Travelodge by Wyndham Seattle By The Space Needle

This is our go to hotel for Seattle. Fairly basic no frills hotel but good location. Walking distance to the Space Needle (we do Base 2 Space every year). Room was clean, beds are comfy. Parking is not free but you can also try street parking as an option.

The pool is awesome. The bed not so comfortable. The amenities in the room are good.

Bed too stiff, the hot tub was dirty and smelly and hasn’t been cleaned. A/C couldn’t keep up with heat due to 1 pane windows and being an much too old building to keep utilizing.

Hotel is beyond the point where a remodel would even make sense. There are fairly steep ramps between building sections and the exterior hallways have a visible slant. Lobby is fine, but beyond that the place gives the impression of being patched together. There are extension cords running along ceilings in the halls and suspect looking lighting. One of the two elevators was inoperable during the 4 days we stayed here and the other was down for about a day and half total across the days. Our room did not anything but hot water the first night so we could not shower. Counter employee did not seem surprised and maintenance did come and "fix" the problem, but this turned out to be only partially successful. Reported the issue again on the third day and was told maintenance was currently working on it. When I called later, I was first told they had no record of the request and then that maintenance wasn't on site that day so we were finally moved to another room for the last night of our stay. The water and shower were much better in the new room, but I had some issue with finding enough working power outlets. Overall, I would not recommend beyond that it was convenient walking distance to the Space Needle and the Arena.

The listing advertised that laundry facilities were included, and this was a key consideration in my booking choice. Staff told me that there was NO LAUNDRY available and I would have to drive to a laundry place 15 minutes away.

We checked in for a 2 day stay. Reserved a 2 queen room. When I checked in they tried to put us on the 3 rd floor and the elevator was broken. My husband has an electric scooter he has to use and that wouldn’t work. So they gave us a room on the 1st floor which I appreciated. It was a 2 double bed room and it was very small. We did receive a refund for the room change but I really would have rather had the bigger room. His chair didn’t fit through the door we had to take his chair apart to get it in the room and because of that he didn’t leave the room until we checked out. The shower door had mold near the hinged side of door and the door didn’t close. Water pressure was terrible

The room was pretty basic, but everything appeared clean and in order. Beds were pretty comfortable and the shower worked excellent. Breakfast was kind of a joke. A paper bag with an orange, granola bar, and a really awful packaged pastry. They had a very small pool which we hung out by, but didn’t go in, and they had a hot tub, which I did use for a short session and really enjoyed.

Did the reservation say that parking was available. It is available and it's $20/night Otherwise a nice stay. I'm a repeat.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is a little dated but located pretty centrally (in my opinion). We did have a break-in to our vehicle, the back passenger window was smashed, while staying here so I would be weary of leaving a vehicle here (we were parked in the lot in front of the building when it happened)… Especially since the staff did not seemed surprised by this at all

Rundown and dirty, ice cold room to start, walls are paper thin. Hot tub is seasonal though not advertised as such, front desk staff wearing headphones while working. Wifi didn’t work in room, one lamp didn’t work. Overall stay away- there are better in the areaZ

Moldy shower stall floor. Coffee maker didn't work, USB ports non functioning. Bed was comfortable and the best thing about the room.

My family and I were shocked to see how old and rundown it was. Crack in our window, no screens, bathroom was old and dingy, missing hardware in the shower, walls stained and dirty-looking. Water temperature and water pressure in shower constantly fluctuated from hot to cold, a decent stream to very low stream of water. We all just couldn't wait to get out of there and be in a newer decent environment to be honest. I'm just really disappointed. I thought I had more photos but not seeing them now. I was disappointed with this stay. The hotel was rated as “Good” (7/10) on Hotels.com, but the reality was very different. The property is old, dark, and poorly lit. The cleanliness was below expectations, and the overall atmosphere felt worn down and uninviting. Most concerning was that the hotel looked nothing like the pictures shown on Hotels.com. The photos were bright, modern, and welcoming, but the actual condition of the rooms and common areas told a very different story. I don’t think the current rating or photos accurately reflect the true condition of this hotel.

If it wasn’t so expensive we would have immediately walked out and found a new hotel to stay in. There was fresh “gunk” on the bed skirt upon check-in, TONS of stains of the curtains, and the whole room felt disgusting. I had to ask multiple times to have the bed skirt changed and they ultimately just removed it. The pool was usable which was nice, and the area was super walkable to restaurants and things to do.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my stay here was disappointing. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and creaked loudly with every movement, making it very difficult to sleep. The bathroom was concerning — there was rust on the shower head and what appeared to be blood on the wall, which made the space feel unhygienic. To make matters worse, the desk outlet didn’t work, so we had to plug the coffee maker into the bathroom outlet just to use it. These kinds of basic maintenance and cleanliness issues are unacceptable at any price point. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel until major improvements are made. I would like to upload a photo but the app is not allowing me to do so.

This hotel was average it was a bit outdated. The AC was having a hard time keeping up and the hallway seemed to have fans drying the carpet probably due a water leak. It had an old musty smell and the shower stall was super tiny. It was perfect for a quick night stay during our roadtrip and was located close to the Space Needle.

