Extended Stay America Suites - Pleasanton - Chabot Dr

Property is in rough condition. Electronic keys barely work. Was locked out of my room for 30 minutes because none of my keys worked and staff was away for 30 minutes. Even after programming new keys, couldn’t get in my room. Manager had to come to my room to let me in. Halls smelled like cigars as someone smokes in the building. Showers barely work. I guess you get what you pay for.

I liked the safety and location. Free and easy parking. It was quiet. Some things didn't work until we asked: the TV; a nightstand light; our key card; out of coffee one morning. But when we asked, things were eventually taken care of. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Not the worst dump I've ever stayed in, but definitely in need of cleaning and repair. Exterior key card door jammed open, didn't lock. Stairwell smelled like pee. Several ceiling tiles missing in hallways. In the room the hide a bed couch was broken and stuck half open. Sticky black goo residue on the table. No blanket on the bed. What looks like dried blood on the bathroom drawer. Leaky sink. Generally in disrepair.

The room was not clean. The swimming pool was under repair. We chose this motel for the pool in anticipation of the 100 degree weather. The bathroom linen had holes and the kitchen had absolutely NOTHING in it. A dog was barking in the room across the hall ALL night. I will NEVER stay at one of their hotels again.

The room was clean, but had an odd smell. The lobby’s floor needed a good scrubbing- we were there three days and it never looked as if it had been mopped. The door leading to the pool was broken so I guess people walked around the building to get there. Breakfast consisted of coffee/tea and instant oatmeal and granola bars. It was ok if you’re planning to cook, otherwise, not so much.

So frustrating when the pool is closed and they don't even give you a discount or tell you ahead of time. Very disappointing

I did enjoy the ladies at the desk. Always helpful. But towels were difficult to obtain. Lobby area is not monitored so there is noise and activity at all hours. We were on the bottom floor so we were impacted. Pool area is like a ghost town. No activity. People are smoking on premises and I found that disgusting. The laundry was nice and plenty of parking.

I've stayed here for the past 6 years while attending the Westcoast Nationals carshow at the Alameda County Fair Grounds, but this time the parking lot was all torn up, and homeless people sleeping in the parking lot. Even though the room was pretty clean and comfortable, the hallways and stairways were not clean at all, infact the wife wanted to leave, but since this was a big weekend for the event, there wasn't much availability. Too bad, but the whole country's going to hell !!!

each time i called the front desk nobody was there and i needed supplies , i couldn’t go down to get them because i was very ill. loud as HELL people above me and nothing was done about it. the room itself was clean but the hallways and pool weren’t. .

This place came to our rescue at a difficult time. The staff were the shining stars. They were completely full which stretches resources, yet the staff were on top of things, and really made us feel like family. Having a pool was a great feature with kids. No place is perfect, but when the staff is amazing, nothing else really matters.

No one was at the counter and once at there to help didn’t speak clearly or loud enough, while assisting me they stopped and took another customer and started helping them and pushed me aside. Room wasn’t clean. Floors under the bed looked like they hadn’t been touched there was shredded toilet paper looked like and soil spots and roaches crawled out from the tv.

The room initially given to me was filthy and all mess is visible on the floor. Food , trash everywhere and the bed was not made. Upon asking for another room, I got a cleaner room with a promise of 1-2 nights free room to make customer happy. But I was not given that when I asked during check out. There is no house keeping. Everything is self service, basically you are in an apartment in short term basis. Even cleaner room gives stench when walking into the room. Otherwise it is in a good location and have basic need items bed, bath, kitchenette, tv and ac.

This is a horrible place to stay. Customer service is non existent. From the start of our stay there was no one at the front desk and when a young kid finally showed up he was annoyed at having to check us in. The room we were given on the third floor STANK. The smell was so awful that my daughter became ill for the rest of the stay. The door was broken, the locks were broken and the fixtures in the bathroom were being held up by some kind of putty. When I went down to request a room change another guest was complaining about stain and urinated sheets. He was smart and left. The boy told me he could do anything for me. After insisting he gave me a smaller room which was dingy and dirty. Pull out sofa was dirty, then the sheets and pillows had stains and we awoke with big bites on our body. The room was horrible! And the breakfast, ha! It’s a coffee pot that was always empty and placed on a mantle surrounded by trash! The staff can’t even keep the coffee clean. There is never anyone around. This place is horrible and I am disappointed that this website hides the bad reviews and only places the good one first. This isn’t a hotel it’s an apartment building because clearly people live here full time.

