This was such a nice stay. It really was a throw back to the times when motor lodges were everywhere and they provided local hospitality. The decor was very fitting for a southwestern lodge. Our room was huge and had all the conveniences of a modern room, but with charm. Everything was clean and well kept. The hot tub felt so good after a day’s drive and the breakfast was quite extensive. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

El Pueblo went beyond anything we had expected. The staff was particularly helpful and welcoming, and the facilities had more than we could even use (hot tub, pool, corn hole, frisbee golf, etc.). The complimentary breakfast buffet had food to suit all diets, and someone even came around to refill your coffee. We really enjoyed it here and would stay again.

I am a huge fan of old-school motor lodges like this one. El Pueblo retains its charm, and we really enjoyed our stay. The good/great: decor, furnishings, and little touches like table and chairs outside your room. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, with a very clean pool & hot tub, BBQs, chairs, and lawn games. If you're relatively fit, you can walk into town easily (I traveled with my parents who are in their 70s and they needed to drive into town and park, but I was able to walk in and out). Breakfast was delicious. Parking right in front of your room is also extremely convenient. Recommendations: The rooms were clean - don't get me wrong, but could use a deep clean for hard to reach areas, carpets, etc. Later breakfast - when I'm on vacation, I'm not up at the crack of dawn and I like to sleep in. Breakfast until 10 (vs 9:30) would help with that. To note: the lodge sits on a busy road, and there are alot of loud trucks and motorcycles that go past. Bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Overall: I would and will definitely stay here again without hesitation.

We LOVED how they made this motel into something very special. We swam in the pool/hottub, played cornhole on the lovely grounds, enjoyed their homemade salsa and chips in the afternoon, and their delicious breakfast in the morning. The room was spacious and the beds and bedding were so comfortable. Very walkable to old town Taos and all the dining options there.

El Pueblo Lodge is wonderful! As others have mentioned, the breakfast buffet is a major highlight of this centrally located family owned hotel. We also spent a couple hours every afternoon lounging by the pool and hot tub, which was well needed after our morning hikes and nature outings. Another perk is they provide you with charcoal & other grilling supplies if you decide to use one of the 3 grills on the property grounds. Our room was spacious and cozy and we slept soundly during our 5 night stay. We're already scheming our next trip back to Taos and El Pueblo!

Older property, but clean and well kept. It offered amenities not often found elsewhere such as barbecue grills, horseshoe pits, and corn hole games. The location was within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Nacho chips with salsa and cookies in the afternoon, but best of all was the southwestern breakfast.

I must have a clean room, and this one was. Bathroom was spotless and shower and curtain were as well. Plenty of towels and soap/shampoo/conditioner. Will stay here again. We did need a few extra towels and they were delivered promptly. Breakfast was fresh with many options. Eggs, tortillas, potatoes etc to make your own burritto, fruit, yogurt, fresh coffee, bagels, pastries. Something for everyone.

El Pueblo is very thoughtfully planned and cheerfully executed. The staff, from the front desk, to the maintenance staff, to the breakfast staff, were uniformly courteous and helpful. The grounds were very clean, well-organized, and tastefully decorated with holiday lights. The presence of a generous courtyard with lawn games and barbecue grills encourages us to return in warmer months with a broader group of family for a longer stay. Our room was well-furnished. The materials to make and sustain a fire in our room's fireplace were comprehensive, ensuring our fire building experience was easy and enjoyable. We hope to come again.

We had to be placed in 3 rooms. First one was not as requested, second room had tree beetles - my husband killed over 20 just in one area with many more in the room and bathroom. We were then placed in a 3rd room which was better but had a smell. The breakfast was good,

The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. However, we discovered early in the morning that there was no hot water. (Fastest cold shower I ever took!) We were leaving before the front desk was open, so I notified one of the breakfast attendants. He had me leave a note and said that they had been having problems off and on. I can understand an emergency, but it sounded like this issue should have been resolved. We had three rooms among our group, and none of us had hot water.

This hotel is a short walk from the Taos plaza, so was nice to leave the car and find dinner on foot. The breakfast buffet was a great spread, and the rooms were spacious and clean. My only drawback were the thin walls - we could hear the person snoring in the room next to us, and every conversation the kids were having in the room on the other side.

We have stayed here in previous years and had a good experience.. it is a quaint, older hotel but it is maintained and has a nice pool and hot tub. The grounds are nice and clean.The full breakfast that is offered is also great. Downside is walls are paper thin so if you want to hear everything going on in next room you will hear it. We were on lower floor and could hear the guests above stomping around. I dont think it was intentional, just not much insulation/sound barrier. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and they do accept pets for an additional fee. Its an older hotel and you have to understand that. Its decent, nothing fancy.

