A friend and I did an overnight trip to Peddler's Village to start off the holiday shopping season. We stayed in the main inn and were impressed by its coziness. Since it's located in the Peddler's Village, it the walkabilty and convenience can't be beat. In addition to the main building, there are rooms interspersed within the village and have parking at the door. Note that parking for the main building is across the street on the far side of a field, although there are a few handicapped spaces at the entrance. So to avoid schlepping your luggage across the field, check in and drop off your bags before parking. At first glance, the rooms are clean and inviting. However, they probably should do a periodic inspection under the beds and removing cushions from the chairs. My friend misplaced her jewelry bag and we spent a frantic half hour looking for it. During the search, I found a pair of someone's shorts underneath one of the beds and peanuts and other food crumbs under the cushion of the chair. Would I return to the Golden Plough? Yes, absolutely.

Our room was very big with a comfortable bed and a large shower. Due to the location, parking was about a block away, due to the corner location and shops surrounding the property. Difficult to find the location since the address printed on the website was not the same as the actual street address.This was very confusing if you are familiar with this town.

Location is excellent. Restaurant on site. However,food choice in Buttonwood grill is limited for those with dietary issues. Room we were given (301) is not handicapped accessible(steps). Room large and clean. Bldg has elevator, but handicap entrance requires long walk.

Fantastic room… beautiful, comfortable, clean!! The only thing difficult …there was no elevator and we had to carry our bags up stairs… we are two 70 yr. Old women in pretty good shape except one of us had a knee brace on ! It would have been nice if someone could have carried our bags up the stairs! The experience was wonderful though and we absolutely loved the room! We will come again!

We thought the hotel was quaint and welcoming. The staff was very friendly. The rooms had a refrigerator and coffee maker. The bed was cozy and comfortable. My husband and I were pretty grossed out when we were checking under the bed and dresser for something that I dropped and found a pajama bottom and used tissues that did not belong to us. The hair drier was functional but only blew cold air. We notified the staff at check out without much of a response. Needless to say we did not leave any money in the provided envelope for the cleaning staff. So sad that we had this experience in our room because otherwise our stay was amazing.

Unfortunately there was a gross blood looking stain on one of our beds and we had to ask them twice before they changed the sheets. The place also has a weird musty smell. It was a great location but other than that I wouldn’t consider it “luxury”

This hotel is old and looks tired. On entry there was a musty smell in the reception. The room was large and well fitted out. The mattress was old, conked in in the middle and banana shaped from front to back. My wife and I kept rolling into each other during the night. My back problem that took me months to resolve with physiotherapy recurred in one night, so now I am back to square one. The property description by Travelocity was very misleading. I would not recommend this property to my friends.

When I checked in I was told that I booked two rooms. That was my error. The person at the front desk kindly cancelled one of my rooms. My only complaint of the property is the carpeting in the hallway. Needs to be refreshed. Hotel is in a great location with lots to do.

Stopped in at 2, was told by the desk support will call in a short while to let you know room was ready. We stopped back at 7 to check in and no one had called. Room 103 zero wifi, was told we had it, would not connect so do not expect Wifi if staying in the room.

This property was wonderful. The room was spacious with two queen beds. Breakfast was just a few steps away and shops were everywhere. I would love to come back around the Christmas holiday. I can only imagine this place is spectacular.

Rooms at the Golden Plough are scattered around Peddlers Village. Ours was in the Carousel section. It was a huge room, with fireplace. The bathtub was a large jetted spa that was built for two. We would definitely stay there again.

It was a very good location. Lots to do around the area. The room was nice, clean, and the bathroom was up to date. My only true complaint is the noise from the street. I heard every car passing by. Also, it could be because it is an older building, but I heard all the noise from inside as well, which made it hard to sleep.

Parking and entry excellent. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. We did not get the room shown when we booked, but it was very clean and attractive and the bed was comfortable. The seating area around the fireplace/TV consisted of 2 huge uncomfortable chairs without ottomans so we had to use a cocktail with bed pillows for ottomans. Also only network TV is so no movie rentals or streaming available. We will definitely go back but would like to see the room we book.

Check-in experience was very poor. Hotel had mishandled our Confirmed Expedia reservation and claimed they could not find it. Initially they said no room would be available. After further searching they found the reservation and a room with one double bed (we had requested a room with 2 double beds). Hotel said they could put a high quality roll-away in the room but did not initial offer any reduction in nightly rate. After pointing out that this was unsatisfactory - didn't meet reservation request due to Hotel's error - they offered to reduce the night rate by $20 per night and comp'd breakfasts for both days of our stay. We accepted those conditions although we we're very happy about the situation.

My fiance became very sick soon after arriving and he really needed a place to rest. I approached the front desk and made them aware of our situation and asked if we could get into our room sooner. The front desk staff was unbelievably helpful and we were immediately able to get into our room a couple of hours prior to check in time. We were so very grateful for their support and customer service. Our room was super clean and so comfortable! We look forward to many more stays. Thank you so much again!

Front desk reception was a little icy, the whole village closed because of a couple inches of snow that had cleared up by the time we arrived at check-in (including the attached restaurant at which we had made pre-Valentine’s Day dinner reservations). No apologies about any of this, just a matter-of-fact telling. Room was quaint and clean, but no fireplace or whirlpool tub. Doesn’t seem like anyone else is really here, so not sure why we seem to be inconvenience, but it is what it is!

Horrible customer service. Would not show Any flexibility on making a change due to sickness of my child. shows no humanity especially during times like this. So disappointed that a consumer focused business would be so insensitive. Was so rude to me when I called too. Have stayed there before but now Will never stay there again. Awful

Peddlers Village has so many memories for me and my family and I wanted to take advantage of a college reunion to stay at the Golden Plow Inn. Quaint and colonial, neat as a pin, I appreciated the robe and the immaculate bathroom with amenities. After a 9 1/2 hour drive from North Carolina, I arrived about 9:15 pm very tired. It was obvious I was no longer in North Carolina where people are particularly friendly. I thought the clerk was efficient, but abrupt and a smile would’ve gone along way. I was told I could park across the street and my space had a designated number but it’s dark out and a little bit more explanation could have saved me aggravation. Call me cranky, but customer service should be priority.

Loved it! Quick overnight get-away with the wife. Hotel staff was super friendly and courteous! Room was very clean! Hotel lobby connects to the Buttonwood Grill. Nice happy hour offerings, 4 - 6 PM. The main hotel (where we stayed) may be showing it's "well loved" age. Could be time for a little refreshing/refurbishment. But will not stop us from coming back!!! Well done everyone!

The hotel itself is in a great location, shops all around a quaint little village , the room is huge with period dated furniture of the era, it is super beautiful! The lobby is very homey all decorated with antique looking furniture , we do have a room on the street, very noisy with cars . Restaurant at the hotel excellent and very reasonable , would stay again

Did not like that the reservation was not correct from the beginning. The facility only had us down for one night when the reservation was for two nights. In addition, it was my thought that breakfast was included for two days. I was told this was not correct. I had to purchase two additional breakfast tickets. Not too happy. I came to this place because I was originally told breakfast was included. John

The hotel was very quiet and we had a lovely, spacious room! The bathroom was very clean. We had dinner in the attached restaurant and our food was excellent! We both had salmon and it was wonderful! Some of the best we have ever tasted. We dined on the deck and it was very nice. We had breakfast here also as it was the only place in town open early! Our breakfast was great! We had eggs, bacon, fruit and toast. Our waitress was very nice and made sure we had plenty of coffee! A great visit!
