Nice swimming pool and overall pretty clean. However the parking garage was not the best, very close quarters so you'll have to squeeze out and in of your car if you park next to someone which will happen since it was small.

This was a pretty good property and would’ve been amazing except for the elevator being broken off and on while you were using it. Then we saw that the elevator hadn’t been checked in 2.5 years according to the posted certificate. Unsafe!

Front desk was friendly. The room was very clean. The maid added little touches when she cleans. Left her a tip. Two downsides: the beds are very very firm with flat pillows, and parking was very tight. If you have anything larger than a minivan, it probably won't fit. Still I give it a five because I was very impressed how nice it was for the price. And they don't charge for parking. Definitely stay there again when in the area. Will bring my own pillow

I would like a microwave in the room vs. going from the third floor to the pool area to heat something in the microwave and return to the room. The elevator was questionable. At one point the door would not close. It stuck about halfway closed. I used the stairs most of the time after that.

Clean room and building. Staff is nice. Inconvenient for restaurants- shopping if you are not driving. There is a bus to go to a store. No coffee pot in room. Was given an outdated hot water boiling pot that had water mineral deposits in it.white dust. They need a small coffee pot and hot paper cups in the rooms. They do have microwaves but it is downstairs outside by the pool area.

The rooms are carpet and my socks got very dirty from them so I don't think they were very clean. Otherwise the room was clean and nice. The surrounding area is quiet in terms of people walking around, and so it's a little dangerous to walk since a lot of crosswalks have no light and the drivers do not see you. The street is busy but I felt safe. My actual main complaint, and the reason I might not rebook, is that the beds were way too hard for me. I woke up with back pain every day.

My daughter and I stayed here because it was close to the Spanish Consulate where she needed to get her student visa to study abroad. We didn’t want to rent a car so we stayed at the Dunes so we could walk. It was updated and very clean. The room was comfortable and spacious.

I really loved the vibe at this hotel. It was really central, had great wifi and was very chill. It was a quick drive to the fun sites to visit and close to my business appointments. The only thing that detracted from the experience was that the cleaning products used gave me a bad headache. I couldn't stay too long in the room as a result. Open a window and you should be fine! I would visit again, but would open the window or crank the a/c to circulate the air.

nice place! perhaps we just got lucky but our room seemed recently renovated. I agree, perhaps the one downside is that the floors are carpet, but it didn't really bother us. It seemed to be in a safe neighborhood and had free covered parking which also seemed to be safe/protected. We'll be back to this place when visiting LA!

If you want gleaming marble and chrome and a dining room and a big lobby for socializing, this ain’t your place. It feels like (probably is) a 1950’s-1960’s L.A. motel. No dining room. Small lobby. No coffee in the room. But the neighborhood is safe (more residential and not jumpin’ with restaurants but that’s okay) and very convenient to both downtown and the various museums, attractions and neighborhoods on the western part of the city. Wilshire is a major street that goes from the coast to downtown, lots of buses to downtown and to the western neighborhoods, (West LA/Beverly Hills, the coast, etc.) and there is a train station about ten minutes walk away to downtown. I found it easy to get around without a car or calling Uber/Lyft much. And it is very clean. That is very important to me. The room was fine, not cramped, recently remodeled, bathroom fine. Overall, if you are not traveling with a family and planning to hang around a lot in the motel, this place is excellent for sleeping and getting around. It is a hotel – not like a skimpy hostel. And the room was clean and the bed was fine. And less than $100/night. So if this is the kind of place you are looking for (I was) it earns a full five stars from me.

It was a great stay! The shower had great water pressure, it was fairly quiet, and checking in and checking out was a breeze. My only complaint was the mattress on the bed. It was pretty hard. Everything else was great.

As a true motor inn the property does not have a sitting or reading area. The rooms are clean but bare; no bedside lamp. white LED ceiling lights. The corridors are concrete and noisy. No dining or breakfast options close by. Poor value for money.

This is my second time staying here. Pros - clean, great staff, good location Cons - the mattresses and pillows are awful, I woke up with neck pain every day. - shutters don't block sun light - thin walls - sucks if you have loud neighbors - wifi can be unstable and not password protected - heater isn't consistent - comes in and out Overall decent stay for warmer weather but not sure for colder weather when people are inside more. The mattress and pillows alone make me not want to come back even though everything else is great.

