Baymont by Wyndham Dubuque

convieniant location. Room was dirty. smelled bad. screen was off a window, drafty, bath faucet sprayed water all over. no maid service the whole time there. bar was shut down for remodeling, no remodeling going on. pool had cold water. could not swim at all. Will NOT book again at a Baymont

Pool was out of service, desk help was not helpful. Hotel is in need of some renovation.

This was an overly priced hotel and I would not recommend for groups. The rooms & amenities were dated. There was no place for our group to gather. It seemed like this hotel is more utilized for long-term stays or residences. The facility is in disrepair- large, unsafe holes and cracks in the parking lot, torn carpet and broken tiles indoors, room doors don't latch all the way, exit doors don't latch. Would not recommend.

Worst thing was no elevator to the second floor so a little hard for 4 elderly ladies to get luggage up a flight of stair to our room.

Overpriced for a place needing so much maintenance. Phone in room didn't work, half the lights didn't work and most had no cover so you could look into ceiling to see the wiring, sink was tiny and had a crack in the basin, holes in walls that were covered with painters' tape, very limited outlets, smokefree property but we could smell smoke in hallways, and the smoke area was outside our AC unit being sucked into our room. Parking and sidewalks are tripping hazards with huge cracks; we had 2 kids trip and fall. Entryways are not secure; anyone can enter the hallways at any time. The sitting area for a room that sleeps 6 people only has 1 chair and one small desk. Curtains had holes in them.

room keys consistently and with multiple replacements, didn't work. And it was not due to storing cards near a cell phone. Keys the front desk put in our hands didn't work with up to 3 trips to the front desk per occurance

Stains all over room, curtains tore, molding falling off window, most of electrical sockets didn't work, breakfast was a joke pool not functional

Property was poorly kept. Definitely an aged property. Room smelled of smoke. Parking lot had a sinkhole abd concrete was extremely uneven. My daughter tripped over a piece when we were leaving and luckily i caught her.

Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Beyond that, the key system to access the room was terrible (we were warned). Though everything was is working order, the room's furniture is due for a refresh. The breakfast was the typical basic cold food options (plus waffles) with mediocre coffee. We passed on the food and went to Perkins.

Hotel needs a remodel(OLD).Door looked like someone tried to pry it open. Room was not very clean, there were cobwebs in all four corners of the room and in the bath room. I was very disappointed with the stay over all.

Didn’t feel safe, wasn’t clean. Many people in and out. Smelled like “weed” in a smoke free hotel. Doors that are supposed to be exit only weren’t locked so people were free to come and go as they pleased. Won’t be staying again.

Checking in was okay, but thing went downhill from there. After checking in we noticed that the side door to the building had key card access, but it was broken so it provided no security at all. Additionally, the security chain/lever for the door in our room was broken off. We slept with a chair against the door. Unfortunately, this did not keep all visitors away as we woke up in the early morning and felt something crawl across our faces, but thought it was just a fly. We found a roach crawling across the bed and killed it. We were booked for 5 days so we went to the front desk told them we were checking out and asked for a refund for the rest of our stay. They said that since we had booked through a third party we would have to go through them. Expedia contacted the motel twice trying to get a refund from the motel and were not successful. We did book it knowing that there was no refund for cancellation, but we cancelled the rest of our stay because the motel was not clean and safe and because of that we should have gotten a refund. I would not recommend staying at this Baymont Inn and I personally will never stay at another Baymont.

Hotel was dirty and falling apart. Our room was on the 2nd floor and there was no elevator. Front desk staff didn't bother to let us know in advance and as a family of 5 we had a lot of baggage. Ice maker was broken. The carpet in our room was covered with stains and I found a toenail. The bed was okay, but the pillows were very lumpy. Shower was hot but not much pressure. Breakfast was very underwhelming. Hallways smelled like they were fabreezed to cover something. We would not stay here again.

