SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Roanoke Rapids I-95

I picked this place because it said there was a pool and my grandkids were looking forward to swimming but when I arrived they said they didn't have a working pool. They were very upset and so was I. I had to find something else for them to do which cost me an extra $60. They should not offer the pool if it's non functional. That is false advertisement!

The pool was closed. We were not advised of this until we went to use it. Bathroom tiles were uneven. Room was stale smelling. Silver fish and daddy long legs in room.

Convenient for a quick over nighter going to and coming back from a long road trip. Easy check in, plenty of close, free parking.

The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful at check in. The area for walking the dog is convenient and decently lit. The families with young children are enjoying the pool. We have been disappointed with our room. I understand that it is better to have rooms without carpet when it is a pet friendly hotel. But our floor is sticky and the full length mirror that is on the closet door is dirty. The other issue that we are experiencing is that the bathroom door doesn’t fit properly, so you have to force it closed. Also the bathroom is very small and while that wouldn’t necessarily be a problem, the ceiling fluorescent light fixture is not sufficient to light the room. Unfortunately, this is not a hotel to which we will return in the future.

The swimming pool was not usable and it didn’t look like it was clean

You have to go out for food but plenty of options within a 5-minute drive. Beds are very comfortable. Gym was sufficient. Dumbbells 5-20, then 40 and 45. Would have liked 25, 30, 35. Cardio equipment was outdated. The pool was not available and the door out to the pool was malfunctioning so I couldn’t get back in the hotel via that entrance. All in all, it was a decent place to stop on a long ride south. Very convenient and easy to get to.

To start one of the beds sheets litterally had dirt on them which I needed to change, the ac either had mold or dust or both on them blowing, there was mold inn the room and bathroom, fixtures had rust, the room looked like an inner city institution, NOT a room by a major brand. Id NVER recommend this place to anyone based on this room!

SO ITS MIDNIGHT, , after driving 7HRS from NJ with my younger sister and 7mo old, we were looking forward to a nice clean place to lay our heads. Well that was not what we experienced. 1st at check in we asked if a 1st floor room was available, bc of my baby. we were told absolutely no rooms on the 1st floor. Ok fine, we loaded all of our stuff on a luggage caddy and proceeded to the room. When we got to the room, it was filthy! Garbage everywhere!! Dirty bed sheets on the floor, Horrendous!! So downstairs baby and I go. We see a night manger at counter and I’m appalled. I convey my discomfort and unhappiness, He gives us a room on the 1ST FLOOR. Ok , fine, after we told ABSOLUTELY Not.. we open the door, at first it looked ok, but then we take a closer look… and realize that this was not a properly cleaned room. The floors were filthy, turned my white socks black, had to throw them out. We did not even shower bc the tub walls and spicket were covered in grime and mildew. Thank go we brought our own blankets, we slept in top of the sheets not under, wanted to be extra cautious. Needles to say we will never stay here or any establishments affiliated with this company ever again. I’ve been in the hospitality business for more than 20 years, this is undoubtedly UNACCEPTABLE. And that’s a shame bc this morning all the employees were very friendly, but what good is that if they can’t clean the rooms properly and ensure a safe and clean environment for your customers?

The entire room was musky and smell moldy. The bathtub was dirty, the fridge was leaking, the tiles were chipped and floor was oily. Me and my kids slept with our clothes on and don’t bother getting under the sheets. It was one night then we left early morning. Never again

I reserve two rooms 208 and 210 .Room 208 bedding was stained and dirty they gave me another room 217.It also had dirty bedding .My Daughter and her husband were given a sheet and blanket to change the bed in room 217.they ended up putting the sheet on top of the dirty bedding in order to sleep.Room 210 the funiture was coming apart at the base. Both rooms did not have hot water.

This place had roaches

The room was really dirty. Shower walls were brown (dirty). Floor was dirty. Killed a bug first thing when I walked in. Not going back. Was downstairs for breakfast at 6:30. Left at 6:45, no breakfast, nobody in sight to serve it either.

Absolutely disgusting. Person working the lobby smelled like marijuana. Was placed in a room that was absolutely filthy. Asked to get moved , person at the front desk didnt even care as to why just gave us a new room. New room was just as bad. Bugs, dirt , mouse droppings

Room was dirty and run down. Floor was lifting, ceiling stained. I could scrape the soap scum off the shower walls. Fixtures filthy and some outlets not safe. Bed was lumpy. I have photos to send to sure stay plus.

The hotel is very dated. Could use a remodel.

The building needs more upgrades to the bathroom area. Very low toilet. But was fairly clean overall just stained and old. Construction site next door with multiple trucks in and out kinda scary for walking. Breakfast had limited choices.

1 Advertised Refrigerator in room broken and appeared broken for a long time, no temp control nob etc 2 had to change room as tv remote didn’t work in first room 3 lamp next to bed missing light bulb i had to use bulb from lamp next to tv 4 Ceiling popcorn plaster falling down in two places 5 unsupervised by hotel staff…kids in unlit pool area after dark around 9pm…accident waiting to happen 6 checked out at 5:30am, no staff at desk, front door unlocked, felt hotel is unsafe due to this!! 7 Bed was very noisy and bumpy must be very old!! 8 white pillows had a yellow appearance, possibly not cleaned properly 7 GOOD … Bathroom appeared clean and shower worked well Overall .. Will never stay at this hotel again!!

