They have a fire pit every night with smores and only 10 minutes from Arches National Park. If you need someone to make your bed daily to feel like vacation, you may want to skip, but if you love a clean, kitschy, retro motel with plenty of charm and a friendly staff…Apache Motel is for you! They also have loaner townie bikes if you’re looking to ride into town got a quick bite. AC worked like a charm in the 90+ weather, and the heated pool was especially refreshing after a long day of hiking. BBQ available for your use if you’re looking to cook your own dinner. The John Wayne theme is so much fun!

We stayed for three nights with family. We all enjoyed the historic motel. Parking was easy and right in front of our room. Swam in the pool every day. The rooms are not fancy but had everything we needed. The hotel offers a firepit every night, hammock and books by the pool, outdoor grill area. Bikes were also available. Very fun place to stay! Loved the location off the main street, but close to the off road trails. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was simple, but was enough. The staff showed us the John Wayne room which was great! Love the history of the motel!

The management of this motel is fantastic! They focus on the details. The front staff was friendly, the beds were great, the room clean and updated. They text you with instructions to get your keycard if you are coming in late. They even turn the exterior lights off after a certain hour so they aren't shining in your windows! That is service and care for your customers. I would definitely stay here again. I especially liked that it was away from the center of town. The only drawback is the parking in the back is really tight.

Enjoyed staying at the Apache Motel!! Updated older motel built in the 50’s. John Wayne stayed here several times. Very clean; free bicycles to ride to town and even had a bike/motorcycle wash with microfiber towels to use for free!

I loved the free bike rental! Being able to bike and not have to find parking was so fun and easy, downtown is a 5 min bike ride! The pool and whole property was very clean. The room has retro decorations. Would absolutely stay here again!

Overall amazing experience. I like that the location is away from Main Street. The room was clean and the staff were extremely helpful. The kids loved the heated pool as well. The night time wood fire and s'mores were a hit. Thanks Apache Motel!

Staff is fantastic. Chill vibes for sure. Pool is nice. They have a bike wash station, a spot to wash the dog, and a small dog park. Breakfast is grab and go but it’s name brand stuff and the coffee is good.

We enjoyed our stay. The carpets need updating. It was over all clean, but I wore socks or shoes the whole time in the room. It is super dog friendly, with two dog wash stations and fenced in dog area. Pool and fire pit area is nice. Pool was heated to 80-85ish... We would stay here again.

Great quiet location minutes away from the “busy downtown area”. Great parks within walking distance. The property is very dog-friendly, equipped with a small dog park, dog washing station. We happened to experience a power outage over several counties while we were there and felt completely safe. They have a fire pit that you can roast marshmallows and make s’mores.

Very nice budget motel. Fastest check-in ever. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Has a nice character. Breakfast was fine. My only complaint is that the cancellation policy on my Hotels.com reservation was very different than what the motel sent in their confirmation email, and there was no response when I messaged them for clarification.

Our checkin process was a little bumpy (had to wait several minutes for a staff person to show up), and the room had a really strong chemical cleaning odor that we found unpleasant. They try to charge folks for ice that they take out of the ice machine and store in the front office, which we thought was really odd. Overall, found this place to be very overpriced for what it was and probably wouldn’t visit again.

As other reviews said, this place was very clean, we brought our dog and I would say they probably do a special cleaning and disinfecting of the pet rooms, because there was no smell of a pad our dog was not sniffing around or anything. Our room was very run down. We were surprised that the carpet was threaded and bare right as we walked in and there were two sitting chairs in the room that the cloth cushion part was completely threaded through and bear and the wooden arms were really badly scratched. We read that it was dated and quaint but clean so we were almost shocked to see the condition of the carpet and the chairs. But it was still a good experience and the people in the office were super helpful and friendly, and one of the owners checked us in. It had a fridge and a microwave and a coffee maker which sometimes you can't get. It's not too close to the main street of town, so that might influence whether we would stay there again or not. The condition would not influence whether or not we would stay there or not. So overall it was a good experience.