Floor was filthy, shower was full of hair, some of the towels were still dirty, TV was broken- couldn't change channels & volume was very low even on highest setting, no elevator so had to drag luggage up/down steps, room was stuffy/hot & not enough airflow, bathroom fan broken or nonexistent, doors slammed shut, noisy

Carpet on hallways smell kind of bad, old, same thing in the room, as soon as you open door, you can smell something weird. People smoking weed right outside the back door and smell would go inside the hallways. Breakfast is only bagels, loaf bread, mix to make waffles, juice and cofre.

When we entered our room, it smelled very bad. Very musty and damp feeling on rugs and bed linens.

Easy access to location, very dated furnishings. The bed in our room was so worn out, it had very deep dents in both sides, flat pillows, overall not a comfortable bed/bedding.

Property was a little run down. Nothing that a coat of paint and some maintenance couldn't fix. Pool was clean, just very beat up. Front desk was not the most pleasant person. She was rude and seemed bothered every time we needed something. We loved our room, studio with 2 queens and bunk beds. It was huge, beds were comfortable, and it was clean and well kept.

Our room was fine. Beds were very comfortable. The person who checked us in was short and snappy when I asked why website doesn’t notify you of an “incidental” charge which apparently is a virtual charge just verifying your card. When she replied she spoke to me as if I was a child annoying her. It was a one night stay and fit our basic needs of sleeping-resting at a 1/2way point of our trip.

Breakfast was good. Love Five hygiene products.No elevator very difficult for 2 seniors to climb stairs with stuff to stay.. Did not have 2 bedside lamp/light or plug in on both sides of the bed. Had to plug in phone and hear ing aid charger on desk which was across the room #231.

The room 127 was comfortable but somewhat noisy because of the traffic noise outside. Great sauna room was a real treat. Big compliment on the quality and selection of foods for breakfast.

Entering the room, stain on floor inside the door, not big, but there none the less. The light inside door, over luggage rack/hanger area had burnt out bulb. Weather was nice, but screen was torn, so couldn't open window. In the morning, leaned against toilet tank, it shifted, leaked on floor. I realigned and put towel behind it to hold it in place. Told the desk attendant, she thanked me for informing her, asked if it needed maintenance. It was a comfortable enough room, just needed that extra attention. Also, t.v. remote was very temperamental. Gym could have used some instructions about the equipment and some heat.

Unable to check in due to computer issues; employee was nowhere to be found with several people waiting at front desk. Had to call from lobby to get someone to respond. I had to secure another room which was a blessing in disguise as the hotel is very run down & didn't appear very clean or maintained.

My room was clean, but there was no bar of soap - I had to use shampoo for bathing my first morning there. When I asked about it, they said their shipment hadn't come. I asked about getting another shampoo and was then given a bar of soap (they had purchased some, but hadn't put any in the rooms). The sign/tag hanging in the bathroom stated to hang towels to re-use them and leave any on the floor for replacement, which I did, but there was NO housekeeping/replnishment done during my entire five-night stay. After the first day of no service, I asked about why no one had replaced the towels. I was told that they don't service rooms that have a multi-day stay and that I was supposed to leave the towels outside my door if I wanted them replaced. Also, I had to get coffee from the housekeeper's cart since I needed more than two cups of coffee for my five-night stay. Soap, towels, supplies - all of these were details that they could have easily (1) told me when I checked in or (2) put a note in the room to let guests know. There were chips in the tile grout, a huge patched drywall area, the towels were thin, and one lamp didn't work at all.

It was definitely dirty. I wouldn't stay here again. I was also charged for my room when i booked, then they charged me again when I checked in. The woman that checked me in was rude, inattentive, and bad at her job. The woman i spoke with in the morning was very polite and helpful. You get what you pay for. This was a last minute stay for us since we were in town for a wedding. If you have options, stay elsewhere.

Kim the manager was rude and difficult. I was charged for an extra night even after I asked about my card being run for incidentals. Totally unprofessional.

