Nice pool

The indoor pool was not heated during our stay. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming even when several guests were checking in at the same time and taking several phone calls.

Everything we needed. Very clean. Pool was large and clean.

Stayed for convenience of airport shuttle with two young grandkids. Unfortunately the shuttle didn’t start early enough. Had to take Uber

Second stay here. Always pleasant and efficient staff, spacious rooms, clean, good housekeeping, easy parking. Only downside, one family member really needed the gully but was disappointed with mostly free weights and one weight machine broken.

The room was clean but the service was poor. The exercise room was terrible and old. The pool was broken and not usable. The breakfast ended to early.

We live in Newport News and booked a 2 day stay for pool use! When we got there the front desk personnel told us that they were having issues with the pool temperature of being cold for 5 days already and their website is still offering the pool amenities and she said she got a lot of complaints already from customers about the pool being too cold! My point is they should have removed the pool amenity as part of their hotel services so NOT to give customers a false information and are hesitant to give a refund so we can find another hotel to stay in where there is a functional heated swimming pool! The other hotel (Marriot) we’ve booked prior to this had issues with the pool too but had a very good customer satisfaction and staff very considerate because it is the pool that we wish to use because it is my son’s spring break and he just wants to have fun using the pool since it was a fault on their end, they issued a refund without any hassle. I have stayed here for a couple of times but NEVER again because of poor customer satisfaction with failed offered facility!!! I live only 5minutes from here and let that staff understand that we were just there for the pool but she refused giving us consideration and had 2 expedia staff including myself a hard time for a refund. I did not get her name but she was the staff member working last 4/22/25 at 5pm. Wasted money, never again in this hotel for me, my family and friends!!!!! And hopefully most of you reading this!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡

The rooms are nice but the employees are not that great. Also, we booked this hotel to get the shuttle ride to and from the airport and they said their shuttle has been broken for 4 days so we ended up paying $30 x 2 on Uber fees

Don’t really have much we didn’t like. Minor things like one outlet beside bed didn’t work, remote only let you do up and down buttons and no pressure in shower. However the hotel was very nice. Decorated well, very clean, pool was heated and decorated good, a lot of indoor pools have strong chemical smell- this one did not. It does get really loud with acoustics if other people in there. They had easy listening music playing which was nice. Beds super comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good. I just wish they would have had bacon on of our days. When checking out my little boy 6 yr old wondered over to breakfast area as they are cleaning. A staff member Sharon came out, he got nervous and told her he was just hungry. He wasn’t… but.. she was super sweet and took him right over to get some cereal, fruit and milk. At the end she gave us both a hug which is not common these days but very refreshing. It definitely made our day. We liked that Olive Garden was right at parking lot. That made dinner after a long drive an easy option after we checked in. Overall nice comfortable stay, clean, quite and good staff. Lots of nice resturant and shopping beside it as well.

The hotel stay was nice, we checked in late Saturday night and left early Sunday morning. My only issues were the elevators did not work so we had to use the stairs. I also requested to have the two room next to each other and even called the hotel but when we arrived the rooms were on two different floors nowhere near one another.

I’ve stayed at this hotel about 8 times over the last year and a few months. This time, we checked in, I completed my cleaning as I have done in the past, and then proceeded out. We returned, completed our night time routine and then off to sleep. Around 6 am, I spotted not one but two roaches. I go down to the front desk and Ms. Cindy was there. She tried to find something to assist with the situation but there wasn’t anything. She informed me that housekeeping would take care of and she would leave a note for the manager. I couldn’t wait, so I went to the store to get roach spray and additional cleaning products. I sprayed because no one came. There were no other hotels within the area for the price or this great location. I sprayed the same night and at 5am the next morning, the roach was sitting in the middle of the bathroom floor. This is a great hotel and I hope that this is the only incident. Overall, this place has been really clean and a safe place.

Clean room but saw a german cockroach on bathroom floor. Wont stay there again.

Usually I love staying here but my last visit was not pleasant. The second I laid down I was bitten by bed bugs

Hotel has been well cared for; it really shows in the attention detail of even painting small trim pieces in the drive way. All staff and hired contractors working outside were very friendly and helpful. The whole facility is kept clean to a high standard. There are plenty of dining and shopping options around, many of which are less than a half mile walk on designated sidewalks. The average price per night during my first week of April stay was very reasonable and included a decent continental breakfast and coffee. I would definitely stay here again. The price alone compared to nearby same/similar hotels would justify it.

