The property was awesome! Lots of food and shopping options in a walkable distance. The only downside is the parking fills up towards the night so if you go out and come back late, you might have to park on the street but besides that it's a great place to stay.

We had an amazing stay at Dunes Inn. First, hotel has plenty of free parking, which was paramount importance to us. Second, check in process was super easy and quick. Also, the room was clean, recently remodeled, and the bathroom was in pristine condition. When were needed late check out, staff accommodated us. Since it’s in close proximity to Kaiser Permanente, we will be staying at your hotel again. Thank you for treating us well!

We stayed for two nights as we looked around Los Angeles. We read complaints about perceived safety issues, but didn't find any real problems at all. Every area we've traveled along west coast in last 3 weeks seems to be experiencing same social problems (homelessness, mainly) but it wasn't really an issue. The inn is located on a very busy, but convenient street, and an attendant is at the parking lot entrance seemingly 24/7 to prevent non-guests from entering property. The Inn was clean and very affordable. A laundromat, 7-11, and Burger King are right next door to the Inn - great for coffee and getting that travel laundry done.

The Hotel and the room was great, in great condition and everyone was very friendly! The only thing that was disappointing was that they list and show a lounge and restaurant but it was closed and has been since Covid from what we were told? The pics of the lounge and restaurant were a factor in my booking that hotel so they should take it off of their web listings!

The parking lot is spacious which helps with parking and unloading luggage. There’s also a security guard in the lot which gives you an added peace of mind. The room was decent. Nothing fancy but comfortable and clean. My kids and I went to universal studios which was in very close driving proximity to the hotel. The staff was kind and very helpful! Would stay again.

Nicely updated rooms, with fresh windows and bathroom everything. Quieter than expected, but the occasional siren broke thru. The restaurant is closed, and there is certainly no pool. It is a convenient, perfectly fine place to sleep affordably in Hollywood area. The mattresses are a bit worn, but the cleaning staff do a great job every day. We got to Griffith Observatory in no time!

The free parking, the fridge/freezer in the room, and the comfortable bed were great, but the room was not very cozy: bright white lights, no coffee machine. We could hear our neighbors talking and slamming doors for most of the night. More importantly, the bathroom wall had many hairs on the wall and a couple on the hand towels, which was not a pleasant surprise.

Check in was the best thing here. Let me check in early. He was friendly. Shower remodeled and water pressure was good. No coffee maker. Refrigerator was cold. Wall air conditioner worked ok. Worst things were old dirty carpet. Limited parking. And someone yelling and banging on the next door over at 5am.

It was a good stay, very clean. The only issue is the air conditioning wasn’t too much help from the summer heat. :( The room was upstairs and very warm. It didn’t feel like the air was moving at all. I might not stay here in the Summer anymore. Otherwise it was nice!

Clean, safe, close to busses and metro station, grocery shopping, restaurant, etc. The neighborhood is okay, not the nicest, but still safe a clean. The one bad side is the noise. Since it's on a boulevard and the soundproofing is not good, if you're a light sleeper, you will get woken up by people speaking outside or emergency vehicules. Adding a microwave, kettle or coffee machine in the room would be a great add up!

Quite a nice motel and room. As advertised, their dining facilities were closed, which was sad. But the property and the employees were all excellent. I even got quick service for a problem light. Had 2 gripes. 1) No bedside lamps for reading or computer work. There are 4 pretty bright spotlight-type ceiling lights, including one right over the bed. Pretty exciting when you wake up at 5 A.M. and turn it on, lol. There was also no microwave, which i discovered the next morning when I went to heat the coffee I bought the night before, Oh, well, lol. Overall, quite happy with my stay and the entire staff. Yes, I would stay again.

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here while we were going to one of the entertainment venues due to it being easily within walking distance to them. The property is very clean and has in site parking. Lots of food in the area too. Cable channels are lacking but we weren’t here for that.

Hotel is in a convenient location. There is a target at walking distance. The hotel itself was OK. It was clean but the rooms were TINY. They have old AC units and felt hot at night. The rooms are out dated. No WOW factors. It’s a GREAT room if you are looking for somewhere to sleep.