The room wasn’t clean. There was dried blood splattered on the sheets and wads of hair in between the blankets. I keep trying to request a refund but the website gets stuck

The halls smelled like trash and wet dogs. The room also had a bad smell.

The room was dirty with human hair on the floor, dead cockroach in the room, very loud AC and fridge, super bright light outside my room and no blackout shades. The hallway smelled like cigarette smoke and people went out the door to outside all night long. Four Points by Sheraton was the same cost and a much, much nicer property.

Not what I was expecting based on the photos. This was more of an apartment complex feeling than a longer stay hotel. Not clean, but it was fairly quiet.

I had stayed at this site in the past but this time the room was not clean. The desk chair had something spilled on the back and seat. The carpet had actual debris that I could pick up with my fingers and I did and place in the trash. It should have been vacuumed but was not and the bathroom floor was also not clean until I placed towels to cover most of the bathroom floor. The dishes supplied with the room needed cleaning prior to use. A pan in particular had black gunk that was easily removed with dish determent and a sponge.

Pros: location, price Cons: certain necessities are not provided by default ( hair dryer, shampoo), curtain leaks large amount of light Other: neighbor upstairs not sleeping at 3am certainly made our stay worse.

The mattress felt like it was 50 years old. Very uncomfortable.

Shower valve would not allow you to change the temperature of the water, and it was cold. Wall lamp was broken and was dangling down. Noisy hallways. Never Again! Room #138

The Hotel is in a nice area, check in was great very friendly and helpful, the room not so great, door shakes because the door strike was missing, the walls had patches not painted, the rug was very dirty, the entrance floor was dirty and sticky, the restroom did look clean, bed was clean and comfortable, we had two rooms and this was the same at both, over all I’m not sure I would choose this hotel again

The room was comfortable and clean but there was no hot water in the shower. I was in room 107.

This place was a little bit run down compared to the Hyatt right next door but the price was good. My room had a slight odor to it which I did not enjoy but other than that it was great. Spacious and full kitchen.

Really old rooms and lot of things were missing. The bed in the sofa was low quality and hard to sleep

The hotel had a musty smell, people had dogs in the rooms and the walls are paper thin, you can hear everything.

The inside of the room was clean and nice. But the corridor outside was carpeted and it smell and has a lot of stain. We checked in around 10pm. When we walked to our room on the first floor, there were many dogs barking as we passed by other rooms. After we settled into our room, we can still hear dogs barking until it finally quiet down after midnight. We checked out on 8/30/25 and we left a glass electric tea kettle in the room. We noticed the missing kettle on 9/21/25 and I called the hotel and spoke to Anil at the front desk. Anil said he did find the kettle from Rm#113 and he will leave the kettle at the front desk tomorrow (9/22/25) so that we can come by and pick it up since we will be in that neighborhood. We went by the hotel around 9pm, Anil was off his shift, but the other guy at front desk said he was not told of any kettle need to be picked up. I had a back surgery on 9/23/25 and did not follow up this matter until 9/26/25. When I finally got hold of Anil on Friday (9/26/25), he told me he made a mistake. He actually did not find a water kettle in the room. It just sounds fishy. First he said he had it, then he said no. I think he is trying to cover up something. They should have contacted me the day I checked out when they found I left the kettle behind. It was a very nice product which I kind of missed. I think they are not honest people and ripped off my kettle.

The bed was decent, kitchenette was convenient but wish it had an oven. Lots of loud stomping/banging(?), not sure what it was but it was loud and excessive. Shower pressure was a drizzle at best and paint in the bathroom was severely chipping and peeling. I had booked 4 nights but had to check out after 2 nights after losing my job. (I travel for work…) I talked to the front desk staff and was told I had to contact the 3rd part app. I contacted them and they claim that they had to have permission from the hotel, I submitted a ticket for the app to contact the hotel…after a couple of days I received and email that after several attempts they could not come to an agreement with the hotel and I wouldn’t receive my money back.

There was no one at the reception desk for 30 minutes when I checked in. There’s a lot of families and young children staying there and it’s noisy.