This property looks much nicer in pictures than it actually is. I will not return. The room was dirty (stains on bed frame, carpet stains, couch stains), the room was not cozy (soft and bright lighting which was inconsistent and not helpful for people with migraines like myself), the room did not smell clean, the hallways smelled of weed, the door keys were inconsistently working to the point I needed staff to keep coming to my room to let me in, and the elevators were not consistently working or in poor condition.

The stay was average. Hotel was located in a good location. The toilet seat moved every time we sat on it. The screen to the window was torn. The tree hid our view. We had brought some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and left them on the dresser and when we got back ants were on the dresser and in our doughnuts. It was a Birthday treat for myself. I was so upset. I suggest monthly spraying. We only ate breakfast only once. Eggs were good.

I fairly enjoyed my stay. There were bugs in the first room my Aunt reserved for two nights, but once we notified the front desk, the front desk staff apologized, then quickly moved us to another room. My Grandmother also made reservations for the same room that they moved us to for two more nights. I followed them, my aunt and grandmother, in making reservations for one more night. so, in total 5 nights were spent here. We'd definitely book here again, considering no place is perfect, not like home anyway. This party of two was fairly pleased minus the bugs in one room. Room #220, I believe.

I killed three roaches in my room. There were probably another nine that I saw that were smaller that I couldn't get to in time. I had the constant smell of someone getting very happy every morning and night. Not the hotels fault, but not pleased either way.

The check in process was very easy, the staff were very nice and accommodating. The indoor pool is a nice size. The room was spacious for my family of 6. Everything was nice. Only thing we didnt like were the ants. Good thing we had off bug spray.

The room next door had a big party and the music blasted all night. We didn’t get a wink of sleep.

The room was modern, the beds were comfortable (though small). The climate in the room however was very uncomfortable. It was very moist (with the AC on or off) and the floor felt wet; we didn't like to walk barefoot. Also the water pressure in the sink was horrible. Ended up having to use the tub spout to wash our hands. Coffee was not good and the front desk would not answer the phone, though they were very pleasant at check-in.

The positives: Room was very spacious, I loved that the mini fridge had a separate freezer compartment and very nice location convenient to hwy and restaurants and shopping. Very reasonable rates. BUT… breakfast was not that great and the older lady that does the breakfast can be pretty rude at times. Witnessed this personally and also saw her interaction with another guest. Seems like she hates her job. People smoking weed around the property and smelled it in various parts of the hotel grounds. Beds too soft for my liking.

I thought it was a new property but the bathroom was obviously not completely new. Beige toilet, grout was gross, walls were abused. There was no way to open the blinds. Had to prop them up with a lamp to get some sunlight. The hotel was not full yet they put me in a room directly next to elevator which was very loud. Could clearly hear the tv the neighbors room. Lifting up the curtains there was a lovely view of the roof.

Everything is great except I have two laptops and nether will connect to WiFi. The front desk told me they were having problems but everything was fixed. I still can’t connect. My phones connect but not my laptops

Took 4 different times and 4 different rooms before we were able to get in a room. Water pressure in the shower was badly as in hardly there at all. Hot water in the shower was barely as well and it was turned to max.

Basic-big rooms

I enjoyed the comfortable bed and the room was roomy. The bathroom was clean and water pressure was durable. The breakfast was ok and hotel is within distance of shopping and eating places. We loved our stay.

Front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. There was a problem with the room keys not working.

I wanted to give this a 5 star, but due to our check in, I can’t. We were here celebrating my son graduating BCT and heading to AIT. He was in uniform as we arrived. Immediately, as we were checking in, the front desk man, John, started taking about how the kid working with him was the hardest working immigrant he knew. We congratulated him because he truly seemed like a nice young man. John then proceeded to complain about the election and I casually said , “well as an army soldier mom, I was ok with the outcome” He looked up and said, “I wish they would ship out all these $&@* Republicans and let the illegal immigrants take their place. What a disrespectful thing to say, to even be talking about politics as we checked in. I was extremely offended and will be reaching out to Choice hotels corporate to discuss this. The rest of the entire hotel staff was so amazing Very nice accommodations but could not tell if there was blood in our carpet.

