Wyndham Houston at Reliant Park & Medical Center

My vehicle was broken into right outside our room in building 4. The cameras in our parking area were all pointed at the walls and up in the air. The entry door to our building had been jerked on so much it would barely stay closed. The room was old and just painted over the bad areas. When we made the police report the officer told us there were 15 break in's at this hotel the day before. There were 6 other break in's the morning of ours. Horrible, horrible place!!!

Not only did we pay 5 times what a going rate was for this hotel, we also had to pay $40 a night for parking at this hotel. I understand event times will be higher but this hotel was literally 5 times higher on their rates for this weekend we stayed and then I was checking in and realized that it was going to cost me $40 to park, not for an additional car, just to park. Have stayed here numerous times but I will not be back at this currect development. SUCH A RIP OFF!!!!!

Elevator was broken and required us to walk up 3 flights of stairs with luggage in tow. Room was so hot and did not cool down til the next day.

Booked this hotel specifically for the bar and restaurant. We were told it opened at 4 pm. We got there a little after 4, and everyone was locked. The told us it would be 5. We didn’t have time so we went about our business and came back at 8:30. Still all locked up. Not a soul in the place.

Took 2 hours to check in. If you're thinking it's convenient to stay here for a big concert, think again. What you get for its proximity to NRG, you pay for with bad service and gouging you with a parking fee.

Our stay was ok. Beds were comfortable and AC worked well. Hotel is very old and dated. The elevator was not working during our stay and we did use the stairs but it is rough carrying luggage up to the third floor. Had I known this ahead of time I would have definitely canceled our reservation. We did only stay one night for a concert at NRG and it was so convenient.

For staying by NRG stadium is the only reason to stay at this hotel! From old outdated rooms, no hot water, no water pressure, mold on the old drop down ceiling tiles. The toilet took a year to flush, the bar never had any wine, everything was we ate out of it for two days. The restaurant which it is not was breakfast for $20 a person for nothing, I got charged and only eat meat for 3 sausage and a few bacon pieces. Total ripoff! Took us over an hour just to check into our room, no towels at the pool! The entire hotel is outdated and charging $40 to concert goers leaving us hotel guests no where to park! $500 for two days and no food nearby, the ones nearby were a 3 hour wait. Barely any food at the bar which of course was out of everything. Bring your own wine ladies, they had no good wines left on a Friday and out the whole weekend. Poorly ran hotel!

The room was good the only problem was having to pay an extra 30 dollars on top of already renting a room for parking. It wasn’t mentioned anywhere that they would be charging guest of the hotel parking and non guests parking for the rodeo and concert that was happening nearby.

Stay was good until next morning when I woke up to leave and got to my truck and realized it was broken into. Also 10 other vehicles were vandalized. The staff knows about this yet do nothing for added security at night. I definitely will not recommend based on how the situation was handled or should I say was not handled.

Friendly and helpful staff. It was nice to have breakfast dining, customer paid dining service, snacks for purchase- were overly expensive. Bed was comfortable, internet service was ok there was no transport access. Pool area was dirty and so

The hotel was continently located across the street from NRG, even being in walkable distance. This was great for our weekend as we did not have to Uber and we were able to get back to our hotel quickly with no issues. The hotel did not meet my standard, the hallways smelled like marijuana and our room smelled like mildew. The tile in the bathroom ceiling had holes in it. We also had to pay to park because of “special events.” All though it did not my standards, the staff was friendly and very helpful.

Hotel needs upgrading! There was mold on the curtains and bathroom and the room had a bad smell.

My tub had mold in tile grout around the soap shelf. We lost water for repairs on Tuesday morning from 10am-3:30pm. They notified us of the repair. We lost water on Wednesday sometime in the morning and did not have hot water by 9:30am on Thursday. Cold water was back on Tuesday evening, but it was brown. Almost all doors are in desperate need of paint. The hotel is dated. The breakfast staff was excellent, and the breakfast was good.

We found bedbugs in our room, they moved us to a different building, and we had bedbugs in that room also. Air conditioning was not working, and building needs to be remodeled.

Old, dirty shower head and other equipment, roaches in bath, old carpet. Had to walk to other building and third floor for a working ice machine. Old couch and light fixtures, room need updating only thing good is location.

