Courtyard by Marriott Lufkin

We came specifically to let our grandkids swim, and when we got there, what was represented on the Internet was not what we found. The pool was very small and the water looked dirty, there was no hot tub. The floors were peeling. It was dark, and it was not clean at all. Just very disappointing!

Staff was super friendly, just want to start there. Not what you would expect from Courtyard by Marriott. Pool is really an oversized spa, was indoors which mixed with the humidity felt like you were being suffocated. No A/C in pool room. We were looking forward to pool time, but was unable to stay inside. LIMITED hours that you could order food in bar area, they don't serve food all day. Only one elevator worked which caused delays every time and we were forced to take stairs on some occasions. They were down a washer and a dryer and we were given pool towels on two of the four days. Outlets need to be replaced, they were loose and sparked when you plugged anything in. Plugged into the outlet on the lamp on the desk and it blew the breaker to our room. Fortunately that was resolved within 10 minutes, but of course had to go downstairs at 1130pm because phone was not working due to breaker being tripped. Our bathroom door would not close without BRUTE force, which was VERY loud. Rust on every vent from the humidity. Water dripping from over head vents throughout property. Very uncomfortable bed, like springs were popped uncomfortable. Would not recommend. We were there for a family wedding and all our family had issues in their rooms, was not isolated to our room.

Will stay again. Very clean. Only issue was having only one drive into hotel.

What i didn't like was there was no complementary coffee. Also, there was only 1 entrance/exit to the property. It would be easier if there was an exit/entry to the side of the businesses.

They couldn't find my booking, made it through that really well lovely ladies. A hand rail was broken in the elevator. When stepping off the elevator the floor gives( 3rd floor) The door to one of the bathrooms in one of the 2 rooms will not close. The base of the beds are filthy! The ac barely works at all. The pool room has mold, paint flaking off the ceiling into the pool, a pool that doesnt work..... it was explained that it is a pool spa but it really is neither of those. The beds are hard as a rock. Do not come to this Hotel expecting quality because you will be disappointed.

We got this hotel because of the indoor pool. We arrived to the pool out of service and the only thing the manager would do is credit my money back (which meant leaving and trying to find another hotel on graduation weekend…… very disappointed. The coffee in our room was not what we expected….every single food or drink was for purchase. I won’t be staying here again.

All the vents in the lobby were dripping water and the hotel smelled like mildew/mold. The fitness room was moldy.

2 elevators…. one was blocked out of service and the other one was on and off…. had to walk stairs to 3rd floor and stairwells didn’t feel safe for a single woman….. when working extremely slow….. Jyst did t seem like a priority to them…..

Great hotel, super clean!

Mold in shower, trash cans didn’t have any liners, linens smelled horrible, shampoo conditioner and body wash bottles in shower broken or empty. Staff was wonderful but cleanliness needs major improvements.

The sofa had many stains and there was hair in the bathroom. The bathroom need some touch ups and the room smelled like damped clothes maybe from water issues. Other the that the check in was good, bed comfy, hot water. Overall it was okay. Didn’t see any bugs.

This Courtysrd has, I think, foundation problems. The third floor was unlevel and had uneven floors. My bathroom door would not close. Everytime I closed it, it would swing open. It was out of line or something. The housekeeper did not totally clean my room. The bathroom floor had not been mopped. The amenities had not been refilled. She didn’t replace some of the towels. The bed was not actually made. The sheets weren’t smoothed out. The tv was in an odd position. And the whole place had a smell of dampness or of sewer. It did not have a pleasant smell. The carpets were dirty. They hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. And the roof was leaking in the bistro. This place needs help fast. I was disappointed.

Nice Hotel. Close to shops and restaurants. I just wish the rooms were a little more sound proof. It was kind of annoying hearing everything out in the hall way.

The hotel needs updating especially in the bathrooms. The light fixture in room 212 was stained as if a water stain. The bathroom needed painting and sheet rock repair. There is no vent in the bathroom. Lastly the room has a gap between the door of the room and the hallway. This caused a lot of concern for security and noise in the toom. A towel was placed under the door to help decrease the noise from the hallway. With that said, the stay was not horrible. The room was clean. The bathroom needs updating. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Katherine in housekeeping was amazing and seemed to genuinely care about making sure the customers had all of their needs met. We will be back.

The room layout was nice and roomy. The bed had some sort of crumbs between the sheets when we turned down the covers. The mattress was terribly hard and was not comfortable at all. Had scheduled for two nights but canceled the second night. The bathroom towel rack was not secured to the wall properly and came loose when used. Did not enjoy the stay. The staff were plesent and helpful.

The staff were kind and helpful. The room was nice for a short stay. If I would have been staying longer than a weekend I probably would have looked somewhere else. Not a bad place tho.

They need to do a remodel. Mattress felt like coils were right under the surface of mattress. My door looked like someone try to use a crowbar to get in the room. Metal door frame near lock was mangled, and dented, rusty. Gave me concerns that they had a safety issue in the past.

The stay was awesome. In room 233 the bathroom door would jam shut and the diverter spout on the tub faucet was extremely hard to operate, but everything else was top tier. The associates working were very hospitable and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

We had a great stay at Courtyard by Marriot. Tim was very accomodating and friendly. He even discounted our stay since we arrived so late. Will definitely stay again.

Great staff, friendly and went the extra mile. The only negative was the beds, they were very firm.

And it was not just with us, we watched her interaction with other visitors as well. Other that I have no complaints.

uncomfortable bed, didn''t leave cups for coffee in room and had to pay for coffee in lobby area.gave us a room that was occupied guy was taking a shower when we opened the door.will not go back to a Marriott hotel again

I came from Fl to work and I need a place to stay, made the reservation and everything was on point. Staffing, rooms, cleaning, comfortable and the food/ drinks at the lobby was amazing.

I have been to this location for past ten years every quarter for business. This was first time I have questioned condition of hotel property and qualified staffing. The room I stayed in was concerning as the shower had meldew and grout on floor in poor condition. The evening staff who checked me in had difficulty with system and incorrectly logged the incidental charge as cash throwing off morning staff checking me out. The bistro in evening has run out of varies items by 8pm that reduced my options down to two wings or salad. Very disappointed and hopeful will improve. Sincerely Yvette Herrera-Rich
