Rodeway Inn Madison Heights - Detroit

I liked it overall, not too bad. Of course don't expect too much at this price either. Nice to just pull up to the room like a traditional motel.

We were shocked as soon as we entered the room, the carpet was very dirty and damp. Room was very smelly with cigarette to the degree that all our staff smelled awful. The building overall is old and the paper wall was detached and the bathroom has mildew. Cars park in front of each room as the rooms are all on street level so there is no quietness around. The sink faucet was malfunctioning and very little water was coming out of it. The breakfast is barely kids juice with snacks not a real breakfast. All in all I would never recommend this place.

There were ashes in the floor against the wall. The comforter was also dirty. The jacuzzi faucet was nearly falling off and the floor around the jacuzzi tub was very soft. The room smelled musty, too.

Not my idea of a clean or updated hotel, dilapidated inside and outside and overtaken by young children at the pool, not fun, not enjoyable

The Rodeway Inn is an awful hotel. The bathroom was not clean, bugs, spiderwebs, and roaches took over. The housekeeping staff came in long before checkout while we were at breakfast with our suitcases in the room and threw out items. This hotel should be closed down, renovated, and new staff hired.

Room had bugs in bathroom, filthy sheets, stains in walks, reeked of smoke, and a front door with a busted lock. Staff was kind and agreed to refund; booked another hotel.

The wifi and cable were great. The rooms are out dated, dirty towels and small. The wall are filthy. And the smell of mildew was horrible.

This is the worst place I've ever stayed. I had to clean my own bathroom and hot tub. I only stayed because I couldn't find another hotel last minute and I wasn't wasting my money. This place is terrible!!!!

Started with getting a key that wouldn’t open the room we were assigned, had to get a different room, then noticed the the carpeted floor wasn’t clean at all, also had a pair of someone’s dirty socks laying next to the refrigerator, horrible wouldn’t stay there again!!!!

The room had been picked up but was not actually clean. mouse droppings in the drawers as well as dust and debris. many of the fixtures were broken or in disrepair including the shower head. No stopper for the tub. No mini fridge or microwave.

We arrived kind of late in the day. We had attended a concert in another town and got this room as to not drive the 3 hours back home tired. When we arrived the man at the counter checked us in and gave me the keys to the room and explained where to find it. We got to the room and the keys didn’t want to open the door. After several tries they finally worked and once the door opened the room was dirty as it had not been cleaned after the previous guest. I went back to the desk and explained what happened and showed him pictures of the room I had taken. He seemed not to care and said he would just move me to a room “I would like more” he gave me new keys, did not tell me where to find the new room and sent me away. The new room was not much better but the beds seemed clean. Not being from the area, we had a little choice in if we stayed or left, unsure if we would find another room for the night. Plus it was already paid for and I couldn’t lose that money plus pay for a new room. Dirty worn carpet, the room smelled of pinesol, mildew and just dirty. The tub had bugs in it so we declined to shower, the walls were water stained, peeling, and the AC unit was ancient and falling apart. The dresser was missing handles on it, the vanity in the bathroom had gold heart shaped stickers all over it like someone had not cleaned them off. The ceiling was falling apart and water stained, the box springs were stained and no sheets. Overall it felt very unsafe and dirty.

The rooms are big and the beds and pillows are comfy. The staff are always helpful and friendly. It was quiet and comfortable.

Quiet

The property is old and very run down. Room furnishings need to be put to the curb as trash. The buildings should be torn down and a new hotel built. The hotel did serve a purpose as there was widespread power outages in and around Detroit at the time of my stay.

It was a nice size room with a King bed there was no refrigerator or microwave and did notice 1 cockroach

It’s ok in an emergency…the price is right! There was no fridge in the room which would have been nice.

Our room was terrible, old, poor condition. Thin walls, no shampoo or toiletries besides soap, no hair dryer. The bathroom had a child size toilet and the door was hung upside down. The breakfast was a bag of cookies with a granola bar. Only good things were the price and coffee.

The bed was surprisingly comfy, room was clean though the bathroom sink counter was damaged. There was also construction happening in the lot next door so there was some noise from that but otherwise everything was good

The only thing I liked about the hotel or motel “whatever it is” is that the beds are mad comfortable besides that everything was terrible. When I went inside there were already flies in the room I spent most of my time there fight with flies. When I was trying to get into the room for the first time the key card didn’t work the first 3 times and if you leave and close the door all the way without no one inside your key card won’t work at all and you have to keep going to the lobby to get a replacement which is time consuming and aggravating. If you’re alone you have to keep the door cracked when stepping out and that’s not safe nor smart. The tv they had in the room was janky you could only watch sports and news channels any channels with “normal” tv shows or movies would just say no signal so they need to fix that. And worst of all the internet is garbage no matter where you were you only get 1 bar of WiFi or no at all you have to keep turn your WiFi on and off before it finally shows up for you to connect id rather be across the stress at the baymont I was able to connect to there’s all the from where I was. Over all NO.

Front desk clerk was friendly and nice place

clean, fun staff, quiet Older place. From office staff to maintenance it has an old town fun Place feel.

Very clean, nice people and gave me what I need. I had a great stay.

I am very appreciative of the "no questions asked" solution to a small, yet disturbing situation. The manager was completely understanding and very professional. He corrected the situation without no questions or negative comments.

This place is the king of cheap motels in that area. Amazing staff and service. Quality is about what you expect for the price but they do a good job eliminating the riff raff. Cleaning and staff is family. Not a bunch of random junkies. I always stay here when being budget minded. Never any issues

Great customer service

My checkout was at 12 pm and housekeeping walked in at 9:15am woke me up I was fully undressed sleeping on the bed.

They give you a little bag of goodies when you check out! Beds are clean and in great shape. Area was quiet.

Took many tries to get door to unlock.Breakfast was in paper sack with items I could not eat. Room had a damp smell witch lingered in clothing. Not as pictured on website.
