Hotel was nicely appointed and very clean. Grounds and pool were nice. Everything was great except my AC control was stuck and it was very warm during my stay. In the middle of the night I forced the temp control by holding it down for a long time. Temp then improved.

We come to Lufkin 2x/year for gymnastics meets. This place is the best one we've stayed at so far. Prices are more reasonable than some of the other ones. The staff are nice. There's fresh-fruit-flavored cold water, big chocolate chip cookies, and a cappuccino machine by check in counter. The reception area, hallways, & bedrooms are clean. The only drawback is the small gym with limited equipment & no hand weights. You can do cardio, but impossible to do proper strength training with what they have. We had 2-queen bedrooms. NO CONNECTING ROOMs, although it's noted to be available online. Our bedroom & bathroom were reasonably spacious & stocked with basic toiletries. We really liked the breakfast options. Although the dining room is small, they have more variety of breakfast totems than most places (even the more expensive ones). Here are the list of their breakfast choices: - hot items: pancake-covered sausage on a stick, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, biscuit & gravy, Texas-shaped Belgian waffle (you make it on site with a waffle maker) - continental: bread, bagels, prepackaged cinnamon rolls, prepackaged cheese pastry, breakfast bars, prepackaged blueberry muffins. - fresh fruit: apples, clementines, bananas, blueberries - others: yogurt, oatmeal, 3 types of cereals, peanut butter, jellies, chocolate chips, butter - drinks: coffee, milk, non-dairy milk, OJ, apple juice.

The bed was hard and the pillows bad. One of the outlets in our room was burnt. The pool was cloudy. The tv did not work having kids that was not cool since we had been traveling 11 hours. The front desk did her best. The manager got mad at her for bothering him while she was trying to fix the tv.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Must entire property needs a full makeover and updating. Really musty carpets. I had to change my room twice. Coffee machine to make lattees is a plus. Breakfast was nice with lots of options. Unfortunately I would not stay here again.

There was mold in the bathroom and on the walls in our room. Was noisy with kid noise, not something the hotel could help. Staff were friendly and welcoming. When we got to breakfast there was nothing left but when we asked, they were quick to replenish.

We booked through Expedia. When I called to change our reservation the hotel looked us up and said we would have to go through Expedia. We decided to keep our reservation “as is” after seeing the penalties. When we arrived, the hotel couldn’t find our reservation. I shared with them I had called 2 days prior and the staff had looked us up in there system and confirmed us over the phone. The front desk staff was unhelpful and rude and didn’t even speak to us as they continued typing in their computer. They told us another time they couldn’t find our reservation, so we searched through emails and provided our confirmation information. After searching in their computer for a few more minutes they found us and told us we were there on the wrong dates (we were not and showed them our confirmation email to prove it). Without discussion, they started calling their “sister property” to see if they had any space. We said we did not want to go to another location (we’d spent 12 hours traveling and wanted to go to bed and also the sister property was a lower quality property) so they put us in a room which was not what we booked or paid for (downgraded us). The room smelled like mold and the smell was coming from the AC/Heater unit. There was also black mold covering the bottom of the bath mat. After suffering through the first night on one of the worst beds we had slept on, we actually went to a store and bought a foam mattress topper. Never using Expedia or Best Western again.

We try to use this hotel whenever we visit family in Lufkin. Although the hotel is becoming a bit old, the rooms are clean and the hotel is well-maintained. The beds are very comfortable and the walls are thicker than many hotels around the same price point. We have never had a bad experience here and would recommend anyone to stay at this Best Western if they are visiting the Lufkin area.

Hotel is undergoing renovations so walls are unfinished and numbers were on the doors with paper. Outside door lock didnt work to get in and out. Went to smoke outside and couldnt get back in had to walk around the hotel to front to get back in. The room itself was nice outdated decor but ok. Needed a little more cleaning. Rented the room for the jacuzzi tub and the jets didnt work on the tub. The one jet that did work let out a foul smelling water that was black. Turned off the jets and juat enjoyed the big tub. House keeping started beating on the door at 945 and checkout was 12. House keeping came back at 11 beating on door and i told her we would be out in a few mins as check out was 12. She started yelling at me saying it was 11 and i needed to get out. It was really disappointing and ruined what was left of our anniversary staycation. The lady at the front desk is extremely nice and Dave the maintenance guy was super nice as well. I hate i didnt get the lady at the front desk name she was so nice. Sad the cleaning staff doesnt have that same personality.

I booked the room just for the jetted tub. Upon getting into the room and filling the tub it was apparent the tub didn’t work. The front desk person came to look with the maintenance man on the phone. Nothing was done and nothing was fixed. I paid $180 just for the use of the tub. Was told I’d receive a discount due to the tub not working and the inconvenience. I received a whopping $20 off. What a joke. It’s just a standard room without the tub but I was charged well over standard rack rate.

The room was large and well planned. The decor was lovely and the bed comfortable. The toilet did not flush well. It required several flushes to remove the smallest amount of paper. The internet was unstable. While on a site, I would receive several messages that I was 'offline'. Then another message 'restored'. This seemed to happen every two or three minutes. Overall, it was a good stay, and I would stay again.