Close to venues I wanted to see. Decent price. No complimentary breakfast. Rooms were not completely cleaned ( dusty lamps, windows old, heater / ac unit dirty filter, etc…)

Our hotel room was absolutely disgusting. The shower was filled with mold. The wallpaper was peeling off. Dried mysterious liquid was on the walls. There also was a USED BANDAID still on the carpet! Despite the great location, it was so gross. I also acquired many bug bites during the trip so I’m concerned about bed bugs. One of the beds in the room was alright but the other completely con-caved in the middle and was obviously broken, extremely uncomfortable. The bath towels also were tattered and had holes. The lack of cleanliness was so disgusting, I’d never stay here again.

Walking distance to iconic Seattle Attractions. Pool is warm and outdoors. Pictures provided are misleading in size. Breakfast was to go bags. Very outdated room. Beds were comfortable and staff friendly and accommodating.

Convenient location to all sites, all within walking distance: Space Needle, Pop Culture Museum, Pike Place Market. The only downside was the low water pressure in the shower and the scalding hot water from the sink. There was no cold water.

Pretty basic hotel, not worth the price per night. I had the most horrifying shower of my life, no water pressure, and what little I had was constantly switching between scalding and freezing in the tile box of a shower where the frosted glass door didn’t latch closed. The mattress cover crunched under the sheets like a sheet of plastic.

I think this is a 'get what you pay for' scenario. The staff didn't seem to care if we were there or not, the room was creaky and noisy (though clean), and there are lots of repairs to fans, vents, doors (the bathroom door wouldn't fully close) that look like they've been patched but not repaired. Affordable for Seattle though.

Run down in an enjoyable way, if you're into urban decay and liminal spaces, or GenX and nostalgic for the hotels of your youth. I got a "built in the seventies, redecorated in the nineties" vibe, and it doesn't look like it's been touched since. The faded gold-plastic framed Picasso reprints everywhere date the property hilariously. It's saggy and creaky and weird and kind of fun, with surprisingly great beds! Sadly, if you're not on the top floor, there will be no sleep for you here. This is beyond hearing a stray step or thump. I could actually hear talking from upstairs, every step they took all night long, and many many other fun things! Yikes! I can only imagine that whatever insulation existent in the 70s is long gone, you can just hear every single thing from all sides, it's intense at night. Worse than any cheap motel I've ever visited and totally unexpected for what feels like a solid building. Crazily, the room doors are on pneumatic hinges that slam the doors shut incredibly hard, and these doors are heavy, we're talking the seventies here! So you'll hear that slamming all night long as well. This is an anything-but-sleep hotel, or for those who can zone out anything. But if you need rest, like I did, staying here will just piss you off. It's a shame, for it's mildewy charm. I'm sure it'll be razed and replaced with a high rise in a matter of 2-5 years, so catch it while you can if that's your thing!

Bed was comfortable. I had a lot of videos I was uploading and the WiFi speed was excellent.

Hot water took 10-12 minutes to get hot in the shower. Air conditioning unit noisy and made rattle sounds.

The shower is 2 feet by 2 feet. The faucet takes several minutes to get hot water, and the toilet regularly clogged. When using the remote, the televison takes a few seconds to show the channel. The heater works well, but it is noisy. I could hear the people in the room sharing my wall. Otherwise, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The daily housekeeping staff did a great job in keeping my room clean.

The good: Walking distance to space needle and pike place market (and everything in between) Staff was pleasant enough. The bad: Janky Light switch by the door does nothing so if you arrive back in the dark you have to walk across the room to turn on a light. No hot water (or water pressure) in the bathroom sink. Nozzle is too close to the sink itself so you can’t fit your hands all the way under the water stream. Crappy water pressure in the shower, but at least it gets warm… Wifi sucks. You have to sign in, and then sign in again every time you return to the room. But I ended up just using my international data because the wifi sucked anyways. Bathroom fan incredibly loud and doesn’t do its job. Grime/ possible mold around the bathroom caulking. Single pane (cracked) windows, they open but there’s no screen. Cement windowsill cracking/peeling etc. Annoying you have to pay almost $20 a night for parking. Fridge wasn’t on (because of some switch somewhere that no one told us about) so our $30 pike place salmon sat at room temperature all night. Luckily front desk waived my parking fee quite easily for the inconvenience, but we ended up losing out on our salmon because we didn’t have time to go back. All things considered, I’d still probably go back and stay here if I needed to be in Seattle but I don’t have incredibly high standards anyways. If you do, I’d suggest elsewhere.

