This property was very nice, but the pool/hot tub was closed. We specifically booked here for those amenities for Christmas and we’re very disappointed. Would have cancelled and booked some place else but they don’t offer refunds.

We really enjoyed our stay. Easy access to the many businesses in and around the Jordan Creek Mall was great and the grounds are beautiful. Pool was far too chlorinated and our eyes and nose are still burning a day later.

The fire pit here was also very nice AND right next to a sweet little pond. I did not however like the pool and hot tub. They were very old and over chlorinated.

At check-in, the attendant sent us to the wrong tower. Not a huge deal, a bit inconvenient. But then, there were no towels for the pool, and the staff said they had zero towels to give out. It wasn't sold out so not sure what happened there. No apology, I believe I interrupted her movie on her phone. The hot tub was cold and murky, like it had not been cleaned recently. Someone had turned on the emergency shut off for the hot tub, so when we figured out how to get it going again the water was full of foam. Will not return.

We really enjoyed our stay this weekend at Residence by Marriott. The room was clean, spacious and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and recreation room as well as the firepit. The weather was nice so we walked around and we loved the area, right next to the mall and lots of restaurants. My family also enjoyed the breakfast, lots of options to choose from. Definitely recommend this place!

Big wet spot in the carpet right inside the door we noticed in the morning. Also the room stunk so bad like a musty and moldy smell. The whole room just looked dirty and not cleaned well. Also the bed was so uncomfortable, and I am not picky about a mattress but this one was lumpy.

The toilet had a ring around it upon our arrival. Opened the drapes and there I found spider webs. The room didn’t smell fresh & clean. The staff was nice & courteous, but the room could’ve been cleaner and smelled fresher.

The pull out sofa was extremely uncomfortable for our daughter, so she ended up sleeping on the slightly less uncomfortable couch. The pull out mattress was advertised in the room description to be a thick mattress and this did not turn out to be the case. It was thin and had no padding so the springs inside were quite sharp feeling. Not a good nights rest, for sure.

Overall, stay was ok. Just a few inconvenient things. Vanity sink drained extremely slow, plunger didn't work. Shower dripped 24/7, had to put a towel underneath to catch/quiet drips. Breakfast limited in items compared to recent stays elsewhere.

This hotel is conveniently located and I usually stay here for business. However during this stay, I had to ask to move rooms because the tv didn’t work in my original room. Not a big deal - happens. In the next room, one of the bedside lamps wouldn’t turn on, but then turned on by itself at 2am. There was no garbage can to be found in the entire room. At the continental breakfast there was no coffee in the pots, and no cranberry juice in the machine either. Not a bad hotel but probably won’t stay here anymore.

The property has very spacious rooms that are top notch! I was here for a work event for 3 days and it was perfect for my stay. Without walking distance to fine dining and also laid back bars. The best of all worlds surrounding the area. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back next work trip.

Let’s just say the pictures posted have to be from at least 10 years ago. We were greeted with very friendly staff probably the only positive about our stay first thing they said right off the bat was we are short staffed on housekeeping, and you could tell. The room wasn’t terribly dirty however, the carpet had tears in it, and the bathroom tile was all broken up. The bathtub didn’t look to be properly cleaned. There was something that appeared to have been spilled all over the bathroom cabinets but never was wiped up the worst part about it all was the bed was so hard and uncomfortable, the room was also so bright between the very light glow from the microwave, the bright glow from the hallway lights under the door, and the curtains didn’t want to close all the way so you got a bright light from the street light It was so hard to get to sleep . I definitely will not be staying at this hotel again. Sidenote, the breakfast is just as bad just because it’s free does not make up for how lacking it was.

Everything was good until my 3 year old son went to take a shower after swimming. On the way into the bathroom the carpet was peeling up and he cut his toe on the tack strip. It bleed for 15 minutes and was very painful for him. We had to go get a bandaid from the front desk and told them what had happened and they didn’t much care.

At check-in on Saturday we were told the AC was not working (summer in Iowa) and that maintenance was not available until Monday. We were also told this was the only room left - this room should have been blocked off as they sold it knowing about the issue. Very poor service.

We chose this property because it had a pool, was in a convenient location but also due to it's high ratings online. When we arrived, there was a sign that the pool was closed and when my daughter made a comment, before even saying hello, the front desk person said, well, we can cancel your reservation for you if you want. That wasn't exactly what we were needing to do when we had booked a suite to sleep 6 people and had driven from out of town. That was off putting. The outside patio was already closed at 6pm. The next morning, breakfast was really underwhelming. Nothing like that was indicated in the photos online. We probably won't stay at this Marriott location again unfortunately. Not worth the money paid.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and adequately stocked. We LOVED that the pool and hot tub are available for adults only from 10p-12p. The location is conveniently located to several restaurants, shopping and centrally located to the areas we were traveling. We travel to Des Moines often and will definitely be back.

Location was great (lots of restaurant options and close to highway). Breakfast options were typical - - nothing special - bagels, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, biscuit and sausage. Our room was on the first floor by the end-of-hallway door. Bad news is that the first floor hallway smells like chlorine due to the pool. Good news, we were far enough away from the main gathering spaces that it wasn't very noisy. Carpets in hallway are a bit worn but our room was nice and, most importantly, clean. Only complaint was that the bath gel dispenser in the shower didn't work and that the very large population of geese made it very unpleasant/difficult to take advantage of the walking paths.

The hotel is nice. It is right near a big mall and tons of places to eat. So it is very walkable. The pool and spa are nice. It is a ways from the city but that didn’t bother us. It is in a very clean area and the pond is nice to walk around also.

Everything was fantastic! If I had any complaints it would be that they put away too much chlorine in the pool. When you walk into the pool room your eyes burn really bad because it's in the air. I had numerous family come visit and say the same thing. And the scrambled eggs were quite rubbery. Clearly not real eggs. But still edible. Other than those two very small things we had a wonderful stay and we will be rebooking soon.