Fine location about equidistant between the downtown and the Pueblo. They have a nice property with grass areas, fire pit, horseshoes and a pool. Breakfast buffet was included and had a variety of options. The room we had was two queen beds and large. It was on the second floor and there is no elevator. So, if that is a problem make sure to ask for a ground floor room when booking.

Not sure how on earth this place has such a high review score. The room had a dated decor, old fake wood flooring, and an odd mix of furniture, including a super cheap PVC coffee table that cheapened the room. The grounds are nice and the hotel has potential. But the walls are surprisingly thin, and I could hear every noise from the big family staying next to me. Not worth what I paid and I wish I'd picked one of my other choices. The motel was very cute and clean. The only problem was the attitude of the desk clerk at check in. I was confused about the billing and asked for clarification on her terminology and she interpreted it as I was rude and scolded me in front of a lobby full of other guests. Very unprofessional and unpleasant check in, setting a bad tone for my evening. She needs more patience and empathy training, maybe her nose ring was uncomfortable and made her grumpy??

We loved our stay in El Pueblo. Huge thanks to the front desk and breakfast chef. Breakfast was served with special attention to my sister’s vegan needs.

This is a great place with a super breakfast. However, we were ripped off by the person who manned the front desk for $100 on a two night stay & an extra charge of $37 that she claimed was a clerical mistake on another 1 night stay. She also bad mouthed Expedia which I thought was rude. The rest of the staff was fantastic and the rooms and grounds were very nice. Rooms were dated, but charming & they brought us real wood for the fireplace every night. We had an illness that extended our stay & staff was very helpful & let us eat their great breakfast in our room. Other guests enjoyed hot tub & barbecue areas. Convenient location for driving to Taos Ski Area.

Amazing hotel. cozy rooms with a fireplace, great breakfast and really friendly staff. Front desk manager, Katherine is exceptionally nice and accommodating. It makes all the difference when you are treated nicely. Will 100% stay here next time we visit Taos.

Room/bed were wonderful and super comfy. Though the light over the bathroom sink was obnoxiously bright. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Easy walk to the Plaza. Grounds were beautiful. I would definitely stay again.

First time visiting Taos. Valentino at the front desk was very welcoming. Houeskeeping did an excellent job. Very friendly. Katherine the manager made sure everything went smoothly with our pets stay. Highly recommend.

My stay at El Pueblo Lodge was perfect. They have the friendliest staff and Gloria in the kitchen in the mornings is so welcoming and friendly. She makes the day start out great!

A charming motel property within walking distance of downtown Taos with a great hot breakfast and afternoon snacks. We had a double queen room that was very spacious, clean and comfortable. On Saturday they serve a delicious green chili chicken stew in the afternoon, it was so good we didn’t even need to go out to dinner that night. Perfect place for a two day stay to explore the area.

We loved our stay at this retro hotel. Location was great for our itinerary and a short walk to the plaza. Road construction was a small inconvenience and hopefully it’s completed before summer tourist season kicks in.

Good location around 10 minute walk from the main square in Taos. Plenty of car parking next to the room. Room spacious and comfortable. The corners at floor level were dusty but it didn't impact our stay as such. We had a first floor room which features a door to a shared balcony with partial screening from the room next door. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and a lovely seating area outside. Outside spaces were clean with plenty of seating. The pool was good although the sun loungers were in need of repair

El Pueblo Lodge is wonderful! As others have mentioned, the breakfast buffet is a major highlight of this centrally located family owned hotel. We also spent a couple hours every afternoon lounging by the pool and hot tub, which was well needed after our morning hikes and nature outings. Another perk is they provide you with charcoal & other grilling supplies if you decide to use one of the 3 grills on the property grounds. Our room was spacious and cozy and we slept soundly during our 5 night stay. We're already scheming our next trip back to Taos and El Pueblo!

We just completed a N.M. road-trip, where we stayed at (06) different lodging locations. Each was unique n their own way, but were similar in price. The location of each was at top of the list, & "El Pueblo" was walking distance from the plaza (shops, restaurants, tours...). The condition of this lodge & our rooms was great. You could also tell time/ energy was spent on maintaining the grounds/ courtyard. We enjoyed sitting outside on our front AND back porch. We would stay there again & recommend to family/ friends.

The cook did a great job cooking breakfast and was very nice and helpful, he served breakfast burritos, chicken tamales, biscuits and gravy. The evening they served green chili stew, chips and salsa with chocolate chip cookies! Nice job and very convenient!

I stay at several hotels a month, but never take the time to leave a review. El Pueblo Lodge was a great place to stay. The staff was friendly and the rooms were fresh and clean.There was an afternoon green chili stew and nachos available and the breakfast bar was loaded with everything that you could need.
