This hotel USED to be our favorite but it's declining. The past two trips our valet experience has not been great. We pulled in and it's as if we didn't exist. We waiting by our car and tried to ask for help and then to our shock, they walked right past us and went to the guy who pulled in behind us. Delayed our check in and my husband has medical issues so standing for too long isn't great. The check in area and the restaurant are gorgeous. The rooms are always lacking in cleanliness. Last trip our floors were sticky and the carpet didnt appear to have been vacuumed. This trip, hair (little black hairs ON the tub) of course we didn't use it. Towels are old and scratchy. And just general lack of attention to cleaning...our tv had finger prints all over it, walls had splatter. It makes you feel like you can't take your shoes off. One note, last trip we set up room service for breakfast before we had to head to the hospital. It never came. We had to be all the front desk 3 times. It showed 2 mins before we had to be out the door. Honestly, we travel in for hospital appts at Penn and choose to stay near rittenhouse bc we have always loved it. It may be time to try some of the other hotels though bc Sofitel is not longer even a 4 star hotel in our opinion.