I booked this motel based on the info on the Expedia site that said it had been totally renovated in 2021. That was definitely NOT the case. Not sure why all the glowing reviews? I will state that the customer service was very good...check in, check out, personable staff/owner, etc. However, our room was in a desperate state of disrepair. I understand the concept of historic and vintage but that doesn't have to mean run down. The carpet was taped to the floor at the entry door. There was a hole in the carpet in front of the TV stand. The paint in the bathroom was cracked and bubbling; ready to peel at any moment. There was a loose tile on the bathroom floor. There was mold starting to form on the bathroom wall near the ceiling (the vent fan obviously wasn't working efficiently). The toilet barely flushed. The AC unit was extremely noisy. And, the entire room was in dire need of a deep cleaning (dusting, carpets, baseboards, walls, lights, etc.). While the location was good (as quiet as Moab can be), at $170/night, I will look elsewhere for lodging the next time I'm in town.

We loved the hotel with its folksy feel. All was very clean. Hardwood floor; so that was nice. Mattress needs to be replaced as is well-used. Pool area available, but very small. Location is great and it is quiet and off Main Street. Overall, would highly recommend.

Lots of positives about this hotel! The friendliness of staff was great. Grab and go breakfast starting at 6am was much appreciated for those of us wanting to get into the parks early. Hotel was old and historic. If you are expecting a Hampton Inn type room this is not it. Rooms are dated, but that’s the point. Bed was hard and room had an unpleasant smell and was warm. Overall a very positive experience - just be sure you know what to expect.

The lady running things was very nice. The rooms are very old and worn. Tape holds the fiberglass shower walls together (and in places, also the carpet). Heat and a/c kind of work. “Free breakfast” means lobby shelf with packaged granola bars, muffins and yogurts (I thought, from the website, there was a breakfast room but no go). Room was clean, but smell was acrid, so strong it literally burned your eyes. Had to leave the door open to air it out (since the windows don’t open). No more daily cleaning service, new towels, etc. provided. Furniture, carpet etc. was seriously beat up. These are extremely humble rooms, for which we paid more than double anything else we paid in 10 days travel through Utah. These folks have an ok location, and the bones of this place are solid. But man, do they ever do themselves a disservice by not spending a dime to improve the basics. I’ve stayed in a number of locally owned, no frills motels in Moab. This was in the worst of any, Moab or elsewhere. Again, clean, and nice help. But needs a lot of work.

It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was way too small. The toilet was not centered on the wall and made it very uncomfortable to do your business. The accordion door to the bathroom was torn halfway up. The shower floor was squishy.

Loved the historical charm. Room was clean and bed was relatively comfortable. Heard too much noise, especially from room upstairs… sounds of every footstep and luggage being moved was constant… possibly due to flooring being laminate and not carpet.

Quirky little place and Moab is fantastic. We arrived a little early and asked if the room was ready, we were told yes it’s ready but you’ll need to pay another $25 because you’re early! We’ve stayed at 9 different hotels on this trip and no other has tried to charge extra for being early. We declined and went back later. Also we didn’t think the breakfast was up to much in comparison to the other places we have stayed. it was just crossaint or porridge with yogurt and oranges. Other than this the place is nice, we only stayed 1 night .

Amazing staff. I accidentally left my dogs blanket in my room. The maid found it the next morning and the front desk went out of there way to call and reach out to me to make sure I would get it back!

Firstly; very friendly upon arrival. Owner(s) greeted us at check-in. If you're a fan of the classic motel, this is your place in Moab. Clean, quiet, and cozy too. We missed the fun around the fire and pool but sweet amenities. Incredible cinema connection. John Wayne stayed here while making movies nearby. It was a pleasure and fun to chat with owner Burke more about the history of the place. Admittedly, I am partial since I work in film production. We took his recommendation to visit the movie museum in the basement of the Red Cliffs Lodge - which is a scenic drive along the river on 128 from Moab. Excellent exhibits on the local impact, crews, and behind-the-scenes of movies made in the area. Arches National Park is the scenic jewel which we visited over 2 days. ANP tip: go online to book an entry time ticket. Kudos to Burke and Angela for the welcome and feeling of comfort while there. I highly recommend this motel for anybody on a low-maintenance trip to Moab. Especially any movie fans and friends.

