The Cotteridge Inn

The team were welcoming and informative. Rooms were clean and had everything needed in them. Me and my daughter had travelled from Alton towers so had eaten before arriving, and was heading out to Cadbury world early the next morning so did not try the food however options looked fantastic and you can see the kitchen from the bar which looks immaculate. I had a question about the TV and this issue was sorted in about 30 seconds without a second thought from the team. We had a drink in the bar and played some pool, again the team was helpful with sorting the pool table for us. Beds were lovely and comfortable, great showers/pressure (my daughter has thick curly hair). Towels and complimentary shower gel were a nice touch and smelt great. When checking out the lady apologised again for the TV issue, which honestly she didn’t have too as she had it sorted in no time and with no bother. This is a lovely little find with a wonderful community feel within. My 11 year old has described the team and hotel as ‘cute’. We never get this kind of compliment from her, its usually reserved for her cool mates. Thank you for having us, and if we head this way again we know where we’ll be returning too.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming, which made for a pleasant stay. The hotel itself could do with a lick of paint and a bit of updating, but overall it was comfortable and the excellent service made up for it.

No parking available. Incredibly slow check-in. Another couple then let themselves into our room! Manager wanted to know why we were in there and when we had checked in. Keys clearly work on multiple rooms. We left as we felt uncomfortable and unsafe. Manager stated we had been given the wrong room, but said in such a way it felt as though it was our fault. Contacted the hotel twice regarding refund as we then had to find alternative accommodation at our own cost. No response at all. They also ignored hotels.com who we had booked through. Avoid at all costs.

Clean room, helpful staff, happy days

The room was clean, beds very comfortable. Nothing to make a brew though. Shower was good but shower room smelled of cabbage. Noise of train passing until late. The corridor and stair carpets a bit tired and stained. Breakfast was fantastic.
