Super 8 by Wyndham Summersville - New River National Park

Staff was friendly and helpful room was nice and clean bed was new. Parking spaces were a little tight but overall our stay was good. Breakfast was pretty much just waffles with a few other options but OK.Would stay again great value.

To start, the property description was a lie. they show this elegant building with tables for breakfast as if there going to make breakfast. They served granola bars and lies. I even inquired asking was it the same place and she preceded to say there were tables "2" very small located also in the lobby area. The hotel had no elevator so if you have a lot of luggage and/or are handicapped do not book. We were put on the 3rd floor so that was fun. The odd part was a lot of reviews has this place as excellent. Im confused as to how? idk maybe they got breakfast.

I would stay there again, but it's undergoing some renovations, there's a huge dumpster in the parking lot, a lot of construction equipment, and it's an older property. On the upside, it's very convenient, very quiet, clean and the staff is super great!

Convenient location and quite affordable. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and quite efficient. We do have some minor complaints about the property. There is not sufficient parking, we struggled to find a open parking spot our first night there. The Hot/Cold was reversed in the shower. The refrigerator was quite noisy, it made a continuous tapping noise.

The hotel is old but renovated. It looks cheap but is well maintained. We chose it because the price of hotels in Summerville are quite high compared to other locations on route. We paid the same price to stay at the holiday inn express in Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville and they were much newer, nicer hotels with bigger rooms, more services and a better breakfast. The room was on the ground floor/partial basement. There were cars parked right in front of the window so we had to immediately close the drapes. It was reasonably quiet but there was noise from the stairwell that was adjacent to the room. The fridge and microwave were not plugged in so we don’t know if they worked. The front desk erroneously charged us for the room (new staff in training) so we are still waiting for the credit to post on my Visa card ( I hope this goes through shortly as I would not want to double pay). However, the rate charged is quite a bit lower than the Expedia price. It is more in keeping with what I believe to be the price. I am now wondering if we should have skipped Expedia altogether and just walked in and booked it! Overall it was clean, the staff were pleasant the location was convenient and it met our basic needs. Definitely not somewhere we would recommend or make a point to visit again unlike some other places.

There was no elevator. It was very noisy all night. Someone or many people must have had seafood for dinner and the whole third floor reeked.

Great stay. A little weird to get in parking lot right on the road. Clean and friendly check in. Near restaurants and shopping.

I just needed a room for one night on my way to see family. Was not looking to blow my budget for a overnighter, just needed a clean pace to sleep and shower. The place is a older motel, but it seems to be kept up. The room was clean, and the bathroom was up to date. Two things I found interesting. The rooms or at least mine did not have carpet, it had LVT. That I think is a great idea in general, carpet, you just never know how clean it is. It had a large flat screen tv, with plenty of options for channels. I found the microwave to be funny, for it just had a turn knob. Have not seen those in years, but it worked great. And most important the AC worked and the bed was comfortable. Another bonus. Plenty of food options that were even walkable to. One down fall if you have problems with mobility, no elevators, so if you cant do steps, I would not recommend. I was on the first level, but still had to walk down a few stairs to get to my room. Over all I would stay again.

This is best place to stay all new rooms new beds new floors etc,

I didn’t like looking at urine splashes in the floor in front of the toilet. Grossed me out. Not sure if it just wasn’t cleaned or if your tiles are absorbent and will not clean up well.

The hotel was outdated, smelled like dog very badly and in the morning, walked outside with coffee to find what appeared to be a homeless man sitting at the picnic table, blowing his nose in his hand and wiping it on the table, smoking a cigarette with the lady that works at the desk I felt it was appalling for her not to say something to him. Definitely will not stay here again.

Staff was very nice, the room was very dirty, the pillows on both beds had a odor of sweat, pillowcases were clean but after removing the pillowcases, I found the pillows stained and yellow. the desk chair was to dirty and stained to sit on, the bathtub was in dire need of replacement and the wallpaper behind the tub was stained with something, I wiped it off and sanitized it. The place needs refurbished, its very old. would not stay again.

Very clean. Everything even though not new was well taken care of. The only thing I missed was usb ports for charging iPads, phones.

This place was gross, stains on tje sheets and the place just smelled bad. People smoking right in front of lobby doors. No brekfast section at all. Look for another place.

The property was clean and up to date. Beds were very comfortable. There's no coffee pot in the room, but coffee service is offered in the lobby.

This property was absolutely gross. Dirty smelled like mold, smoke and nastiness. Left immediately and requested a refund

Loud due to nearby highway. Depends on where your room is situated. Nothing fancy about the hotel. OK place to stay for the night while travelling.

The room was clean and comfortable. The fridge was insanely loud when running, as was the heater. There was no low setting for the fan on the heater, we had to turn it off. The lady on the front desk was friendly and helpful.

Great stay for the money. Not a lot of amenities but we just needed a restful sleep and that’s what we got without spending a fortune. Really liked the vinyl plank floors in the room.

Rooms need light switches right by door so can see when going i to room. Room was dark and hard to find a light while carrying baggage.

The lady at desk was the best. She deserves an award and raise.

The front desk staff were so kind and helpful! They really went above and beyond to assist us and help us have a pleasant stay. Room was large and clean. Good value for the price.

The smoke alarm was missing from the room. Wires had wire nuts on them hanging out of the electrical box in the ceiling deliberately removed, but not replaced. Toilet seat was broken and the bathroom facet sprayed water on the vanity counter top when turned on. Advised the front desk on departure, never heard from the manager who we were told would call us.

This is a great overnight stop. Property right off the highway with restaurants nearby. Staff are welcoming.

I dropped my keys down the drain. The lady at the front desk called a couple of people and finally got the fire department. She was very patient and helpful

Place was fine snd we walked to Applebees for dinner. Check in representative was friendly and efficient.

Your staff were the nicest and friendliest group. It’s nice to have conversations when in unfamiliar places. They were all so welcoming and quick to check on us.

Room was clean and featured a KING bed, great! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic, waffels and nutri bars but the toppings for the waffles were many/varied and the dough tasted great. Good parking and easy access from highway. Surrounded by eating places including Appleby and a Mexican restaurant

One of the best Super 8s I've stayed at. They did have a fully stocked diy waffle bar both mornings, which was awesome, imo. We will definitely be back!

Breakfast is lacking in choices. Not everybody like waffles for breakfast. Some cerals will do fine.

Used to get proper breakfast here before covid. Should not advertise breakfast provided if only coffee, apple, granola bar and juice. I reserved room via Expedia. Paid $137 CAN. After I made reservation I kept getting pop-up ads saying Summerville Super 8 only $61 US. Everytime the ad popped up it reminded me I had been cheated. Suggest you correct this - it is bad marketing.

Advertised on website for free breakfast , which at this time consisted of a granola bar , and juice and coffee , that is not breakfast in my opinion .

Restaurants within walking distance. Shower looked new. Breakfast waffle bar was yummy.

The breakfast bar had a totally decked out Belgium waffle array, with fruit toppings, sprinkles, syrup, the whole works!

Promotes free breakfast…. There was a microwave and plastic cutlery but the only food choices was an apple and a granola bar Coffee was not bad Bathroom door would not close easily and the tub was in rough shape and badly needs to be replaced
