant next door across the parking lot that was very good.

We were just at this hotel for a quick overnight before flying out of New Haven Tweed. It was clean though the bathroom was quite dated. There was a lot of noise from the highway, which made it difficult to sleep at various points during the night. There was also somebody parked outside from about 2 to 4 AM blaring loud music. It has outstanding proximity to the airport and other local attractions but next time I would request a room in the back of the hotel.

Tired and old, formerly a Howard Johnson’s. The highway traffic is loud the parking lot and surroundings did not feel particularly safe. Linens and towels seemed fresh but the mattress felt as old as the motel is. I would give it less stars but at least they had a room for me and were polite. But honestly not for grown ups.

Check in easy! Location directly facing large highway however sound not an issue. Lobby under renovation but not an issue to access. Couch in room stale and musty. Beds clean and comfy. Bathroom needs attention to tiles and floor for repair but very clean otherwise. Great Italian restaurant in adjacent parking lot. Industrial area, so not inclined to walk around. Quick access to and from exit at highway. Faces ocean inlet but not accesdible by walking as crossing major roadway. Accessible by car.

This hotel doubles as a quasi long term stay for homeless or rehab individuals. It is being renovated in an unskilled manner, it is unclear whether it is or is not a LaQuinta, it is next door to a cannabis dispensary, and it does not feel like a safe or managed hotel. I would never consider staying here again.

While the hotel provides a hot breakfast from 7–10 AM and parking, the elevator system is completely unacceptable and a major safety hazard. In order to use the elevator, guests are required to call the front desk to have it sent to their floor. This is an outdated and highly inconvenient system, especially when no one is available at the reception desk or answers the phone. My family experienced this firsthand. They were stuck waiting for the elevator while no one at the front desk responded to multiple calls. With no one present at the reception and no other way to access the elevator, my family was forced to carry their luggage down six flights of stairs. This is not a minor inconvenience — it’s a serious safety risk. In the event of an emergency, guests could be left without a reliable way to exit the building. This process is completely unacceptable, and hotel management must address this immediately for the safety, accessibility, and basic comfort of their guests.

The property is under construction and they offer a breakfast, but they don’t provide one when we win for breakfast. They told us that the lady who is in charge for breakfast, she did not show up so we left and we went outside the hotel when we ask for the refund for the breakfast the hotel deny it

Entry is torn up with construction. Walls extremely thin!! Kids coming and going continually next door in loud cars with REALLY LOUD music from ~10p. Earplugs + pillow over head + fan on full blast barely took the edge off. At 2:30am called front desk and they said call the police. I did and problem resolved quickly. Big positive: Loud frightening argument between a guest couple in am. Seemed like it might become violent. Requested security arrived rapidly and got them to leave. Free breakfast had wider than usual choices including 3 hot options. leave.

This Hotel was okay, but they are remodeling, so lobby area was a bit dirty. Hotel was fairly clean someone must of used the bathroom after it had been cleaned because found a used wash cloth and toilet paper in trash can. Also the outlet in bathroom didn’t work which was not great, especially since the only mirror was there too. Just didn’t feel the room was worth the money. Not horrible but wouldn’t stay again.

Horrible experience lobby under construction, continental breakfast was served on tables were the rug underground was being changed but very dirty. My lampshade has holes in it and the bed was squeaky and very uncomfortable why would the Wyndham brand associate itself with this hotel, they lost all my respect. The only good thing was the staff was very friendly.