This is an older property in a nice area and in pretty decent shape. It looks like it was recently painted. Noise and construction signs were up, but we were not subjected to any related noise, probably because it was the weekend. The room was decent and clean, but the ceiling/walls are paper thin. Lighting was bothersome since you had two options for light. One in the entry or the entire room on blast. We were on the 2nd floor and should have been on the 3rd because the people in the room above us were just plain noisy. I can't decide if they were deliberately noisy or the ceiling/floor was that thin. I suspect a little of both. I know this is not the fault of the hotel, but being an older hotel, this is what you can expect. As well, try to get a room away from Wilshire Blvd since you could hear the traffic. I will say that the TV setup is lacking. Best I could figure out, you can only watch stations thru streaming and the internet was abysmal since it was constantly buffering or going out. Had to turn off the TV at one point since the internet never came back.

I love the Dunes because it’s usually quiet and safe. The location is excellent from any point I need to go. One thing that bothers me is that there are NO side lamps next to the beds. Only glaring lights from the ceilings. You used to have side lamps which gave the rooms a nice ambiance. Makes the rooms look like a YMCA without them. Also, need to upgrade your towels. The quality is pretty awful and cheapens the room. Other than that, it’s amazing. I’ve been staying there for almost 30 years off and on.

Was only staying the night after a wedding, so I can't really speak to the amenities, but it looked nice and I saw people enjoying the pool in the morning. Check in/out was super simple. The front desk is staffed 24/7 which is great, since I wasn't able to check in until 1 in the morning. Parking is a bit sketchy, as the spaces are limited, but there was some street parking nearby (which is limited to 2hrs between 8AM - 6PM so be warned). Considering the location, this is a very affordable and safe, clean, and functional option if you're just looking for a bed and a shower. I did notice there were fairly large minifridges in the rooms, which is a nice bonus.

Nice older property with only a pool as an amenity. Unfortunately the guy working the front desk on Wednesday in the morning was a jerk with no guest relation skills- more of a security guard with a bad attitude. The other staff we encountered were nice and helpful.

If I could give the staff at this hotel an A plus A plus rating it wouldn’t be enough! They were fantastic! We had an issue with one of the beds in our room but failed to notice it till 11pm when the hotel was booked completely, with the exception of a room with only one bed. Two in our party agreed to spend the night in the room but the other person absolutely could not. In desperation I asked if the hotel would comp that person the room with only one bed and they agreed to accommodate us. The next day we were given an upgraded room with both beds and the person at the front desk went the extra mile to be sure every part of the remainder of our stay was exceptional. Staff at the Dunes in KoreaTown is the best. We will stay again anytime we visit!!!

Clean, Comfortable rooms. The first night I was there I was in a room right next to a major road which was very loud. I spoke to the manager and he moved me to another room for the remainder of my stay, which I appreciated. Price was fair and was conveniently located.

Nice little motel that was reasonably priced and not too far a drive for events in Downtown LA & Hollywood. Very clean. Had a fridge in the room. Would have been nice to have an in room safe. Pool looked nice, but weather didn't cooperate. Parking lot is very tight. But in a good neighborhood that seemed safe without many homeless. Not really any restaurants within walking distance, but good places a short drive away. I would stay here again.

Outdated for sure, plumbing is a little wonky, TV in the room didn’t work. Clean enough, beds are pretty hard. Walkable to Koreatown if you don’t mind a 20-ish minute walk, I enjoyed it. Area nearby is safe, mostly residential. 7-11 right down the street which was nice. AC was good, water pressure was great. Good for a short stay!

It was very clean. I wasn't there during the day, but it was quiet at night. The beds were comfortable. They did NOT have a coffee maker. There was only a refrigerator. My daughter picked me up every day and had no problem parking.

We had a short one night stay and I would stay again. It was clean and comfortable. The fridge did not work and no microwave. I did not need them, so no issue. There is no coffee provided in the room or lobby. I did not think it would be an issue but there is none close by either. Next time I will bring my pot! They also had a secure parking lot.