My stay was from Monday night to check out Thursday. 2 of the 3 nights I stayed, the fire alarm went off twice in a row, late at night and at 6 am. My key card was disabled once. On my last night I went down to the lobby to figure out if I could do a late checkout, the gentleman at the front said I could do a late checkout at no extra charge, and asked what time I needed. Since I stayed for school, I requested 4 pm and he said it wouldn’t be a problem and would notate it for my room. The next day my family member that came with me was being harassed at 12 pm to leave the room. When I called the front desk to ask why this was happening they claimed they didn’t know “why this happened or why the person at the front desk told me what he told me and that they needed to charge me an extra night.” I had the vehicle and was not able to leave to get my family member. The person at the front desk and I argued for a while until they apologized for the staffs lack of training and allowed my family member to stay until 3:30 pm at no extra cost. The only reason I have them 3 stars is because they did what they could to remedy the situation. I would not stay here again if the cost of a standard room is more that $100 a night. This was a convenient location and that was it. Also the “breakfast” is more like a snack counter, banana, granola bar, or a black coffee.

Horrible hotel. Disgusting really. You’re only guarantee is that their will be a sign at the front desk that says “out to lunch be back in 40 minutes” or “taking a break” The staff is incredibly incompetent and can’t find a reservation booked moments prior through hotels.com. They will want to bill you again for something you just paid for. There are usually unsupervised kids running the halls all hours as well. A reservation at this hotel will ruin your travels.

Property is OK but in need of some cleaning and updating. Sufficient for a quick stay but nothing great. Check in process was not good and a prior occupant was at desk complaining that his belongings had been taken from his room. I can understand that as they double booked my room. When I came back from dinner there was someone else in my room so I had to be issued another room. Pretty unorganized system and worker was not well trained.

We arrived for check-in at 11p after driving a long distance and they told us they were unable to check-in to come back in an hour. Terribly inconvenient and no recourse when you advance pay and cannot take your business elsewhere for bad service

The staff at this location is the nicest I’ve ever dealt with. I booked a night for my family and they all loved it. Staff was welcoming, attentive and friendly.

It was a good stay and Jackie at the front desk was amazing. Give her a raise lol. I will definitely be back.

It felt safe

Fine value for price. Some conveniences walkable, others with just a short drive.

Staff was great but everything else wasn’t great. Seemed like most people were living in the hotel and didn’t feel safe. Broken glass in parking area lots of people walking around at all times of the night. Room was run down and hallways were hot and smelled bad.

Breakfast was not great at all. Bed was very firm/springy

The room was clean. The description online said free breakfast. When we checked in, we were told all there was, was muffins, oatmeal add coffee. We went down at 8AM and there was no coffee. Very disappointing. Probably wouldn't stay there again, or recommend to anyone.

Our stay was good, the room was nice but the breakfast was very disappointing.

Area felt safe. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchenette but it could use some upgrading. The halls had a smell and carpet was dirty. The “breakfast” was lacking. They had two types of small muffins, coffee, hot chocolate and tea.

No response from frontdesk. Breakfast was a pack-and-go: basically they had on option for muffin/bar .. nothing else. Room was still old except new flooring. Water drainage issues seen

This location was close to my work. The noise level above me and surrounding me was not ok. Poor breakfast choice. Muffins and coffee, nothing further.

The website we booked through (Hotels.com) boasted a "full breakfast" for this hotel. This was one of the main factors we considered when booking a hotel as we knew we would not have time to go out to breakfast, a breakfast on site was necessary. When we arrived we saw we would be provided with a "Grab and Go" breakfast which is very different than a "Full Breakfast". We have 3 very hungry teenagers and we were on our way to a funeral where we weren\'t going to be able to eat for several hours. A muffin or granola bar or oatmeal is not our idea of a "Full Breakfast" (not the hotel\'s idea either which is why they called it a "Grab and Go"). So that feels like a bait and switch to us when a hotel says come here for this perk and you do and thendon\'t get the perk. Very disappointing. In addition, the second morning the hotel didn\'t even offer muffins and the coffee what old and lukewarm. I can\'t see staying at an Extended Stay Americas Suites again or recommending it to anyone AND I am now a little wary about using Hotels.com to book because the information on their website was deceiving.

Property is in rough shape. Provided breakfast is a joke. A muffin and hot water. It’s inexpensive, so you get what you pay for. The room was clean enough, but shower rod was broken and hangin down.