We stayed at this hotel because of the proximity to NRG park. I checked reviews first and they gave me an overall satisfactory expectation. Check in was easy and the service was friendly. I was pleased with the size of our room and we had a great view of the pool. The biggest downfall was the cleanliness of the room. The bed was dirty and the bathroom tub was unacceptable. We encountered several cockroaches throughout the room and hotel. Once we found a baby roach partying on the pillows, we left. This hotel has a ton of potential with some updating and cleaning.

Hotel was not like pictures shown…old and falling apart. There are several sections to the hotel and because I did not book directly through the hotel, they put us in the old, unrelated section. There was mold growing in the bathroom, rust stains coming out of AC vent, roaches and bugs on the sheets.

I usually do not write reviews. However, to help future travelers pick a property that is right for them I wanted to share my experience at Wyndham Houston near NRG Park. I do take full responsibility for not researching a bit more about this property before making our bookings. It was a quick decision as we were in town visiting our niece who was at MD Anderson and needed a hotel near the hospital. As far as location this property was not bad. However, the cleanliness of this property was unfortunately below mine as well as my extended family's standard. Just walking to our rooms we had an uneasy feeling from the smell of the hallways alone. I do give this property the benefit of the doubt as this is an older building that undoubtably would have some odor. Not an issue, definitely understandable. But upon entering the bathrooms of 2 of the 3 rooms we reserved, there were RAT droppings, no not mice droppings. they were on the floor near the toilet as well as on top of the "fresh towels". When I called the front desk they did send a house keeper who picked up the droppings but never returned with fresh towels. We were never offered any compensation OR fresh towels. We did check in later in the night and were pretty tired after our experience at the Cancer Center so we had no other option but to stay. Needless to say we were all pretty grossed out and were super happy to be home the next night. I hope this review helps anyone looking to book at this property.

Cockroaches in the first room, when I asked to be moved to the towers instead of the other section, they were friendly and had no issues in moving us. The second room in the towers had tiny roaches in it. Will never book here again.

The only 3.5 star is the lobby. Once you get back into the rooms everything is old and outdated. Place is clean, but old. Ice machines don’t work, phones in room don’t work, and the rooms don’t have mini fridges.

every room need microwave and refrigerator PERIOD

Very inconvenient! We picked this hotel to be close to the NRG Stadium for a Morgan Wallen Concert. It took 2 hours to check in to our room. There was no A/C is part of the lobby in which we had to wait in line to check in. Our room would not cool down, it was tolerable but something was definitely wrong with the a/c. The next morning the shower had no hot water and would cut on/off.

No mini fridge. Tiny shower , no ice on my floor, breakfast didn’t start when they said it would. They didn’t seem to be concerned about anything

The suite layout was spacious, very clean, and very comfortable. I was actually disappointed by the amenities. It had a dorm size refrigerator with no microwave, a single tiny bar of soap, and enough shampoo and conditioner to wash my infant grandbaby's hair only. Single pre-wrapped coffee condiments of a single packet of sugar and creamer. They need to invest in the mountable toiletry dispensers, microwaves, and upgrade their complimentary coffee service.

Very uncomfortable beds, very outdated room.

Took over an hour and a half to check in. Super hot in the lobby while waiting. Receptionist completely ignore my request to be on the same floor as my friend. When we got to our room & took a shower there was no hot water & no soap to wash your hands. Air vent would not turn off so it made noise all night long.

The front desk people were sweet, however they don’t mention that breakfast costs money and the rooms (the bathroom) looks run down. No microwave or fridge in the room that we stayed in.

You would think a property near a busy concert venue would have a smoother check in experience, but even with three at the front desk, it was still insanely slow and the line was to the back of the hotel. They weren’t allowing early check ins from what I understand and the staff was visibly frustrated. The area itself wasn’t the best but there seemed to be parking lot and overnight security, and the parking attendant was incredibly kind and gave us direction several times. Something needs to be done for a smoother and quicker check in during peak times.

Got there and they told me I did not have a room booked even after I gave them confirmation number! I had booked the room since December of last year for the Metallica concert! I waited in line for 2 hours for them to tell me I’m sorry we don’t have your room! I go on li e and they had rooms available for $468! I paid $181 online on December when I booked room!

