Wilkes-Barre lodge

Clean comfortable room. Short drive to dining and shopping. Staff was very nice. The problems were the harsh polices about check-in and check-out, and the unfriendly tone of the posted notice about them. I didn’t even know what they were trying to say with the thing about a half hour (see pic). Worse: all the free AC outlets are blocked off so you can't plug things into them. To charge devices you have to unplug the TV, microwave, or fridge.

Rooms are totally clean, bathroom is good, no breakfast but Denny's is right across the street.

The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. It was a great value for the money. Nothing fancy. Good television. Good bathroom. The heat worked well. Location was convenient. Staff was friendly. The property was well lit at night.

It's a very basic room, that is ok based on the price. Two things struck me at check in, the person was very difficult to understand, after a couple times having him repeat I found myself just nodding my head without knowing what I was nodding to. A major turn-off, as most hotels use the credit card type keys, he blew into the little envelope to open it and immediately placed the key in the envelope, obviously this is VERY unsanitary, when I got to the room I threw the envelope away, washed the key and my hands.

Definitely would've done better sleeping in my car, or putting out the cash for a better hotel. Tried to save but really didnt. Had to pay $30 to check in before 3pm which regular hotels do as a convenience IF your room is ready. The beds are hard and not.comfortable at all. The heater was super loud so had to let it run for awhile then turn it off to hear the tv or get sleep. The pillows like 1/2 inch slabs of foam. No coffee or coffee makers in room or lobby. And the residents that live here are loud, drunks and who knows what else. Stay away if at all possible. Ill be posting this review on Google as well. The upload button wouldnt let me put a video of the heater screaming when I turned it back on this morning when I woke up freezing.

The room was fantastic! It was exactly just a room. Nothing fancy however it was comfortable, quiet, and restful.

After you get past the outside appearance the place was actually awesome bed was so comfortable great shower,heat and television too

Check in was simple and fast. Less than five minutes. The room was spotless and the bed, (a king), was super comfy.

This place is great! From the staff at check-in to the housekeepers we were made to feel welcomed and appreciated. If we are ever in this area again we will definitely stay again!

smelly room and washroom, would not recommended to stay with children

Staff at check-in was friendly and took time to explain things. The room is small but clean. I saw so relieved it was not carpet! The floors were clean, bathroom was spotless. Looked like new renovations. No funky weird smells. Definitely stay again next time we are visiting.

Old style motel with remodels. Looks nice in pics but not sure why this motel gets any high marks. It was clean but beds are like rocks. Pillows are an inch thick. Heating unit roars. Door difficult to lock. One night stay, so we overlooked issues. But noise in nearby unit persisted beyond midnight. Loud talking, arguing, sounded like doors and objects being slammed. Sleep was impossible. Reported it 2x to manager. He said he talked to them, got blowback, would have to call police. We asked for another room. None available. We left because we felt it was becoming scary and we had family member with disabilities with us to consider. Tried to get our money back through hotels.com the next day but was told we didn't allow them to fix the problem by calling hotels right then! Honestly, it did not occur to me. And we were supposed to hang around while this continued at 1230 am and wait for the police? Got a half credit through hotels but only after escalation. Be aware you must call them immediately if there is a problem. They said they would've gotten us another room. We tried four places nearby. Booked solid. I think the manager tried to help but ultimately more consideration was given to the disruptive party.

the room was clean and recently remodeled. The bed was comfy. The hot and cold water in the shower were switched so that when we arrived feeling coated with travel ick, we could not take a hot shower. Eventually, we figured it out, but it was very unpleasant in late December. While we tried to sleep, the heater cycled on and off noisily all night long. When the heater wasn't running, there ws no traffic noise and I think I would have given all the stars except for these two problems. It's a fine value and they should be able to fix the hot/cold switcheroo and if they replaced the heaters or fixed the air leak in the room, it would be nicer than what you would expect for the price.

I had a good experience at this hotel. I think that for the price it was good deal .Check in and out was easy and the staff was very nice. I would recommend this.

Very nice motel. Everything was just right slept well. Perfect location friendly employees that greet you and know me. In my opinion one of the BEST if NOT the BEST motel in Wilkes Barre

Quiet, clean, close to shopping and few minutes from Mohegan casino. Wonderful woman at front desk was very helpful and pleasant. I decided to stay at this lodge since the casino was charging three times the rate and for me, it wouldn’t be worth it because I’d be spending most of my time out of the room anyway. A nice place to stay for a reasonable price. I would recommend to anybody and I will be back.

We were tired from the drive, the employee who greeted us was informative and kind. He made sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed. There were hardwood floors, no carpet, which was Great!! It was midnight. Yes, We would stay there again!!

The Manager called me insinuating I stole I a blanket. And that he called the police. Very unprofessional environment

The Wilkes-Barre Lodge exceeded all of my expectations. It was extremely clean and well kept. The area around the hotel was not great, but otherwise a very comfortable stay.

Apparently, Hotels.com does not vet there properties well and isn't concerned about the safety of their clients. This property is located next to an abandoned, boarded up property and is not in a good area. We drove up to the motel and there were people hanging out on the balcony, and the property was not well kept. I contacted Hotels.com to cancel our reservation because I did not feel safe in tbe area and was advised the owner of the hotel would still charge us because we did not cancel within the alloted time. The safety of my family is worth more than the money spent on that motel. The pictures shown online do not accurately reflect the property, Buyer beware!

I stayed here on my way to Greensburg. The man who checked me in was friendly and the process went smoothly. The room appeared to be recently remodeled and I it looked nice. The bed could have been softer, but that is subjective. For folks traveling through it is near a Denny's, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Dunkin Donuts. It was easy to get there from the interstate.

We would stay again. Staff were pleasant. Rooms were very clean! We did not hear much outside noise. Hotel was close to restaurants.
