I had a great stay! The hotel was very clean, and the staff made the experience even better. Maxx at the front desk was super friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The gym was fantastic—definitely one of the better hotel gyms I’ve seen. Also, shoutout to Luis from valet parking! He was so friendly and even remembered us from last year, which made us feel really welcome. Highly recommend this place!

Nice hotel - employees very friendly but very few people seem to be working in a big hotel like this (it’s no “Inn”). At 4:00pm on Saturday only one person working Valet Parking - 20 minute wait before even checking in- a line up of cars out to street waiting for Valet (45$). Then only one person very nice but multitasking person at check in (also answering phones). Another wait. Not sure if their was a manager on duty for he or she could have really helped there overwhelmed employees- if you like waiting a while for an overpriced breakfast you love theirs! I’d stay their again except park elsewhere and lower expectations regarding personal service- Home Deposit makes you feel more welcome and waits are shorter.

The Inn at Penn was super convenient for our trip plans, as well as clean and updated. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The “living room,” complete with a bar, was a great space for transitioning from work right in to happy hour. Several things needed fixing in the bathroom, which kept me from giving all 5s. We will definitely stay here again when our travels take us back to Philly.

The property was great, right in the heart of everything which is what we wanted. The only real negative on the hotel was that the valet parking, in that tight area, was not the best experience. I felt they did a decent job, but they were a little understaffed and in that small circle, that created a few issues. I can't imagine what its like on a BUSY weekend.

During my recent stay at The Inn at Penn, I had a very disappointing experience. After being stuck in the airport for five hours, I was too exhausted to inspect the pillows closely and slept on the softest of the four provided. The next morning, I discovered two large, disturbing stains on the pillowcase — dry, but possibly blood. I felt awful realizing I had slept on a pillow in that condition. Cleanliness is a basic expectation, especially at a hotel of this standard, and I cannot believe housekeeping overlooked something so obvious when preparing the room.

The room was nice BUT- the was a used toothbrush sitting visibly in the shower. Made me realise the bathroom was not cleaned at all. Also- the toilets made a noise of “near blocked”. And when I checked in the key did not work and it took some time to switch rooms. All in all- not what I expected in terms of maintenance

I booked this hotel as we were attending an event at The Mann. The hotel was fairly close and had generally positive reviews. We arrived and checked in around 4:30. We got to our room and noticed it was very dirty. The room looked like it had not been dusted in years. We looked at our bed 3 of our pillows had stains all over them and looked like they had not been washed. We removed our comforter which had been wrapped in a sheet on both sides. The comforter had stains all over it. We also found hair on the wall in the bathroom and the shower was not cleaned properly. I went downstairs and the gentleman at the front desk offered us another room. We had to move all our stuff to another room. Which also was very dusty and we found another hair in the shower that had not been cleaned. At this point we needed to be somewhere and had to go. I would spend your money somewhere else! The hotel is outdated and the housekeeping staff doesn’t do a good job at all!

This is a very nice hotel which feels like it is right on Penn's campus. My one big complaint is the wood frames around the bed. They stick out SOOO far that myself and both of my two children got serious bruises during our ONE night stay. The interior designer should be forced to sleep in one of these beds for the rest of their painful lives!

Great checkin. Shower and heat were broken. Apparently our room was over the ballroom. The partying vibrated our room, even the hallway outside our room. The DJ was audible in our room. After an hour I called the front desk, they said yes they knew and would ask the DJ to lower the volume. Thirty minutes later it was still loud and the front desk said they had asked the DJ to lower it and the party would be over soon. After 30 minutes I got dressed and went down there, they could hear it there too. Either the staff or manager apologized or offered to do anything, they said it’s almost over. How can you rent rooms were people can’t sleep.

We were dropping off our son at Penn over the weekend, and the hotel had a fun buzz with all of the families there to do the same thing. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, but if you want to have a nightcap, there are plenty of nice spots within the hotel to unwind. I look forward to staying again!

The hotel was great in terms of the room, food (room service), and the gym but the staff was terrible. The man that greeted us (the supervisor) at valet was a jerk. Shouting orders at us. I literally had to stop him and say, "answer my question" before I could get the info I needed. Then we get to the front desk and they were miserable. They did the bare minimum, checked us into our room. They were not friendly nor helpful. When we went to leave there was no one at valet. We asked the man at the front desk for help and he told us to go downstairs and wait. Honestly, for people working in the service industry, they were all terrible. We tipped everyone generously but they didn't deserve it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to friends and family and I can't imagine staying here again.

Stop forcing us to check out early!!!! Check in time is after 4pm, check out time is before 11am. That’s plenty time to get the rooms ready. But… At 8:30am on my checkout day, a staff (who doesn’t speak English) knocked on my door. I thought she knocked on the wrong door since she can’t tell me why she knocked. 30 mins later, she unlocked our door and tried to enter. I then understood that she wanted us to check out and then clean the room. I told her we are not ready to check out yet. At 10:30am, she knocked again and wanted to get in. This is not acceptable. My husband said his check out experience was bad so he didn’t file a complaint.

Customer service with a smile and a willingness to assist was a key characteristic of everyone who greeted us when we arrived at this property; the valet service was prompt and our check-in/check-out was attentive to our needs. From start to finish, we had an exceptional experience at the Inn at Penn. Unexpectedly, we needed to arrive a day early to Philadelphia a day before our scheduled visit. The hotel manager, Angela, was very helpful and kind as she assisted us in this process. Angela was a pleasure to work with and she helped us upgrade to a lovely room for the special occasion of our wedding anniversary. She even sent up a special gift on behalf of the hotel! We were overjoyed with our experience at this clean, spacious and conveniently located hotel. The staff was unbelievably kind and resourceful and we will most certainly be staying at this hotel again when we are in the Philadelphia area.

I booked a room with two beds but got a room with only one bed upon check-in. I was told they oversold, and since I booked with Expedia, not directly with the hotel, they would not honor the room type I booked. I reached out to Expedia, as I have booked many hotels in the past through them and have never had this issue with any other hotels. Expedia contacted the hotel on my behalf, and the hotel manager claimed they apologized for the inconvenience and have provided me compensation —a rollaway bed in the room! Stay away from this hotel if you don't want to deal with reservation not being honored and rude staff/manager.

Great location, right in the middle of the two universities and many restaurant's at a walkable distance. There is no parking available at the hotel, and instead of you looking for parking, they charge you $50 and somehow they manage. I wanted to go out at 10:00 PM, after seeing the packed cars in a jigsaw puzzle, and there was only one guy to manage it, figured out to skip going out and went back to room. Paid for the breakfast while booking itself, and during checkin they mentioned that you don't need to pay since it's paid already. But when I went to the breakfast buffet, the person charged me a whopping $136 (for 4 people) and said that it would be waived later. But on my credit card, the charge showed up and stay as is.
