Sunrise Motor Inn

Room was small but had everything we needed, plus always appreciate having some breakfast available. We were disappointed to find their laundry area was closing right as we arrived because we had booked this one specifically for that reason and it had taken us longer in Yellowstone than we planned. The owner/manager was kind enough to let us do a load anyway, which we really appreciated because the last place we booked for laundry had broken machines so we were getting desperate! Now we can go on with our trip!

The outside of the hotel is sketchy but the inside of the rooms were actually pretty clean and huge! We had the room with 3 queen beds and really liked that. There is not the traditional continental breakfast, they had a few little muffins and 2 different kinds of cereal. They have an outside pool that was not heated so it was too cold to swim but it was nice to sit by the pool with our family at least.

There hasnt been a pool like was advertised for 7 years

The rooms were clean, and the staff was very nice. The pool was unusable, as the filtration system was not working properly. It is a little dated, but other than that no complaints. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here the night before going to Yellowstone. Clean rooms. Quiet location. Within walking distance of downtown. The only thing that didn’t meet our expectations was there was debris in the pool.

Said there was a pool and there wasn’t

Pros- close to museum, clean, TV worked, convenient parking Cons- language barrier, pool dirty and cloudy, broken bath door, poor breakfast.

It is an older motel. It is kept up nice. We were on motorcycles and you can park directly in front of your room. The have a few tables in a courtyard with a gazebo that you can sit outside and relax. There is a second covered are that has chairs and tables with a cloth covering. The covering is torn. We sat out under that for a time but did not get very wet during a brief rain storm. Thee free breakfast is not very impressive. Overall a nice place to stay.

Room had stale smell to it and pool water was cloudy and didn't look clean.

The property is older,not perfect.. We used the laundry,only 1 washer and 1 dryer working.

Walking in the room smelt like pickles. There were some stains on the bed. The property grounds were trashed. Didn’t feel safe in back parking lot. The pool had a dead bird and feathers in it.

The room I was in 107 Had Bed Bugs!! Sleep at your own risk

The bedsheet had a blood stain and we asked for new sheets for both beds. We had to argued with the motel guy to have new sheets. Why didn’t he just give us new ones immediately. Poor breakfast.

The room appeared clean. When we arrived at 5, someone had just taken a bowel movement in the bathroom, leaving a streak and strong stench. The beds are super dusty underneath and there were stains on the cover blanket as my boys prefer to sleep with these. The breakfast options were plain white bread, 2 types of mini muffins, 2 types of cereal, brutal bagged porridge and coffee. I had to ask twice to have the milk cannisters filled such that if you plan on booking this hotel for the breakfast, there is a McDonald's nearby. Go to McDonald's! The pool has no heater and is surrounded by shade, feeling like mountain water. The 3 queen beds were nicely laid out but with exchange rate we paid about $270. We would have booked elsewhere based on breakfast and the pool. The front administration was from Albania, the female on her phone and the man just sitting, telling me that he won the lottery. Not impressed that one of them took a dump in our room prior to arrival. Plus: there were enough shampoo, conditioner and soap options for five as opposed to the standard 1 for all of us. Beds were comfortable. Room was nice can mpared to outdated exterior.

When booking the room the pictures looked like a clean room to stay in for our travel. Upon arrival and opening the door, the room had a powerful mildew/moldy smell to it that couldn’t be avoided. We opened the door, turned on the exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the A/C unit. Even tried to clean the room but the smell didn’t go away. Would not recommend staying here unless mildew/mold smell does not bother you.

The next door residents were very loud! The screen was damaged so if we opened the window for fresh air flies got in. The shower had mold on the walls.

Staff was fantastic. Room was immaculate. Toilet wobbly.

The place was awful. Our mattress had stains. The sheets had stains. The cleaning service walked in on us despite our do not disturb sign. When we went to check out the cleaning people came in and asked us for a tip in the tip envelope.

A little loud with motorcycles and car traffic, but convenient location.

Found a room with 3 beds for our large group, very convenient! Reasonably priced. Great location. Clean & accommodating. Didn’t try the breakfast, pool, etc.

The rooms are hit and miss. Obviously this type of motels are dated but the rooms vary greatly. If you are picky, perhaps ask to see the room first. Our first room was a problem. The air conditioner worked just long enough for us to leave for supper. Upon return, it was cooler outside than inside. Luckily the staff answered the phone fairly late and came right down. The staff/owner? was the only reason that I would recommend this location. I absolutely prefer a motel to the typical high rise. The Sunrise has a quite a few "high end" biker types staying there. They often sit out front in the courtyard and talk.

Wifi did not work, room was not clean, phone from room to office not functional and wasn't even plugged in, room had a terrible odor, TV kept going off, pictures of the room very decieving. I would not recommend this place to anyone, very disappointed with our stay. My advice to someone looking for lodging in this area to go elsewhere.