Stayed at this location due to the 10 minute walk to NRG for Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter show. Front staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They had no issues helping us update the payment method and helping my brother and I switch from one king size bed to a room with 2 double beds. Thank you for that! They allowed us to check in early, there is a $35 fee. Also Expedia please add there is a $100 incidental deposit requirement. We were unaware of this until check it, it has since then been refunded. My only thing is the bathrooms could use a little renovation. Maybe it’s because we’re not used to humidity but the room felt humid all the time. However if you need a few days to lay your head down to attend events at NRG this is a great option!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Accidentally reserved a room with 2 beds and was switched to a king room with no hassle.

Great walking distance to venue. Rooms were a little out dated and a little dark. Staff was great though.

We waited over an hour to check-in. We are in town for an event and were late arriving to the event due to spending in line, waiting to check in to our room. It was also incredibly hot inside the building. The staff were friendly but there has to be a better system for checking in large amounts of people.

Very short staffed for check in. They dont vlean rooms every day as you have to request them to do it. But it doesnt state that anywhere. I had asked for towels around 930 945pm. Didnt get them until arou d 1030pm. The tv didnt work amd could ahear everyone in the hallway. When i asmed where i could get ice, i was told to get it from the bar or kitchen. I was only givevn 1 cup of ice. Staff was exrewmely rude at check in and even more rude when i checked out

It was a nice experience overall , although they should have more checking in desks on high attendance events ..the check in took around 2 standing hrs On the otherside the staff always kept a smile and good service

The location is excellent, as it’s near NRG Stadium. We arrived on the day of a large concert and the lobby was lined with approximately 80 people in front of us waiting to check in, but the excellent front desk staff got through all 80 in less than an hour. It was hectic, but the hotel staff did well. The rooms are old and dirty, and the bathroom made me feel as if I couldn’t even take a shower or get comfortable. The entire room and bathroom felt humid as soon as we got there. The area around the hotel is not ideal. It’s sketchy, and there are plenty of grifters. Overall, I would only stay here again if I was seeing something at NRG Stadium, as the walk is not bad. Other than that, I wouldn’t touch this place.

Hotel itself was ok. The room was clean. Could stand to use an upgrade. But LOVED the proximity to the stadium where we attended a concert.

It says there is breakfast and they don’t offer it anymore. The restaurant there is also closed down. The staff were very friendly and courteous.

Booked two rooms and requested they be together. Hotel confirmed twice they would be and upon check in they are seperate.

I liked that it was close to the NRG stadium perfect I’d say … I was not thrilled with the dining at the bar area … food was not the greatest…staff hard to understand.. food too bland no taste we had no options for our strips such as honey mustard or Ranch asked for extra ketchup server never came back that was the first night … second night we were giving this place another shot we ordered pizza and it was not worth what we paid for ..our room came with no refrigerator or microwave not sure if that’s how it works with this room option but others did say they had both in there room..for price of this stay it should have had both I think ….but breakfast was great .. no complaints about that.

The location was perfect for us, and our king suite was huge. The bed was comfortable, as were the arm chairs and couch. The bathroom was small but clean, with nice fluffy towels. We could shut off the bedroom from the living room area and bathroom- nice when one of us slept in! We stayed four nights, and ate a delicious breakfast there all four days. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. David, the food and beverage manager, was very friendly and professional. He took exceptional care of us, remembering our favorite table and preferences every day. He was particularly attentive to my gluten intolerance, which I greatly appreciated. We’ll be back on our next trip to Houston!

Beautiful hotel. Furnishings were extremely nice. The bed was so very comfortable! We ate breakfast there one morning and our omelets were very tasty. One night my husband went down to get ice and for dizzy and the desk attendant came quickly and helped him out. Very comforting to know that your staff was so caring.

Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Bed was comfortable. Appreciated having security on staff all night. Location is great for attending games at NRG Park — we just walked to game. Restaurant is really a bar with a limited bar food menu and the breakfast is only a buffet. The morning we were there, only 1 staff member showed up so it was difficult to get food, cups, coffee, etc.

Next to NRG stadium, but no restaurants within safe walking distance. It’s an old hotel, but for me, it was worth the price. The staff was great. The hotel restaurant for breakfast is terrible. Stay away, it’s a breakfast buffet type, but the food was stale. I guess there weren’t enough guests and the pancakes had been sitting there for a while, just like the eggs.
