Pet friendly with indoor pool and hot tub along with decent breakfast

Great hotel. Nice facilities. Hot tub had too many chemicals and made us cough so we couldn’t use it.

There is not an elevator so it made it hard to get the stuff in and then back out. The room smelled. The breakfast was not good. The pool was freezing. The hot tub was not very hot.

No elevators to second level. Check-in was a little messed up and we ended up limping up the stairs to find out we were on the other end of the motel. 2 bedroom room was decent. Beds comfy. In 3 days we never saw any room staff. Breakfast was okay. So was the pool area.

Everything was as expected except the EV charger was broken.

Parking was good. I pulled a trailer and there was parking available on site.

The room was good. The only nitpick is the A/C unit was super loud. The bed was comfortable, the shower was updated and clean and the towels were soft. The pool and hot tub were great. My only complaint is the EV car charger was broken.

The bathroom ceiling had mildew, shower curtain rod needs to be fixed cause the curtain would not stay closed.

Property was OK, but in need of updating. Mold on ceiling in shower. Bed was very comfortable, except bedspread was stained. No housekeeping even though we stayed 2 nites. Ran out of toilet paper and clean towels. Free breakfast was not great. Coffee from machine was awful. Cost seems inflated. $150 per night, but tourist season was over. ie after Labor Day.

The first room we went in had a terrible smell, just like mold. The air conditioner was not on and it was nasty. They moved us to another room which was fine. However, when the air was off for an extended period of time, there was a stale smell.

We stayed at the Super 8 because of we attended the Crazy Horse Memorial Volksmarch on June 1st. I chose the Super 8 because of the high cleanliness rating. I was disappointed. The room could have used a deep cleaning. It didn't appear the carpet was vacuumed prior to our arrival. It wasn’t vacuumed during our "Day 3" cleaning. All that was done was the trashed emptied and towels changed. We have stayed in Super 8s before and most were spotless.

Clean. Free breakfast was very good including make-your-own waffles and very good OJ. Cover was typical automatic machine made, and not very good. (Not Keurig or fresh brewed).

Haven’t stayed in too many hotels that didn’t have mattress and box spring protective covers on them. This hotel does not have them. Room was cleaned but you could tell, housekeeping was hurried or new. Trash left in trash can, bath tub still had hair and plastic bag in refrigerator. Found food behind nightstand after dropping my earring in the AM. Hallways were pretty rough, need a good vacuum. Front desk was pleasant during checkin. Didn’t offer alot of information unless we asked. It was “ok” for what we needed for 1 night. (Traveled with pet) if it was cleaner, we’d be back.

Black mold on ceiling in the bathroom. Room was marketed as fitting 6 but we needed a rollaway to fit 6.

Nice big room with full kitchen. There were some leftover groceries/donuts left in the cabinet. The bottom bunk of the bunk bed blankets smelled like urine. Also pullout bed did not appear to have been used recently as when we pulled the cushions off there were Cheetos and hair all over The pullout bed. Luckily not on the mattress but bottom side. Otherwise room and mattresses were very clean.

Walls are paper thin. Awakened by upstairs and outside arguments multiple nights. Bathroom fan was so loud i think i suffered some hearing loss. Free breakfast items were cold and flavorless. Coffee tasted bad. Bed was hard and tossed and turned between noisy awakenings. Recommend only as last resort if coming through.

The room itself was excellent. It had been remodeled and the beds were very comfortable, and towels were brand new. Will stay there again when in Custer.

This hotel is a cost effective choice. Nothing fancy. Location was convenient. Decent place to stay. The two room suite was good for having room to spread out.

Room was clean. Overall property dated and bathroom small, room basic. It was quiet at night and bed was comfy. It was convenient to town and the park. It is pet friendly and that is our main reason for staying here versus other places. There are not many pet friendly options in the area. Overall stay fit our needs.

Great, clean hotel with comfortable beds. Hotel staff was great. Convenient location. We were on the first floor and I will say I would ask for a second floor room next time because the room or walking in the hall above us kept us up a lot of nights. We stayed for 4 nights and each night the footsteps were so loud at all hours. Other than that it was great!

