La Quinta by Wyndham San Antonio Airport

Room was fine. Breakfast was okay. Called for airport shuttle after getting my luggage and waited 25 minutes before calling again to find out that hotel had not sent the driver when I originally called. Also when I called day before travel, hotel told me that my reservation was cancelled. They gave me a # to call Expedia but it wasn’t the customer service number that I had for Expedia. I called Expedia using their official customer service number, and Expedia straightened it out - that I had a confirmed reservation. Swimming pool water was brown w lots of leaves and other organic matter in it. Hot tub water was clean but timer for the jets would only work for about one minute. Hotel has sign in lobby that they are working to remodel the hotel. Gave an average rating as you get what you pay for . . . the remodel and some areas needing more maintenance help to explain the lower rates.

No shampoo or body wash in the bathroom. Clerk said we’d have to go to front desk and ask for some. They should’ve informed us during check in and provided the items so that we wouldn’t have to go back down. One of the elevator floors had a large crack in it. Dangerous to guests.

Property did not have working dryer. Also they do not have a business center with computers or printers. Both of these were key to booking this hotel.

Tip: call the airport shuttle after 15 min to ensure it was dispatched. Other than that, would definitely stay here again. Quiet area at night, which I prefer.

Room had minor issues. Bathroom vent fan didn't work. Hallways were dirty. Sign at counter stated they do not clean everyday. Air conditioning vents in eating area downstairs had black mold on them and around them on the ceiling. Pool and hot tub out of service. Single elevator door would stick closed on each floor. None of these issues were on websites.

Breakfast good, Service good. Elevator needs some work interior. One worker got stuck in Elevator for 2 hours when I checked in. Need to put two trash cans in the rooms.

Good conditions. The gym is too small, I do recommend to update their elliptical and treadmills. One of them was not working, only one bench to workout with dumbbells. Other than that it is a good place to stay.

This use to be a nice hotel, but it has become worn and run down. The elevator floors need replacing, the walls need new paint, & the carpets need a good cleaning or replacing. Housekeeping needs to check the level of the shampoo and body wash. In our room, both were empty! It is convenient to the airport and restaurants. They offer airport shuttles. We probably will look elsewhere to stay the next time we are in SA.

Fine for a one night La Quinta stay before an early morning flight. Right price, shuttle, clean enough and polite staff. It was a bit noisy at night with kids running through the halls and people talking loudly but that’s to be expected with motels that have thin walls. We went down to the pool to sit but the pool looked a bit murky so we didn’t get in. The 2 families of kids that showed up shortly seemed to enjoy it though.

I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with the condition of the hotel room I was provided during my recent stay. Upon entering the bathroom, I was shocked and disgusted to find pubic hair on the bar of soap, in the shower, and on the toilet seat. The room was clearly not cleaned or inspected before our arrival. This level of filth is absolutely unacceptable and entirely unsanitary. I immediately informed the front desk and provided photographic evidence. While the staff acknowledged the issue, I was told they could not issue a refund because the reservation was made through a third party (Hotels.com). I was instructed to contact you directly and that you would reach out to the hotel for resolution. To be clear, I have never experienced such a horrifying situation in any hotel. This was not a minor inconvenience—it was a serious health and safety concern. I am requesting a full refund for this stay. I trusted that basic hygiene standards would be met, and that trust was completely violated. Please confirm that you will be contacting the hotel and processing my refund immediately.

Place smelled like chemicals. Loud noises all night. Door had huge light gaps so all hall traffic was heard. Worst la Quinta I have ever stayed in, couldn’t sleep. Horrible

I've stayed here a few times, and I don't think I'll stay again. It is very noisy and people are talking in the hallway all night, I couldn't sleep. The hotel is dirty and has a very bad breakfast ( like most La Quinta).