Very nice budget motel. Fastest check-in ever. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Has a nice character. Breakfast was fine. My only complaint is that the cancellation policy on my Hotels.com reservation was very different than what the motel sent in their confirmation email, and there was no response when I messaged them for clarification.

Burke, the owner, was kind enough to give me some ideas on mountain biking. He gladly shared his favorite area and directions to get there. I was impressed. I highly recommend the Apache Motel.

Everything was amazing at first. The front desk person was very nice during check in. The room was clean and had a fun colorful aesthetic. The problem came the next morning. The stated check out time is 11am. We got a knock at the door from housekeeping at 10:15. No problem, they're just trying to get an early start. Then we got another knock at 10:30. Then a call from the front desk at 10:45 saying check out was at 11. Yes, WE KNOW. Then another knock at the door from a manager (?) at 10:55 saying check out is at 11. We were literally out the door at 11:02. This felt incredibly invasive and rude. If they want people to leave earlier, make the check out earlier. Completely unacceptable.

Overall, a great trip. We had car issues heading out and we weren't sure we were going to make it and they held their stance on no cancelations which was frustrating. We had to figure out how to get back home ( an hour and a half away) to get our other vehicle to then drive back 6.5 hours. Not a great start. The facilities were a fun throw back to days gone by. We enjoyed the heated pool and fire pit with smores and it was a great location. When I asked the front desk for recommendations for favorite hikes or destinations, her response was, 'just go to the visitors center, theyll give you tips' which didn't open for another hour. So much for getting out early to hike! Other than that, the other desk staff was very friendly and seemed to do their best to make visitors feel welcome. I would stay here again if we came back, but i saw it's up for sale so not sure what the status will be at that point. Thanks for an overall great stay

Apache motel is a historic site. It's a couple of blocks from Main Street which has stores, hotels, restaurants. It is very noisy there. The motel is in a quiet residential area. The Arches National Park is close by. The Canyonland National Park is about a half hour drive. We enjoyed our stay at the motel.

We had an absolute blast staying at Apache! The ability to borrow bikes from the Motel was the icing on the cake. It is a very short drive to The Arches National Park and a short bike ride to coffee shops, restaurants, and shops. The Motel is off the main drag but only by a couple of blocks. The nearby bike trail took us right to the action. The rooms are sufficient - clean and comfortable, not posh. I would highly recommend Apache as an economical way to visit Moab. If we ever return to the area we will stay there again.

Apache was a great throw back to old Moab with modern amenities. The location was very cozy at night and you avoid the hustle and bustle of Main Street. Although not on Main Street it is an easy walk to all stores and restaurants found on the main drag. I would stay again.

The Apache Motel was a perfect place to stay. Reasonably priced, an easy walk to the Main St and restaurants, shops etc. Clean rooms, friendly staff and breakfast included, often by a warm fire kettle. Would stay here again.

Apache Motel was charming with brightly decorated rooms , refrig and coffee maker. Very nice breakfast, good coffee with real half and half, juice boxes, hard boiled eggs, croissants and cinnamon rolls. Ate by the pool with lovely views. Clean everywhere. Moab is a sweet town right near Arches. We came in on 128 , scenic byway -gorgeous.

This motel is in a great location in Moab. The room was clean and comfortable. They have a small free breakfast with delicious cinnamon rolls. Go early to get the rolls. John Wayne also stayed here. If it was good enough for the Duke, it is good enough for me.

This is a vintage motel close to the national parks. The lobby was decorated with vintage John Wayne decor. Easy to get to, off the main drag. Our room was dated and could use an update, was not as pictured. But the room was super clean and quiet for the price you can't beat it! They had a little continental breakfast set up to grab and go and the pool area is well maintained. If you have mobility issue ask for a room on the bottom floor so you don't have to climb stairs. The staff was nice, friendly and very accommodating. Most importantly, I felt safe here . We would stay here again if we're in the area. Also check out Milts Stop and Eat right down the street for burgers and delicious Milk Shakes.
