WoodSpring Suites Detroit Madison Heights

We booked the room for an overnight stay, but shortly after checking in we encountered a strong unpleasant smell in the room, mainly due to the unclean washroom. The toilet seat was stained with urine marks upon arrival. Unfortunately, the room did not meet basic cleanliness and freshness expectations for a comfortable stay, so we had to check out within an hour. To make matters worse, we were neither offered an alternate room nor provided a refund by the management. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and we would not recommend this facility to others.

The front desk attendance could not have been nicer and more friendly and helpful. She and the beds were the best part of the hotel. The beds are extremely comfortable. There are a few downsides. One was the back door being open at several times, which goes against the property manager's desire to create a secure building. Also, though no one was unfriendly or made me feel unsafe (it is an extended stay so there is a clientele that is long term), I smelled weed too much in the elevators, outside in the parking lot and through the halls if a weed smoker had walked through the halls. Also, the people next to me in the next room were extremely loud late at night. Great location for the hotel. Near the highway, places to eat and businesses.

Laundry and exercise room were good

Had a great time in Michigan visiting family…the staff at Woodspring was so accommodating and helpful..really enjoyed my stay