Upon arriving it wasn’t bad until I got to the elevators and noticed they were dirty. When we got to our floor I also saw the wallpaper was falling off the walls and was being held on with painters tape. After getting to the room, it seemed outdated, the TV remote was sticky and found a hair in the bed. The bathroom door was broken off its hinge a little bit and it was scraping the ground also making it hard to open and close the door. The towel hanger had also broken off the wall after putting a towel on it. It was the cheapest hotel I could find being on a budget but I’d at least expect it to not be falling apart. Definitely would not come back. The area didn’t feel safe either.

Our room reeked of mold and mildew and we found the AC unit to be the culprit, leaking into the carpet. It was not a mild smell that might only bother some, it was choking and the air was thick. We were provided another room and the furniture was stained and utterly disgusting. I do not normally complain, I am a frequent traveler and a pretty easy going guest. All properties have an issue here and there and generally most staff try their best. Additionally, it was severely overpriced (triple what it should have been) due to a local event, and we were never offered any consolidation from management. I will never return and recommend that you stay away if you like clean and friendly accommodations.

Stayed on my way to San Antonio and another night on my way out. Overall, the employees are friendly, no issue with that, just a dirty hotel and room, and very noisy, had a bad stay both nights. The price is reasonable, but I will pay more to stay in a better hotel where I can sleep.

The door wouldn’t close properly, and the entire setup felt outdated. The restroom lacked drawers, which was quite inconvenient. I can't tell if renovations are in progress, but we had to prop a chair in front of the door just to keep it secure. Room 646

My stay at La Quinta was decent overall. The room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel is in a good location and our room was pretty clean. But the outside and interior of the hotel is not that great. It looks a bit run down and not like the pictures. This Wyndham is very different from the ones of I’ve stayed at before.

The room was tastefully remodeled and very pleasant! The people were wonderful as well. Everything was clean and tidy except the light switch in the bathroom-it had a brown smudgy splash on it like it hadn’t been cleaned. Also, the bed was comfy but the pillows were crunchy and not real comfortable. The room was facing the highway so there was a constant hum of traffic, but it was more white noise than annoying. Aside from those two minor things, lovely property!

It was a nice stay. It was full but still quiet where I was. It's an older large hotel. It took several turns to get to my room. The problem with that. This is an old building. The stairs for an emergency exit was on the other side. The only exit plan if you can't remember the turns would be the windows in your room. That was my biggest concern. Great location.

My sister had spoken with La Quinta reservation services the day before I arrived for my daughter-in-law's funeral and the reservation customer service had arranged for an hour early check in for me which was very kind however when I arrived to the hotel, the room wasn't available and the front desk was very rude stating I was not telling the truth about speaking to anyone and it wasn't documented in notes. I had an email with the notes documented. Then I was told they didn't have daily housekeeping so rooms were not cleaned. I was already distraught due to the nature of my visit and checked in later that evening. The room was dirty which I should've moved hotels but it was late. The TV was not working as I was trying to relax and I called the front desk as I didn't have a remote in the room and I was accused of losing it then a cop knocked on my door...a COP to deliver a new remote. This hotel suppose to be in a good area and good reviews but my experience was horrible. I will not recommend this hotel.

The San Antonio La Quinta is about a mile from the airport. The first time I called requesting the shuttle, I was told driver was already en route to airport w/ a drop off and should be just a few minutes. Didn't arrive. I called a total of 3 times, wait time 45 min. Driver did not present a good first impression for hotel. Arrived at hotel; woman checking me in was defensive rather than apologetic re MIA shuttle. However the gentleman at other check-in area was helpful and professional. Lobby, halls and elevator were filthy. Room was clean. However I checked out first thing the next morning due to the filthy overall environment along with shuttle driver and front desk first contacts. The hotel does offer a complimentary breakfast, but who would want to eat in an environment that is so filthy? Woman who checked me out in the morning was very pleasant and professional.

The front desk was understaffed and very slow in their processing of check-ins. The property is old and there was a lot of plaster dust all over the hallway carpet as if the hallways had not been vacuumed in a while. The shuttle service to the airport seemed a little unorganized to the point that I took an Uber. Though old, my room was clean and it was fairly quiet during the night.