Nice place, rooms are small, we had 3 people and it felt cramped. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic toast and cereal. Would stay here again.

The A/C unit was not working correctly and the room was very hot all night, got little sleep.

Front desk was very helpful

There was a hand written envelope on the nightstand. Asking to tip the cleaning staff. After checking out and still loading the vehicle staff had went into the room to start cleaning and found the envelope empty, the staff was visibly upset and asked for a tip, I replied no, the room was not very clean I did not feel it was worth a tip. I have never been approached to tip cleaning staff in a motel I only stayed one night, I found it uncalled for. This is over and above being over charged for what Expedia advertised, it was supposed to be $119 US including tax and it was 119 plus tax, we checked in late and there was limited places to stay so I did not dispute amount, but felt uncomfortable after being approached for a tip

This place is an older mom-n-pop style motel. This is fine for me and my wife, I grew up at a similar place, so I like to support the small business motels. Because of a negative experience a couple of nights earlier in our trip, we called this place on the morning of the day we were to check in. There was a mis-communication between me and the manager, but when we arrived and it was discovered, he made it right. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is that there isn't anyone to check you in after 10 pm. I found this out when I called, so I'm glad I did call. We may easily have missed that check-in time if I hadn't! Don't expect a "national chain" experience from this place. It's older, but well kept up, and it has that "bygone-era" feel. If you're looking for a clean place to stop for the night at a budget price, these guys will make you happy. If you're a business person looking for "all the amenities", look elsewhere.

We stayed two nights at Sunrise Motor Inn and found the room to be small but cozy—perfectly adequate for our needs. The location is convenient, with quick access to downtown Cody, Walmart, and activities on the west side of town. One downside was the pool, which was quite dirty when we arrived. We ended up cleaning it ourselves as no staff seemed available to handle it. It was unclear who actually worked at the inn, and the staff we did meet spoke little to no English, which made communication difficult. The check-out process was also confusing; a man who claimed to be staff simply took our key cards without formally completing the check-out. On the positive side, we met many friendly fellow guests, which added to the experience. The AC worked well and provided much-needed relief from the summer heat. In summary, Sunrise Motor Inn is a decent budget option for younger travelers who don’t require full service, but it may not suit older guests who expect higher service standards.

Expedia indicates rollaway bed available. I called property and spoke to a woman that assured me one was reserved. Upon arrival they claimed the have no rollaways. I confirmed the number with my call log. The pool had scum floating in it, no way I was getting g in. Breakfast was toast, muffin s and cold cereal.

Check in was very easy, but when I walked in the lady at the front desk was on FaceTime and doing her makeup while checking me in. The room was fairly nice, the bed was comfortable, there was a few dead bugs in the room. The AC did not work so it was very hot in the room. Check out is 10:00AM and around 7:45 AM I had a cleaner just walk right into my room without knocking or announcing who it was or what they were there for, they didn’t not apologize and just walked out.

Motel was clean owner was good walking distance to buffalo bill center of the west and to Main Street would stay again

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I felt like they were pleased to see me arrive and were glad that I had a good stay when I left. The motel is within walking distance of local old town Cody and it is directly next to the museum that I had come to visit.

It had easy access to the areas we needed but the directions to get there were not as needed. Maybe help google maps fix that issue lol.

Really the only affordable place that I would stay at in Cody. Friendly staff, good location walkable to the Buffalo Bill Museums, safe and clean. The rooms are old and musty smelling, but they are clean. I would stay here again.

My third time staying here. Great value. Museum is next door and an easy walk. I need a full day in that place! Easy walk to the downtown district as well.

We enjoyed being convenient to everything. It was clean with nice service. The breakfast was really hardly anything. If one can eat cold cereal o.k. Husband ate muffins and cereal. I had to get my breskfast by buying at Walmart. Could have used boiled eggs and maybe fruit juice along with the muffins and bread. Otherwise it was a great experience.

Breakfast was a joke… cheap coffee and nothing to enjoy eating, a toaster, white bread, and … good luck… they take advantage from Whitestone park to change high prices for nothing…. Not coming back.

Das Zimmer war sehr einfach, aber sauber. Leider war das Frühstück eine Katastrophe. Das einzige Getränk war Kaffee, für die Kinder gab es nichts zu trinken- kein Orangensaft oder wenigstens Wasser. Zum Essen nur Toast. Besteck fehlte auch, es gab nur Löffel. Bis der Verantwortliche das gemerkt hat, haben wir die Marmelade schon mit dem Plastiklöffel auf den Toast gestrichen. Umgebung ist gut, Buffalo Bill Center zu Fuß erreichbar.

Very cute motel! Beds were very comfortable, loved the pool area. Clean and felt very safe. Only complaint is the breakfast - it was toast, mini muffins and 2 types of cereal. The addition of oatmeal and yogurt would have been nice. Otherwise it was a great stay.
