Initial room had a bed that was broken and the staff worked with us to find us a different room. Very accommodating. The parking was free for self parking and conveniently located beside the hotel.

Nice spacious room. Good location & close to a variety of shoppes and reservation. One issue is that the maintenance workers were unable to light the fire pit which was a huge disappointment for us.

First off, I paid about $150 more per night because this hotel advertised free EV charging. The only EVs accommodated were Teslas. No other charger type was installed. They sent me to the free garage near the theaters. It, also, only accommodated Teslas. Next, the handicapped parking is nicely close, but it is re-labeled as Marriott premium customer parking. While we’re discussing accessibility, the outer doors are manual, and the room doors block chair and walker use. I don’t need too much accommodation, but I asked for a shower with a seat. The disability chair they put in the shower almost completely blocked my entry. It was way too big. And, for some reason, both sink taps delivered hot water. When I ran it a bit that got better, so maybe it’s an overly long supply pipe. Staff was polite, but I can’t get past paying way too much for a hotel with chargers that are misrepresented.

The bed was less than subpar, the shower had a leak in it, and they’ve got some ridiculous policy where I have to go all the way back out to the garage to put a tag in my car so they don’t tow it. Rather than just having reserved parking for the ho city, one doesn’t like going back out into areas weather.

My daughter and I travel during Mothers day weekend each year and I decided we go to Newport News VA instead of Virginia Beach! I am so glad we did. This is a quaint little place that we enjoyed. The fountain view from our room at the hotel was a blessing. The staff, especially Alexandria, were amazingly pleasant and helpful. We could not get in the pool that was advertised due to the unclean condition it was in. Overall, I loved the Living Museum, the restaurants, hotel breakfast was so so good and will bring my husband there for a short train visit. The first 25 spaces are reserved for "Valet" and when I asked for my car to be valeted, the desk clerk said "We don't valet." It felt unsafe to be walking deep into the the parking garage for items needed from the car. An employee at the hotel entrance just said "Hello" and didn't open the door for two older women struggling with bags and poorly maintained baggage cart. The cleaning staff was on our floor for hours with large trash bags and towels littering the hall. Each time we needed ice or vending machines they were lined up and down our hall obtrusively talking and working-It seemed the only floor with guests was our floor. Usually cleaning staff should be done by 4pm when we were checking in but they worked for hours before and after.

My stay was very pleasant and quiet. However, I wasn’t aware that they charge for parking. They gave me a parking pass and I checked in and parked my own car. I was charged $6 for parking. I was not aware nor told that I would be charged for parking

Our first room 538 had bed bugs and stained sheets so we were moved to room 520 which didn't fair much better with stained sheets again, paint on the comforter and a giant stain on the mattress visible through the sheets. We had new linen brought up and changed the beds ourselves because it was after midnight by this time and we were tired of the shenanigans.

The room is big the staff was wonderful Very safe area. Very clean area. The view beautiful. The tub had rust. The heater made loud banging sound the whole time I just turned the heat off at times. The decor is out dated.

My top priority for staying at a hotel is cleanliness. The room was very clean. The front desk workers were very helpful and polite. My son goes to CNU so we travel to the area often. This is our first time at this hotel and we will definitely be back. We will be staying here again.

I recently stayed in the area for three days for work. The location is good, very close to restaurants, shopping and the highway. The hotel was very clean. The staff was amazing. The food in the hotel is not great, but lots of options in the immediate area.

The staff was outstanding. The furniture is old and the room had a musty smell upon arrival. The carpet has stains and is dirty. No towels were available the last night of our stay.

The room had someone else’s food in there, there were holes in the wall, torn bed skirt, hairs in our towels, lamp shade busted like there had been a fight… I was so happy to check out and get to my next hotel room. Marriott knows better for that price to give a subpar and unclean room.

I had stayed at this property many times and never had a problem but this stay was different. We checked in at 630 and were assigned to a room. When we went to the room, it wasn't ready and the housekeeping team was quite rude when we asked how long it would be. We went back to the desk and got another room assignment. This room also was not ready but we waited a few minutes for them to finish. Once we settled in and were changing clothes, the housekeeping supervisor walked in on us without knocking! That night I had the worst night's sleep as the mattress was sagging and uncomfortable; my back hurt for the next two days. I had stayed there multiple times before and generally like Marriott. My daughter goes to college in the area so I stay overnight often, but I doubt I will stay there again. So sad.

Overall it was very nice the only issue was a check in my card was charged 995 in addition to the expedia booking amount . The young lady assisting us caught the mistake right away and I assured her it was fine accidents happen but everytime i asked the total charge in error she would not disclose the amount to me ! I had to actually pull up my credit card statment to find out how much it was . I am still waiting for the processing reversal to occur .I just wish that when i intially asked what happend and the amount she would have been clear and transparent with me . Other than that was a great experience

The stuff of this hotel is the rudest I ever met. My husband, who is an older man and veteran was not able to get in the room because the room was on my name. My flight was delayed and I just simply could not get to the hotel. My husband was driving from a different city. He begged them to call me, I was trying to call hotel and all for nothing. Management just simply refused to let him in. Eventually he just got another room. Not one person wanted to help. That stuff just had zero comment sense!!!!!

We picked this hotel because of the convenience to what were doing. It was only my husband and I, we booked a King bed, however, we were given a double, the hotel said that ALL of the King beds were under maintenance. I was annoyed however, we were given complimentary breakfast Moving on, A special shoutout to Taylor G. who was there to park and retrieve our car, he returned my cell phone to my room, after I thought I had misplaced it. That was very kind of him to do so.

So, looking for affordable, clean, most excellent location with a gigantic fountain right outside and movie theater, cafe (amazing coffee), and some great dining…this is a keeper on our list of place WE ONLY STAY AT. Easy parking and just excellent all around. Did not eat at the hotel, so can not say much there. Room, shower, view, bed were all amazing. Thank you