The hotel staff was amazing. On our second day, we had no hot water. The staff immediately changed our room and provided an upgrade. The continental breakfast was nice, the decaf coffee could have been better, too weak. They have a shuttle service that will take you where you want to go within a 2-mile radius, which was greatly appreciated, since our car rental died on us the second day too! Although our 4 night stay didn’t go as planned, the hotel staff made it so much better, and they did everything they could, to make things better for us! Highly recommend, and will stay there again!

Room was clean, checkin in was simple, amenities were as listed and the staff was very pleasant! All boxes checked!!! Would definitely stay again.

All around it was not so bad . The only thing that really did not make it a great experience was that the young lady that was working the desk was not helpful at all. I showed up at 5 to get my keys she said she could not locate my reservation. I showed her the statements and confirmation of my hotel. She told me to step to the side because she could not find it. She still processed to help other people with out trying to help me out.. It took a man that was in the back to come help me and find out what happen. He looked in to another system and located the info. I would of been very upsets if he would of never came to the rescue. The young lady just seems like a very sloppy worker.

I had to wait 45 minutes for airport pick up. The driver said she was at the hotel and they have walkie talkies. I had to phone twice to ask what was going on

very convenient to uber into downtown San Antonio. The room was very comfortable and quiet even though it was final four weekend. The motel shuttle was great. Provided P/U and drop-off at the airport plus transport to and from nearby restaurants and shopping. Great service by drivers. Check-in and out was a breeze and desk staff was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was also very good.

The property itself is great but there was a lot of homeless people around the area and that’s not their fault. It’s a great location right next to the airport and the North Star mall. The pool isn’t that big but it’s nice and relaxing

The area that this hotel is located around is actually a nice quiet area. I was expecting it to be louder and busier due to the fact it was near the airport and on 410, but it was the opposite. Shopping was within walking area, or a short drive. Restaurants, mall, shopping centers... all just around the corner. Two thumbs up!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The cleanliness was good (not great - I found a bottle cap that was not ours on our second night. It was on the floor near the bed). We only got one washcloth - for 3 adults! The shower was great! I understand that they don't clean the room every day, but the trash cans (2) were small and it would be nice if they were emptied daily. The room was pretty and the breakfast was good. We would stay again.

Easy access, good price, good breakfast

I recently stayed at La Quinta for three nights, and while there were some positives, the overall experience was disappointing. The check-in process was very quick since I had filled out the online form beforehand. I would recommend completing the online check-in to make the process smoother. However, the room itself left much to be desired. While somewhat clean, it was clear that the hotel is old. Parts of the ceiling were chipping away, and there were concerning brown stains in the bathroom. The air conditioning worked but had an annoying habit of turning off and on every few minutes, making a noise that became bothersome after a while. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the sheets were adequate. I didn’t use the hotel’s amenities like the pool, gym, or Wi-Fi. I chose not to use the Wi-Fi since it was open and unsecured, which I don’t recommend for anyone concerned about privacy. We attempted to try the complimentary breakfast on Saturday, but it was too crowded with a long line, so we had to skip it. The room itself was quiet, aside from the AC, and we didn’t encounter any noise issues from other guests, which was a relief. The location is definitely a plus if you’re flying in or out, as it’s conveniently located just across the freeway from the airport. However, despite being budget-friendly at $100 per night, I still found the price high for the quality of the hotel and overall experience. Very friendly. Noise from other rooms, could hear alarm bell from other rooms. Very simple breakfast- all plastic cuttlery.

The property was clean, staff was friendly. My only complaint was my matress was uncomfortably hard. Breakfast was a hot continental with scrambled eggs and sausage. Everything at breakfast was good!

Got a good night's rest, staff was very helpful. Breakfast was 2.5 out of 5 -- limited selection, but tasty nevertheless. Hotel shuttle from / to the airport was reliable and both drivers were very courteous.