Desk clerk overnight absolutely ruined this trip for us. Refused to give one member of our party who was arriving on a delayed flight a room key that was left for her on reception by another guest. Said she wasn't registered on the room, but the previous clerk had allowed a key to be left. Either a complete failure to communicate by staff or he was just being unbearably difficult. Left her in tears in the hotel lobby at 1.30am refusing to give her the key that was left under her name. Refused to talk to the travel agent on the phone, despite having booking reference, card numbers etc. Just a truly awful experience. Thankfully another member of the touring party woke up and let her in, but she was so upset it completely ruined the trip and she couldn't sleep. Terrible service.

the staff were super nice to me and my bf, we went down to to lobby A LOT and they were always nice and polite

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, mostly because I’ve never had to but this hotel is absolutely not somewhere I would recommend. The reception staff in the day were great and the sheets were clean but that’s about as good as it gets. The girl who checked us in on the first night was so rude and unwelcoming, I have never known anything like it. Our rooms were so gross I didn’t want my feet to touch the floor. Patched up and dangerous electrics which didn’t work. Everything was so old, no amount of cleaning is going to work. Yes this hotel is close to some of the main sites but really it should be condem

Although the hotel is in need of TLC in several areas, like carpet cleaning, etc., the location was convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location and very helpful staff

The front desk agents were fantastic. Kristin (sorry if misspelled) was so helpful, as was the gentleman on the afternoon shift. Price was high, but that's Seattle for you.

We have stayed there multiple times before, and their service personnel are always excellent. Even when I needed assistance at 2 AM, their registration desk Staff were very helpful, cheerful, and friendly! It is almost a "home away from home."Also, very good value.

Our stay at the Travelodge was great. The staff were amazing. One of the Afternoon front desk staff members gave us wonderful recommendations for dinners. He did a fantastic job I wish we got his name so that I could name drop. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job. They were very respectful and friendly. I think that we would stay here again.

Breakfast offering was muffins, granola bars, and coffee. Location was good. Walked to SpaceNeedle(overpriced). Walked to Pike's Place Market although it is a little far. Encounted homeless people on the way there, but did not bother us.

This place is right near the space needle. Perfect location to walk to all the local sites and points of interest.

Clean and comfortable room. Fresh towels in the bathroom. Within walking distance to Space Needle and Seattle Center.

Great location for restaurants and bars near the Space Needle.

The place was good and its close to the space needle too. Just be careful of where you park your car, we saw 2 cras broken into.

the staff didnt smile nor looked happy with their job checking me in- a mark of a true 3 star property lol. but they were helpful and nice enough and the price is cheap enough for seattle while having free parking and being close to attractions like the space needle. their parking lot is on the small side though so pray hard you always get back with s free space available. the distance to the space needle and pike market was like less than 10mins or somethng and we can actually see the space needle from the hallway we had to take to get to our room which was very nice seeing every night. the lot in front is vacant so a little dark at night and the surrounding bldgs seem ndustrial so encountering other meandering tourists is on the rare side and a place i would not venture at night on my own. theres also no stores like 7/11 nearby so walking "around' seem pointless. the rooms are a little outdated but clean and our beds (2 queens) are very comfortable with thick mattresses and fluffy, clean white comforters.

The hotel was clean and the staff was kind. The area near the hotel had a lot of questionable activity happening at night. The night staff was attentive and the main lobby doors were locked. We liked the proximity to downtown activities for day time.

Love this place for New Years in Seattle. Super walkable, on site parking included and to go snack bags on the way out. Great staff and super convenient as only 1&1/2 blocks from Space Needle.

Very clean, very helpful and friendly staff, it is an older hotel but they have made it awesome with a fountain and sitting area in the front, complimentary coffee and a breakfast bag. It was quiet and we slept great. Walking distance to all we wanted to do in the city- Pike Market, Space Needle, and a sunset cruise. We highly recommend Petra Mediterranean restaurant. Huge delicious portions great for sharing! We would LOvE to come back.

Affordable in town hotel. Had to walk a couple of blocks to a restaurant. I felt safe in this area. A tad noisy for me. Heard guests above me and housekeeping in the morning. I was impressed with the bags of bottle water, granola bar, chocolate croissant and fresh orange they provided when we checked out.

Under the sink don't look good, hot water, no breakfast, only coffee and water, room is ok. Near space needle.

Convenient to the Space Needle and a Walgreens. McDonalds for breakfast was only 3 blocks away. The hotel was a little dated but clean. Great coffee!!

This property was very conveniently located within walking distance of the Space Needle. The breakfast was a little disappointing (sack with a granola bar, chocolate pastry, orange, water bottle) considering how much we paid for each night at the hotel.

The hotel is OK. Really convenient if you’re going to the Climate Pledge Arena. Walkable distance from almost everything. Complimentary breakfast to go offered and free coffee all day.

The checkin staff, while friendly, wasn’t very helpful-knew very little even about places within easy walking distance to eat although there were several we found later. The real disappointment was the property itself. It’s pretty shabby and rundown. Very little water pressure in the shower-not enough water to take a decent shower and the hot water was spotty-sometimes there was hot water and other times there was none. The faucet in the bathroom sink was stuck and almost impossible to operate. It took sheer strength to turn water on or or off. There was no dining at the hotel; they supplied a paper bag with an orange, a bottle of water, a granola bar, and a terrible pre-wrapped pastry as “breakfast”. We booked this hotel because it was convenient to where we wanted to be and was rated as good (not excellent). We weren’t expecting anything fancy at all, but this place left a lot to be desired.