We arrived at 2 to see if we could check in an hour early. There were 2 cars in the entire parking lot and the manager refused to allow. There had to be A single clean room an hour before check in with hardly anyone staying in the hotel. She didn't offer a reason and was crabby at being asked. I asked if she could tell me where our room would be and she said that she couldn't tell us that until 3:00. At breakfast the next morning, my kids were by the bread canister and she came over and slammed it shut telling them that it needs to start shut so flies didn't get in. We had to get our room transferred to another because the AC didn't work. This too was met with hostility and a bad overall attitude that seems to be just par for the course at this hotel. I have stayed at other baymonts and have never had issues like this. Would not stay in dubuque again and should have been refunded partially since we were in a room with no air for 2-3 hours on an extremely hot day. These things should be checked into prior to check in. Room 224 probably still has issues because I'm sure the manager doesn't care. Hire someone that likes people.

No service for trash, cleaning, or anything that we didn’t do ourselves. Told that they don’t pay well and can’t get help. We were there for 4 days.

Kim at the front desk was wonderful! She gave us food and activity ideas. We will be coming back and will be staying there again!

Baymont has definitely left their properties get run down. They are not as nice as they used to be. The entire time we stayed there the entire place smelled like marijuana. Employees were going out back Propping open a secure door and smoking weed throughout the day And at one point multiple maids And male maintenance employees were out back in the same area smoking and drinking alcohol during the day. Also, this location is still working under covid protocol. Staff does not clean your rooms or bring you new towels. I gave my towels to the maid as we were leaving to go to our baseball game Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. and ask them to put four new towels in our bathroom. When we returned from our activities later that night around 9:00 p.m. We still had no towels. I went to the desk acquired and she said the laundry was still dirty and they had no clean towels. Saturday morning I went back down to the desk and inquired about towels again. I was questioned about why I didn't have towels. Finally got the manager to give me clean ones so me and my family could shower. Police department had been there multiple times. I inquired with one of the local officers about the marijuana use and they said it was illegal to be in possession by Iowa state law I know the management and employees heard me talking to the officer about it in the lobby.

Upon there was no one at the front desk. There was a note to call a red phone for help. Had to find the red phone and call for help and no one answered until the third try. Finally had a manager come to the front desk to let me know the system was done for checking in people and we would have to wait with no estimated time for check-in. I couldn't wait as we were trying to get dressed for a formal event. I gave my name for a refund which still has not processed yet . Other people came into the same experience with no one at the front desk to explain what's going on. There should of been a sign posted at the front desk to the issue, so people would of understood the delay and not go thru the red phone ordeal. We had to go elsewhere. The manager was polite but a better system could of been in place.

Quiet area , hotel had pool , free breakfast, could have had cleaner blankets had some blood drops and other stuff stuck on it. Rest was ok. decent place

The hotel is convenient to find and get to. In a nice area of town and lots of shopping and eating options nearby. The hotel itself is dated and not well maintained. Fans and a dehumidifier left in open doorways of rooms. Hot breakfast was a waste of time. There were 2 waffle makers on the counter wirh only one on (for a Sunday morning), stale cereal and not much for other options and room that breakfast is in was far from big enough for the amount of people. Staff at check in was ok, same staff running breakfast was crabby and short with guests.

The rooms were clean but you can tell that the building is older. The location is great -- close to lots of things in Dubuque! The staff was very friendly. I really enjoyed my stay. there was construction, so it was hard to find the way into the property. Also, the parking lot should be resurfaced. It's cracked and not in great condition.

Friendly Staff. Only bad thing is you had to make your own breakfast. You dispense batter into a cup then pour it into a waffle maker. Cereal was in containers you turn the dial to put in a bowl but it was stale.

Room was in good condition. The staff was courteous. Breakfast prep was below standard.

room did not have things in it that were listed on the site no hair dryer no whirlpool no phone in room we were told the phone was broke and there was never a whirlpool also was told there would be scramble eggs and sausage and biscuits and gravy there was not the 3 nights we were there they told us the warmer was broke these thing were things why we picked this place to stay what a disappointment not sure we will pick it again

Overall teh stay was a good experience. The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is the breakfast was disappointing. No protein options at all. Had waffles, biscuits and sausage gravy which were both good as well as cold cereal and breads. No eggs, meat yogurt or fruit was available on either day of our 2 day stay.