There were no issues with the check in. The condition of the hotel itself needs improvements. The pool is drained out. Bathroom door does not shut. Floor has a crack. A drawer that keeps opening

It was very quiet, and had a very comfortable bed. But the rooms were very rundown.

The first room they assigned to me had an awful smell of mildew so the front desk clerk moved me to another room. The 2nd room was better but the shower head was loose and kept falling down. Other than that, it was acceptable and the price was one of the least expensive around.

Our room had buckled floor boards, an entertainment center that had rotten boards on the bottom, and a rusted lamp from apparent water damage. The wall near the elevators also showed significant water damage. There was no hot water for our morning showers.

Staff was polite and helpful for the most part. Breakfast was fine for a quick exit from our stay, with a choice of breakfast rolls, eggs and sausage, milk and juice. But our stay was terrible as we had people in the next room that were very noisy, banging their door open and shut until and carrying on well past 1:00 AM. We were looking for a place to rest from our ongoing trip with an early and good nights sleep and that was not possible during our one night stay. We called the front desk multiple times between 9 PM and 1:00 AM, and my wife went down to the front desk at 1:00 AM and was told that the family in the next room had been moved to another room, when in fact they had not been moved and continued their antics well into the nite.

When we checked in our key didn’t work in the door. The desk attendant used his master key which he was going to give us (which means we could have entered any room) but a man came bolting out of the room. Screaming & yelling. The attendant states he’d been staying there awhile & the room status hadn’t been updated. He upgraded us to a suite . It was meh. The noise in the hall was too loud & kept my husband up all night. We had no towels for showers, the faucet in the tub was coming out of the wall & no water pressure. All I had were 2 washcloths to dry with. We just wanted to get out of there!

Traveling and needed a quick night’s rest to continue onward. We were greeted with an unfriendly front desk attendant that acted as though our last minute reservation was an inconvenience. When we got up to our room, we were smacked in the face with a strong perfume smell. It was as if they were trying to cover/mask something. The room was dirty, as there were hairs throughout the bedding, what appeared to be shoe prints on the pillow case, and sticky stuff on the very light cover. The floor had what appeared to be soda sprayed all over it. The walls had a splatter of some kind. The bathroom had ashes on the floor and pushed into the corner of the tub. This explains the need for the strong perfume as it was a smoke free room. For the amount of money for less than 11 hrs, it definitely did not pay for us to stop.

Everything was clean and staff where very friendly

My first assigned room had not been cleaned. The nice young lady at the front desk apologized and changed my room instantly. In my second assigned room, the remote control and the bedside clock did not work, When I called the front desk, the next person (a man) said that they had no one to check it out until the morning. A Terrible Stay.

Upon checking in the receptionist was not friendly at all. Then once getting into our room it smelled of mildew and wet. Sheets on the bed were damp, the room stunk, the floor was slippery like soap was all over it, around the bathroom floor it had black, the bathroom door barely opened and closed. My husband had a bed bug on him and when taking the bug to the front desk the receptionist didn’t see phased at all. We had to ask for a manager 2 times. When he did finally decide to come out of hiding he was very rude and not apologetic at all. He was like well what can I do and we wanted a refund considering we had to immediately leave due to the bed bug. He wrote on a piece of paper that Expedia would have to give the refund. 5 days later and still no refund. We then heard him telling the receptionist to basically not say the manager would be down to talk to customers when there was an issue. He was a coward and he knew the hotel had issues.

Overall the hotel was fine. However shortly after we checked in, there was a pipe that burst causing the entire hotel to not have water. We were not notified and had to call the from desk when we discovered we didn't have water for showers etc. A few water bottles to use for "bathing" were offered to us but nothing further. We were told we had to wait until the pipe was fixed sometime in the afternoon. Unfortunately we had an event (the purpose of our stay) to get to so we couldn't wait for it to be fixed. No further compensation was offered and if we wanted to talk to the manager we could at check out. When we did check out, the manager was not available but would call us. No one has called. In addition, the walls are very thin as we could hear everything going on next door. This was rather awkward as my daughter was with me.

This hotel has the worst customer service. The person at the desk did not even speak. I got there, told her I was there to check and gave her my last name. She never said a word. Put a piece of paper down in front of me without telling me what to do, and I had to ask her. Then she is at my hotel, keys down on the counter and did not say a thing. She never asked me for my ID to verify that the paid room was in fact for me. She never asked for a credit card to put on hold for incidentals. She did not direct me where to go in the hotel. She did not speak or give any information at all unless I outright asked. Ive never once been to a hotel where they don’t confirm with your ID your reservation so anyone staying here please be aware that anyone can use your reservation if they have your name.

The receptionist was very friendly, helpful and full of information.

Great Value. Older hotel limited options but worth the money for a quick stop over. Very convenient off rte 95.

A very friendly welcoming staff. Slightly older hotel, but overall well maintained. Breakfast was generous. I would stay again!

Our stay over night was fine as it was an overnight stay on our way to Florida. It was easy on and off the highway and dog friendly for our pet. Rooms could use a little renovation. Breakfast was ok not a great selection of items.