The room was too basic and small. When booking, I selected a Queen-size room for 2 adults and 2 children, and the Double-size option was actually cheaper. However, after booking, I didn’t pay attention to the confirmation details and later realized that it was still a Double-size room. It was also extremely noisy. As soon as we entered, we saw two beds placed right under the window. The room was on the first floor, with the window facing the parking lot, so we could hear everything. We could also clearly hear the sounds of water usage from the neighboring rooms and noise from upstairs and downstairs. It’s okay for just one night, but I wouldn’t recommend staying any longer.

The property and parking lot are in good condition. It is well lit and has a security guard. However, there did not seem to be enough parking places for all of the cars. Also, the furniture was outdated and scratched. The beds were clean and comfortable. I visited the office a few times because my key card kept deactivating on me even though I purposely kept it away from all electronics and cell phones. I thought the place was overpriced for its value. I needed to stay an extra night and I found a cheaper hotel down the street. It had a better price and was in better shape.

Short stay- only 6 hours because of late arrival but it was all I needed. I had requested that there be an iron and ironing board in the room but there was none. However, one call to the front desk and they promptly brought them to my room.

great service, friendly staff. Had an issue with the heater as soon as we got in the room, they were very accommodating in changing rooms for us. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Neighborhood was sketchy, but they have security on premises 24/7, so felt very safe at the hotel.

It's a great motel to stay near Universal Studios and the Griffith Observatory. Walking distance from the Walk of Fame. Rooms are good, and if you have a car, you have free parking inside (very important in LA) and you're 20-40 min away from any other place you'd like to visit.

Hey. Really great place to stay when discovering the LA and California by both public transport and car. 8 minute walk to metro and 2 minutes to the bus. Big car park onside for those with the car. Rooms cleaned daily with the fresh bedding. Reception staff and security super nice and polite. Many take aways, coffee shop, and even supermarket next to the hotel. Overall great experience . Thanks!

The room was small but clean and had everything we needed for our LA trip. The area surrounding the hotel leaves a lot to be desired but the hotel felt very safe. There is a Starbucks, 7 Eleven & Target literally within steps of the hotel as well as some fast food options. Within walking distance to Hollywood Blvd. and less than 10 min drive to Universal Studios. Great location for a great price.

The property is well located near 101 freeway There is a lot of shopping stores, dining places, and close to the walk of fame, the rooms are clean. I didn’t have any problem finding a parking spot. Also there is a security on site. what I don’t like and I think is in almost every hotel is the water pressure on the shower. It is very low other than that this place is great to stay.

The location is great. It's very centrally located, along Sunset. There are lots of diners and restaurants nearby. It's a 10 minute walk to the Hollywood/Western subway station, along the red line. Griffith Park, the Hollywood sign, and Chinatown are all nearby.

No kettle to make a hot drink yet there was a fridge The restaurant advertised as part of the facilities was closed so could not get breakfast and with no cutlery, plates, cups or kettle this was limiting especially when leaving early for flights etc or arriving in time for dinner as could not do take out This was a Motel so expected this

Stayed here as part of a long layover passing through LA. Worked well as a base to get an early start, walk to hollywood walk of fame, dolby theatre, grab breakfast in denny's (5 minutes walk), griffith park, and the observatory/hollywood sign. No on site food....but places on same street so this is not a big issue. Sensibly priced, nice and central, and close to metro station too. Recommended!

Facility was clean and well maintained. We got in at midnight and were able to check in. Parking was full but I did find a spot. Security in the Raking area. Felt safe. Good dining options very close. Very walkable. Rooms have a refrigerator but no microwave or coffee maker. Need my coffee in the morning but there is a convenience store right next door. Enjoyed our stay.

The property is very clean, there's a security man on premises, the gentleman who checked me in was very friendly and greeted with a smile. Its also very close to the Kaiser facility where I have an appointment. Its too bad the restaurant on site is closed for awhile. Thats really been convenient in the past when I've stayed here.