We had a small issue upon checking in..but the staff went above and beyond to fix it. Wonderful staff all the way around.

The young man at the counter was great and the manager took care of a complaint immediately herself. Great service!

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE. The staff at check in is as rude at the check out staff. I got there, the guy didnt greet me. (Very serious). Didn’t even asked for my Credit Card, ID or my car license. Which I thought it was odd. When I asked him, because I had them ready in my hand…(he gave me this dirty look and said I don’t need that). It was like 8:00pm I’m not familiar with the area, knowing that the guy hates his job and humanity, I had the audacity to ask him which restaurant is good around the area that he can recommend. Oh Lord, it seems that I asked him something horrible. He stared at me and with this horrific face he replied: I don’t know I don’t live here! And he turned and walk inside his office. I was in complete shock. A couple was sitting reading in the lobby both of them apologized to me for that welcoming of that guy. They both said that he was rude to them too when they checked in. I was told that checked out was at 11:00. Like any other place. Exactly at 8:30am someone is banging so hard at my door like there’s a fire. Because i was sleeping I didn’t want to get up. It was too early. I heard the person moving the door knob. I was terrified, who does that in a hotel and that early. I ran to the door and asked who is it? It was the maid. Don’t they know who’s staying another night or not? Plus there was no sign to put at the door, Do Not Disturb. I told her check out isn’t until 11:00am I can’t leave now. I couldn’t continue resting after that.

Staff was awesome!

Good location and breakfast. There were noisy guests in the room above us late at night and the front desk staff took care of it immediately.

The check-in was super smooth - the assistant manager checked us in and was wonderful! He was personable and helpful, genuinely made the experience better. It was terrific.

I liked the convenient of the stay and the area we were going to visit. The breakfast bar was well maintained and had fresh options. I didnt like was the night check in was helpful but got rooms mixed up and gave roomkeys for wrong room. Key would not work. Changed several times.

Took about forty minutes to check in— even with Expedia itinerary number couldn’t find our reservation—instead of apologizing profusely, desk clerk rudely snapped at my husband—the morning after we checked out, despite having already paid through Expedia, our credit card was billed for a second time for $40 MORE than the price I booked for—so total of more than $320 for one night at a very small room with one queen bed. I will never book with Expedia again or stay at another Super 8.

The front desk staff were very helpful in changing rooms to 1st floor because no elevator. We enjoyed the hot tub and breakfast. Good value for stay.

Checkin was awful as they gave away our room and we had to fight to get what we paid for a king room as they tried to put us in a queen since they messed up

Hotel is centrally located for visits to Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, and much more.

It was a great find! We spent four nights and had so much fun exploring around Custer. Half hour from Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, and a bunch of charming towns. We found several great restaurants near the hotel that we enjoyed returning to.

Super 8 by Wyndham in Custer , SD was the perfect location as a base to see the sites like Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument. They were friendly, professional and knowledgeable of the area. I recommend it!

Great location. Close to town, close to restaurants, close to Crazy Horse monument and road to Mt.Rushmore. Clean room, lots of free parking, reasonable price, friendly staff, good breakfast. I would stay there again.

Only negative is that the coffee was very weak on all 4 mornings we were at this hotel.

I have stayed at this property several times when visiting Custer and the room has always been quiet and clean and this visit was no different. This time however the breakfast was horrible. The eggs had the consistency of gravel and tasted horrible and there was not a breakfast meat option. This has not been the case in the past and I hope it is just a 1 off occurrence.

Breakfast was ehhh. Waffle mix was never replaced for 2 days. The toaster and microwave barely works.

Room was nice. Breakfast options were not good. But if you stuck with cold cereal, yogurt and coffee it was ok.

The breakfast offerings were limited, but the main concern was the problem with the fork dispenser. It did not work for the two days we were there. In addition, there was one day when the milk was gone, and the desk had to be informed.

Breakfast could have been better it was cold. Rooms need to smell better for the rates . Always had to wait at front desk for service