This was the second time we stayed and got the room with the hot tub. The first time I let them know the jets in the tub was barely working. So we gave it another try this past weekend and the jets where even worse. We paid over $400 for a this room only to be disappointed again. SO if you go I wouldn't advise spending the money on this room as they only have one room that has the hot tub.

Room was nice when we first arrived, however, the guest that was above left the bathtub running and water poured into our bathroom below.. As it was a Saturday, staff member at the front desk stated the maintenance guy was not back until Monday. No offer to clean up the water which was a significant amount or provide more towel. Stated that the water would stop eventually. Toilet was unusable. No other rooms available that night in the hotel. Asked the manager to call me Monday to discuss and heard nothing... As it was a Saturday, staff member at the front desk stated the maintenance guy was not back until Monday. No offer to clean up the water which was a significant amount or provide more towel. Stated that the water would stop eventually. Toilet was unusable. No other rooms available that night in the hotel. Asked the manager to call me Monday to discuss and heard nothing... Hotel is undergoing renovations so walls are unfinished and numbers were on the doors with paper. Outside door lock didnt work to get in and out. Went to smoke outside and couldnt get back in had to walk around the hotel to front to get back in. The room itself was nice outdated decor but ok. Needed a little more cleaning. Rented the room for the jacuzzi tub and the jets didnt work on the tub. The one jet that did work let out a foul smelling water that was black. Turned off the jets and juat enjoyed the big tub. House keeping started beating on the door at 945 and checkout was 12. House keeping came back at 11 beating on door and i told her we would be out in a few mins as check out was 12. She started yelling at me saying it was 11 and i needed to get out. It was really disappointing and ruined what was left of our anniversary staycation. The lady at the front desk is extremely nice and Dave the maintenance guy was super nice as well. I hate i didnt get the lady at the front desk name she was so nice. Sad the cleaning staff doesnt have that same personality.

We booked through Expedia. When I called to change our reservation the hotel looked us up and said we would have to go through Expedia. We decided to keep our reservation “as is” after seeing the penalties. When we arrived, the hotel couldn’t find our reservation. I shared with them I had called 2 days prior and the staff had looked us up in there system and confirmed us over the phone. The front desk staff was unhelpful and rude and didn’t even speak to us as they continued typing in their computer. They told us another time they couldn’t find our reservation, so we searched through emails and provided our confirmation information. After searching in their computer for a few more minutes they found us and told us we were there on the wrong dates (we were not and showed them our confirmation email to prove it). Without discussion, they started calling their “sister property” to see if they had any space. We said we did not want to go to another location (we’d spent 12 hours traveling and wanted to go to bed and also the sister property was a lower quality property) so they put us in a room which was not what we booked or paid for (downgraded us). The room smelled like mold and the smell was coming from the AC/Heater unit. There was also black mold covering the bottom of the bath mat. After suffering through the first night on one of the worst beds we had slept on, we actually went to a store and bought a foam mattress topper. Never using Expedia or Best Western again.

I wasn’t given any info about the property at check in. I checked online for their checkout time, which stated it was 12:00pm. I got a long banging at the door that woke me up at 10:30am by housekeeping and then another at 11:00am. At 11:05am, I got a phone call asking if I’d be checking out. The lady stated the checkout time was 11:00am and that it changed recently. I apologized that I wasn’t aware and let her know I’d get ready asap. very nice location to davy Crockett national forest. nice furniture, USB plug will be a very needed addon for next upgrade hotel project. all employees are very professional and friendly. this is where i will stay for future visit in the area.

We only stopped one night but this location turned out to be a great choice for us. It was clean and comfortable, and each staff member we encountered was pleasant and helpful. Good dining options in the area. We loved Ralph and Kacoos restaurant next door, with an amazing New Orleans-inspired menu. Kudos also for the extensive, excellent breakfast! The Texas-shaped waffles were a fun treat as it was our first night in the state!

Stayed in a 2 king bed suite and it was very roomy with very comfortable beds and clean, top notch room. I travel often and this one of the best rooms for me in a couple of years. Free cookies and great free cont. Breakfast with good choice of hot dishes ...biscuits, gravy, sausage, potatoes, eggs etc and waffles.

We come to Lufkin 2x/year for gymnastics meets. This place is the best one we've stayed at so far. Prices are more reasonable than some of the other ones. The staff are nice. There's fresh-fruit-flavored cold water, big chocolate chip cookies, and a cappuccino machine by check in counter. The reception area, hallways, & bedrooms are clean. The only drawback is the small gym with limited equipment & no hand weights. You can do cardio, but impossible to do proper strength training with what they have. We had 2-queen bedrooms. NO CONNECTING ROOMs, although it's noted to be available online. Our bedroom & bathroom were reasonably spacious & stocked with basic toiletries. We really liked the breakfast options. Although the dining room is small, they have more variety of breakfast totems than most places (even the more expensive ones). Here are the list of their breakfast choices: - hot items: pancake-covered sausage on a stick, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, biscuit & gravy, Texas-shaped Belgian waffle (you make it on site with a waffle maker) - continental: bread, bagels, prepackaged cinnamon rolls, prepackaged cheese pastry, breakfast bars, prepackaged blueberry muffins. - fresh fruit: apples, clementines, bananas, blueberries - others: yogurt, oatmeal, 3 types of cereals, peanut butter, jellies, chocolate chips, butter - drinks: coffee, milk, non-dairy milk, OJ, apple juice.