I originally planned on staying for 1 night but extended my trip for a second night. Ms. Amy at the Front Desk was so very friendly and accommodating. She provides customer service that is truly above and beyond. Such a pleasure to stay at this Comfort Suites.

The manage was very caring and friendly. She really made you feel welcome and she went out of her way to make sure our stay was great.

I have stayed at this particular hotel before and welcomed this trip just as kind as i was in the past. Ms. Amy is the best front desk woman I have EVER met! She greets everyone with the biggest smile and speaks to you when you walk out and when you come back in. Such a refreshing human being that I personally appreciate tremendously.

I had a reservation at this location because I was scheduled to attend a funeral the next day. Unfortunately, my flight was canceled. I was instructed to forward the airline cancellation email to the hotel manager, which I did. I also contacted everyone involved. I informed them that there were no other flights from my city that night or the following day. The manager requested proof of cancellation. I forwarded the email to two different accounts I received. When I called to discuss the refund, the manager did not answer. I have left my phone number at this location to be called back. I did not receive a call. I am hoping that this matter can be resolved.

We checked in pretty late and the receptionist was great, welcomed us and even helped us get into our room as i somehow forgot how to use the key lol. We had breakfast every morning, but i have to say the lady working the breakfast area has to be the rudest unwelcomed morning person to greet and help guests first thing in the morning. If you're not a morning person then you shouldn't be in a position that requires you to be up and help patrons in the "morning". One morning my wife and got our breakfast while there wasn't anyone there yet...i used the waffle irons to heat and toast the French toast vs the toaster, not a big deal, and since no one was there for 2 minutes i used both to quickly to the job, but only to be scolded like one of her kids telling me that's not what they're used for and I need to use the toaster and I'm taking up the irons for other people to use.... mind you we were the only ones there getting breakfast??!!! She caught me off guard by that and i replied, well it's a good thing no one else is here and I kinda like them this way. We also witnessed while we were sitting down finishing our breakfast on another morning, several patrons had all filled the breakfast area getting their items, but instead of allowing the customers to grab their own milk etc she decided it was the best time to restock an already full refrigerator of those items at the same time, giving those customers the rude look as if they're in her way. No professionalism!

Very clean and the beds were comfortable. There are lots of restaurants and shoppers nearby. It has easy access to highways.

Very convenient area. Great places to eat very close by. Not far from beach or military base. Overall it was a nice hotel, breakfast was included. Comfy beds. Indoor pool. Small airport close by too ☺️

Great location for everything in Newport and close to Williamsburg.

I really enjoy staying at the Comfort Suites (this was my second time there) for concerts at Hampton Coliseum. The location is great with easy access to all kinds of restaurants and shopping, and it’s an easy 20-25 minute drive to the Coliseum. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the hotel staff is very nice. It’s also very convenient to fly in and out of Newport News airport.

We were immediately welcomed by the cheerful front desk person, Amy. She was kind and even gave us water when she saw how hot were not being used to the heat/humidity. The room was clean and nice. Unfortunately, breakfast was less than desired. The waffles were sour. They were supposed to be cinnamon flavored so I thought maybe they were sour apple??? I decided to get some cereal instead. When I poured the milk onto my cereal it was chunky. I was done with breakfast.

This was a great hotel option for us while attending a track event. It was convenient with lots of shopping and dining options. The room was clean and staff were friendly. Only improvement would be the breakfast options. I would love to see some more fruit, a scrambled egg option, and some already cooked oatmeal with toppings. Otherwise, we loved our stay.

Overall great stay, room was clean and comfortable.The only downside was the breakfast. Few options and the ones available were tasteless.

The property was clean and all the staff was helpful and polite. Breakfast was good but could be upgraded a little more. Waffles were great. Eggs not so much too runny. No real fruit options.

Lousy and old possibly spoiled food for breakfast

We enjoyed our night’s stay at this property and felt safe. However, the door to room 312 was not tightened properly. We used the upper latch to help secure it even more. Hot breakfast was decent, typical continental style…eggs, sausage, waffles, bread to toast, packets of hot cereal, cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc. No complaints. The attendant was kind and friendly. Overall, we would return to the property. It’s accessible to nearby restaurants, shops, and the Newport News/Williamsburg Airport.

I was disappointed in the breakfast. There were no eggs, meats, and so everyone was standing in line to make a waffle. I ended up eating a piece of rye bread. The breakfast was the reason I booked a room there. My room was very clean and the desk person was very nice.
